In general, Kara “Supergirl” Zor-El had a pretty good life. Aside from her civilian identity’s job at CatCo, she helped the Department of Extranormal Operations, helping them hunt down alien criminals along with her sister, Alex. The life of a superhero can be a strange one, so when there were rumors that Supergirl was flying around and destroying buildings, all Kara could think to herself was “oh, no. Not again! I hate evil clones!”

In the past, Supergirl had to deal with Bizarro, a defective clone of her created my billionaire genius Maxwell Lord.

“But that clone’s gone, right?” Supergirl thought to herself as she flew through the air toward Lord’s building, “Did he make another? Or is she not as dead as I thought?”

Meanwhile, in Lord’s tower, the man himself was enjoying a morning tea. He knew Supergirl was going to come for him. It was inevitable, so he had prepared. The window was open, there was padding near where her tackle would throw him. He was wearing a suit he didn’t mind getting trashed and he had recently bought the most premium health insurance the company offered. So when Supergirl indeed did fly into his office and slam him into the wall, the only surprise was that he didn’t get to finish his tea.

“Alright Lord, why are you doing this? And where’s the clone?” Supergirl asked, holding Lord at least a foot off the ground against the wall opposite the one she came in.

“Now why would I release another Bizarro that acts like this?” Lord said, “Many of those destroyed buildings were owned by me. And many of those civilians she hurt worked for me. I hate paying worker’s comp.”

Supergirl had no answer for this, so she released Lord, who slumped to the ground, catching his breath.

“All right, smart guy, so who is behind this?” She asked, rapidly losing her patience.

“Who would want a Kryptonian on his side?”

“A lot of people.”

“And who could have the resources and know-how for getting one?”

“…shit.”

In the ruins of one of Lex Luthor’s secret laboratories, the bald genius himself was awaiting the return of his latest experiment, who was out destroying more of National City. He had instructed her to fly here fast enough that only someone with super-vision, such as a Kryptonian, could see her. Soon enough, the figure entered the lab, growling incoherently as always.

“We are alone now, you can speak freely.”

The woman complied and immediately began ranting.

“You sick bastard!” She yelled, “Do you have any idea what I’m going to do to you when I regain control of my body!?”

“You’ll do nothing to me, alien, because I ordered you not to harm me. And you have to do everything I say. Isn’t that right, alien?”

“…yes, Mr. Luthor” she replied without any enthusiasm, literally trying to set him on fire with her eyes.

“Good. Now kneel before me until the other arrives.”

The woman obeyed, though it was clear she didn’t want to. But before Luthor could command her again, the real Supergirl burst onto the scene.

“It’s over, Luthor! How did you even get out of prison?”

“Oh, that’s not important, Supergirl. Do you recognize this woman?”

The kneeling woman looked exactly like Supergirl, right down to them both glaring at Luthor.

“Allow me to introduce Power Girl. See, Power Girl is you from another dimension. I pulled her here and inserted a brain chip that makes her obey my every word. Power Girl, restrain her.”

The two girls of steel clashed for a while, Power Girl’s protests ringing throughout the ruins the whole time, but eventually, Power Girl won. Luthor left during the fight and returned with a lead box.

“Interestingly, Power Girl seems immune to kryptonite, but I know you are not. And I discovered a unique, red version of the material. It’s supposed to have a random effect on you when you’re exposed.”

“No, Mr. Luthor!” Power Girl exclaimed, “You don’t know what might happen!”

“Let’s find out.” Luthor said, opening the box.

In a bright flash of red, the Girl of Tomorrow was gone, and in her place was a white leotard and red cape. Supergirl was still aware, but could not move nor use her powers. She could oddly still feel her mouth, even if it could not close.

“Interesting results. Power Girl, change into that outfit.”

“No! I refuse!” but her body obeyed anyway, stripping in front of the hero and villain and putting the new outfit on. It was once Supergirl was donned that she realized what that mouth of hers was…a boob window!

(What’s going on? Why can’t I move!?) Supergirl tried to say, but no words came out,

“I’m so sorry, Supergirl! I can’t control my body!”

“Ha ha ha!” Luthor laughed, “Well, that was unexpected. I’ll be sure to copy that design later when Supergirl changes back. Once that happens, Supergirl, you will allow me to chip you too or I’ll bring out the Red K again. I was unsure whether you could defeat your cousin alone, but with two Supergirls under my command, he will fall and Luthor will reign supreme!”

Can Supergirl and Powergirl stop Luthor’s evil scheme? How can the Girl of Steel hope to stop this new red kryptonite? Find out next time on Supergirl!

…provided we don’t get canceled.
