Lessons in Life, Lessons in Love

part eight... sorta

"Rebecca!  Where's that copy I asked for?"

Rebecca Stamos sighed and went into Fred Barrios' office.  "It's right where you

asked me to put it," she said with a touch of frustration.  "Right there, on the

left corner of your desk."

Fred grunted and picked up the sheets, looking them over without actually

reading them.  "Ok, that's what I needed for the meeting this afternoon."

Wordlessly, he took the paperwork and headed upstairs.  Rebecca watched him

leave, then shook her head.

"Damned idiot," she muttered.  "I swear, he's going to drive people insane with

his demands."

"Or he'll end up getting hauled up alive by the senior management," a voice cut

in.  Rebecca turned to see Mitch Connors standing there, wearing a bit of a

smile.  "In his case, however, he'd probably just chalk it up to the

employees."  He moved closer to her and took a seat.  "So aside from dealing

with Fred's insanity, how are you holding up?"

She let out a sigh.  "I'm surviving, if that's what you're asking.  After work,

I'll probably pick up some Chinese on the way home.  Otherwise, it'll be another

boring night."

---

Actually, aside from the Chinese, Rebecca's life was rather boring.  Being a

general assistant in a financial company wasn't her idea of an up and coming

career, but it helped pay her bills and expenses.  She'd rather a career in

which she was the head of a company, but that wasn't about to happen anytime

soon.

Turning on her computer, she quickly read through the news.  It had been two

years now since the Event, what most folks around her area called the accidental

release of nanoparticles into the New York water system.  Since then, the

nanoparticles spread like wildfire, crossing boundaries and territorial claims

like mad.

Most of what she read was the usual.  A new President was going to be elected,

Congress behaved like spoiled children, and the courts had to rule on a number

of issues.  In other words, life went on for the majority of folks, Infection or

no.

She instead brought up her chat client, hooking into one of the Unernet

serrvers.  Most of the conversations were ones she wasn't interested in, about

the news, sports, the same stuff carried on the television.  But suddenly she

saw someone, in a private room marked #foxie.  She quickly typed a response:

CubMadam:  Anyone there?

She didnn't expect a reply at all, but a response did arrive on her screen.

NYNights:  Hello there.  Shall we chat?

Rebecca was curious.  She quickly responded back:

CubMadam:  Sure we can chat.  Give me a moment.

She quickly set the channel to private, and NYNights joined her.

NYNights:  Lords, I've forgotten how infuriating this can be.  Especially when

you're not really used to it.  Hi there.

CubMadam:  Hi there, yourself.  How's your evening going?

NYNights:  Eh, it's an evening.  Hope things are going well for you.

CubMadam:  Could be better, could be worse.  Given my work, I' ready to chunk it

all out a window and give up.

NYNights chuckles.

NYNights:  What do you do for a living?

Rebecca paused, then went on.

CubMadam:  Work for a financial firm.  Got a boss who's an ass to deal with.

There was a pause on the other end, then the line went active again.

NYNights:  Sounds like a lot of bosses I know.  Fortunately, I don't have to

deal with them, I do whatever I please.

CubMadam:  Where do you work?

NYNights:  Officially, I work for WXXV, that's the local station.  Unofficially?

I work for myself on whatever I need to.

CubMadam:  Sounds interesting.

NYNights chuckles again.

NYNights:  You need a new job?  I can help out.

Rebecca paused again.  Someone able to help?

CubMadam:  What can you do?

NYNights:  Whatever you need.  I'm borrowing this account, btw.  But I'm

serious, if you want to move, I can give you help.  And if you want to come here

to Mississippi (or Mississisloppy) I can help there as well.

Rebeccca laughed at that.  But her mind was already working in high gear.

CubMadam:  If you're serious...

NYNights:  Dead serious.  Just give me the word and I'll get things going.  I've

alread helped four friends/lovers/companions already, what's one more?

CubMadam:  Even if I'm... different?

NYNights:  Won't matter to me.  Just give me a day and time, and I'll get things

started.

---

"What do you mean, you're quitting???"

Fred looked like he was about to explode with Rebecca's news.  For her part, she

stood in front of him, wearing a slight smile on her lips.  The news that she

was leaving was putting Fred into a situation he really didn't to be in, namely

to take responsibility for his actions.  As far as Rebecca was concerned, it was

karmic justice served rare.

"Just what I said, I quit.  I'm tired of all your bullshit and yelling when I

had everything under control.  Well, I'll be the last general assistant you

ever had, and you'll have to deal with things yourself."

Fred looked like he was literally about to pop, but another head appeared in his

doorframe.  "Problems?" came the voice of Wayne Harris, the owner of the

company.

"Nope, no problem at all."  Rebecca tossed a few papers into the trash.  "Just

telling Fred I'm leaving for Mississippi tomorrow.  Movers are already at my

place, hauling everything out."

