Bethany (Before)

Nikki lounged on the couch, flipping through her phone, her blonde hair falling in loose waves over her shoulders, wearing a tight pink tank top that showed off her bust and a pair of shorts that barely reached mid-thigh. Her glossy lips pursed as she scrolled through social media, feeling slightly bored. It was a Friday night, and she had no parties to go to—an unusual occurrence.
Across the room, Bethany shuffled papers at the kitchen table, preparing for her Dungeons & Dragons game. She was everything Nikki wasn’t—short, round, glasses perched on her nose, her messy brown hair pulled into a loose bun. She wore an oversized graphic tee, one that stretched over her wide frame. Her hands busily set out game materials: dice, figurines, and notebooks.
“Hey, Nikki,” Bethany called out, her voice breaking Nikki from her scrolling. “You wanna join us tonight for D&D? It’s going to be fun. I can make a character for you real quick.”
Nikki scrunched her nose in confusion. “D&D? Like... nerd stuff, right?”
Bethany gave her a patient smile, clearly used to the misunderstanding. “Yeah, but it’s really fun! You get to create a character, go on adventures, fight dragons, cast spells—plus, you don’t have anything else planned, right?”
Nikki hesitated, biting her lip. Bethany was right—she didn’t have any plans, and as much as she wanted to say no, there was something oddly tempting about doing something instead of nothing.
“Ugh, fine,” Nikki said with a sigh. “I guess I’ll give it a shot.”
Bethany beamed. “Awesome! You’re going to love it, trust me. I’ll make a character for you right now. You want to be a bard, maybe? They’re like, really good at talking and flirting their way out of situations.”
Nikki perked up at that. “Oh, flirting? Okay, that sounds more like my kind of thing.”
Bethany laughed softly as she pulled out a character sheet. “Perfect. Let’s get you set up before the others arrive.”
As they worked on Nikki’s character, the doorbell rang. Bethany’s friends started to trickle in: a couple of guys and another girl, all of them just as nerdy as Bethany. They sat down at the table, greeting Nikki warmly, though she felt a little out of place. The game started, and soon, Nikki was drawn into the strange world of Dungeons & Dragons. She played her bard, giggling as she rolled dice to persuade NPCs with her charm and beauty. It was oddly fun, and the laughter and camaraderie from the group surprised her.
Bethany, as the Dungeon Master, led the adventure with enthusiasm, her eyes lighting up as she described fantastical lands and challenges. Nikki found herself actually enjoying it, the silliness of the game making her laugh in a way she hadn’t expected.
"Okay, Nikki, your bard walks into the tavern and sees a group of rough-looking men at the bar. What do you do?" Bethany asked, grinning.
Nikki twirled a strand of her hair, getting into character. "I walk over, give them my best smile, and say, 'Hey boys, care for some company?'"
The table erupted in laughter, and Nikki found herself laughing along with them. For the first time in a long time, she wasn’t thinking about how she looked or what people thought of her. She was just having fun.
As the game went on, Nikki found herself surprisingly focused, more than she had been in a long time. She felt a strange clarity creeping into her thoughts as she navigated her bard through various challenges. When Bethany described a puzzle in the dungeon, Nikki didn’t just laugh it off or flirt her way through like she usually would. Instead, she found herself listening intently, her mind sharp and calculating.
“So, if we move this lever, it should trigger a trap, right?” Nikki said, leaning forward and studying the map on the table.
Bethany blinked, clearly impressed. “Uh, yeah, exactly! I didn’t think you’d catch that so quickly.”
Nikki didn’t think much of it. She had always assumed she could figure things out if she really tried, right? But as she continued playing, more of those little moments happened. Her responses became quicker, more insightful. When it came time to plan the party’s next move, she actually had useful suggestions, offering strategic insights instead of her usual flirty or dismissive remarks.
Her friends were too absorbed in the game to notice, and Nikki herself was unaware of the subtle changes happening to her body. Little by little, her famously exaggerated curves began to recede. Her once ultra-tight clothes no longer hugged her in the same way. Her massive chest, which had often been the focal point of her wardrobe, was slowly shrinking, becoming a more average size that no longer overwhelmed her frame. Her hips and thighs, once comically disproportionate, were smoothing out, giving her a more balanced, medium build.
Nikki remained oblivious, completely focused on the game. Her thoughts, which used to be clouded with superficial concerns—about her looks, boys, or social media—were now sharper, more analytical. She was having fun, sure, but she was also thinking ahead, piecing together clues, and even roleplaying her character with more depth.
