These are some stories that I made way back during lockdown. I felt like these stories weren't good enough to be posted. So here they are. If you like them let me know in the comments and I'll give them a small update and add some images to them.
Joining in on the Fun:
Betty sat on the living room floor, watching little Lucy giggle as she stacked up her blocks. At 23, Betty had been babysitting Lucy since she was a baby. Now at 3 years old, Lucy was an imaginative little girl who loved pretending and make-believe games.
"Let's play dress up!" Lucy suddenly exclaimed, jumping up from her blocks.
Betty smiled. "Okay, that sounds fun."
Lucy ran to grab her kid-sized plastic high heels, floppy sun hat, beads and boas. She handed Betty a string of plastic pearls.
"You can be the princess and I'll be the queen!" Lucy declared.
Betty placed the pearl necklace around her neck and put on a feather boa. Lucy arranged her hat and slipped on her heels.
"Now we have to fix your makeup," Lucy said seriously. She went to grab her toy makeup kit.
Betty giggled as Lucy pretended to apply blush and lipstick on her cheeks.
"Oh no, I look so silly!" Betty joked.
Lucy studied her face intently. "Hmm, something's missing. I know what you need - magic princess spray!"
She ran to the kitchen and came back a minute later triumphantly waving a spray bottle.
"Every princess needs magic spray to look extra beautiful," Lucy said. Before Betty could react, Lucy sprayed water directly in her face.
"There! Now you look perfect!" Lucy said happily.
Betty blinked in surprise as water dripped down her face. She went to grab a towel to dry off. As she did, an odd tingling sensation came over her body.
"Um, I'll be right back sweetie," Betty said. "I have to make a quick phone call."
She went into the other room and called her best friend Anna.
"Hey, can you come over to Lucy's house? I'm feeling really weird..." Betty trailed off as she glanced down at herself. Her body was slimming, her curves softening.
"What's wrong?" Anna asked worriedly.
"I think Lucy pretended to cast a spell on me and now I'm starting to change," Betty whispered. "Please hurry!"
She hung up and caught sight of herself in a mirror. Her face looked younger, rounder. Her clothes were looser on her now petite frame.
Lucy skipped into the room. "Come back, we have to finish playing dress up!"
Betty could only stare as Lucy now looked bigger to her somehow. A powerful urge to play suddenly overtook her.
"Okay!" she said in a high pitched voice. Giggling, she followed Lucy back to the pile of dress up clothes. She felt giddy as she put on a tutu and necklaces.
Soon there was a knock on the door. Lucy ran to open it, revealing Anna.
"Hi Anna! Betty and I are playing princess." Lucy said.
Anna's eyes widened as she caught sight of Betty. Her friend was now the size of a toddler with chubby cheeks and short limbs.
"Betty?" Anna asked in disbelief.
"Play with us!" Betty said, holding up a princess crown. Her voice was high and childish. Mentally she was regressing too.
Anna quickly realized she had to get Betty out of there. "How about we all go out for ice cream instead?" she suggested with forced cheer.
"Yay ice cream!" Lucy shouted excitedly. She took Betty's hand and they followed Anna to the car. Betty babbled in a babyish voice about princesses and castles as Anna drove to her house.
Once home, Anna led them inside. "You two play while I get the ice cream ready," she said. After sitting Betty and Lucy in the living room with some toys, she hurried to call Betty's mom for help.
Betty blinked innocently as she looked over the doll Lucy handed her. In her mind, she was just a little girl of 3, eager to play with her friend. The two "children" giggled and played make-believe, unaware that soon Betty's mom would arrive to figure out how to undo Lucy's "magic spell." For now, Betty was happy being young again and having fun with her playmate.
Chemical Spill:
It was a hot and humid summer day in the small town of Glenwood. Luke, Mark, Greg and Betty decided to head down to Blue Lake to go for a swim and cool off. The four friends had grown up together in Glenwood and spent many summer days swimming and playing in the crystal clear waters of the lake.
As they walked along the shore and put down their towels, Luke said “The water looks so refreshing today! I can’t wait to jump in.”
“Me too!” said Betty. “It’s so hot out. I’m going to swim all the way across the lake!”
The friends laughed and took turns diving and jumping into the lake, enjoying the cool water on their skin. After about an hour of swimming around and playing Marco Polo, they decided to get out and relax on their towels for a bit.
“That was so nice and relaxing,” said Mark. “The lake always feels like home.” The others nodded in agreement.
“Hey, do you guys feel kind of strange?” asked Greg after a few minutes.
“Now that you mention it, I do feel a little odd...” said Luke. “Kind of itchy and tingly all over.”
Before they could figure out what was happening, their bodies started transforming right before their eyes. Luke sprouted orange and black fur all over his body as he shrank down in size. Mark's neck grew long and scaly as his face morphed into a snout. Greg watched in horror as feathers covered his arms and his feet turned into webbed flippers. Betty let out a shriek as her petite human form grew in size and became covered in brown spotted fur.
Within moments, the four friends had been completely transformed. Luke was now a playful otter, splashing around happily in the water. Mark's long neck and ridged back identified him as an alligator. Greg flapped his feathery wings - he was now a duck. And Betty resembled a huge grizzly bear as she lumbered around on all fours.
The friends looked at each other in shock, unable to comprehend what had just happened. They tried speaking, but could only communicate through various animal noises.
As the reality of their new forms started to sink in, the friends began to explore their new bodies and abilities. Luke the otter joyfully glided through the water, while Mark the alligator floated lazily on the surface. Greg the duck tentatively flapped his wings until he was able to take flight around the lake. Betty the bear curiously sniffed the air and foraged around the shore for food.
Their animal instincts took over as they adjusted to their new forms. The four friends embraced their new identities, while still maintaining the strong bond they had always shared. They stayed close together as a group, looking out for each other, playing together, and enjoying their new lives.
Little did they know that a leak at the nearby science lab had contaminated Blue Lake, reacting with something in the water to cause the amazing transformations. The local authorities soon realized what had happened and warned people to stay away from the lake. But for Luke, Mark, Greg and Betty, the damage had already been done.
