I've really been getting into Brian McClellan's Powder Mage universe lately, with its awesome, flintlock fantasy take on the French Revolution, so the idea of a story featuring a civil uprising and clashing social classes felt let a neat hook upon which to base this latest entry. I think the character of Miranda du Lac turned out pretty well too, and I'm definitely inspired to write more of her in the future.
