The festive lights were on all over Gotham, lighting streets and buildings and most of all the several tall Christmas trees that were put up in several populated spots, by courtesy of Wayne Industries. The lights, the city and bright snow made Gotham's night appear much less dark, but even during this holy time of year, crime didn't sleep.
Batgirl's boots crunched in the snow that had piled up on the roof of one of the city's malls. It was already past midnight and the mall was closed, but just a few minutes ago, the silent alarm had triggered and was abruptly cut off again. The police might not be able to respond, but the Bat Computer picked up on the signal just fine.
Batgirl opened a hatch on the roof and slipped down into ventilation, quickly finding another hatch and dropping into the dark third story corridor, quiet as a mouse. Only a few lights were on over the night, but the middle of the mall was still bright, illuminated by the festive lights of the tree in the centre, which was exactly where the noise was coming from. Glass shattering, the clattering of stolen property and the slightly off-key humming of a familiar voice.
She stayed low as she headed to the railing. There didn't seem to be anyone else but the thief around, but she couldn't be too careful. She peered over the railing, down into the lobby area. One of the storefronts was smashed, a decoratively painted baseball bat lying on the floor in front of it. The humming came from inside.
Barbara climbed over the railing and hung herself from it, looking around for any accomplices but seeing nobody. She pulled herself up again slightly, staying just outside the Christmas lights.
Just a moment later, the thief came skipping out of the smashed store. Harley Quinn. She was wearing a short Santa-inspired dress, heeled boots and fishnet stockings, her blonde pigtails dyed in festive colours at the tips. She was hauling a brown bag over her shoulder and singing to herself, not always hitting all the notes or getting all the words right.
"Deck the halls with I-don't-know-what, falalalala, lala, lala~"
Batgirl got into position at the railing, crouching on the metal bar, looking down at her, waiting for a good moment.
"Tis the season to be jolly, falalalala, lala, lala~"
She leaned forward slightly, gripping the edges of her cape in her fingers, as Harley bent over to pick up her weapon.
"Don we now our gay apparel-- Hihihi, I said gay"
Barbara let herself drop off slightly, kicking herself off the railing, tugging at the cape to make it stiffen and carry her into a glide, moving her legs forward to catch herself.
"Troll the ancie--UUUAHGH!"
She kicked Harley square in the back, kicking her down and rolling off safely, turning around to face her.
"I wouldn't join a choir yet, Harley, your high notes need some work."
The woman grimaced and quickly picked herself back up, grabbing her bat and swinging it after the heroine, but she dodged with a back handspring, dashing back in again to try and wrestle the weapon away from her. However, demonstrating more strength than was immediately apparent, Harley held on to it tightly and pulled Batgirl around, tossing her away from her. Batgirl went to steady herself, but tripped on the power cord for the tree lights, stumbling for an extra second and when she steadied herself-
THOCK!
-something hard struck the side of her head and everything went dark.
The numb throbbing in her head slowly wore off as Barbara's feeling returned. There was a forest-y smell in the air, something straining around her limbs and her jaws ached.
"Hgh, fhnt..." She turned her head trying to better her position, but something was stuck in her mouth and tugging at her arms and legs didn't get her anywhere either. She slowly opened her eyes and blinked, slowly adjusting again.
She looked around and her heart sank. She was kneeling under the Christmas tree in the mall lobby, her thighs tied to her shins with lengths of rope, her wrists tied together and raised, bound to one of the low, strong branches. From the feeling off it, her mask was pulled off, her hair falling freely over her shoulder. Her jaws were forced apart by something made of hard rubber, the straps keeping it in tugging at the sides of her mouth.
Just as she was tugging at her arms and grunting into the gag to try and get free, she heard steps approach and the off-key humming returned. Panic set in deeper and Barbara continued to struggle, trying to slip out her wrists, but the knots were too secure.
Harley stepped around the tree and looked over, grinning as she locked eyes with Batgirl. "Hey there, Batty-Girl~ Sleep well?" She dropped her sack and hurried over giddily, kneeling in front of her. "You're really cute without that mask, you know that?" she said with a serious tone, before giggling again, tapping the gag with a gloved finger. "That really suits you, you look so adorable! Did you know there's a bondage store in the basement? Unbelievable, right?"
Barbara tried to move away as Harley grabbed her chin, but the woman turned her head and pressed a wet kiss onto her cheek. "Anyway, I gotta dash. Merry Christmas, Batty-Girl~" She got back up and picked up her sack, turning around one more time to blow her another kiss before heading for the exit, but stopping halfway, dropping her sack and hurrying back.
"Hold on, Ivy is gonna love this!" She produced a smartphone from her cleavage and directed it at the bound heroine. Barbara's eyes widened and she shook her head, protesting loudly into the ballgag.
"Aww, don't be shy! You look really good!" She hurried next to her again, sitting on the ground and putting an arm around her captive, holding the phone out for a selfie, getting up again afterwards. "Anyway, see you next time!" she called out again as she hurried back to her sack to finally make her escape, giggling happily all the way.
Stunned and humiliated, Barbara stared after her, not sure if she should believe this really just happened. When the shock wore off some, she recalled in what trouble she really was right now! She started thrashing and struggling again, but if there was something Harley was good it, it was tying knots. She hung her head, sobbing in frustration.
A long time had passed, Barbara's arms were tired from being raised and from struggling so much. Her jaws ached horribly and her drool ran over her chin, dripping onto her chest.
Footsteps, the clack of heels on the tiled floor, made her raise her head again, her eyes red from tears. For a moment she feared Harley had come back for more, but the woman who stepped into her field of vision instead was one she could expect more mercy from.
"Fmlnnh, hmlp..." she mumbled in a defeated tone as she locked eyes with Catwoman.
The latex-clad woman looked shocked at first, then sighed and walked over, kneeling in front of her.
"There you are. You didn't check back with Bruce and he was getting so worried. I'll get you out." Barbara sighed in relief as Selina reached up for the rope, but she stopped.
"Oh, but first..." She produced a Smartphone from her cleavage. I bet Dick is going to love this."
Barbara screamed in annoyed frustration.
