Part of what made Heaven and Hell so eternal was a blend between their unchanging natures and a complete lack of any reference of time. There are no cycles of day and night, nor changing of the seasons. The residents don’t eat or sleep or age. As such, telling time in either realm is somewhere between impossible and meaningless.

Two succubi sisters, Rin (scrawnier, blue-green hair) and Yin (more girth, red-blue hair) had, at some point, accidentally merged themselves together, unable to separate but still able to alter their forms. During their futile attempts to separate, they had discovered the strangely satisfying sensation of pulling apart from each other while they shared a belly. And they continued this belly-pulling game. A lot. The point of the previous paragraph was to illustrate that these girls were probably at their little game for an incredibly long while. How long? I don’t fucking know!

But eventually, the sisters got bored with all the tugging and pulling, and decided to re-evaluate their situation.
“At least we know that spending eternity together wouldn’t be so bad.” Rin said with a chuckle, putting an arm around her sister as they stared at the flesh chain between their wrists.
“Yeah…but it would still be nice to have the option.” Yin replied, unsure of what to make of their situation. She didn’t want to admit it, but she was still a little uncomfortable with this whole situation, even if it did have a silver lining.
“Hey, no matter what happens, we’ll get through it together.”
“That’s kind of the problem, isn’t it?”
And Rin mentally kicked herself for that turn of phrase. “Sorry. So what options do we have?”
“Well,” Yin mused, turning their chain into a giant inflated belly that they shared side by side, “We tried cutting ourselves apart, and we tried pulling ourselves apart. Obviously, neither worked.” Yin added while slowly stroking the belly, sending pleasuring waves to each of the sisters.
“Do you have any ideas what else we can try?”
“Well…” she said hesitantly, “they say nothing short of an act of God can get us apart, so maybe we should get over ourselves and finally ask Him to-“
The daggers Rin glared at her fellow demon was all the answer either of them needed.
“Uh…what I meant to say was we look into the old black magic?”
“That’s what I thought you said. And yeah, that’s a great idea, let’s go!”
(Squeak)
“I mean, let’s go after we shrink this belly enough to fit through the cave entrance.”

The Netherworld was a dangerous enough place to traverse, even if you weren’t a social pariah. Unfortunately, Rin and Yin were outcasts among outcasts and had to stealth their way through Hell to reach the Library of the Occult, which contained every spell ever recorded. Their stealth was made difficult as they were stuck together (making it harder to find hiding places) and travelled at different paces. What they had decided was that they would pose as a single demon, fusing into a large muscular minotaur-like monster with multiple sets of eyes, the monster’s bulk taking up the extra mass they were trying to hide. From there, they went from the Burning Fields, through the Soul Gardens, over the River of Blood and Wrath all the way to the Library of the Occult.

To see the Library of the Occult, imagine a building like a large cathedral, whose interior walls were entirely comprised of bookshelves. All manner of horrible creature flew or slithered from section to section, hoping to fulfill the wishes of whatever witch, warlock or other spell caster beseeched them for aid. It was this hustle and bustle in the well-organized gallery of grimoires that Rin and Yin could travel more freely, assuming their default, chained-together form. For a bit, Yin searched the top shelves as a fleshy balloon as Rin held their chain like a string. These books were strangely well-organized so finding the exact spell wouldn’t be an issue. The problem was that they didn’t quite know what they were looking for.

“I’m telling you, what we want is a ‘Separation’ spell.” Yin hissed.
“That wouldn’t be any better than when we trued cutting ourselves apart” Rin whispered, “We need a spell that lets a demon exist in separate bodies.”
“Can I help you ladies find something?” asked a quiet third voice.
Stifling a scream, the girls turned around to see one of the many librarians standing behind them. She resembled a human only at first glance. Upon closer inspection, some of her more stereotypical librarian features; her tight grey hair bun, her drab dun, almost puritan dress, her horn-rimmed glasses, all were a part of her and were made of flesh. There were also some other strange features, like the eyes in the back of her head or the fact that her long fingers had too many joints. It was these fingers that clutched a shiny black leather tome, as though attempting to choke the life out of it.
“I believe this contains the spell you two are after. You’re trying to bypass the First Law, yes?”
“How did you know that?” Rin and Yin asked, clutching each other in fear.
“I know everything. It’s my job to do so. Now take the book and be off.”
And the librarian set the book on their newly-created shared belly (a result of them hugging in fear) and walked off, her high heels making wet leathery slaps on the ground.

Back in the cave, the demon sisters examined their book. Despite its pristine condition, the title was scratched out as though with claws. And no amount of tugging could get the book open.
“Maybe it’s alive?” Yin asked
“Book, we want to bypass the First Law of Shape Shifting!” Rin commanded, and the book flew open, revealing a ritual titled “Negate the Laws of Shape Shifting”. The sisters hugged each other and jumped about in delight. Not only were they going to be separated, but they wouldn’t be bound by any of the laws! Without hesitation, they cast the evil spell, and a horrible sensation came over them. They were lost in a black cloud that seemed to electrocute them, melt them, and pull them each and every way until the effect stopped as soon as it started. Rin didn’t dare open her eyes; she hoped against everything her sister was finally free like she wanted to be so badly. Eventually, she opened her eyes to assess the damage, finding the mirror they kept in the cave.

She was alone. Her sister was nowhere to be seen. However, she did have one new addition; a massive belly, larger than any pregnancy, it was as though she had a whole person in there. What was more shocking was that the belly had a panicking face. Her sister’s face.
“Sis?! What’s going on here? I can’t move!” Yin the Belly said,
“I don’t know. Change back and we’ll figure out what went wrong.”
“But…but I can’t! I’m stuck!”

As the sisters stared in horror at each other, they realized the librarian’s trick; the First Law of Shape Shifting can’t apply if you can’t shape shift!
