(Various People to Mother-Daughter Pairs, TFTG)

Description:
A pair of pink bracelets, both with a heart that has ‘BFF’ stenciled upon it. The heart is a slightly darker shade of pink. There is no distinction between the bracelets, which makes the effects harder to predict.

The bracelets will appear at random, typically for sale in small booths or at carnival stalls. Inquiring about the origin will produce confusion in the vendors. Psychic interrogation, polygraphs, and fae trials all indicate the vendors are being truthful.

Risk:
Low (Pending Infectivity Study)

Effects:
If two humans each wear a bracelet, they begin to change into a woman in her late thirties/early forties and a daughter anywhere from teenage years to her early twenties. The transformation appears to be random, with no way to predict who becomes the mother and who becomes the daughter.

Transformation into fictional characters is possible. In this case, it appears that one of the two will know about at least one of the characters. This has led researchers to question if perhaps the change is of twinning nature, and subjects will change into women they’ve known at some point in their lives.

Proposals have been made into developing these as potential medical devices for field operatives. All ailments and sicknesses will be cured, including old age. However, this has been discounted for practical purposes, as the transformation includes complete identity rewrite. The loss of any training and learned skillset makes this anomaly thoroughly useless for staff.

Case A: Barbara “Barbie” Ehrlmeyer and Katie “Kaitlynn” Franks. Accidental self-exposure.

(Recording converted to transcript by Intern Anthony)

Barbie smiles as she holds up her bracelet with an eager smile. “Hey everyone, check theseout! Aren’t they the best?”

Kaitlynn holds up a matching bracelet. “They totes go along with our style, you know?”

“That’s what I’m goddamn talking about!”

“Language.”

Barbie looks confused at that and turned to Kaitlynn. “Huh? What are you talking about?”

“I mean, uh. What am I talking about?” Kaitlyyn exposes a massive rack that’s totally hot. Like, the kind of thing that would make somene totally jealous I get to see this. So she goesssssnssssssssssss

(Note from Dr. Pearson. At this point, I sedated Intern Anthony for trial of anomaly. Doubtful that it would decrease his penmanship. Continued transcript thanks to Dr. Levir.)

Katie gawps openly at her new growth, and how it’s torn her t-shirt slightly. The shock in her eyes begins to dim as her shirt’s tear reknits itself into a cross-knit blazer. “I mean,” she continues, “you need to watch your language, young lady.”

At these words, Barbara visibly shrinks into her clothing. The change is sudden enough that for a moment, her hoodie billows over her like a parachute. Then it falls over her, lightening in shade from a dark blue to a bright pink. The exact change in her shirt’s design is difficult to see as during this change she drops her phone.

Fortunately, at this moment, Katie accidentally toggles the camera on her phone, switching to the front-facing camera. We can see that Barbara’s phone has changed from the latest WhyPhone to the latest Nuugle child-friendly device. The matte black case similarly has changed to that of a Thrull, from the movie Breedable You.

(Note from Dr. Levir. Both domiciles were inspected for potential change. Katie’s was the one to transform, from an apartment for one into full suite. Uncertain what happened to the neigbors, need to check if Katie had dogs prior to transformation. Barbara’s house remained as it was, though all photographs now depict herself and Katie’s new bodies. Potentially flag as increased threat?)

“Mom, you made me drop my phone!” Barbara pouts, only to blink. “Uh. I mean. Whatever, mom.”

She seems confused, but does not protest further. Instead, she focuses on the strangeness of saying ‘mom’ in a sarcastic tone. As she ponders, her hair brightens to match Katie’s. Any natural curls are straightened out, hanging below her shoulderline.

“Oops. Uh. I think I did something. Did I turn off your Notflix?”

“It’s called a stream, mom. And no, that’s your stream. Mine’s currently on the ground.” Barbara looks over her phone, with a briefly concerned expression. At this time, her username changes from ‘Barbie’ to ‘Darkns1982’. Current profile identifies her as Tabitha Katt.

