Nika sighed happily, loving the brilliant gleam of the sun outside. She intertwined her fingers and stretched them above the back of her head, letting a bright smile gleam across her dark features.

Some days, life seemed like it was beyond perfect. Birds were chirping, there wasn’t a cloud in sight, and there was even a slight breeze to help her stay cool.

Of course, the universe liked nothing more than to sour such sweet moments.

“Look honey, monkeys!” Brooke hugged Nika’s arm, fingers absently trailing up and down the toned muscle. “Wait… Why are there monkeys?”

It was a good question, and one that Nika was ready to chalk up to Brooke’s imagination… Or perhaps her bad vision. The girl could barely see more than a few feet in front of herself, after all.

However, sure enough, there were simians in Highland Park. Only… It looked like some of them were dressed in human clothes?

Nika’s brow furrowed, and she pulled at Brooke’s arm. “I don’t like it. Something here’s wrong.”

“I’ll say! They’re attacking people!” Gasped Brooke. Even with her bad vision, she could still make that out plain and clear. Or… So she thought.

Nika had a much better view of it. The monkeys were jumping on some of the people in the park, but… They weren’t biting, hitting, or even pulling at the people. Instead, once the people had made contact with one of the monkeys, they began to paw at themselves.

A young couple had fallen onto each other, increasingly hairy palms tugging off clothes insistently, revealing furry forms that they could press against one another. It looked like they were turning into animals, and they were certainly acting like it.

Brooke gulped. “I think you’re right. I don’t want to be here anymore.” She tugged a bit at Nika’s arm. “I want to leave…”

Nika couldn’t tear her eyes away from the others in the park. A woman who’d been reading a book was now scratching her bare ass, drooling onto the pages. A girl who’d been doing some yoga was now sucking on her toes. A dog-walker was struggling to untangle himself from the leashes he’d once held. A couple nearby was… Oh. Oh wow, they were—

“Nika!”

Nika snapped back to the present, shaking her head to clear her thoughts. “Ruh-right. Yeah.” She looked left and right, head snapping to where they’d parked their RV. It was close enough, there was time, there had to be time. “Yeah! Let’s go!”

Her feet pounded against the grass, carrying her forward so quickly that she had to half-drag Brooke behind herself. Thankfully, Brooke had at least occasionally gone the gym with Nika, so she was able to keep up—with a bit of effort.

Nika glanced back to find that the monkeys were closer, but were distracted with a small knot of people who’d banded together to try and fight. It was about as affective as using a tissue to hold back a tsunami, flesh soon covered by fur, faces pushing out into muzzles.

Her gaze flicked to Brooke, and she felt a pang of sympathy for how frightened her girlfriend was. There was also something else to it though… Something about seeing the sweat on her face, and how she was panting and gasping with each footstep…

Nika blushed, turning her head forwards, biting at her lower lip. She tugged Brooke behind her a little faster, feet pounding up the steps to their camper. “Come on, in, in! Hit the door!”

Nika heard the door slam behind her, but was already racing through the camper, slamming the windows shut. “And get the sun roof!”

Despite how fast they’d moved, the simian tide hit the camper as Nika reached the last window. A monkey tried to paw their way inside, but Nika shut it up with a fist to the face. It screeched openly, giving her a whiff of its breath. Then she slammed the glass shut, hushing its cries.

A scream filled the cabin, and Nika whirled. “Damn it, give me a chance to catch my breath!” She huffed, taking a step forward before wincing at a sharp pain in her hips.

She staggered forward, hand pawing at the side of the wall as she half-loped towards Brooke. “Babe, tell me you’re okay!”

“Y-yeah, sorry!” Brooke was on the floor, holding her hand to her chest. A thin trail of crimson marred her pale skin, and Nika glared up at the skylight. It was shut, but there was a tuft of fur caught in the panel. “One of them scratched me, but I hit it like you showed me.”

“Attagirl,” Nika beamed, leaning back into their bathroom and pulling out the small bag she always kept by the sink. “Lemme bandage that for… Ah!”

Another cramp doubled her over and she felt a rush of guilt for showing such weakness. She could tell Brooke wanted to say something, but the redhead knew her well enough not to voice her concern.

“D-don’t worry about it, hahaahahh…” Nika’s voice hitched and she cleared her throat. “It’s okay, I just need to disinfect this.”

“Dis… In…” Brooke blinked slowly, a bit addled. “Hey, um… I think there was somethin’ in that monkey…” She wobbled.

Nika took the girl’s injured hand into her own, looking worriedly at her girlfriend’s face while she cleaned the wound. The cut wasn’t shallow, but it still tasted coppery.

“H-hey, that tickles, heehee…” Brooke giggled, a funny look on her face. She scratched at her belly with her free arm, kicking off her shoes so she could wiggle her toes in the open air.

Nika paused, her tongue still pressed against Brooke’s finger. She pulled her head away slowly, brow furrowing. For a moment, she’d thought something was wrong, but… That was how she was supposed to disinfect a cut, right?

She looked to the bag she’d just pulled from the bathroom, reaching towards it. The back of her hand looked a bit hairy, she’d need to shave…. But that was a different thought. What was so important about the bag and Brooke’s hand.

“Haah… Hey…” Brooke leaned forward, a shy and quiet smile on her lips. It was THE smile, the one she’d reserved for very special occasions. “You were reeeeally brave earlier, you know?”

“Yeah?” Nika thumped her knuckles against the bag, sending it scooting back into the bathroom. She’d worry about that later. Right now, there was something much more pressing at hand. She leaned in close, pressing against Brooke’s soft, full lips.

