I had a couple different goals for this chapter, among them to give more insights into the characters and further develop the Sagramor/Leliana relationship, but a big one for me was to try and make demons and the Fade threatening again. Amongst my many, many issues with Inquisition (seriously, at some point I might as well compile all of these into a series of essays called "Why Dragon Age Inquisition Licks Goats" :) ) was how utterly unthreatening the Breach Crisis ended up being. You have what is basically the Eye of Terror opening up in the skies above Thedas, hordes of demons rampaging around, all of reality tearing asunder, and aside from the opening mission of the game, none of it feels engaging or particularly scary. Hell, the Breach is even functionally sealed during the first third of the game in a stunning anticlimax (adequately resolving plot points? Why would Bioware ever want to do that?), and aside from maybe the Envy Demon and Crestwood, it all just fizzles out. Hence, my attempts this chapter to more effectively convey the horrors lurking in the Fade, and the danger they pose to the mortal world. Please let me know what you think of it, as it is one of my more dedicated attempts to experiment with adding cosmic horror (or any kind at all) to a more action-adventure focused story, and if you think there's anything I could do to improve.

As you also might imagine, more than a few references to other media in this chapter, including the title. With the Sloth Demon, I was also trying to create a monster that was more Nurgle-esque without turning it into yet another Great Unclean One; the wendigo from Until Dawn were also a big inspiration. I'll also try not to keep you guys waiting as long for the next installment :) Thank you again for your continued support and patience, and let me know what you think of this chapter!
