A California Condor photographed as it lazily circled around Bright Angel Lodge and Gift Shop in the Grand Canyon. There were several condors visible that day, but this one was fairly low over where the visitors to the park. You can see it's tagged #97, which according to the listing from the Park Services is a female.<br /><br />Taken Sept. 4, 2007 with a Nikon D40 camera, stock 18-55mm lens at full zoom. Photoshop CS used to shrink the image to a smaller size for here, no touchups otherwise.
