Ben had always been the guy with "weird" allergies. His friends joked that he could sniff out spring before the trees even started blooming. But what they didn’t know—what Ben had worked so hard to keep secret—was that his allergies weren’t just inconvenient. They were transformative. Quite literally.
Ben was allergic to pollen, yes, but it wasn’t just sneezing or watery eyes. Depending on where he was—what kind of flora was native to the region—his body would react by transforming into a very specific type of centaur. And not just that. Every time the transformation hit, Ben didn’t just become a centaur... he also became a female one. It was bizarre, humiliating, and more than a little magical. So he avoided hikes and nature trips like the plague, always making excuses or claiming he had plans. But this time, he caved. His friends had planned a long weekend of camping in a lush national forest, and they begged him to come. Against his better judgment, Ben agreed.
They set up camp, roasted marshmallows, told ghost stories by the fire—and everything seemed fine. Until the next morning.
Ben had just zipped up his backpack when a cold realization washed over him: he’d forgotten his special allergy medication. The only thing that kept his condition in check. His stomach dropped.
He considered faking a migraine, or maybe pretending he had to go back to town for a family emergency. But before he could settle on a believable lie, his friends called him over.
“Hey, Ben! You ready for the hike?”
“Y-yeah! Coming,” he replied, voice slightly shaky.
They trekked deeper into the woods, the trees growing thicker and the scent of wildflowers stronger with every step. And then—it hit him. The pollen. A swirl of golden dust drifted off a nearby patch of blossoms, and the moment it entered his nose, he froze.
“Ah... ahh-CHOO!”
The sneeze burst out of him like a gunshot echoing through the forest. And with it, the transformation began.
His legs buckled and he let out a small yelp as his body lurched forward, hands bracing the dirt. A tearing sound filled the air as the seams of his pants shredded apart—his legs stretching out, elongating, fusing, reforming into something completely nonhuman. Smooth, tan fur sprouted across his legs and quickly raced up to his hips as his spine extended outward, forming a deer-like hindquarter that bulged beneath what was left of his clothes.
His shirt split down the middle as his torso subtly shifted—his frame narrowing, waist slimming, and chest ballooning outward as two soft, prominent mounds pressed against the fabric. His hair lengthened into long auburn locks that cascaded past his shoulders, and his face softened with feminine curves—eyes widening, lips plumping.
A small white tail flicked behind her, and her ears twitched—no longer rounded, but long and deerlike, rising from her head as her human ears faded.
Within moments, Ben was no longer Ben.
She blinked, dazed, swaying slightly on her new set of delicate, cloven hooves. She looked down at herself with a mix of resignation and embarrassment. Her friends stood frozen in silence, staring wide-eyed at the beautiful deer centaur who had just exploded out of their hiking buddy.
Sniffling slightly, her new voice was soft, airy, and unmistakably feminine as she muttered, “Ugh... sorry, guys. I-I just have some really bad allergies.”
