It was a hot day in the desert of Arizona. An American State. Four young men set off to go hiking at Arches National Park. The men were Lucas, Mike, Seth, and Toby. They went exploring to look at the beautiful desert arches. The four young men were very adventurous and were always looking for some kind of adventure. They set off in search of the perfect spot to camp for the night. Unfortunately for the four friends, they quickly realized that they were hopelessly lost in the desert. With the sun starting to set. Mike, Lucas, Seth, And Toby were getting desperate. They knew they had to find shelter or they would all surely perish. They searched frantically for any sign of civilization, but soon realized that they were completely alone in the wilderness. Desperate to find some water and shelter, the four friends began to argue amongst themselves. They were all hot, thirsty, and exhausted from searching for hours with no success. Lucas was the first one to speak up, “We need to think logically about this. Let's follow some sort of plan or we will all die out here!” As they watched Toby transform, they all panicked. Toby was getting bigger and bigger until he was completely unrecognizable to them. He was now a full size camel with big, rough, leathery bumps all over his fur. Lucas then yelled out “We need to go! We can’t stay here!” Toby let out a roar and the four friends all turned and began to run. As they ran, the sun set and the sky became dark. It was now night-time in the desert and the temperature was beginning to drop rapidly. As Mike was transforming he yelled "Help!! What happen me!!!". The others were terrified as they watched their friend turn into a rattlesnake right before their eyes. "How can this be happening?!", said Lucas "and how is Toby still alive!?". Toby looked back at them with his big, yellow camel eyes, while the rattlesnake that was once Mike writhed and slithered on the ground. "There's no time to waste!" yelled Seth. As they ran across the desert the temperature dropped drastically. As Lucas looked back he saw the rattlesnake that was once Mike chasing them. Lucas yelled “We have to get out of here! Mike is after us!” As they ran they came upon a large rocky area with little to no vegetation, but a lot of rock formations. Lucas came up with the idea of hiding inside a rock formation that was large enough for them to all squeeze into. They quickly crept into the darkness and hid. As they hid inside the rocky formation, the temperature continued to drop rapidly. Lucas looked back and saw Seth slowly transforming and he cried out "Seth?! What is happening to you!? Is it the same thing that happened to Mike and Toby?". Seth cried out in pain as he transformed and started curling into a Scorpion coil on the ground. "Lucas please! Help me!!", Seth cried out in pain and desperation. Lucas was terrified and didn't know what to do, and he heard the rattlesnake that was once Mike getting closer. Lucas kept running in fear but he turned his head back one last time and he saw the rattlesnake about to strike.. Lucas then grabs the rattlesnake that was once his friend and threw him into a hole that was connected to a underground river. Lucas now continues to run after looking back and seeing that Seth was halfway through his transformation. Lucas was exhausted and thought he was finally safe. He sat down on a rock in the cold desert and stared at the darkness around him. He was alone and scared. He thought about his friends who were now gone forever and he started to cry. He didn’t understand what had happened to them and he felt guilty for leaving Seth behind. He knew he had to keep moving if he had any chance of surviving the night, so he forced himself to get up and continue on his way. With every step his worries only grew greater. The more he thought about his friends the more he feared that he would never see them again. Lucas screamed in pain and fear as he watched his arms turn into feathers. He was now in the same situation as Mike and Toby. The transformation process was painful and terrifying, but it seemed there was nothing he could do to stop it. He cried out for help and yelled "Help me! What's happening to me!? Anyone!!!". As time passed Lucas's transformation was complete and he was now a big, gray, ostrich with a beak and big, yellow eyes, standing on long legs and with large, feathery wings. Lucas, Seth, Toby and Mike are now fully transformed. Toby is a Camel, Mike is a Rattlesnake, Seth is a Scorpion, and Lucas is a Ostrich. All four have forgotten about ever being human and now live the life of wild animals in the desert. Lucas has fully transformed and is now a big, gray, ostrich with long legs and large, feathery wings. He has a beak and big, yellow eyes. Lucas has now adapted to the harsh environment and lives off of the land. He finds his new life as an ostrich to be much easier in some ways than his previous one as a human.

Epilogue for each of the characters:

Toby: Toby, the Camel, survives in the desert. He spends his days grazing and living the life of a wild animal. He is a strong camel and can survive in the extreme heat and cold of the desert. He is a survivor and is well adapted to the harsh environment he now calls home. Toby survives and thrive as a wild camel.

Mike: Mike, the Rattlesnake, survives in the desert. He spends his days slithering through the sand and hunting for prey. He is a highly venomous and dangerous snake who knows how to use his dangerous venom to his advantage. Mike is an excellent predator and hunter and Mike is an excellent predator and hunter and uses his venom to quickly and easily subdue his prey. Mike survives in the desert by hunting and using his venom. He is a highly dangerous and venomous snake who takes no prisoners in the wild. Mike survives as a rattlesnake in the desert.

Seth: Seth, the Scorpion, survives in the desert. He spends his days hiding in the shadows and taking shelter in rocky shelters. Seth is a deadly predator and uses his powerful scorpion stinger to defend himself and hunt for food. He is a dangerous and deadly creature who is well adapted to the harsh environment of the desert. Seth survives and thrives as Seth survives and thrives as a scorpion in the desert. He is a deadly predator who uses his powerful scorpion stinger to defend himself and hunt for food. Lucas: Lucas lives a long life and continues to survive in the desert. He is an excellent runner and can outrun most predators. He is a strong and healthy ostrich who spends his days running across the sandy dunes and looking for food. Lucas is very well adapted to his life as an ostrich and he lives a long and prosperous life in the desert.