Their families were in shock when they saw what had become of their children. But over time, they came to accept that the transformations were permanent. The four friends made the best of their new lives. Luke loved frolicking in the water and was adopted as a pet by Mark's family. Mark enjoyed basking in the sun by the lake and occasionally exploring the watery depths with Luke. Greg made his home in a nest by the lake, visiting his family often by flying over to their house. And Betty was cared for by a wildlife reserve just outside of town.
Though they missed their old human lives, Luke, Mark, Greg and Betty had each other for support. They would always share the special bond of that fateful summer day when a swim in their favorite childhood lake changed their lives forever. Though now in animal form, their friendship remained stronger than ever.
Talk about going GREEN:
Ted was walking to work like any other day when suddenly everything around him started to shimmer and warp. The sidewalk beneath his feet rippled like water and the buildings alongside him blinked in and out of focus. "What's happening?" Ted shouted, but his voice sounded muffled and far away.
He tried to run but his legs felt heavy, as if he were moving in slow motion. The warping increased until the street, buildings, and sky all blurred into a kaleidoscope of colors and shapes. Ted felt himself stretching and twisting, his body elongating and hardening. He cries out but no sound comes.
In an instant, the chaos disappeared and Ted found himself standing in a lush green forest. But something was very wrong. His arms had become gnarled branches and his legs were fused into a thick trunk. Leaves sprouted from his hair and tiny apples budded from his fingertips.
"Help me!" he tried to call out, but all that came out was the rustling of leaves in the breeze. He had become an apple tree.
Ted's mind reeled with panic and confusion. How could this be happening? One minute he was a normal human man walking to work, and the next he was a tree in the middle of a forest. He struggled to move but the most he could do was sway slightly in the wind.
Over the next few days, Ted slowly started to accept his new existence. He relished the feeling of sun on his leaves and the refreshing rain that nourished his roots. He stood tall and proud, his apples growing full and ripe. Birds nested on his branches and deer rested in his shade. For a while, he even enjoyed his new, simple life as a tree.
But as the weeks passed, Ted felt his thoughts growing sluggish and vague. His strong sense of self as a human man started to fade away, replaced by the instinctual existence of a tree. Memories of his past life drifted out of focus, like waking from a vivid dream.
When two young boys wandered up to Ted’s trunk and eagerly picked his apples, he felt no reaction, only a dim awareness. When winter came and icy winds rattled his bare branches, he did not despair, but merely rested through the season until new leaves sprouted again.
Over time, Ted lost all remnants of self-awareness and became a normal apple tree, living year after year in contented oblivion. He provided food for foxes and squirrels, turned sunlight into energy, sank roots deep into the earth. He did not remember ever being anything but a simple tree.
Many years later, an elderly man hiking through the forest came across the apple tree and sat in its shade. The man savored one of the sweet ripe apples and thought this was the best one he had ever tasted. He had no way of knowing he was eating the fruit of a man named Ted, absorbed completely into the natural world, now just another part of the forest.
The Wrong Move:
Stan sat at the bar with his friends Todd, Jack, Greg, and Ben. They were having a guys' night out and the drinks were flowing freely. After several rounds of shots, Stan was feeling buzzed and his inhibitions were lowered.
"Let's go talk to those ladies over there," slurred Todd, pointing to a group of attractive women standing near the dance floor. The other guys readily agreed, their judgment clouded by alcohol.
Stan and his four buddies sauntered over to the women. "Hello ladies," Stan said with a sloppy grin. "Care to join us for a drink?"
One of the women, a striking brunette, looked them up and down. "Us join you? I don't think so. How about you join us instead?" She gave them an alluring smile.
The five men eagerly followed the women to a more secluded booth in the back corner of the bar. They all crammed into the circular booth, thighs touching. Stan found himself squeezed next to the brunette who had first spoken to them. She seemed to be the leader of this group of friends.
"My name's Zelda," she said, placing her hand on Stan's leg. "What brings you boys out tonight?"
"We're celebrating my friend Jack's birthday," slurred Stan, putting his arm around her. Zelda seemed amused by his obvious intoxication.
The group continued drinking and laughing, but soon Stan noticed something odd happening. The bar sounds seemed to fade around them. Their booth was enveloped in shadowy darkness, lit only by the faint glow of Zelda's eyes.
Stan tried to shake his head, to clear the fuzziness he felt overtaking his brain. But his motor skills were slowing. He glanced around and saw his friends slumping over, their eyes glazing over.
"Wha...whats happening?" mumbled Stan, his tongue thick and unwieldy.
Zelda whispered an incantation under her breath. She ran a long, red-lacquered fingernail down Stan's cheek.
"Sorry boys, but you picked the wrong girls to hit on tonight. We're not as innocent as we appear." She let out a sinister laugh.
Stan's vision was dimming, shapes and forms blurring together. He felt his bones and muscles softening, an odd melting sensation washing over him. Zelda's voice sounded distant as she continued her spell. Stan's mind clouded with a pink, perfumed haze. His thoughts slowed, a heavy fatigue overtaking him. He had a fleeting moment of panic, aware he was transforming somehow, but the alarm quickly faded. His mind sank into oblivion.
When Stan awoke, he was in a strange, dark room. But he felt no curiosity about his surroundings. His mind was blank, devoid of personality or memories. He was merely an object now.
Zelda's spell had turned Stan into a tube of glittery pink lipstick. Where his thoughts and memories had been was now simply cosmetic paste. His friends were also inanimate items needed for a woman's makeup routine. Todd was a bronzer powder compact. Jack was a silky foundation in a glass bottle. Greg was a four-color eye shadow palette. And Ben was a mascara wand.
Zelda had ended their night out by turning the group of drunken men into her new makeup. Their forms were changed to be small, dainty feminine items that fit neatly into her purse. Their minds were wiped clean, no longer aware of their past lives.
Zelda treated her makeup collection well, only using the men sparingly to preserve their quality. She took satisfaction in the act, knowing that arrogant men who had tried to pick her up were now reduced to mere objects under her control.
Sometimes Zelda would talk to her makeup collection as she applied them. "Todd, you're looking a little dry, let me use some of Jack to moisturize you." Or "Greg, you have such lovely eye colors, you'll look so pretty on me today."
