(People to Various)

I don’t know what I had expected when I summoned a succubus. Honestly, I hadn’t even expected to succeed. And yet, somehow I’d ended up in a committed relationship.

Funny, how life works sometimes.

“Really? ‘Funny, how life works sometimes?’” Katie leaned over my shoulder.

I hated when she read my thoughts.

“But I love hearing your voice,” she purred.

“I hate when you read my thoughts,” I sighed, tapping her nose with a smile. She crinkled it, and turned it into a twitching pig’s nose. “But I love when you do that.”

“I-hrrnk-know, dear.” She closed her eyes, letting it return to her gorgeous slim natural state.

Or… What I assumed was its natural state.

Katie looked back up to me, a teasing smirk on her face. “Careful about assuming dear, you know I’m fully capable of making an ass out of you and me.”

I pulled her close, rubbing my nose against hers. “Don’t we normally save that for the weekend?”

She nodded, her eyes glimmering that beautiful shade of green. A glimmer of gold passed through them, and she shivered slightly. “But I’m hungry now.”

Of course. Why else would she take a break from her anime binge-watch? “I didn’t bring the dice, Katie.”

She reached between her breasts and pulled out an eight-sided dice, along with a neatly folded piece of paper. “I did.”

That was the deal we had. In order to stay in our world, she had to feed on people’s humanity. Whenever she was hungry, it was my job as her summoner to pick out victims and forms.

“Only, Mr. Exposition, you happen to be terrible at it.”

I blinked, putting a hand on my chest defensively. “I’m exceptional at it.”

“You picked nothing but girls into dogs for our first month together.” I felt something against my calf, and looked down to find she’d uncoiled her tail in public, trailing it up and down my leg.

“There’s nothing wrong with that.” As I said the words, her tail squeezed around my leg.

“I like variety, go ahead and banish me.”

“Never.” I smiled, taking her silence as my cue to continue my train of thought.

She needed to feed, I had to pick, she didn’t like my taste. So we compromised. She’d pick eight choices, and I’d roll an eight-sided dice to figure out what she’d turn someone into. We’d keep going until we got doubles, and stop on that.

“Only if there’s at least three changes, though,” Katie hummed. “I do love a three-course meal.”

“Of course, of course,” I hummed, looking down to today’s list.

1) Snail
2) Slug
3) Golden Retriever
4) Flower
5) Pigeon
6) Shortstack Jogger
7) Water fountain
8) Frog

“Three slimies. You’re in a mood.”

“It’s like you with Taco Bell. Sometimes, you just get that urge. Anyways, quit teasing, let’s get to feeding.”

I laughed, sending a glance aross the park, seeking our first target…

Katie’s eyes glimmered. “She’s cute.”

Gabby, the 7

It was hot. It was sunny. It was miserable. And that’s what would make this workout mean so much.

At least, Gabby hoped that it would.

She wasn’t fat, not really. There was more pudge than she’d had in her college days, sure. But she was okay with that.

Unfortunately, her back was not. What she’d hoped was just a lifting injury at the hospice had turned out to be an issue caused by a little too much weight on her L… some number. The point was, she had to lose weight.

Tragically, the only thing she’d lost so far was water weight.

Ironically, that would be much of what she’d be gaining.

The ground slipped beneath her feet, pulling her to the side of the path, and rooting her fast in place. It was so sudden that for a moment, Gabby was worried she’d slipped and was in denial about it. Her arms windmilled.

But she wasn’t losing her balance. She never would again, as a matter of fact.

Her legs molded together, stretching out into a large, boxy rectangle. Small pinpricks of sensation dotted her skin as little shells molded their way into her skin. Said skin was losing its healthy pallor, hardening into a dull concrete.

“Oh my ghhhurrbwl” was the most she could get out, before a cold lance speared through her belly. It snaked around her insides, cooling them as only a refrigeration coil could. Then it darted up her throat, forcing her head to angle upward.

Instead of words, a thin trickle of water squirted up her throat for a moment, splashing back down into her face. Though the droplets should have been light, they landed like bombs. Gabby’s face sank down beneath their weight, molding its way into a basin. It smoothed as it did, soon catching the sunlight as it became chrome.

Her nose curled upwards, nostrils multiplying until they became a thin, chrome grate. Her eyes shut, their last sight her bangs beginning to evaporate away into thin air. Her ears were drowned with the sound of rushing water.

It should have been terrifying, dreadful even. But it was too surreal for her fading brain to even process that. She felt her breasts slide to her sides, nipples separating from her body to turn into a pair of push buttons.

An unseen magical force pushed against them, and by’s mind whited out. She felt her memories bubble up, squirting into a thin stream, and splashing down into its former fa… Something. It didn’t know what to call it, or what calling. Words fading until left trickling rushing flowing water.

A good-looking guy pressed one of the water fountain’s buttons, not realizing it used to be a girl’s left tit. A small trickle of water coursed up its throat, squirting out a nozzle that had been soft, kissable lips. The water fountain would have moaned if it could.

Then the guy shuddered.

Brandon, the 1

He couldn’t help but shudder. Something had felt… Weird. Really weird. It was like he’d gotten weak in the legs.

Maybe it was a little too hot today. Or maybe he was getting sick.

Brandon had no idea the misfortune that was about to befall him, but there were clues. First, the fountain looked a little bigger than it had a moment ago. Next, he couldn’t feel his feet. And lastly, mucus started to drip from his nostrils.

