The year was 1972, the place was Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Two racists, one white and one black, were screaming at each other. The white woman, Brenda, was a white nationalist still looking for a group of like minded people. The black woman, Lorrida, was a member of the Black Panther party. Naturally, the two of them didn't get along at all and, when Brenda saw Lorrida hanging recruitment posters, an argument broke out in the middle of the street.

"-bleach demons and white devils won't leave us alone! You look like a ghost so disappear like one!"

"Look, all I'm saying is if we each had our own countries, we wouldn't need to interact and there'd be no more tension. Don't you want a land free of white people?"

"And let me guess, we blacks would be the ones to leave?"

"Well, this is a mostly white country, so it's only-"

"No way! Nuh uh! We ain't going anywhere! You can just go-"

"Look out!"

Because they were standing in the street, both ladies were in the way of a truck which was careening towards them. Because of the way they were standing, Lorrida's back was to the truck and Brenda could see it coming. Brenda, acting quickly, rushed over to Lorrida and tried to throw her out of the way of the vehicle, only to fail to throw her with enough distance. It was, however, enough to make a sure death into...a slower probable death for both ladies.

"You tried to save me?" Lorrida asked, "Why?"

"You may be black." Brenda said, "but you're still human."

Then both woman passed out from blood loss.

...

When Lorrida awoke, she was in some sort of hospital bed, but it was unlike any hospital she had ever seen: normally, hospital rooms were well lit but this one was very dark, with only an overhead spotlight shining down on her. There was a thin wall of pain separating her right side from her numb left half too. Man, she needed a cigarette.

It was a scream to her left that made Lorrida look in that direction, only to find that she was sharing a bed with Brenda, and there was a balding man with a bushy grey beard and a lab coat.

"Do not fear!" The man said in a Russian accent, "You two are safe. You were on death's door before I saved you."

"You stitched us together, you mad scientist!" Brenda cried. "Get this monkey off my back...side... whatever!" It was then that Lorrida noticed the bandages between her and this white woman. Her stomach turned.

"It's true! The only way to save you was to combine what was left of your bodies. Thankfully, I had been working on such experiments for a few years now..."

"Ain't that convenient?" Lorrida scoffed. "I'll bet you did this on purpose, you pinko!"

"I am not a communist!" The man roared "I am Dr. Ivan Boris, the greatest medical biologist who- ah, forget it. I'll leave you two alone" And Dr. Boris stormed out of the room, leaving the two of them alone.

"So...that guy was totally untrustworthy, right?" Lorrida asked.

"Totally a creep!" Brenda replied.

"Let's get out of here before he gets back."

It was difficult at first for the two of them to coordinate with each other, but somehow, their nerves just "clicked" and they were more able to coordinate. It did, however create a unique side effect: each woman could feel everything below their neck, though they each could only control their side. Sneaking out of the laboratory, the two of them considered "borrowing" the scientist's motorcycle, but they didn't have the keys and didn't know how to hardwire so they walked down the road, clad only in a single hospital gown.

...

Some time later, at the Bleeding Switch biker bar, the Hellcats biker gang, clad in their thick leathers and their chrome spikes, heard rumors of a weird two headed lady who righted wrongs and put criminals in their place. In particular, the leader of the gang Johnny Two-Knife laughed it off as a fairy tale meant to scare new recruits. After all, his boys had been beating and robbing people for months now and he hadn't seen anything. That is, until the Two Headed Lady, clad in a green one-piece, threw open the doors of the Bleeding Switch.

"Alright you greasers" The black head said, "You can either come quietly with us or things are gonna get ugly. Uglier than you already are, I mean."

"We'll let you finish your drinks though," The white head smirked, "Think of it like a last meal."

"Split those ladies apart!" Johnny yelled, pulling out his two switch blades, "Segregate 'em painfully!"

Luckily, Brenda and Lorrida were more than capable of defending themselves: whatever that scientist had done to them had some unexpected side effects as they effortlessly dodged a goon's lead pipe and picked him up in one arm.

"Hey now, you're so slow ...get the lead out." Brenda said while grabbing the goon's pipe and tossing it aside before Lorrida tossed him over her shoulder. Johnny Two-Knife had seen enough: he wasn't about to let some freak show dame throw is boys around.

"Hey, I got two knives and you got two throats. Pretty convenient, right?" He said, rushing forward, only to be met with Brenda's foot in his gut. The force of the kick was so great, he felt it in his spine!

"Yeah, and you only have two brain cells." Lorrida quipped. The rest of the goons began to run away from this superhuman woman.

"That's right, you better run!" Brenda shouted.

"And don't you go robbing people anymore!" Lorrida warned. Johnny knew he was beat so he hopped on his bike and fled, vowing revenge. As for the Two Headed Lady, they slapped each other high five and got back on their own bike to find their next adventure, their hatred forgotten.
