Another sequel story this time around, in this case to  Kinktober 2020 - Day Thirty - Hitch-Hiker/TrainIt was well past midnight in Spire City, and even from this distance, the exterior lights of the many great towers for which the metropolis was named glittered so brightly in the darkness they overwhelmed the very stars dotting the clear autumn sky. The Busiek Centennial Bridge was likewise bathed in light, the normal illumination present along the railway bridge unexpectedly bolstered by the immense floodlights levelled at a point along the central span, and beneath their powerful glow, Helena Tseng bit back a growl of frustration, the thought someone might witness her helplessness provoking a blush of embarrassment across her porcelain features. Case in point…“You look simply ravishing.”Fuming, Helena swore at the gangling figure in rags that eyed her from his seat upon the steel railing, the length of black cloth bound between her teeth distorting it to a wordless grunt. Lengths of rope pulled her arms above her head and held her fast to the rails at the wrists and ankles, while the additional coils wrapped around her thighs and beneath her breasts further emphasized her shapely figure beneath the flattering black cocktail dress she wore. Grubby hands reached out to stroke her long, raven-black locks, and the Asian woman twisted her head away to evade them, brown eyes staring daggers at her captor. “Are you enjoying your evening, my pretty? I know I am.”More muffled curses escaped past the gag, and the rag-clad figure laughed maniacally, dancing about her in a mocking jig. “There’s no need for such language,” the Hitch-Hiker chided, wagging a mocking finger at her. Spire City’s latest supervillain was in fine fettle that evening, for it was not every day that he left over a hundred of the city’s notables bereft of their jewels and valuables, all while snagging a beautiful hostage in the bargain. “I’m just indulging in the chance to make an old dream of mine come true. After all, what kind of self-respecting supervillain wouldn’t take the opportunity to tie a beautiful maiden to the railroad tracks?”The Hitch-Hiker gave another maniacal laugh beneath the tattered shroud of his hood, and Helena felt her skin crawl, cursing the moment she ever fell into his power. Since first appearing three months ago, the Hitch-Hiker had cut a swathe of terror throughout Spire City. His most frequent ploy, and the one for which he’d assumed his name, was to pose as a helpless beggar in need of some change or a ride to the nearest homeless shelter in order to lure his victims into complacency before striking. At least once a week, the Spire City Metropolitan Police would find some woman left bound, gagged, stripped naked and dumped on the side of the road, but alive, after the Hitch-Hiker had made off with their cars and possessions, with both the vehicle and villain disappearing without a trace shortly thereafter. The ragged garb he wore was merely an act. This was no mere carjacker acting out of desperation, but a career criminal: precise, resourceful and methodical. Not even the Spire Guardians, the famed five superheroines who defended the city, had yet to discover his identity, much to their frustration.Much to her frustration. For by day, Helena Tseng was a world-famous composer, patron of youth arts programs across Spire City, and magnate to the world-spanning Tseng shipping company, while by night, she stalked the rooftops and streets as Nightshadow, striking fear into the hearts of evildoers with her control over darkness and skill in martial arts. She’d been attending a charity gathering to raise funds for a new children’s hospital when the Hitch-Hiker and his gang had burst in. There’d been no time to change into her costume before being taken hostage, and far too many witnesses around to manifest her shadow powers, so if nothing else, her secret identity was safe. At least, I hope, Helena thought, glancing upwards at the floodlights. Powerful light sources could weaken her powers, disrupting her shadow form and forcing her back into her human state. Intentionally or not, the Hitch-Hiker had brought the perfect countermeasure to nullify her abilities and render her helpless, and fear began to take hold, the feeling of being left powerless in his clutches more than she could stand. And then she felt the rails beneath her quiver, and her stomach dropped at the sound of metal screeching against metal, distant yet coming closer with every passing moment. “Ahh, it seems the night train is actually running on time for once,” remarked the Hitch-Hiker. “If the Spire Guardians are going to come to your rescue, they don’t have a lot of time.”“Mmmmpggh!” Helena screamed, throwing herself against her bonds. At the other end of the bridge came the blare of the train’s horn, the structure rattling with its approach, and for all her frantic struggles, the ropes held her tight. “Mmmmpggh!”“Well, sorry I can’t stick around and see you repaint the front car, but I have to go. Massive crime waves don’t plan themselves, you know. Still, it’s been a pleasure. Au revoir!”Offering a mocking bow, the Hitch-Hiker darted down the length of the bridge and out of sight, filth-encrusted robes flapping behind him in the wind. The train’s horn a deafening scream, Helena fought on to escape, hoping against hope her teammates would arrive in the nick of time. After enduring a lousy cliché, it would be nice to experience a good one! . Hope you enjoy, and thank you all for your continued support! It means a lot to me.
