“Um…” Mike looked to his friend Nick, a little confused. “How did we… Get here, again?”

Nick opened his mouth to reply, only to close it smartly a second later. His brow furrowed, and he shrugged, before turning to the stranger in the room. “I don’t know. How did we get here?”

She giggled, twirling her strawberry-blonde hair past an elven ear before tapping Mike on his nose. “Well, someone wanted to entertain their friend, and couldn’t come up with a good background for a story. So, you know, I stepped in.”

“That’s a terrible start to a story,” Mike said flatly. Despite his words, he felt a small twinge of embarrassment, and his cheeks reddened. “And who are you supposed to be anyways?”

“Muse! Yours, in fact,” the girl chirped. “And those are pretty harsh words for someone whose bark happens to be worse than their bite.”

“What arrRUFF!” Mike’s head jerked forwards, a bark bursting from his lips. He had enough time to look surprised before his body twisted and warped, every muscle spasming and changing. His arms and legs shortened as his face extended, his ears stretched out, becoming long and floppy, and a short tail sprouted from the back of his spine.

“Oh my God!” Nick panicked, backing away from his changing friend. Sure, they’d joked about this sort of thing happening—but there was something rather different about seeing it occur firsthand. He stared in shock and awe as lush, soft fur sprouted from every pore on Mike’s body. It was a simple coloring, brown, black, and white.

“Dowhrrooo somthunngh!” Mike fumbled for words as his tongue flopped wetly from his mouth. Drool spilled from his forming muzzle, and he reached out a hand towards Nick, only for his fingers to spasm and shrink into small, stubby paws. He shook his head in denial, which only served to knock the glasses from his face.

“Awh, look at that! Asking for help like a good boy, aren’t you?” Muse reached down and scratched Mike’s larger ears, chuckling as he whimpered pitifully. She tucked them over his eyes, playing an impromptu game of peek-a-boo as he fully devolved into a beagle.

“Um… Yeah. He did…” Nick spoke slowly, thinking his words through very carefully. If this really was Mike’s muse, then there was a good chance that she was as mercurial as he was. “So… If it would be permissible to request changing him back…”

Her head snapped up towards him, like a cat sensing prey. He swallowed hard, realizing his mistake. “Or not?”

“Oh, I see. That’s so sweet, you care about your pal. Unfortunately, I don’t buy into that whole ‘man’s best friend’ deal, so let’s bring some equality into the mix,” Muse grinned capriciously, flicking a hand towards Nick.

“What…” Nick trailed off as his chest gained two rather soft, impressive weights. He moaned, leaning forward only to jerk back a second later as certain unmentionables rearranged themselves. Now decidedly female, she had enough time to appreciate the absence of her real closest friend before her body changed further.

Her short-cropped brown hair curled outwards, into a demure, retro trim. Her hips flared out, helping support a round posterior that was large enough to be seen from the front. A gentle heft graced her waistline, enough to proclaim “well-fed” without venturing into “fat.” Last of all, her eyes glazed over, and she cupped a hand to her head.

Nicky swayed to and fro, struggling to come up with a reason why her name no longer felt… Right. It was probably because the sound of the ‘ck’ was a little hard, and she knew that a good wife should be as soft as possible. But Nicy didn’t sound right either, especially given how—well, ethnic, for lack of a better term—it sounded.

“Rocko, can you help Momma remember her name?” She looked down to her darling beagle, giggling. “I’m just so forgetful. I guess that’s why I’m the one who makes sure the house is in tip-top shape, right?”

Mikeo flinched as she reached for his ears, only to pant happily at her touch. Mocko really liked having his owner pet him, after all… He played his tongue along her fingers, enjoying the fact that they tasted much like the pie she’d been working on earlier that day.

“Oh! Nancy, silly me!” She giggled, rubbing the last of the brains out of the former human’s head. She laughed a bit harder as he wagged his tail like crazy, literally drooling over her touch.