What was once Stan was now just a lipstick tube, unaware it had ever been a man. It sat in Zelda's darkened purse, waiting to add a pop of color to her lips if she chose to wear it. Stan didn't remember going to a bar, drinking with his friends, or hitting on an alluring woman. His only purpose now was to be applied to Zelda's lips when she uncapped him.
Sometimes Zelda's magic wore off after a few weeks and her makeup collection transformed back into men. But they were permanently changed by the experience.
She just needed money:
Mary took a deep breath as she walked up the steps to the large brick building. She had signed up to volunteer for a medical study, but now that she was here, she was starting to feel uneasy. What if something went wrong? Maybe she should just turn around and go back home.
No, she told herself, don't be silly. It's just a study, there's nothing to worry about. They told her it was perfectly safe. She was doing a good thing by volunteering, and the compensation they offered wasn't bad either.
With renewed determination, Mary opened the heavy front door and went inside. She was greeted by a receptionist who checked her name off a list and asked her to take a seat. The lobby was clean and professional looking, with abstract art hanging on the walls. There were a few other volunteers waiting, casually flipping through magazines.
After about 15 minutes, a nurse in blue scrubs came through a door and called Mary's name. Taking a deep breath, Mary stood up and followed her. They went down a long hallway to an exam room. The nurse took Mary's vitals and had her change into a hospital gown. Mary sat nervously on the edge of the exam table, her hands gripped tightly together.
A few minutes later, a doctor came into the room accompanied by a scientist in a white lab coat. They explained to Mary that she would be injected with an experimental new formula designed to reverse the aging process. Mary's eyes went wide. Reverse aging? That wasn't what she had signed up for. They assured her it was perfectly safe and temporary, only lasting approximately 24 hours. Before she could protest, the doctor smoothly injected the formula into Mary's arm.
Within moments, Mary began to feel strange. The room seemed brighter and louder. Her hospital gown was suddenly baggy on her frame. She looked down at her hands and gasped as they began to grow smaller and smoother. The fingers shortened and the knuckles grew less prominent. Her arms and legs felt weak and wobbly, as if the muscles were shrinking.
Looking into a mirror on the wall, Mary saw her face change. Her features took on a childlike roundness, soft and innocent. Fine lines and wrinkles faded away. Her lips became plump and red. Wide, frightened eyes stared back at her as her hair lightened and lengthened into soft curls.
Mary's mind raced in panic. How was this possible? She watched in horror as her body rapidly regressed to that of a young teen, then a small child. The now loose hospital gown slid off her tiny shoulder. Her feet no longer touched the floor from her perch atop the exam table.
The doctor and scientist gazed at her with clinical interest, taking notes on clipboards. Mary tried to speak but her voice came out high and unsteady. She slipped off the exam table, her tiny bare feet landing unsteadily on the cold tile floor. Gripping the back of a chair for balance, she managed to stay upright on wobbly legs.
Looking around with frightened eyes, Mary felt tiny and helpless in the big room with the adults towering over her. Tears welled up and she began to cry. The doctor tried to soothe her, patting her gently on the head. But his touch only made her shrink back further. She didn't know these people. She wanted her mommy and daddy.
Frantically, her young mind tried to make sense of what was happening. How could she be a little girl again? Where were her parents? Vague memories flitted just out of reach, blurred by her regressing mental state. She trembled and sniffed back tears, confused and disoriented by her situation.
The scientist approached her slowly. "There there," he said in a soothing tone. "Everything is alright, little one. We're your friends." Mary shook her head, tears spilling down her plump cheeks. "Mama?" she whimpered in a tiny voice. "I want my mama." Her small fingers gripped the chair legs tightly as she tried to stop crying.
The adults exchanged glances. The doctor took Mary's hand and helped her up onto the exam table again, speaking gently to her in calming tones. The nurse brought tissues to dry her tears and wrapped a blanket around her shoulders. Mary clung to it like a security blanket, her thumb drifting toward her mouth. She sniffled and hiccupped, wishing desperately to be big again.
The scientist took more notes, monitoring her mental regression. Though outwardly they were comforting, Mary could sense their clinical detachment. She tried again to speak, to tell them she wanted to go home, but her words came out garbled and confused. Soon she lost the ability to form complex sentences, regressed fully into a frightened toddler.
The Mysterious Donator :
Megan sighed as she ended her Twitch stream for the night. It had been a long day full of chatting with viewers, playing games, and opening fan mail on camera. Streaming was her passion, but it could be exhausting trying to keep up with the chat and entertain her audience all day.
As she got ready for bed, Megan thought about the donation she had received earlier that day. It was the largest tip she had ever gotten - a whopping $500 from a user named "AncientMystery456." She wanted to thank them personally for their generosity, but the donation message just contained a strange link with no explanation.
Megan knew she shouldn't click on sketchy links from strangers, but her curiosity was too powerful. After debating with herself for a few minutes, she finally gave in and clicked on it. Her computer screen flashed blue for a second, then returned to normal. She shrugged, disappointed that nothing seemed to happen.
The next morning, Megan began her usual pre-stream routine. As she was making breakfast, she noticed her clothes felt a little tighter than normal. She must have accidentally shrunk them in the wash, she figured. But when she looked in the mirror, she was shocked to see wrinkles forming on her face that hadn't been there yesterday.
Confused, Megan examined her body more closely. Her skin was sagging, her joints aching. It was as if she had aged 10 years overnight! She panicked, wondering if she had some rare sudden aging disease. Still perplexed, she started her stream as usual, not wanting to alarm her viewers.
"Hey guys! Welcome back," Megan said, greeting her audience. The chat immediately blew up with comments about her appearance.
"Woah what happened???" one user asked.
"Megan are you okay? You look older," said another. More questions and concerned comments continued flooding in.
"I'm not sure what's going on you guys, but I'm fine!" Megan lied, trying to act cheerful. In reality, she felt herself getting weaker by the minute. Her hands were trembling and her back was stooped.
Over the next hour, Megan continued deteriorating rapidly. She struggled to keep up her bubbly persona, but the chat could tell something was seriously wrong. Megan's hair was going grey, her skin sagging more by the second. It was like her entire life was passing before her audience's eyes.
"I don't feel good, I need to end the stream early today," Megan stammered, before disconnecting. This was far worse than just aging - at this rate, she would be elderly by nightfall!