“So, if we follow this trail of clues, I bet it’ll lead us to the treasure!” Nikki said with excitement, her eyes gleaming as she pointed to the map.
Bethany raised an eyebrow but smiled, clearly happy with Nikki’s newfound enthusiasm. “You’re really getting into this, huh?”
“Yeah,” Nikki said, surprised at how much she was enjoying it. “I didn’t think I’d like this nerdy stuff, but it’s actually... kind of amazing.”
No one noticed the way her clothes fit looser on her frame, or how her voice seemed just a little less high-pitched, less ditsy. Nor did anyone notice the way Nikki’s usual airheaded giggles had been replaced by genuine, thoughtful laughter. But the transformation continued, unnoticed by everyone—including Nikki herself—as she steadily gained intelligence and lost the exaggerated bimbo body she had once flaunted.
As the night wore on and the game continued, Nikki found herself more absorbed than ever, her attention fully on the adventure unfolding before her. Her once crystal-clear, analytical thoughts were beginning to shift again, though not in the direction she would have expected—if she’d been aware of it at all.
Unbeknownst to her, the body that had once been perfectly sculpted, fitting the stereotype of a popular college girl, was slowly changing again. Her once slim, medium-sized frame began to fill out, little by little. Her hips widened, her thighs thickened, and her stomach softened, growing a noticeable layer of fat. Her formerly tight clothes began to stretch and strain, no longer flattering but clinging awkwardly to her changing figure.
Her breasts, once large and round, had already shrunk to a more modest size. Now, they began to reshape again, becoming uneven. One was noticeably larger than the other, an awkward imbalance that no one seemed to comment on. In fact, to everyone else at the table, Nikki had always looked this way.
Her once stylish pink tank top and shorts seemed to shift in appearance as well, taking on a new look that better suited her evolving personality. The bright, trendy colors dulled into faded shades of gray and maroon. Her shorts lengthened, transforming into ill-fitting sweatpants, while her tank top morphed into a baggy, nerdy graphic tee, similar to the one Bethany was wearing. She no longer looked like the popular girl who had reluctantly agreed to play Dungeons & Dragons. Now, she looked more like one of the nerds who had been eagerly waiting for this all week.
Her transformation into someone even chubbier than Bethany went unnoticed by the group. To them, Nikki had always been the overweight, socially awkward girl who spent her Friday nights playing tabletop games. Her newfound love for D&D seemed natural, and no one thought twice about it.
Nikki, still oblivious to her physical changes, leaned forward, studying the map intently. “Okay, so if we take the northern route, we’ll avoid that ambush. But we’ll need to figure out how to sneak past the guards. Maybe we could use some kind of disguise?”
Bethany grinned, impressed again. “Wow, Nikki, that’s a really solid plan. I’m glad you joined us tonight!”
Nikki smiled back, her double chin faintly visible as she did so. “Yeah, I’m having a blast! I can’t believe I never gave this a shot before.”
As the game continued, Nikki’s newly chubby, uneven body shifted in her chair, the fabric of her clothes straining around her growing form. But she didn’t notice—or care. For now, all that mattered was the adventure unfolding on the table before her.
As Nikki continued to immerse herself in the game, the subtle changes to her appearance and personality continued without her noticing. Her fingers tapped eagerly on the table as she worked out a strategy, her voice taking on a more nasally, higher-pitched tone, now sprinkled with nerdy slang.
"Y’know, if we use that rogue’s Sneak Attack ability, we could totally, like, pwn these orcs," Nikki said, her excitement palpable. But her speech was now slightly slurred, thanks to the braces that had materialized on her teeth without her noticing. Her front teeth had become buck teeth, and every time she spoke, her braces made her words sound just a bit off.
Her long, flowing blonde hair, once styled to perfection, started to change, separating itself into two thick pigtails that bounced with every movement of her head. The once glossy, voluminous locks now looked more practical than fashionable. Without even realizing it, Nikki reached up to adjust her hair, her fingers brushing over the nerdy pigtails, but it felt completely normal to her—as if she had always worn her hair that way.
Her vision started to blur just as large, round glasses suddenly materialized on her face, sitting heavily on the bridge of her nose. Nikki blinked through them, and without a second thought, pushed them up with a quick motion, now relying on them to see clearly. The thick lenses made her eyes look slightly magnified behind the glass, and her world sharpened as her now-poor eyesight depended on the glasses completely.
Her once cute button nose had widened slightly, giving her face a distinctly nerdy look, but even this went unnoticed. To everyone around the table, Nikki had always been this way—a chubby, buck-toothed, glasses-wearing girl with nerdy pigtails and a slight lisp.
