Um we have a slight problem

Jack had always been a thrill-seeker, so when he heard about MT Lab's new Reality Jump experience, he signed up without hesitation. The idea of exploring alternate realities was too intriguing to pass up. As he stood in the lab, waiting for his turn, a staff member named Nikki gave a thorough briefing on the safety protocols. "Make sure you lock and activate the special collar's double feature," she emphasized. "It protects your body and head from any sort of Reality glitches."

Jack nodded along, but his mind was already racing with excitement about the adventure ahead. He didn’t pay much attention to the detailed instructions. After all, how complicated could it be? He snapped on the collar, adjusted it to what he thought was secure, and joined the group heading into the Reality Jump chamber.

The chamber itself was a marvel of technology, glowing with pulsating lights and humming with energy. As the countdown began, Jack felt a surge of adrenaline. In a flash, the room blurred around him, and he was pulled through a swirling vortex of colors and shapes.

When he landed, the world around him was familiar yet different. This was Earth 2, a parallel universe that mirrored his own but with subtle and intriguing differences. Jack spent hours exploring the alternate reality, marveling at the variations in architecture, technology, and even the people. He met his Earth 2 counterpart, who was eerily similar yet noticeably different in demeanor and style.

As the day drew to a close, the MT Lab staff began to gather the participants to return to their own reality. Jack hurried back to the meeting point, his mind buzzing with all he had seen and experienced. The vortex reopened, and he felt himself being pulled back through the dizzying tunnel of light and sound.

Upon returning, Jack felt a strange disorientation. As he looked around, everything seemed normal at first glance, but something felt off. He glanced down and gasped in shock. His body was completely different. He now had the physique of his Earth 2 counterpart, with broader shoulders, a leaner build, and even slightly different facial features. His clothes hung differently on his new frame, and he felt an unfamiliar weight and balance in his movements.

Panic set in as he realized the gravity of the situation. He looked around frantically for Nikki or any other staff member who could help. When he found her, she immediately noticed the problem. "You didn’t lock the collar’s double feature, did you?" she asked, her tone a mix of concern and exasperation.

Jack shook his head, feeling a sinking sense of regret. "I guess I should have taken the warnings more seriously," he muttered.

Nikki sighed and began to explain the situation. "The collar is designed to protect against Reality glitches. Without it properly secured, the transition between realities can cause... anomalies. In your case, you’ve swapped physical forms with your Earth 2 counterpart. It’s a rare but known issue."

Jack's mind raced. "Can we fix it? Can I get my old body back?"

Nikki nodded, though her expression remained serious. "It’s possible, but it will take time. We need to locate your Earth 2 counterpart and coordinate another Reality Jump, ensuring both of you are correctly synchronized this time. Until then, you’ll have to adjust to your new form."

Jack looked down at his new hands, flexing his fingers as he tried to come to terms with the transformation. The experience had been far more intense and unpredictable than he had ever imagined. As he followed Nikki to begin the process of rectifying the glitch, he made a silent vow to himself: next time, he would pay much closer attention to the instructions.