Panicked, Megan drove herself to the hospital, barely able to see over the steering wheel for her hunched posture. The doctors were baffled, saying she seemed to be aging a full year every minute. They could only make her comfortable as her body and mind continued to decline.
Over the next few hours, Megan felt herself becoming frail and confused. Liver spots covered her wrinkled skin, her teeth fell out, her vision faded. Nurses had to remind her where she was and what was happening. Megan's once-youthful spirit was trapped in a withering frame.
By midnight, Megan was 99 years old. She had lived an entire lifetime in a single day. Her organs shut down as she gasped her final breaths. The doctors could not explain what had caused her hyper-accelerated aging. It was a medical mystery.
Meanwhile, Megan's strange demise was going viral online. Footage of her aging rapidly on stream fascinated the internet. People wondered if she had some gene that caused instant aging or if it was an elaborate hoax.
The police searched her home and discovered the mysterious link she had clicked. They traced it back to a strange organization called the Cabal of Chronos. The group claimed responsibility, saying they had cursed her as punishment for being vain and conceited.
Megan's tragic end raised alarms about the dangerous consequences of livestreaming unknown links and accepting donations from strangers. Her story served as a cautionary tale for other young internet stars chasing fame and fortune online. She paid the ultimate price for letting her curiosity override her caution while livestreaming.
The Bull and the Calf:
Troy was known around town as a no-good troublemaker. Ever since he was a teenager, he had a knack for stirring up mischief and mayhem wherever he went. Now in his early twenties, Troy still got a thrill out of pulling dangerous pranks and messing with people.
One night, Troy decided it would be fun to sneak onto Old Man Johnson's farm and go cow tipping. He waited until the dead of night when all was quiet and snuck through the back fields until he reached the barn. Troy knew Old Man Johnson kept his prized dairy cows in the first few stalls. He tiptoed up to the first sleeping cow and gave it a firm shove, giggling as the cow let out a startled moo and toppled over onto its side.
Emboldened, Troy moved on to the next cow and pushed it over too. But when he got to the third stall, Troy realized this was no cow, but a large aggressive bull. Before Troy could react, the bull snorted angrily and charged at him. Troy cried out and tried to scramble away, but the massive bull rammed him violently, sending him flying into a nearby barrel of fresh milk.
Dazed, Troy tried to stand up but slippped and splashed around in the thick, creamy milk that came up to his chest. As he flailed around, he felt the milk soak into his clothes and skin. An odd tingling sensation spread throughout his body. Troy gasped as he felt his bones and muscles start to shift and contract.
Looking down in horror, Troy realized his hands were shrinking and morphing into hooves. Coarse brown fur was sprouting all over his body as his limbs shortened. He opened his mouth to scream but only a startled "Moo!" came out. Troy could only watch helplessly as his body transformed. His clothes drifted away and he dropped onto four wobbly legs. Within moments, Troy had been completely transformed into a young female dairy calf.
The bull snorted in satisfaction at the sight of the new calf and went back to sleep. Troy the calf blinked around in confusion. She tried to remember who she was and how she'd gotten there, but her thoughts were growing simpler by the minute. All she knew was that she felt safe and warm next to the great bull and among the other dairy cows.
Soon, Troy's memories of being a human faded entirely. Her mind was now that of a happy, playful calf. When Old Man Johnson came to milk the cows in the morning, he was surprised to find an extra baby calf in with his dairy herd. "Well now, where did you come from little one?" he murmured.
The calf just stared and flicked her tail. "Hmm, I think I'll call you Trixie," the farmer decided, patting the calf gently. Trixie was perfectly content to stay on the farm with her new family. She frolicked and played with the other calves under the watchful eye of the older cows.
Trixie quickly grew into a healthy and beautiful heifer over the next few years. She was the friendliest and most productive milker in Johnson's herd. The mysterious troublemaker named Troy was never heard from again in town. But Old Man Johnson gained a new prized addition to his dairy herd. And Trixie the cow lived a long, happy life giving creamy milk on the farm. She never remembered her life as Troy the tumultuous troublemaker. Only Old Man Johnson still wondered what had happened that night years ago to leave him with such a fine new calf named Trixie.
Youthful once more:
Marcy awoke that morning feeling every bit her 85 years. Her joints ached as she slowly shuffled to the bathroom. She stared at the wrinkled visage looking back at her in the mirror and sighed. Another day of feeling weak and helpless awaited her.
That is, until Lori arrived. Lori was Marcy's caretaker who came by daily to help her with household chores and errands. At 25, Lori was vibrant, beautiful, and full of youth. Everything Marcy wished she could be again. An idea began to form in Marcy's mind. A way to regain what she had lost.
When Lori arrived, she found Marcy already dressed and sitting in the living room. "You're up early today Marcy! Ready to get started?" Lori said cheerfully. Marcy nodded and gestured for Lori to sit down. As Lori settled onto the couch, Marcy began chanting under her breath in a strange language. Before Lori could react, she was immobilized, her body frozen in place.
Marcy continued her incantation, her eyes locked on Lori. Slowly, almost imperceptibly at first, the changes began. Marcy's wispy white hair began to thicken and darken to a lustrous brown. Her wrinkled skin smoothed and tightened. Age spots faded away to reveal glowing, youthful skin.
At the same time, Lori experienced the opposite transformation. Her glowing skin wrinkled and sagged before Marcy's eyes. Lori's blonde hair faded to gray then pure white. Though frozen, panic flashed in her eyes as she realized what was happening. The spell was siphoning away her youth and transferring it to Marcy.
After ten minutes, the spell was complete. Where the elderly Marcy once sat was now a radiant, 25-year-old woman. Lori had aged sixty years in a matter of minutes, her body now weak and frail. Marcy smiled triumphantly before chanting the release incantation to free Lori from paralysis.
Lori's aged body slumped forward as she was released. She looked at her gnarled hands in horror. "What...what have you done to me?" Lori cried out in a quavering voice.
"I've taken back what's mine," Marcy said firmly. Though her voice was youthful, her eyes held the weight of all her 85 years of experience.
Lori struggled unsteadily to her feet, leaning heavily on her walker. "You can't do this Marcy! This is wrong. Please, reverse the spell," Lori pleaded.