“No… I don’t think that’s quite right…” Muse muttered, looking at the beagle in a human’s shirt and the 50s housewife in a man’s garb. “Maybe…” She waved a hand, and Nancy’s clothing lengthened into a properly frilly dress, complete with a bow in her hair and a necklace around her collar.

“Goodness me! I had forgotten all about our company!” Nancy gasped, hand fluttering between her rather impressive bosom. “Might I be able to help you in any way? I’m afraid that Dick is out of the house at the moment.”

“You’re not in a house, though you’re right about the case of the missing dick…” Muse giggled, only to pout once more. “But… I had other ideas for you two. Bigger ones. Mostly for Nick over there…”

The fae girl waved her hands once more, and the two were restored to their former selves… Mostly. Mike remained on all fours in little more than his shirt, and Nick still sported a sexist’s impression of what a housewife should wear.

“What was that!?” Mike gasped, struggling to right himself. He didn’t make it far before he was shrinking again, smaller this time. He flailed with a yelp that rose in pitch, plush paws bursting from his palms and thick, luxurious fur coating every inch of his skin.

Nick, on the other hand, had the privilege of losing his mind immediately. He reached down and grabbed his shrinking friend, scooping his furry form from his clothing with a tut. “Michelangelo, whoever dressed you in such a silly outfit!”

Mike whimpered as Nick mashed his forming snout against the man’s chest, which ballooned out into even more massive breasts. These were born of age and fat however, and a gluttonous gut soon pressed against Mike’s furry belly. He pawed at its softness in shock, looking up and watching age lines settle across Nick’s face.

“You silly pup! Let Aunt Nikki take care of all those little worries!” She giggled, more than a little unhinged. Of course, she knew that she sounded crazy to most people. That sort of thing tended to happen when she lived alone for the majority of her adult life with only a Yorkie for company. But who were they to judge? Most of the people who thought she was crazy were cat people.

Nikki hummed, her body filling out her loose dress with ease, then with force as it strained against her curves. She knew that she really should be losing some weight, but that meant being active, and who had time for that? No, she would much rather sit at home and enjoy reruns on that wonderful TV Land.

The Yorkshire Terrier in her arms twitched his nose rapidly, crinkling it as it darkened. Nikki’s scent went from male bodywash to some strange combination of musty clothing and garlic, and even though he knew it belonged to his master, he still wasn’t overly fond of it. At least the chemical vat of perfume she stewed in overlapped much of the worst of it.

The dog wriggled as he shrank even further, pitifully, embarrassingly small. He didn’t even bother trying to deal with his new name. It was long, complicated, and much too smart for his tiny terrier brain. He’d much rather think about other things, like how to escape Aunt Nikki’s crushing grasp, and… The THING.

Nikki giggled, petting her little fur baby on his head, tickling his soft ears. “Oh, I have just the thing for you!” She ignored how his scrabbling grew more and more frantic, instead opting to pull a bow from her pocket. She knotted it in her pooch’s fur and giggled madly at how silly and adorable he looked. “Aww, who’s my sweetie little smoochums?”

“And… Pass.” Muse tutted, flicking a hand. She snorted derisively as a very nude Mike struggled to push away from Nick. “I thought embarrassing you would be a little more fun, but… Hm… You know, I do have a thing for brain drain…”

“For… Wha?” Nick groaned, a hand slapping to his head. Beside him, Mike fell onto the ground again, his chest heaving as he started to change again. This time, the man was packing on bulk, and a lot of it. “Hey… Mike… You look different.”

Nick chuckled, thinking his remark was rather funny, even though he couldn’t exactly say why. Come to think of it, it was getting harder to say a lot of things. His IQ was dropping faster than a rock, which was rather fitting since his clothing changed to be something better for the Stone Age.

The frilly dress about Nick’s body thickened into a shaggy pelt, one carved from a saber-toothed tiger. Of course, it wasn’t one Nick had hunted—that job was for the men in the village. For the third time that day, Nick was graced with a woman’s sex—though this time, she lacked anything of a woman’s softness.