“Okay, um, I think if we just thneak past the guardth and uthe my bard’s, like, thpell... uh, we could totally avoid the entire confrontathion,” Nikki explained, stuttering over her words as her braces and speech problems made it hard for her to speak clearly. A lisp had formed, and she now stuttered when she was nervous, though no one else seemed to think this was odd.
Bethany nodded eagerly, looking proud of her friend. “Good thinking, Nikki! I love the way you’re strategizing now.”
“Th-th-thanks!” Nikki stuttered, her cheeks growing slightly red as she grinned, her braces on full display. “I’m, like, thuper enthuthiastic about this! I love how we’re working together as a party. It’s thuper fun!”
Everyone else at the table smiled, not at all phased by Nikki’s dramatic transformation. As far as they were concerned, Nikki had always been like this—a slightly chubby, awkward nerd with speech problems and a love for tabletop games. She fit right in, her earlier life as a ditzy, popular bimbo completely erased from their memories.
And for Nikki, she didn’t remember any other version of herself either. This was who she was now, and she was having the time of her life.
As the game progressed, Nikki's transformation continued, unnoticed by her and everyone else at the table. The changes came subtly at first, with little details of her personality and body shifting in sync with her fellow players. The more time she spent absorbed in the game, the more she began to take on the characteristics of her companions.
From Bethany, Nikki gained more weight, her body softening even further as her clothes tightened around her growing belly and thighs. She started breathing a little more heavily as she shifted in her seat, but she didn’t think much of it. Her love for anime also began to intensify. As Bethany talked excitedly about an upcoming episode of her favorite show, Nikki found herself nodding along, adding her own thoughts about the plot and characters as though she’d always been a huge fan. In reality, she had barely touched anime before tonight, but now she was obsessed.
"Like, ohmygawd, Bethany, that new episode of Neon Angel Galaxy was, like, sooo epic!" Nikki gushed, her braces gleaming as she smiled. "Did you see the part where the heroine unlocks her ultimate form?"
Bethany nodded enthusiastically. “Yes! I knew you’d love it! We totally have to marathon the whole series together.”
Debbie, another player at the table, fiddled with her dice, her shy, awkward mannerisms rubbing off on Nikki without her realizing it. Nikki found herself mirroring Debbie’s movements—her eyes darting around nervously, her hands constantly fidgeting with her pen or the edge of her character sheet. She began to speak with more hesitance, adopting Debbie’s shy, withdrawn tone, especially when the conversation turned to males in the group.
Whenever the dungeon master, a male, addressed her character directly, Nikki blushed furiously and stuttered even more than before. “Uh... uhm... yeah, I, uh, I g-g-guessth my bard can... can, like, charm the guard, or... or sthomething...” Her face turned beet red as she struggled to get the words out.
From Kathy, the last player, Nikki unintentionally absorbed Kathy’s asthma problem. Every now and then, Nikki felt a tightness in her chest, and without a second thought, she reached into her bag for an inhaler that had somehow appeared there. It was second nature to her now—she had always needed it, after all. She took a quick puff, her breathing easing instantly, but the clumsiness that Kathy often dealt with followed close behind.
As the night went on, Nikki knocked over her dice, dropped her pen several times, and even spilled her drink on the table once. “Oops! Th-th-thorry, guyth,” she stammered, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. Her new clumsiness made her a bit more jittery, and her hands were never quite still.
The most embarrassing change, however, was the flatulence problem she had picked up, though Nikki had no memory of ever being without it. Sitting there at the table, every now and then, she would let out a quiet but unmistakable fart. She would quickly blush and wave it off, mumbling, “Sthorry... uh, thomething I ate.”
To the others, this was completely normal. Nikki had always been the clumsy, nerdy girl who got flustered around guys and had a few embarrassing habits. No one even blinked when she reached for her inhaler or when she giggled shyly about the latest anime plot twists.
As she sat there, a heavier and nerdier version of herself, Nikki remained blissfully unaware that anything had changed at all. She had always been this way—or at least, that’s how everyone remembered it. And for now, as she laughed with her friends and planned the next move in the game, nothing else mattered.
As the night wore on and the game continued, Bethany remained completely focused on the adventure unfolding before her, unaware that subtle yet dramatic changes were beginning to take hold. While Nikki had gone through her own transformation, the same was now happening to Bethany, reshaping her without her even realizing it.
Bethany’s usually simple, practical hair began to lengthen, the strands thickening and becoming wavy. Pink highlights appeared, shimmering through her dark locks, giving her a glamorous, almost artificial sheen. Her once unremarkable hairstyle morphed into something straight out of a beauty salon, bouncy and styled like that of a stereotypical bimbo.