Marcy stepped forward and placed a patronizing pat on Lori's hunched shoulder. "It's too late for that my dear. But I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. I'm sure you'll get used to it soon enough."
With that, Marcy briskly walked to the guest bedroom where she had already packed her belongings. She took one last look around the home she had lived in for decades, then walked out the front door without a backwards glance.
Lori could only watch helplessly as Marcy drove away, setting off to start her new life of youth and freedom. Lori sank back onto the couch, despair washing over her. She was trapped in Marcy's aged body with no one to care for her. And no idea how to reverse what had been done.
Over the next few days, Lori struggled to adjust to her new reality. Simple tasks like making tea and getting dressed left her exhausted. Her mind was foggy and forgetful. She found herself reading the same paragraphs over and over, unable to focus.
The worst part was the loneliness. Her family and friends didn't recognize her in this aged body. The police didn't believe her story about the body swap spell. She was well and truly alone.
As the days turned into weeks, Lori settled into a routine in Marcy's house. She spent most days sitting on the porch, looking out at the world through rheumy eyes. Her anger toward Marcy had faded to a dull resignation. In quiet moments, she wondered where Marcy was now, and if she was enjoying the youth she had stolen.
Someday, Lori hoped the spell might reverse on its own. But until then, she continued her slow, simple life as an 85 year old woman. Her only company the memories of the vibrant young woman she used to be.
Be careful in who you bully:
Chad marched onto the field, helmet under his arm, ready to lead his team to another victory. As quarterback and star player, all eyes were on him as he commanded the huddle.
"Blue 42, blue 42, hut, hut, hike!" Chad called out. The ball was snapped and he dropped back to pass. Scanning the field, he saw his receiver break open across the middle. Chad wound up and threw a perfect spiral. Suddenly, everything went fuzzy. The ball wobbled and fell harmlessly to the turf.
Chad shook his head, trying to clear the cobwebs. What was happening? He tried to yell out the next play but his voice came out a garbled squeal. Looking down, Chad saw his arms growing pink and swollen. Stiff bristles poked out of his skin. His helmet crashed to the ground as his neck thickened. He could only watch in horror as his body ballooned to grotesque proportions. Chad fell to all fours as his hands and feet shriveled into tiny hooves.
Inside, Chad panicked as his mind grew foggy. He tried to cry out but only managed a pitiful squeal. Vaguely, he was aware of screaming and commotion all around him. But the thoughts slipped away like water through a sieve, replaced by a dim, sluggish consciousness. His only urge was to eat and wallow in the mud.
Chad the pig snuffled along the grass, oblivious to the chaos around him. The other football players were transforming too. The halfback squealed in terror as he shrank and sprouted feathers. The linebackers grunted in confusion as they dropped to all fours, growing stout and barrel-bodied. Snouts pushed out from their faces and curly tails sprouted from their rear ends. Within moments, the entire offensive line had turned into a herd of milling, squealing pigs.
The defensive backs and receivers were not spared either. Some gasped in shock as they became sheep, instinctively flocking together and bleating. Others shrank smaller, becoming chickens and scattering in a feathered frenzy. The cows that used to be linemen gazed dumbly and chewed their cud.
On the sidelines, the cheerleaders underwent their own bizarre transformations. Their slim, athletic bodies swelled grotesquely, morphing into all manner of barnyard beasts. The head cheerleader glanced down in horror to see her hands morph into feathered wings as her face hardened into a beak. "Bwaak!" she squawked, flapping her wings. Beside her, a sheep and a spotted pig that used to be cheerleaders gazed obliviously at the chaotic scene.
In the stands, the crowd erupted into pandemonium. Parents and fans gasped and yelled as they watched the nightmarish scene unfold before their eyes. Many rushed for the exits while others stared transfixed in shock and horror.
"My baby! What's happening to my boy?" cried Chad's mother. Chad's father gaped wordlessly as he watched his son waddle across the field, sniffing at the grass. Nearby, other parents recognized their transformed children.
"That cow's wearing Johnny's jersey!"
"That's my Emily! She's a chicken!"
"Barry's a pig now too!"
On and on it went, as player after player changed. Soon the football field was filled with milling livestock of all kinds, with no trace of their human selves remaining. The crowd screamed and stampeded for the exits. But before they could flee, a strange pulse rippled through the stadium.
A sinister laugh echoed across the field. All eyes turned to see Clara, an outcast student, standing at the edge of the bleachers. "You've bullied me for the last time!" she cried. Chad's piggy eyes widened in dim recognition at the voice of the girl he had teased earlier that day. Clara held up an ancient, leather-bound book, its pages inscribed with glowing arcane symbols.
"My mother's spellbook will make you pay!" she shouted with twisted glee. Clara cackled and chanted a string of harsh, hissing words. Sickly purple light overflowed from the book, washing over the stadium. The scattered animals paused in their aimless wandering to stare vacantly at Clara's display of power.
Another ripple went through the crowd and the remaining humans dropped to the ground. More animalistic cries of shock and fear rang out as the spell hit them too. The stampede for the exit became a barnyard free-for-all. Goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, cows, and all manner of beasts ran. Soon everyone at the game had been turn into random farm animals leaving only Clara as the remaining human.
Joining the festival:
Jacob and Meredith shuffled through the crowded streets of San Francisco, wrinkling their noses at the brightly colored flags and scantily clad revelers. The couple, both in their late 80s, had booked this weekend getaway months ago without realizing it coincided with the city's famous Pride celebrations.
"Disgusting," Jacob grumbled, glaring at two men walking hand-in-hand. "No decency whatsoever."
Meredith clung to her husband's arm. "I wish we had known about this. We never would have come here this weekend."
As they continued down the sidewalk, parade participants danced and sang around them. Drag queens sashayed by in glitzy costumes. Leather-clad bikers revved their engines. Jacob and Meredith kept their eyes focused straight ahead, refusing to acknowledge the festivities.
"Abominations!" Jacob shouted at a pack of exuberant lesbians. The women just laughed and blew kisses in return.
Meredith shook her head in dismay. "This younger generation has no moral values. I don't know what the world is coming to."