"Good, if you're going to where I think you're going, you'll be in good hands.

Now, about the Mitchell paperwork..."

All Fred could do was watch as Rebecca leave the room as Wayne asked him

question after question.  She headed to the elevators, going past financials.

Minutes later, she left the building, her final pay in hand and her future

looking a little better than before.  She took out her cellphone and punched in

a number.

There was a click, and a male voice responded.  "Did you do it?" was all he

asked, and she laughed.

"All done.  I'll be in Biloxi on Thursday afternoon."

A soft chuckle greeted her ears.  "I'll see you then."  With that, the line died

and Rebecca headed towards her car, and her new life.

---

Thursday arrived with Rebecca driving past Mobile and the Alabama/Mississippi

state line.  The trip was interesting, it being the furthest she had ever

driven.  But along the route she would get calls, the male voice asking where

she was, recommending food stops and the need to rest a bit.  But now, now was a

different situation.

She drove through Biloxi, carefully making her way through the streets that led

her along.  Then she spotted her turn, the silhouette of a red wolf on the top of

a mailbox.  She made her way slowly, the road occasionally causing small bumps.

But then she spied her destination, a very large spread a short distance from

Bay St. Louis.

Equally surprising was her welcoming committee, everyone coming out of the

house.  She pulled up to a halt, and one male walked to her car.  "Welcome to

Casa Lobo,  Otherwise known as wolves on the loose, he added, a touch of humor

coming out.  His voice was very distinctive, a touch of the Gulf present in it.

"Let's all go inside, the weather's looking a touch nasty for this time of

year."

Everyone went inside, including Rebecca,  She wasn't totally surprised by the

appearance of the place, with rugs scattered about, paintings hanging on the

walls, and spots for everyone to get comfortable.  What she was surprised by was

the number of places a person could settle down, from a rather large couch to a

pair of love seats.  The male who said hello to her first continued as he

relaxed.

"While we're all getting settled, let me start off the introductions.  I'm

Joshua, aka Josh, Redwoulfe or just plain Red."  He grinned widely.  "And

you're Rebecca, right?  Rebecca Stamos, if my memory serves me right?"

"That's right."  Rebecca looked around for something to drink, as driving tended

to dry her throat quickly.  Just as quickly, one of the ladies had already gone

into the kitchen.  There was a clattering, and moments later she came out with a

large pitcher of Pepsi and glasses for everyone.

"That's Jade," Red continued without breaking a sweat.  "She's normally a

newspaper person when she's not crawling in my bed making other rude sounds."

"Oh hush, you.  You should talk, then way your name keeps showing up on the

events page.  And I don't mean private events, either."  She save Rebecca a hug

in greeting.  "Like Red said, I'm Jade."

"Hi."  Already she was finding herself amazed at the differences in the group,

between Red's normal coloration of a light tan and Jade's clearly dark skin

tone.  Of course, she was a third generation Cuban-Creole gal, her skin color

being a blend of African, Cuban, Creole and straight white.

Not stopping, Red turned to his side.  "Now, this guy is Silver Hanson.  You can

call him Silver, which he'll respond to easily enough."  Silver smiled and shook

his head.

"Red, stop trying to embarrass the new person already."  He gave Rebecca a warm

hug as well.  "We all put up with Red's antics, so just don't take anything

serious involving him."

"I'll try not to," she said softly, and Silver gave her another hug.  "Now,

these two are Emerald and Sapphire.  Emerald's the light-haired one, and

Sapphire is the dark haired one.  They're easy to get along with, I think."

Both gals gave Rebecca warm hugs and surprisingly a kiss.  "It's always good to

have another female here," Sapphire said.  "Considering the male population makes

us want to strangle at least one," Emerald added with a hint of amusement.  "And

yes, I mean you, Red."

"Hey, I'm just your average red-blooded male with a libido that has to be kept

under lock and key."  That got laughs from everyone, Rebecca included.  It was

beginning to appear that she liked everyone, and given the hints they displayed

one another, they got along quite well.

---

As for Red, I recalled bits in our conversation that hinted to his own income.

He, at one point, had to answer a call from the financial place he set me up

working with, talking about funds.  I heard him mention $10,000 to go to a

school in Montana, to purchase 20 new computers for the students.  He didn't

seem worried about the cost, which made me curious about how much he really had.

Emerald leaned in close to where I was sitting.  "Don't worry about Red, he's

got money coming out his ass."  She giggled at that, and I caught her giggling

fit.  But then, I had to ask the question.

"Just how much money does Red actually have?"

Emerald smiled wide.  "Honestly?  Close to ten million.  And that's just in one

account, his personal funds are close to ten times that amount."

I suppose the shock on my face made Emerald giggle again.  Over $100 million?

