The soft buzz of Zach’s alarm clock stirred him from sleep. Groggy but determined, he dragged himself out of bed, the early morning sun spilling through half-closed blinds. He stretched, scratched his head, and shuffled toward the bathroom, ready to kickstart another regular day.

Yawning, Zach turned on the shower, letting the water warm while he stripped off his T-shirt and boxers. Stepping in, he reached instinctively for the familiar green bottle of shampoo sitting on the shelf. He tilted it, and… nothing. Not a drop.

He squinted at the bottle, shook it, then sighed. “Empty? Seriously?”

That’s when he noticed the small sticky note taped to the mirror. The handwriting was unmistakable—Jackie’s neat, curvy lettering danced across the pink paper.

“Hey babe! I was running late and may or may not have used the last of your shampoo. Totally meant to replace it, but I forgot. You can use mine—it’s the purple one. Smells like lavender! Love you!! — J”

Zach couldn’t help but chuckle. He imagined Jackie—a tall, beautiful African American woman with thick glasses and a brain full of comic book trivia—frantically getting ready, probably running from room to room like a whirlwind, all while trying to keep everything in order. The queen of tidiness, forgetting to replace a shampoo bottle? It was kind of hilarious.

He reached for the purple bottle, popped the cap, and gave it a sniff. “Lavender, huh? Fancy.”

As the steam filled the room and the scent of Jackie’s shampoo swirled around him, Zach smiled to himself. The day hadn’t even started, and already he felt a little more connected to her—even if it was through a stolen bottle of shampoo.

Zach lathered the lavender-scented shampoo into his short brown hair, grinning slightly at the absurdity of it all. The sweet, floral scent enveloped the shower in a cloud of steam, calming at first—but then came… something else.

He blinked as a strange warmth crawled across his scalp. "Weird..." he muttered, eyes closed tight as the lather crept down his forehead. His fingers slowed in their motion as a tingle spread down the back of his neck and across his shoulders. His skin prickled—like it was stretching… or softening.

Then the pressure began.

It started in his torso—tight, unfamiliar, almost like a deep muscle ache. His chest felt heavy, too heavy, and he winced. His pecs tingled, pushing outward, rounding, softening, swelling far past their natural limits. "Ughh, what the hell..." he groaned, unable to open his eyes as thick bubbles of shampoo still clung to his lashes.

Then came the waist. His stomach pulled inward, his hips widened, his bones subtly creaking and rearranging. His center of gravity shifted. His thighs thickened, his rear pushed outward—fuller, rounder. His height shrank rapidly, the world seeming to rise around him as his legs shortened. Fingertips tingled, hands daintier now. His feet slipped slightly on the slick shower floor, balance unfamiliar in this new, curvier body.

Zach gasped—but the voice that came out was higher, softer, edged with unmistakable femininity. “What—” He reached up, shampoo still foaming in his long, unfamiliar hair. His fingers tangled in the heavy strands, far longer than they had been moments before. His chest—now clearly breasts—shifted with every movement, impossibly large and sensitive.

He stumbled back from the shower stream, finally rinsing away the soap from his face. Water cascaded down her—her—new body.

And then she saw it.

Reflected faintly in the fogged bathroom mirror… a petite, curvy woman with dripping wet hair, wide hips, impossibly large breasts, and a look of pure disbelief on her face. She froze. Her breath caught. Then:

“What… the actual hell?!”

She scrambled out of the shower, her now-smaller feet slipping on the bathmat. She grabbed a towel and wrapped it around herself as best she could, struggling to cover everything. Her mind raced.

“Okay—okay, calm down. Calm down. You’re… you’re dreaming. This is a dream, right? Right?”

She ran a hand over her face—still soft, still unfamiliar. Her voice was no longer deep and casual—it was bright, feminine, even kind of cute. She stumbled over to the mirror again and wiped the fog away.

“Nope. Not a dream.”

She stared at her reflection, heart pounding.

“What the hell happened to me? How… how is this even possible? I just used her shampoo. That’s it. That’s it! This has to be some kind of joke—or some weird allergic reaction. Oh God…”

Panic fluttered in her chest as she backed away from the mirror.

“What am I supposed to do? I can’t go to work like this! I can’t even explain this to myself, let alone my boss or my family. Or Jackie. Jackie—oh God, Jackie. What would she say?”

She sank onto the toilet seat, towel clutched tightly around her body.

“How do I tell my girlfriend I turned into a... into this?

She looked down at herself again, dazed.

“Why would this even happen? Nothing else has ever been weird before. Is it really the shampoo?”

Her thoughts swirled, tangled like the wet strands of hair she kept pushing from her face.

No answers came.

Only questions.

And a strangely unfamiliar body she didn’t ask for.