Katie’s profile also changes, to ‘Amy.Katt’. Her phone footage is of little use, though from the audio we can hear an increased jingling as her purse fills with assorted miscellaneous items.

(Note from Dr. Pearson. At this point the transformation is complete and my interest has waned. For continued dialogue, please refer yourself to the Aether Drive.

Case B: Mark Davis and Jonny Bosco. Intentional monitored exposure. Remote supervision, subdermal implantation of thought-read devices and mental runic monitors.

Mark looked to his bracelet in confusion, then to Jonny. “So, uh, your friend said that these would…”

“That they’d do something cool, obviously.” Jonny rolled his eyes. “Just sit back and…” He paused, realizing that he wasn’t quite sure when something would happen.

Fortunately, at this moment, Mark’s body decided to thin. The extra weight around his midsection slipped up his chest and towards his backside, with enough haste to produce a visible reaction. “Ah-wha?” He gasped, voice lightening in pitch.

His hands found themselves immediately preoccupied with squeezing at his newfound chest and his generous ass. Mark’s lip began to quiver, and he flicked his head to one side as his dark hair started to lengthen.

“Dude!” Jonny beamed. “You look totally like Yor, this rocks!”

“Who’s-ah-Yor?” Mark shivered, squeaking as his clothes pinched tighter around his body. Thanks to this newfound tightness, Jonny could clearly see his friend’s male figure turning into a toned hourglass, with lithe muscles suited for acrobatics and assassination.

“I mean, you haven’t heard of Spy X Family? It’s an anime that’s super cool, with a bunch of dangerous spies and a Yor is Anya’s mama and Anya is so happy to have her as…” Jonny trailed off, beginning to suspect something was happening to him as well.

Unfortunately, he was totally powerless to do anything. The curls in his hair straightened into a light pink bob, and he found himself shrinking into his dark shirt. “Uh-oh. Uh, um, Mark, I think something’s wrong!”

Mark’s eyelids fluttered as new memories began to overwrite his past. “M-Mark? Who… Ah!” Internally, he panicked. ‘Mark, like a target? Does that mean we’re in danger here? Not good, there’s too many witnesses. If I try to protect Anya, someone’s sure to find out!’

To Jonny’s surprise, these thoughts broadcast clearly into his head. His eyes widened, and a small smile started to creep across his face. ‘I can read minds!? That’s so cool! But wait! That means that I especially can’t let anyone find out. I’ve gotta make sure that… Uh… Is it right to call her Mama? It feels right, but…’

‘Oh no! Anya’s gotten so quiet, she’s got to be afraid!’ By this point, Mark’s brain had entirely disintegrated. Now Yor, she wrapped both of her arms around Jonny’s dwindling body, pressing the feminine man’s cheek against her bosom. “Don’t worry! It’s going to be fine, I promise!”

‘As long as I don’t squeeze too hard. I mean, it’ll be fine! Sure, the last pillows I had all exploded from this, but that was just practice!’

Jonny’s eyes bulged. ‘Ex… Eggs… Asplodey pillows!? I don’t wanna end up like them!’ “Uh, that’s okay, Mama!” He beamed to the gorgeous woman that had just been his friend. “I feel totally fine!”

‘It’s good that she does, but that’s no excuse to let down my guard.’ Yor smiled despite her thoughts. Still, she was a lousy actor and couldn’t keep a dangerous glint from her almond eyes.

‘Uh-oh, Anya’s gonna asplode for sure!’ Jonny’s body continued to shrink in Yor’s embrace, until his shrunken legs kicked freely off the ground. He, now she, looked up to her new Mama. “Uh, did I tell you I love having you as my mama more than anything else in the whole world?”

Yor’s arms fell to her sides slackly, a blush creeping across her face. She’d never felt anything like this before, heart skipping beats like it was playing freeform jazz. “Did you… I mean… Do you really mean that?”