Before long, the elderly couple found themselves face-to-face with a tall, androgynous person wearing ripped jeans and a rainbow tank top. "What seems to be the problem, grandpa and grandma?" the person asked with a smirk. "You two look a little lost."
"We want no part of this vulgar spectacle!" Jacob yelled, waving his cane in the air. "We're decent, God-fearing folks."
The person's eyes flashed with anger. "There's nothing indecent about love and celebration. But hatred and judgement have no place here."
They held up their hands and whispered strange words under their breath. Jacob and Meredith staggered back, suddenly feeling dizzy and disoriented. The street scene blurred around them.
When their vision cleared, they found themselves looking out through different eyes. Smooth, unwrinkled hands reached up to touch unfamiliar young faces. Gone were their aging bodies, replaced by lithe, vibrant forms.
"What...what happened?" Meredith stammered, but her voice sounded lighter, feminine. She gazed down to see she was wearing a rainbow-striped tank top and cutoff jean shorts.
Jacob ran his hands through his thick dark hair, no longer thin and gray. "I have no idea, but I feel...different." His gruff tone had been replaced by a soft, lilting voice.
Meredith spotted a store window and rushed over to examine her reflection. Staring back at her was a pretty brunette in her early 20s, makeup perfectly applied and long hair flowing over her shoulders. "Jacob, look!" she cried. "We're young again!"
Jacob joined Meredith at the window, similarly shocked to see a handsome young man gazing back at him. "This is crazy," he murmured. But along with their transformed appearances, their attitudes and memories had changed as well.
"What do you think happened...honey?" Jacob asked uncertainly. The word felt natural rolling off his tongue even though he couldn't recall being married before.
Meredith grinned and threw her arms around Jacob in a warm embrace. "Who cares? We're here now together for Pride!" She gestured excitedly at the crowds around them. "This is going to be so much fun!"
Jacob laughed, feeling joyful and free. "You're right, darling. I don't know what I was so uptight about before. Let's make the most of this beautiful day!"
Hand-in-hand, the beaming couple made their way through the parade, now cheering alongside everyone else. As Jasmine and Melody, they fit right in with the other celebrants - two young women in love and thrilled to show it.
The magic had erased all traces of their former identities, replacing Jacob and Meredith's prejudices with open hearts. Their only thoughts now were of enjoying the festival to the fullest, appreciating each moment they had together.
As the sun set over the city, Jasmine pulled Melody in for a passionate kiss. "Happy Pride, my love," she whispered.
"Happy Pride," Melody answered, her eyes gleaming. "Here's to many more with you."
Arm in arm, they headed off to continue the celebrations, leaving no trace of the bitter couple who had wandered those streets just hours before. Love had triumphed over hate, and Jasmine and Melody vowed to live their lives loudly, proudly, and happily ever after.
The Trip that never ended:
Gregory could hardly contain his excitement as he and his six closest friends embarked on their annual camping trip. They had been planning this excursion for months - a long weekend deep in the hills to disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature.
The hike up to their campsite was challenging but beautiful. Lush greenery and massive trees surrounded them on all sides. Birdsong and the buzzing of insects filled the fresh forest air. As the sun began to set, the group finally found the perfect clearing to set up camp. They quickly put up their tents and got a fire going before night fell.
Settling in around the warm glow of the campfire, the friends traded stories and jokes late into the evening. Eventually they turned in, exhausted from the day's hike but happy to be on this adventure together.
The next morning, Gregory awoke feeling oddly energized. He stepped out of his tent, taking a deep breath of crisp morning air. The sounds of the forest were already alive and buzzing. As he went to rouse his still-slumbering friends, Gregory had the strangest sensation overcome him. He suddenly felt an intense connection with this place - like he was a part of the forest itself.
Shrugging it off, he managed to get everyone up and fed. They spent the morning lazily exploring the area around their campsite. But as the day wore on, Gregory's friends started acting peculiar. Andy kept stopping to munch on grass. Jen repeatedly tried to climb the trees. Will dug a burrow beneath his tent. Strangest of all, it didn't seem to strike any of them as unusual behavior.
That night around the campfire, Gregory again got the feeling that something mystical was at play. The flames seemed to dance and speak to him. The wind whispered secrets in a language he could suddenly understand. His friends twitched and fidgeted around him, casting wary glances into the darkness of the woods.
By the third day of their trip, Gregory understood that the magic of this forest was transforming him and his friends. Andy had grown antlers. Jen was covered in bark and leaves. Will sniffed at the ground on all fours. They foraged for nuts and berries, chittered and grunted as if the human language had left them. And Gregory realized he was changing too - his senses were sharper, sounds and smells he'd never noticed before jumped out at him. He felt his humanity slipping away, giving in to pure animal instinct.
On their final night camping, Gregory wanted to fight against the enchantment of the forest. But looking around the fire at his friends - no, his newfound family - he embraced the magic instead. He let it wash over him, erase his former identity, and replace it wholly with this new existence.
As the sun rose on the last day, where the campsite had been there remained only scattered gear. The fire pit was trampled and cold. But the forest was alive with new inhabitants. Birds flitted between the branches. Mice scurried through the underbrush. In a den beneath the great trees, a family of badgers now made their home. And if one listened closely to the breeze winding its way through the woods, it seemed to whisper the names of seven friends who were now at one with the natural world. The forest's magic had welcomed them, and they had let it transform them completely.
The Bug-Storm:
Todd and his three friends were walking home from the mall when the first raindrops started to fall. "Uh oh, looks like it's starting to rain," said Marcy, glancing up at the dark clouds overhead.
"We better pick up the pace if we don't want to get soaked!" said Lucas. The four friends hurried their steps, hoping to get home before the storm really hit.
But it was too late. Only a few minutes later, the clouds opened up and rain began pouring down in sheets. "Oh man, we're gonna get drenched!" yelled James over the sound of the downpour.
They were already soaked to the bone by the time they reached the downtown area. "Let's duck in here and wait out the storm," said Todd, pointing to an empty storefront. The four dripping friends gratefully crowded inside the doorway.
"Well, that came out of nowhere," said Marcy with a shiver, wrapping her arms around herself.
"Yeah, the weather report didn't say anything about a major storm today," said Lucas. "This is weird."