Her lips puffed up into full, pouty shapes—the perfect, glossy pair of lips that looked almost too perfect to be real. They were now a soft, shiny pink, unmistakably designed to draw attention. Bethany absentmindedly applied more lip gloss as it shimmered in the light, her lips now looking as though they had always been her most defining feature.
Without thinking about it, her outfit had changed, too. Chunky, shiny bimbo accessories now adorned her wrists and neck—large, hoop earrings, a sparkling choker, and several rings that glittered every time she moved. Her makeup was caked on heavily, her cheeks blushed in bright tones, and her mascara was thick enough to give her long, fluttery eyelashes. To everyone at the table, Bethany's transformation into a bimbo-like appearance seemed normal, as though she had always been this way.
Her voice began to change, too. Once sharp and slightly geeky, her tone became high-pitched, soft, and slow, with a distinct airheaded quality. “Like, ohmygawd, I totally think we should, like, go in and, y’know, kill all the mon-thers or whatevs,” she said, giggling at herself. “That’d be, like, soooo fun, right?”
Bethany began to fumble with words, her understanding of verbs, vowels, and adjectives slipping away, making it harder for her to string coherent sentences together. “We... we should, like... do the thingy, y'know? Like, go and stuff with the, um... whatchamacallit... swords and things?”
Despite her clear difficulty in expressing herself, no one else seemed to notice anything strange. The others smiled, nodded, and continued with the game, treating her speech as perfectly normal.
Bethany played with her hair, twirling a long pink-highlighted lock around her finger, clearly less concerned about the game itself and more focused on looking cute. “Like, ohmygawd, this is, like, totally funnn!” she squealed, giggling airily. Her speech had become filled with the empty slang of an airheaded bimbo, punctuated by her clueless stumbles over basic words.
Nikki, now transformed into a nerdier version of herself, looked at Bethany and smiled as though Bethany had always been like this. The rest of the group continued playing, blissfully unaware of the changes that had swept over Bethany. To them, this was just how things had always been—Bethany was the bubbly, pink-highlighted bimbo who barely knew how to play DnD but loved hanging out with her friends. And Bethany, herself, couldn’t even remember a time when she was any different.
For her, this new life—filled with sparkly accessories, thick makeup, and a head full of air—was just normal. And she was more than happy to keep playing along, oblivious to the world she had left behind.
By the time the game came to an end, the transformation had fully taken hold, sealed as if it had always been meant to happen. Neither Bethany nor Nikki noticed anything unusual—both were fully absorbed in their new identities. As the dice were packed away and the table cleared, their lives had been irrevocably swapped, leaving no trace of their former selves.
Bethany, now the bubbly bimbo with pink-highlighted hair and a clueless demeanor, twirled her hair around her finger as she said her goodbyes, giggling without a care in the world. Her thick, glossy lips parted as she smiled at Nikki, who now stood with a far more confident and intelligent air about her.
Nikki, transformed into the nerdy, slightly overweight girl who loved nothing more than a good night of DnD and anime marathons, adjusted her thick glasses and smiled warmly at Bethany. She had embraced her new nerdy passions without question, speaking with all the confidence and intelligence that used to belong to Bethany.
As Bethany’s former friends—Debbie, Kathy, and the rest—gathered around Nikki, laughing and talking about their plans for future games, Bethany stood slightly apart, her attention drifting to her phone, completely uninterested in the nerdy conversation going on. The dynamic between the group had shifted seamlessly, and no one saw anything strange about it. To them, Nikki had always been the one who shared their interests and hobbies, while Bethany had always been the airheaded, carefree girl who didn't quite fit into their world.
"Like, I totally hafta get my nails done tomorrow," Bethany announced, pouting her lips as she looked at her hands. "I’ll, like, see you guys later!"
Nikki waved her off with a smile, already planning the next game night with her friends. She felt right at home in her role now, and the thought of her past life as the shallow, popular bimbo was completely erased from her mind. In its place were memories of late-night anime binges, study sessions, and countless role-playing campaigns. She had taken over Bethany’s life completely, without even realizing it.
Meanwhile, Bethany walked out the door, her high heels clicking on the pavement, completely unaware that her former life as a smart, nerdy girl was gone forever. To her, this was how things had always been—she was the popular, airheaded girl who loved looking good and didn’t care much about intellectual pursuits.
The roles were swapped, their lives permanently altered, and no one—least of all Nikki or Bethany—would ever suspect that things had once been different. As the door closed behind them, the transformation was complete, and life moved on, just as if it had always been this way.