Lords, I've never knew anyone with that much funds available.  And he helped

schoolkids get computers?  That alone stunned me speechless.

"Been talking about me again?"  Red had wandered over to where I was sitting,

and gave me a light hug.  "I heard a little of what Emerald told you.  Yes, I'm

that well off.  But I wouldn't have these folks," reaching and ruffling

Emerald's hair, "unless I needed the help.  And in two years, they've helped out

a lot."

---

It was late in the evening that found me in the bed I was provided.  Small

glowing stars were plastered in the ceiling, having been painted there by some

unknown person.  But the glow of those stars helped settle my stomach, which was

in need of being settled indeed.

Red was clearly a character, the sort that might have fit in some social justice

film.  He could go from dead serious to making everyone laugh, often in the same

moments.  His counterpart and (as I learned, lover) was Jade, who would gently

remind him of who he was speaking to.  As for the trio, Silver, Emerald and

Sapphire, I could tell that there was love amongst all three of them, a love

that they shared with Red and Jade.

Quietly my door opened and a pair of individuals slipped into the room.  Before

I could react, they were settling up against me, a feeling of warmth and

acceptance emanating from them.  Jade was along my left side, while Red settled

close against me on the right.  It felt satisfying, my fears of what to expect

having vanished earlier that evening.

For a while, I enjoyed the feel of their bodies warm against me along with the

sense of acceptance.  But then there was a gentle tap on my right, and I turned

to look.  There, Red was smiling gently to me, and before I could really react,

he kissed me straight on the lips, his tongue slightly between my own lips.

My own kiss ended quite warm, almost hot.  I felt my body simply flustered, but

that was just the first surprise.  I felt a hand land on my left shoulder, and

turning to see, my mouth and lips met Jade's.

It was hot, it was slow passion, it was a whole lot more that attacked my

senses.  Before I could move another inch, they were pressing themselves against

my body in the heat of the moment.  I couldn't move, and I didn't want to.

There was a need for them both, a desire I hadn't felt ever since two years ago.

But now, now I wanted them, desired them, lusted with them both.

There was a passion that filled me life never before, not since after the Event

when my first change struck me hard.  And definitely afterwards, when my ex-

boyfriend decided to leave me without a word.  Since that day I was left alone,

trying to make ends meet as well as possibly finding someone to share it with.

I sighed audibly, glad that the ghosts of my past were starting to flee.

Red kissed me again as Jade pressed her body against my back.  "We thought that

this would be more what you wanted," he said softly.

If I could, I would have broken down in both pain and delight.  "It's fine," I

whispered back, still enjoying their love of me.  "It's just so... so

wonderful."

"If you think this is wonderful," Jade added, "just get ready."  With that, her

form shuddered and rippled visibly.  I watched in amazement as instead of her

normal looks, a taller, more muscular male was pressing against me with intent.

Red joined in as well, and I let myself go and dove into their lovemaking with

me.

How long we went at it, I couldn't tell and didn't want to.  As one, Red and

Jade proceeded to give me the kind of love only someone who had experience

before and wanted again and again.  I felt Jade's lips working along my body as

Red kissed my breasts, giving the nipples particular attention.  I let out a

soft moan, then gasped as Jade's lips reached down enough to lick my cunt.  Red

had moved himself enough that I could grasp his own hardness, and I started to

suckle on it like it was a popsicle.

Another orgasm passed through me, but then I watched in sheer astonishment as

Jade slipped her own deep into me.  Red's shaft was still in my mouth, and I

worked it completely until he came, a stream of jism getting sent into my

waiting lips.  But then Jade's actions were demanding, and I rode that shaft

long and hard.  I  felt my own climax fast approaching along with his, and

together we rode each other, my moans turning into screams of lust.  I could

hear him grunting, and felt hiss own spray trying to fill me totally.

I felt extremely exhausted from the lovemaking, and started to drift asleep.

They held me in their arms, a soft murmur being emitted from me as I savored

their presence.  All I could say was one thing, before sleep took over

everything:

"I love you both."

---

Morning arrived, and with it came the traditional scents I would catch out of a

Carribean cafe.  The smell of plantains mixed with the scent of Jamaican

cornmeal, mangu and tayotas con huevos assaulted my senses hard.  I slipped out

of the bed, already some light dress waiting for me to wear, and went into the

kitchen.

Red and Sapphire were the two doing the cooking, while the others were busy

getting the table prepared.  "Heyas," Emerald called out at me, "come make

yourself busy getting ready."

"Breakfast should be another 15 minutes, so you have plenty of time."  That came

from Sapphire as Red worked over the breakfast.  Jade came over with plates,

and I helped her in that respect.

"You were wonderful," she whispered in my ear.  As good as Red is, I needed a

lover who could give me what I needed.  And I needed you so bad."

