At the Brentwood Asylum our patient population is predominately made up of wives suffering from hiccups in their behavior (e.g. hysteria, mental exhaustion, unsupervised lesbian behavior). However, there are occasions when we received usual specimens.

Susan Peterson (Aka Guinea Pig #1) was a reporter and a member of the anti-Brentwood, feminist organization Lioness. When Lioness girls are caught trying to infiltrate Brentwood it is the Community Council that determines what to do with them. In the past, the Happy Paws Obedience School usually received captures to break, modify, train, and eventually sell at public auction. Doing so ensured that these confused girls would be unable to hurt themselves and others, while still allowing them to be productive members of society. However, when Susan was caught, the council presented her to the Asylum instead. We were told that on her we could practice experimental therapies and procedures that we wouldn’t dare attempt on most of our patients. After all, most of our patients have owners that would like their property returned to them more-or-less intact and capable of performing her domestic duties!

Guinea Pig #1, or simply “Pig” as I and the orderlies and lab assistants refer to her, does not yet know what we have planned for her. If fortune is with us, what we learn from our experiments on her will no doubt help us in our quest to better understand and help the fragile female mind. Pig came to Brentwood to help women, and she will—just not in the way she thought.