Thick, knotted muscles rippled along Nuck’s body. She hunched over, itching at her head as she struggled to think of what was happening. The itch only grew more intense as she struggled with thinking at all. “Muh… Head feel funnuh…”

Nukk smacked her lips, feeling them thicken. Her brow swelled as she looked to her companion, seeing he was as furry as she recalled, with those sharp fangs she’d named him for. “Fang, whuh wronn wiff Nukk?”

Of course, her wolfdog couldn’t reply, much less understand her words. Fang wasn’t bred for that sort of thing. Instead, he only knew the basic commands, like returning to his master and attacking the animals she wanted to hunt. And speaking of the latter, there was a rather appealing one just before him…

Muse rolled her eyes as Fang bared his teeth. “Ooh, I’m so intimidated. Try again, Fluffy.”

It was like four invisible walls surrounded Fang and squished him in one go, pressing him into a new form. His paws were lifted from the ground by transformative energy, and he growled as his snout grew thin and pointed and muscle fled his form. His ears became long and goofily floppy, and thick purple fur grew from them, from his wrists, and from his ankles.

“Hawh hawrr!” Nukk pointed at her pet. “Fang look sillsill!”

“Actually, he looks quite the way you designed him to be,” Muse purred, flicking a hand at the cavewoman and domesticating her in an instant.

Her head jerked back as her brow was slammed back into a modern face, one with sharp and aquiline features. All traces of her slouch vanished in an instant, replaced with a prim, proper, haughty stance. Muscle disappeared, in favor of a waspishly thin body.

In fact, the only thing that stayed even remotely similar to a cavewoman was her pelt—though even that took on a trendy aesthetic, the sort of fur that screamed high-class. Of course, N was rather high class herself. That was why her name was simply a letter.

“So, how do you feel, N?” Muse giggled, looking at the fashion-crazed socialite before her, and the woman’s pet purple poodle.

“Ugh,” N replied, a bit insulted a commoner had decided to speak with her. “My name isn’t ‘enn,’ you philistine. It’s pronounced as it’s spelled: ‘nnh.’ Come, Fluffy, we’ve much better things to do than associate with trash.”

The poodle at her side turned tail, somehow managing to strut just as haughtily as his master.

“Okay, definitely not that. You two should be fun, not buzzkills,” Muse mumbled, already changing the both of them.

They made it three steps.

In three steps, all of Fluffy’s curly fur uncurled, growing thicker and softer. He shrank slightly, barreling out at the same time into a rather adorable, memeable Shiba Inu. All trace of arrogance was replaced with a bubbly, excitable, overeager bearing.

In three steps, N found her skin tanning, her eyes slanting, and her stature dropping. Her faux fur became a loose-fitting Dragonball t-shirt, and her butt swelled thanks to years of gaming. She also picked up a few extra letters to her name, as well as veritable volumes regarding League of Legends tactics. Of course, it was natural—Nico was a three-time champion.

The Asian girl spun on her heel, looking at Muse with wide, sparkling eyes. “Ohmigod, I am sooo sorry! I was not meaning to speak the offense! Akamaru, say you are the sorry too!”

“Woof!” Akamaru yipped, dipping his head in time with his owner’s bow.

“Hm… I think I could get used to this…” Muse muttered. “Granted, you do speak like someone writing a bad Starfire impression, but…”

“Ah! That is the too funny! Stirr, we ah sooo grad to be—”

“Okay, maybe that’s a bit too racist. Granted, Mike’s Asian, and as his creativity that means technically it’s okay for me to turn you into a gaijin’s impression of a Japanese gamer, and there’s that whole thing about it being impossible to be racist to Asians because they’re not a minority, BUT…”

Mike found himself standing on two legs once more, though he didn’t have long to appreciate his hands before they frantically covered his nudity. “A-ah! What the hell was all of that, you can’t just change me into that many different things at once! There’s a delicate process that needs to be followed, each change needs to be… Like, five hundred words at least!”

“I’m trying a new style. You are too, by the way. I think I’ve come across something just perfect for you…” Muse mumbled, before looking at Nick first. “Though… I think we’re going to start with your friend first.”