Weird was right, thought Todd. The rain was falling harder than he'd ever seen it, and was a strange slightly purple color. And was it his imagination, or did the rain drops look...thicker...somehow?
He didn't have long to ponder this before the changes started. First Lucas shrieked, staring down at his hands and feet. "What's happening to me?!" he cried. His limbs were growing long segmented plates and his torso was shriveling. Lucas collapsed to the ground, no longer able to stand on his two human legs.
Marcy and James backed away in horror. Lucas continued to transform before their eyes, until where their friend had stood just moments before was an enormous centipede.
"This can't be real!" Marcy screamed. As she did, Todd noticed cockroach-like antennae beginning to sprout from her head.
James started scratching frantically at his skin, which was losing its pink color and turning into a slimy, wet sheen. "It's the rain!" he gasped. "The rain is turning us into bugs!"
Todd looked down and saw that his own body was bloating to an unnatural size, while his limbs were getting shorter. He could feel his intellect fading, primal snail instincts taking over his human thoughts.
Soon, all four friends had completed their horrific transformations. Where four humans had taken shelter just minutes earlier, there was now a giant centipede, cockroach, worm, and snail. Their minds were almost completely insect-like now too.
The rain continued to fall for several more hours as the creatures slithered and crawled aimlessly around the storefront. Finally, the skies cleared. The next morning, four sets of clothes lay abandoned in the doorway - the only evidence left of the four unfortunate teens.
Days later, a news report came out about a freak rainstorm that had been accidentally created by a nearby lab. The scientists had been testing a new weather manipulation device, intending to produce simple rain showers. Instead, it had somehow generated a powerful downpour laced with experimental chemicals - chemicals that could apparently mutate living creatures into insect forms.
The government quickly covered up the incident. But the urban legend of the four friends who were transformed into bugs lived on in local lore. On dark stormy nights, some claim they still see a centipede, cockroach, worm, and snail creeping about the old downtown shopping district together. Though the poor creatures no longer have any memory of once being human.
Wanted more respect from everyone:
Sarah sighed as she looked in the mirror of the dingy bathroom at Hooters. She was by far the smallest and plainest of all the waitresses, and she knew it. While the other girls raked in tips with their tight shirts and flirty laughs, Sarah was lucky to get a couple bucks from the drunken customers who could barely see straight.
She splashed some water on her face and took a deep breath. She needed this job - the tips, as measly as they were, helped pay for her tiny apartment and community college classes. If she was prettier, funnier, flirtier...maybe she would make better money. But she wasn't any of those things. Sarah was shy, quiet, and a bit nerdy. Not Hooters material at all.
An idea popped into Sarah's mind. Maybe she could cast a spell - just a small one - to get some of the best attributes from her coworkers. A little bit of Tasha's long legs here, a touch of Amy's flirty laugh there. Just enough to get better tips, not enough to cause any real harm.
Sarah wasn't sure if the spell would work, but it was worth a try. That night after her shift, she gathered candles and herbs from her tiny apartment. She lit the candles in a circle and began chanting the words she found online. As she chanted, she pictured each coworker and focused on the attributes she wanted to copy. Tasha's legs. Amy's laugh. Gina's large breasts. Maggie's charm.
At first, nothing happened. Sarah felt foolish standing in her apartment chanting nonsense. But suddenly, she began to tingle all over. It started in her toes and traveled up her body, until her whole body vibrated with magic. When it stopped, Sarah caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror.
She gasped. The spell had worked! Sort of. Sarah now had Tasha's long, toned legs and Gina's large breasts spilling out of her top. But she also had Maggie's harsh, angular features and Amy's bleached blonde hair. As she studied her reflection, Sarah felt dizzy. Her thoughts grew foggy, and all she could think about was makeup, tight clothes, and getting a man to buy her a drink.
Over the next few days, the transformation continued. Sarah's voice became higher and her laugh more of a giggle. She started wearing tighter, more revealing clothing to work. The customers ate it up, shoving dollar bills into her top and begging for her number. Her timidness faded away, replaced byconfidence. But it was a dumb, empty confidence. Sarah knew she was becoming just another bubbly bimbo, but she didn't care. She finally felt sexy and free.
Soon, Sarah's apartment was littered with makeup, skimpy outfits, and tacky jewelry. She started skipping classes to go tanning or get her nails done. Her speech became peppered with "likes" and "whatevers." She felt hollow inside, but she plastered on a smile and giggled through her shifts.
One night, Sarah looked in the mirror and didn't recognize the girl staring back. Big hair, dramatic makeup, massive breasts spilling out of a tiny top. She knew this girl was not who she wanted to be. But the spell could not be reversed. This was who she was now - just another stereotypical bimbo waitress.
Sarah shook her head sadly. She had only wanted to better her life, to gain a little confidence and respect. But her desperation had turned her into someone completely different. someone she didn't even like. A single tear rolled down her cheek, streaking her heavy mascara. She wiped it away angrily, then headed off to another mindless shift at Hooters - giggling artificially and shaking what the spell had given her. Deep down, the real Sarah screamed for a way out. But on the surface, she just smiled blankly and counted her tips.
The Basic Girl Flavor:
Pete sighed as he stepped into the crowded Starbucks, instantly overwhelmed by the smell of coffee and baked goods. The line stretched nearly out the door, full of tired looking professionals clutching their work bags and students glued to their phones.
As he took his place at the back of the queue, Pete's eyes landed on a girl near the front who was energetically chatting on her phone. She couldn't have been more than twenty, dressed in a pink furry jacket, Ugg boots, and leggings. In one hand she held a PSL, long acrylic nails clicking against the side of the cup as she gesticulated with her free hand.
Pete snorted derisively. A basic girl if he ever saw one. He could practically smell the Bath and Body Works perfume from where he stood.
After what felt like an eternity, Pete finally reached the front of the line. As he stepped up to place his order, the bubbly girl with the PSL breezed past him, finished with her conversation.
"Um, excuse me?" Pete said sharply. "There's a line here you just cut, basic."
The girl stopped in her tracks, turning to fix him with an icy blue stare. "What did you just call me?"
"You heard me," Pete said with a smirk. "I called you basic. Next time wait your turn like everyone else."