For some reason, today felt different than when they’d normally kiss. There was something primal about it, a feral lust behind every crash of their lips. Brooke, normally the submissive one, was already grasping at Nika’s back, pressing her closer and mashing their breasts together.

For a few moments, the only sounds in the cabin were their labored breaths, and the wet sounds of their passionate foreplay. The two girls lived in that moment, hands fumbling at every scrap of skin they could imagine touching.

Then, a faint creaking filled the air—one that soon grew too loud to ignore. The volume of the sound wasn’t changing. Rather, it was the girls themselves. Their ears were rounding, stretching wide and big.

A few pops pulled Nika away from Brooke, and she swiveled her head towards the sound. It was behind her, maybe from the kitchen? No… Closer. Her eyes fell towards her shoes, and she yelped at the sight of her shoes bulging.

The canvas and leather was rippling and stretching, something beneath the surface swelling and rippling. “Hold up, there’s something in my shoes!” Nika pushed back against Brooke’s chest, her hands flying towards her laces.

She shouldn’t have bothered. The moment her hands got close, her shoes burst apart, revealing swollen feet with long, finger-like toes. Her big toe in particular was the most changed, having shifted towards the arch of her foot.

“Yeah, feet,” Brooke giggled, a little delirious.

“The hell is wrong with you?” Nika curled her hand-like feet, whirling towards her girlfriend. “Can’t you see…”

Her words trailed off at her girlfriend’s face. Something had happened when the two of them had kissed. Peach fuzz had grown around Brooke’s face like a halo, and her lips looked less full yet thicker at the same time.

“No, remember?” Brooke made a face. “I’ve always had trouble seeing. I think I need guh… Guhuuhh… Uh… What’s the word?”

“Huh? Glass… Um… Glassers? Glassems…” Nika scratched at her head, then crinkled her nose. “No! That’s the not the point! The point is that something’s happening to us! Just look at my feet!”

Brooke did a lot more than that. She stretched out one of her legs, and Nika saw that her girlfriend’s feet had changed too. It looked like Brooke was a little more used to them than Nika was, as Brooke intertwined her finger-toes with Nika’s.

It felt good. Warm and tingly, in a special way. Nika fell back against one of the RV’s walls, her eyes rolling. “Whuh-whut’re you doing?”

“Making you feel goo-oo-ood…” Brooke hooted softly as she spoke, using her other foot to tug down Nika’s shorts. She stripped herself at the same time, exposing a chest that was covered in thick, red fur. “Neekuh goo-oo-ood.”

Nika whimpered, pawing at her own body. Her clothes were feeling more stifling by the moment, something alien wrapped around herself that she didn’t need. Her back arched, spine clicking quietly at it tugged out into a tail.

Something was wrong, but it felt too good. Nika didn’t want to break this moment. She pressed her hands against her belly, rubbing herself up and down. What started as petting smooth skin turned to rubbing a thin coat of fuzz, then a thick coat of her own fur.

“Hhuhhahh… Brooke… Fee-ee-eels nice…” Nika wanted to say something, anything to Brooke to let her know she was doing well.

“OOH-OOK!”

The sound of a monkey snapped Nika back to reality. Had one of the monkeys gotten into the RV? Why was she worried about monkeys again? They were doing something bad…

“NEEK-AHH!”

Nika’s head snapped towards Brooke, in time to catch her girlfriend’s face stretch. Whatever remained of Brooke’s smart brain was being crushed beneath a shrinking skull and sloping brow. Spittle flew from her simian lips, and her eyes lost most of their spark.

Yet somehow she was beautiful. Even as her furry body shrank, Nika’s lust for her grew further.

She wasn’t so far gone that she didn’t know what was happening to her. At the same time, she was able to put together what was happening. “BrOOK! MuhuhnKEEK! WEE’ruh bEEKuhhmin’ muhuhuhnKEEK!”

Even if he couldn’t enunciate it, she had a mixture of horror and something else from their devolution. Deep inside, she knew that the other emotion was pleasure—but she couldn’t quite admit that.

On the other hand, Brooke had long since abandoned such inhibitions. She nodded eagerly, tousling her hair in an appealingly rough manner. “Buh-brOOK uhhuh… NEEKEEKAH seckksy muhhhuhuhnKEEK!”

She pawed up at Nika, her lips smacking into her lover’s. She wrapped her arms around Nika’s shoulders, and clenched her feet around the woman’s hips. A tail of her own sprouted from her backside, thrashing with pleasure.

There was a hypnotic effect to it all, one that left Nika’s mind reeling. She wasn’t sure whether she wanted to push Brooke away or hold her closer. Her developing instincts broke the deadlock, instead selfishly groping at her own body, squeezing at her furry chest.

A lance of ecstasy drove into her brain, and she went limp with delight. To her surprise, she could feel her intelligence dropping like a rock. It was getting harder and harder to focus on anything, which made it even easier to give in. And the world was so, so much better without restraint.

“MUH-more! BrOOK-OOK-OOK!” She wailed, a dopey smile settling across her features. Education and experience gushed from her changing body, and Nika squirmed beneath her lover. She looked up to her with delight, eyes crinkling for a moment as her IQ sank below the capacity for speech.

“Uh-UH! OOK!” She pawed at the other monkey, unable to remember her name, much less their relationship together. Still, she knew that this monkey made her feel good and happy, and that was all she needed.

Humanity abandoned, she felt the last of her features twist and distore. Her nose bulged, lips curling to reveal an idiotic monkey’s grin. The other monkey had clearly been waiting for this, as she pressed in for another wonderful kiss.

They both hooted and hollered, gripping at each other with wild abandon, exploring their new forms and filling the camper with their cries; the same type of cries that had driven them into this refuge earlier; the same cries that continued to spread deeper and deeper through the park, towards the city…
