Story 13 Luke A

Luke had always been warned about the treacherous nature of genies, cautionary tales of their twisted wish-granting abilities circulating through generations. But perhaps it was youthful exuberance or a momentary lapse in judgment that led him to trust that ancient brass lamp he found buried in the attic. Little did he know, that decision would irrevocably alter the course of his life.

Lonely and longing for companionship, Luke clutched the lamp tightly and uttered his earnest desire, "I wish for a girl, a girlfriend to share my life with." He had rehearsed it a hundred times in his mind, each time focusing on the word "girlfriend." Yet, the genie within that lamp was notorious for its selective hearing.

With a resounding puff of azure smoke, the wish was granted, and the genie vanished into thin air. Luke stood there, staring at himself in disbelief. He hadn't transformed into the charming and handsome young man he expected to become, but something entirely unexpected. His hands instinctively fell upon his round, pregnant belly.

A wave of panic surged through him as he struggled to come to terms with his new reality. He was no longer Luke, the young bachelor seeking love; he was now Lucy, a pregnant woman carrying a child. The transformation had not only changed his physical appearance but also his mental and emotional state. As the days passed, he found himself adapting to this new identity, with a growing sense of maternal responsibility.

The wish had come at a tremendous cost, one far greater than he could have ever anticipated. Luke had lost not just his former self but also the life he had known. He was now a pregnant woman, and the impending responsibilities of being a single mother loomed ominously on the horizon.