The girl's shocked look darkened into a scowl. "Do you know who you're talking to right now?" She took a step toward Pete, looking him slowly up and down with distaste.
Pete crossed his arms over his chest defiantly. "Yeah, some basic girl who thinks she can cut the line and get away with it."
The girl's eyes flashed dangerously. "You'll regret this," she said in a low voice. Then she turned on her heel and strode furiously out of the Starbucks, nearly bowling over a man coming through the entrance in her haste.
Pete watched her go, then rolled his eyes and stepped up to place his order. What a drama queen. He soon forgot about the encounter as he grabbed his drink and settled down at a table in the corner to work.
About half an hour later, a strange tingling sensation came over Pete's body. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, setting down his laptop as it intensified. It felt almost like electricity humming just under his skin.
"What the..." Pete muttered, looking down at his hands - except they weren't his hands. They were dainty and feminine, his ragged nails replaced by an immaculate french manicure.
He gasped, only to then realize his voice had risen several octaves into a distinctly girlish tone. Frantically, Pete grabbed his phone from his pocket but the screen displayed an unfamiliar lock screen - it was a selfie of the same girl from before.
No, not the same girl, Pete realized with dawning horror. Him. Somewhere in the course of the last thirty minutes he had become that girl.
Pete stumbled to the bathroom, barely recognizing the visage staring back at him from the mirror. The basic girl's face looked at him with wide, frightened eyes. He was even wearing her ridiculous outfit, right down to the fuzzy jacket.
"No no no, this can't be happening," Pete squeaked, gripping the sides of the sink. He thought back to the confrontation with the girl earlier. "You'll regret this," she had said. Could she have... cursed him somehow? The idea was absurd, and yet the proof was right in front of him.
Pete rushed back out to his table, grabbing the girl's - his - phone again. He had to call for help. But who would ever believe such a wild story? As he searched desperately for someone, anyone, to call, his mind grew foggy.
The phone nearly slipped from Pete's hand as an odd sensation came over him. He could feel memories that weren't his own flooding his mind, overwriting his real identity. His likes and dislikes changed - suddenly he loved the smell of vanilla, couldn't imagine leaving the house without mascara, lived for Thursday nights out with the girls.
"No, fight it!" Pete said through gritted teeth. But it was too late. The curse was accelerating, erasing every trace of Pete and replacing him entirely with this basic girl. Her name was...Brittany. And Brittany didn't have time for boys like Pete. She had to get home to get ready for the club tonight.
With a dreamy smile, Brittany gathered up her things and headed for the door. She paused to take a selfie, making sure her makeup looked perfect before stepping out.
The Snake life:
Natalie hummed along to the radio as she scrubbed the glass enclosure of the snake habitat at the zoo. She loved her job as a reptile caretaker, finding the snakes both beautiful and fascinating. Their smooth, sinuous movements never failed to mesmerize her.
As she cleaned, her gaze lingered on Marcia, the zoo's resident female boa constrictor. Nearly twenty feet long, the massive snake lay coiled in the corner of her enclosure, flicking her tongue lazily.
Natalie smiled. "Good morning, beautiful," she murmured, though she knew Marcia neither understood nor cared about human pleasantries.
Finished with the glass, Natalie unlocked the habitat door and slipped inside. Marcia watched warily but made no move to strike as Natalie got to work tidying the branches and logs.
Natalie gasped as her finger brushed against something sharp - a broken snake egg, camouflaged against the bedding. A thin line of blood welled up and she stuck her finger in her mouth, sucking away the pain.
"Ouch, that smarts," she grumbled. Natalie finished up quickly and locked the enclosure behind her, making a mental note to clean up the remaining egg fragments later. She bandaged her finger and went about the rest of her workday.
Over the next few days, Natalie felt increasingly sluggish and nauseous. Her body ached all over and she struggled to keep down food. At first she thought it was the flu, but this seemed different. More primal.
Looking in the mirror one morning, Natalie stumbled back in shock. Were her pupils always so slit-like? She stared at her reflection, heart pounding. This wasn't right. What was happening to her?
Natalie called in sick to work. As the days passed, the changes accelerated. Her eyes shifted to a luminous amber. Her limbs lengthened, becoming more flexible. Smooth green scales patterned her skin.
One morning Natalie awoke to find a long, forked tongue flicking from her lips. She screamed, but it came out as more of a hiss.
She knew then what was happening, though it seemed impossible. When she'd cut her finger on the broken snake egg, its embryonic fluids must have entered her bloodstream. The foreign DNA was overwriting her own, transforming her into a snake from the inside out.
Natalie sobbed, terror and despair warring within her. But the hissing sobs sounded almost...relieved. As if part of her welcomed this metamorphosis.
Over the next week, Natalie became more lethargic and snake-like. She slithered rather than walked. Her mind grew foggy as primal instincts took over.
The zoo, she thought, staring out her window. She must get back to the reptile house. It called to her.
Natalie crept through the night on all fours, no longer trusting her legs alone. She easily broke into her old workplace, homing in on the now-familiar snake enclosure.
Marcia lifted her head curiously but did not move to stop Natalie as she slipped inside. Natalie's tongue flicked out, sensing the warmth of the snake's body. She curled up contentedly on the heated rocks, finally able to relax. This place felt like home.
Over the next few days, Natalie shed her clothes and humanity. She became wholly serpentine, communicating with Marcia in a language beyond words. Marcia seemed to accept Natalie's presence, perhaps sensing her as kin.
The regression accelerated. Natalie grew smaller and weaker, until she could only lay limply in her coil. Her eyes clouded over and her organs withered inside her. She was reverting to an embryonic state, her DNA's original programming reasserting itself.
Soon Natalie blacked out, encapsulated inside a leathery egg. Inside she continued to change, memories fading away. Gone was any concept of "Natalie." There was only snake.
Weeks later, the egg trembled and cracked. A tiny snout emerged, sniffing the air. Slick and new, the baby snake slid from her egg, tasting her environment with quick flicks of her tongue.
The giant snake nearby was familiar now, an anchor. The baby slithered into her coils, feeling warm and safe. This was home.
All was normal and right in her simple world. The baby snake settled in contentedly, ready to grow.
