Hailey was forced to work with the nerdiest and geekiest student in her college class, Tammy. Hailey was your typical popular girl—radiant, confident, and effortlessly social. Hailey took a tentative sip, trying to be polite despite her reservations. The drink was sweet but had an odd aftertaste. She took another sip, feeling a strange sensation wash over her. Dismissing it as nerves, she continued sipping as Tammy gathered their study materials.

She tried to form words, but her tongue felt heavy, and she found herself stuttering just like Tammy.

"N-no, this can't be happening," Hailey whispered, her voice trembling. "W-what did you do to me?"

Tammy shuffled her feet, looking both guilty and resolute. "I... I was tired of being the only nerdy girl. I... I wanted a friend, someone who c-could understand me. So, I... I made that drink. Now we can be best friends."