All I could do was blush at that.  Before I could say anything, Red carried

several plates with food plied high.  "Have at it, the restaurant is now in

session."  He got swatted by Sapphire and Jade both, while Silver and Emerald

just shook their heads.

We all attacked the breakfast, quickly knocking it out flat.  The dishes were

placed in a dishwasher and left to run as everyone else went into the living

room.  There, we relaxed from the meal, a breakfast I hadn'd had since a year

ago.

"All right, now that everyone's well sated with breakfast, we have a little

business to discuss."  Red took control of the gathering, having changed

attitudes completely.  "Namely, the question of what we're going to do with

Rebecca."

"Well, I can speak for myself and my gals," Silver spoke up.  So I leave the

decision to you two," nodding towards Jade and Red.  "I will say that she's got

some good things about her, definitely good."

"Oh, yes."  That come from Emerald.  "She's looking like she'll be an excellent

addition to the group.  Besides her financial acumen, she hasn't any personal

issues with us."

"Jade?  Care to add your opinion?"

Jade laughed and grinned.  "You know my opinion, she'd be a wonderful member of

this group.  No matter what the situation is."

Red turned to me and gave his usual sly smile, a smile that spoke volumes.  "So

here's the rub; do you want to be a part of this household?  You'd have to work,

which we've already arranged, and express your love for us just as much as we

happen to love you."

My voice was frozen at the situation I was facing.  They wanted me to be a

literal part of their group, a situation I never envision happening.  But it was

a situation I felt deep down was the right one, to become a part of this...

organization, collection, party, whatever term felt necessary.

"Yes, oh yes," I managed to say.  "I'd dearly would love to join with you all,

if you're willing to have me."

Red stood up, and I did the same.  "Then with the authority invested in me by

whatever deity you wish to use. I welcome you to this household, to do whatever is

needed and share both your body and mind with us all."  He was dead serious as

he said that, and my throat tightened a bit.

"And I will do whatever needs to get done to make this entity thrive and grow,

staking my life along with yours.  I'll share whatever I have with you, and help

to make this group a living, breathing entity.  So I swear this 22nd of June."

The group gave a loud cheer, and I found myself being hugged and kissed by

everyone.  Silver and Sapphire in particular gave me very deep kisses, and even

Jade kissed me with warm passion, given last night.

Red held up his hand, getting immediate silence.  "Now, what we need for her is

a name.  Just like you gals," getting swatted by Emerald.  "So what name would

you prefer?  Rebecca is just a bit difficult to say."

I thought about it a moment or three.  A name?  Rebecca was a mouthful, and

everyone else seemed to be so simple.  The guys were colors, Red and Silver, but

the gals were gemstones.  Emerald, Sapphire and Jade, so easy to remember.  I

kept thinking, then the answer appeared like a bolt from the sky.

"How does Ruby sound?"  Already it felt right, comfortable, the name a refection

of the gemstones I liked to wear when being out in public.

Everyone chuckled softly and agreed.  "Then Rudy you are now, and I don't know

of any Rebecca living here."  Red ducked the swats aimed at him from the other

females, while Silver laughed at his efforts.  For my part, all I could do was

laugh at Red, who merely smiled slyly at me.

---

A month passed and I was firmly a part of this group now.  I did receive a call

from my father, living in Havana.  He was happy for me that I had made myself

welcomed by the "Cubanoestadounidenses" as he put it.  He also was surprised

when Red used a bit of money (routed via Canada) to build a clinic to help the

sick.  It was just a scratch but Red did things like that on a regular basis, I

learned over that month.

My work was rated as excellent my the financial bank I was working for.  It

wasn't that surprising, considering I would put in extra time to get things in

order.  When I wasn't working, I helped out at the house, giving Jade, Emerald

or Sapphire help in keeping the place organized.

My nights were equally organized, in a relative sense of the word.  By the end

of that week, I had spent time in bed with Emerald and Sapphire, Sapphire and

Silver, Silver and Red, Jade and Emerald, to give an example.  I learned more

about the shapeshifting abilities we had all drank, from the water that went out

from New York.  And it was that water that gave me such a wide experience of

forms, forms that I shared with my lovers.

I was male that night, with Jade and Emerald in bed with me.  I drove both to

the edge of insanity with the lovemaking I was giving both, then they turned

around and attacked me and drove me wild with desire.  I took one then the

other, working my male shaft in deep.  They screamed in delight, and we all

collapsed together.

And that's my life now.  I have five other lovers that I care for deeply, and

who care for me just as deeply.  It definitely wasn't quite what I was expecting

when I moved from Miami, but I certainly didn't care.  All I cared for was the

entity that started in central Iowa all those years ago.  And the people who

made up that entity, of which was was a full part of.

I wouldn't trade a moment.