‘Phew, Mama’s such a pushover.’ “Uh-huh.” Anya bobbed her head hard enough to make her hair whip back and forth past her ears. “Better than anyone else in the whole wide world!”

Much to the girl’s surprise, Yor scooped her up into an incredibly tight hug. “Oh Anya, that means so much to me! Thank you so much, I know I’m not your real mother, but I promise that I’m going to do my best and-”

As her Mama continued to prattle on, Anya’s grave fear of being accidentally crushed only grew. ‘I really am gonna be an asplodey pillow at this rate!!!’ At the same time, her suspicions of ever having been anyone different faded.

Case C: Prisoner 00267 “Hex” and Intern Anthony. Intentional monitored exposure. Supervisor: Wanda Pearson, PhD.

Well, he was hardly going to be of any use to us otherwise, right?

Anyways, Anthony awoke to discover a bracelet around his wrist, and one around Hex’s. He noticed a moment later that Hex was currently unrestrained.

“Oh my God, someone let me out!” He gasped. Panic became his new world, as he found himself utterly powerless against Hex’s attention.

“Let you out? C’mon, the fun’s just getting started!” Hex sneered, snatching at his arms and pinning them to the back wall. “Hey, Doc?”

“Yes?” The exceptionally perfect doctor who hates to be included in her own notes testily replied.

“You said I can do anything with the twink, right?” Hex licked her lips, tilting her head and taking a deep sniff of the pathetic intern.

The doctor replied with a nod and hoped she could get back to recording her notes. Fortunately, this appeared to be all the cue Hex needed.

“Hey, better pucker up, because…” Hex wiggled her fingers, sneering as Anthony mewled in abject fear.

Then she did something neither of them expected: she darted her hand in and tickled Anthony’s underarms. A new brightness entered her gaze, and she began to bob up and down on her feet eagerly. “Huh? How’s about that? Not so easy now that I’m as tall as you, is it?”

Anthony bit at his lower lip, at this point ignorant of how it began to plump. Doubtless that before long, he’d soon discover he was turning into a delightfully maternal figure.

“Khh… Kuuh…” He did a remarkable impression of a static-y television, even as the tattoos started to fade from Hex’s body. Then he clearly found his signal, because his eyes narrowed. “Cut that shit out!”

Hex flinched back, tucking her hands under her chin. “Eep! Sorry, but you were asking for it!”

“Asking for it?” An orangeish false tan began to spread across Anthony’s body. It did little for his temper, which seemed to burn brighter. “Do you even know what I did to put you through school?”

Hex smiled anxiously, revealing newfound braces. “Uh, you really don’t have to be thethific about it,” a thick lisp entered her voice. Surprisingly, she was turning out even better than expected. “I mean, I can put two and two together.”

A little of the old defiance entered her tone at that, and she narrowed her eyes slightly. “H-hey, wait a thecond. Hold on, why’m I thuch a dork?”

“Because, little lady, you can put two and two together thanks to those math classes ah never had!” Anthony gasped as her waist pudged slightly. The tightness of her new yoga pants gave very little doubt as to her new femininity. Her hair brightened unnaturally, as though she’d been dyeing it for years in an attempt to retain her ‘youthful’ looks.

“Eep! Thorry! I didn’t mean… Nnh…” Hex whined. “But… No… Uh… I’m not…”

“You are one thousaynd purcaynt mah dawtur!” An improbably thick accent entered the new mother’s voice. “Sure as mah name’s Sarah Branding, and yer mah dawtur Pauline!”

“Mom, you know I hate it when people don’t call me Pauli!” The girl looked surprised at her own words for a second before her changing brain impressed some transformative logic upon her thoughts. “I mean, you only named me that becauthe of thum game!”

“Hey! Any name classy’nuff for that Marr-yo guy’s fancy’nuff fer you!”

(Note from Dr. Pearson. It was at this point that I grew woefully tired of writing her accent, recommend someone collect the new family at their earliest convenience.)