“With… Me?” Nick mumbled, only to groan as his lips plumped up. “I… I just got used to being a guy again… Plus, like, I totally like this shirt.” His voice rose in pitch with every word, taking on a light tone that bordered on airy.

Mike stared in undisguised shock as Nick’s body jiggled and swelled, a soft butt lifting the Dragonball shirt his friend sported. It was soft enough to warrant a set of sweats materializing around her waistline, which swelled to match the clothes.

“Ooh… Though… This kinda feels good…” Nicke mumbled, a hand drifting between her legs, patting away the last remnants of her bulge. Now a supple mount, just touching it sent shivers of electricity up and down her spine. “Whoa! Too good.”

Mike couldn’t help but ogle Nick. Sure, the rather curvy woman used to be a guy, but that didn’t change the fact that she was rocking his favorite body type: soft, but not bulky. Enough to hug, yet not too much to force someone off a bed. Petite, but curvy.

Nicle looked to her friend, finding her eyes now at Mike’s chest height. She lifted her eyes to meet, his, and a blush crossed her delicate features at his gaze. “W-what’s the look?” Her hair lightened to a dirty blonde, framing her blushing features.

“Oh, him? Sorry, Mikey’s a bit of a horny pup. I thought you’d have known that, since you’ve had him for basically his whole life,” Muse cooed, watching as Mike’s eyes widened in shock.

“Wharrrt? That’s not fairrr, you can’t make my dream gurrllh rrng…” Mikey blinked, finding it much harder to think of words. He slowly slinked onto all fours, stretching his back and popping it into a proper canine posture.

Fur itched at his body, and he found himself squirming in content as thick, golden hairs coated him from head to toe. At least, he assumed that the lightish-gray he was looking at was golden. Mikey’s tailbone ached as it grew long hairs that were the same color, though they were attached to a mockingly swaying toy he just HAD to catch.

Mikey’s intelligence dropped like a rock, all the way down to a properly goofy Goldie’s level… Which, on further reflection wasn’t very far of a drop, barely a fall at all. Still, it fell like a rock nonetheless, landing hard on a spot between ‘stupid’ and ‘nitwit.’

“Dream girl? Her?” Muse laughed, pointing at the curvy blonde. “I think you’re mixing up your owner with a doggy, aren’t you?”

Nicole blushed, swaying unsurely. Her chest ached as her breasts developed, soft and heavy things that she’d often contemplated a reduction over. Then again, if her dog liked them, there was a good chance guys would too.

“Ooh, down, girl,” Muse cackled, “after all, how do you think you’ll get guys when you stay inside all day?”

“H-hey!” Nicole blushed, ducking down and hugging her pooch tightly. “I take Mikey for walks, like, a lot. And I’ll have you know just the other day, a guy said ‘nice shirt’ to me!”

“And I’m sure you carried that torch through the rest of the day, didn’t you?” Must giggled, feeling a pang of guilt at Nicole’s stricken reaction. “A little too close to home? My bad. Tell you what, how about you and I hit the road, see if we can’t whip someone up into a date for you?”

Nicole narrowed her eyes. Of course, she knew fully well that she shouldn’t trust a word from the fae’s lips. It was TF 101, and she’d read and written enough stories to be prepared for this. But… On the other hand…

“If…” Nicole gulped, looking to her dog and watching as he flexed his growing muzzle, long tongue slopping past dark and rubbery lips. “If we do… And I don’t like the guy… Can we make him into a toy for my dog?”

“Ooh, marvelous idea,” Muse crooned, a victorious grin on her face. “And we’ll even have time for ice cream afterwards.”

“Okay, now it’s too perfect.” Nicole pouted, but found herself smiling in spite of her words. She affected a dramatic tone, lifting the back of her hand to her head. “However is a mortal such as me able to refuse thine offers, oh glorious fae?”

Muse grinned. “Cool it with the flattery, Shakespeare. And warm up that imagination of yours, because you and I are going to do some great things…”