“Ugh! I knew I shouldn’t have gone to lunch with Tom,” he groaned, angling his head back and snorting loudly. It wasn’t exactly the most dignified look, but he felt the world owed him that much. After all, Tom had strep throat for like a week. Brandon couldn’t afford to come down with that, he was already overdue on his credit card.

Another shudder passed through his body, and he pressed up against the water fountain, feeling the little shells embedded within it against his skin. They were… Wetter than he’d have expected. Slick, even.

It unnerved him.

He tried to pull back, but his chest was suctioned fast to it. His arms felt like they were losing their strength too, and he felt them start to pull in towards his shoulders.

“What the hell is going on!?” He looked from left to right, but the water fountain was occupying more and more of his vision. It soon loomed around him, like a giant. His legs curled back, spiraling tighter, condensing into a thick, drab shell.

He felt its weight settle on his back, reassuring, heavy, natural. His eyes stretched longer, separting from his body into thick, slimy stalks. A mottled texture overtook the rest of his skin, a texture that was...

Why was he thinking like that? Why was he thinking at all? He didn’t need to think. He just needed to exist.

He sucked on the fountain a little more, feeling its warmth against him. He oozed a little.

Jenna, the 3

“Jenna? What in the world was that?” A voice crackled over her phone.

Goldie slobbered, drool trickling past her chin. “Gwwarlhhuhuhh?”

Blink.

Jennie opened her eyes, mortified. She rubbed at her mouth, frantically trying to remember… Well, not remember WHAT she was doing, she very well remembered that. But WHY was she doing it? She was in the middle of an important call… Ish.

I mean, really, if every business call was important, then were they? Statistically, it

Goldie flinched at the metal thing cracking against the ground, and again at the loud voice coming from the other end.

“-God’s sake, get your damn dog away from the phone!”

The words didn’t make any sense to her. She whined loudly, shaking her head, flopping her ears out. Then she shook out her coat, feeling the nice soft fur

Blink.

Jendie was naked. She was naked somehow, her clothes had vanished, and she’d gotten hairy, and her hands had twisted into these big, useless, thick THINGS. She looked at her paws. She shivered. Her hands were swollen, thick. Her nails had overtaken her fingers.

“Can you hear me!?”

Her boss was shouting.

Her boss! That was it. She had to try and get him to help her. “Mister Campbell, please, call-

Gondie crinkled her nose. Her phone’s screen tasted disgusting, when was the last time she washed it? Not counting the last tongue-bath, of course. Her tail wagged a bit at the thought and she felt happy.

That was bad. That was scary. Why was she a dog? She didn’t want to be a dog, right?

And her phone… Oh no. Her tongue had ended the call. Bad girl. Wait… Why would she think that? She

Laura, the 2

Bloop.

A bit of something landed on Laura’s sketchpad. She blinked, looking up. There wasn’t a cloud in sight.

“Weird…” She muttered, brushing the back of her hand against the back of her sketchpad. The little spot felt slick against the back of her hand. And it smeared, with much more liquid than a single droplet should have had.

“Very weird…” Laura checked the back of her hand unsurely, seeing it was a good deal… Slicker than it had been before.

She wiggled her fingers, rubbing them against each other, feeling that slickness between them. And then they smeared too. Her fingers smoothed over, little more than useless blunt nubs. Then they turned translucent, and splashed down as wet, disgusting slime.

Laura screamed. Or she tried to. But instead of sound, thick, warm mucus bubbled up her throat. It popped with a quiet bloop, and Laura’s world shuddered.

It was like she’d zoomed out on a camera, seeing much more than she should be able to. A thick, viscous liquid overtook her vision, blurring most of what had once been a beautiful day. She could see her body through it, see her skin turning glossy, shimmery, fluid.

It was fluid that wasn’t able to hold its form. The familiar shape that was once hers melted, like an ice sculpture left in the Sahara. She could see her facial features melt from inside her own head, like someone had shrunken her and placed her within a gelatinous replica of herself.

Her eyes swiveled slightly. They pushed through the liquid. It should have been impossible, but it also let her see something inside of herself.

It was a gross, wriggling shape. It didn’t have arms or legs. It was a slug, suspended in a melting, slimy replica of Laurg’s old body.

It was her.

She didn’t have the capacity to feel fear anymore. That was a small mercy of this new body. There were no glands to make adrenaline; there was no spine to feel a chill of terror.

Still, her brain knew that she should. She squirmed, her sluglike form ‘swimming’ through her old body. She wanted to leave this. Slaug had to leave this.

The rest of her old life literally collapsed around herself, but the slug didn’t care. Her wet body finally felt the warm kiss of the afternoon air as she splatted onto the paper of her old sketch pad. It was nice, warm, and comfortable.

I let the dice fall to the ground once more, sighing a little as it settled on a familiar face.

“Well, that’s a 3 again. And much as I’d love to add another dog to the world…” I looked up to Kate, a little hopeful.

“Well, if I gave you everything you wanted, how would I be able to surprise you?” She smiled back. “Maybe next time. Who knows? I might even let you play with her.”

“I’d much rather play with you,” I admitted. It felt corny to say, and I couldn’t help but blush.

Kate giggled. “It was corny. But that’s something I like about you. So you’d better make sure to keep me fed for a good, long time.”

“Of course, of course. Who else would I get to paint my miniatures?”

“If that’s what you like to call it…” She glanced downward pointedly, before snickering again and giving my arm a playful squeeze.

Who’d have thought that the only thing I’d need to have a perfect girlfriend was a summoning circle and a few innocent souls?
