(M to Walrus)

Kyle didn’t know why he was here. Okay, that wasn’t entirely accurate. He knew that he was here to watch football, but he didn’t know why he’d thought a C-tier game between the Whomping Walruses and the Worthington Whalers would be fun to watch. Maybe it was the irony in their names?

Either way, the score was set at an even 2-2 tie, which  should have been impossible in any real football game. But somehow, these two teams had found a way.

Fortunately, halftime was coming up, and he figured he could use it as an excuse to slip out and enjoy some quality time doing literally anything else.

Unfortunately, one of the cheerleaders noticed him. “Hey! Where are you going?” She called, her voice amplified by the little microphone in her lapel.

“If I don’t look at her, she can’t see me,” Kyle mumbled under his breath, still heading towards the exit, albeit at a slower pace.

“I said,” she called again.

“Where are you going?” The girl finished, a foot behind Kyle.

“Gah!” He exclaimed, stumbling backwards and nearly tumbling over an empty seat. It wasn’t exactly a packed event, though there were enough people to get a good laugh at his discomfort.

Kyle’s cheeks burned, and he looked the girl over for the first time. She was cute, even if her figure wasn’t typical of a cheerleader’s. She was a little top-heavy, with wide thighs that gave her a generous hourglass, and a soft-though not doughy-waistline.

“I’m. Uh. I have to go. I have a. Um. Doctor’s appointment. At the dentist’s.” His cheeks only burned harder as he heard his pathetic excuse echoed around the stadium.

“That doesn’t sound like fun at all!” The girl pouted.

“I… guess I don’t have much team spirit,” Kyle admitted, defeated.

A strange gleam came into the girl’s eye, and she clapped her hands eagerly. “I know! Why don’t you come on down to the field, I’ll use you in my next act!”

“Really, that’s not necessary,” Kyle managed, even as she grabbed his hand and pulled him behind her like a lost puppy.

“No, no, I insist!” She chimed, leading him all the way to the center of the field. She spun on her heel, and gestured to herself with an offensive amount of pep. “I’m Cherri, with an I, and this here is…” She paused.

“Kyle,” Kyle muttered, dejectedly.

“Kyle! That’s a cute name!” Cherri cooed, before slipping behind him. “And today, we’re going to put on a little show for you! Go Walruses!”

She shoved him in the small of his back with a surprising amount of force, and Kyle found his palms meeting the grass. He looked back to her in confusion, only for her to sit comfortably on his back, as though she was riding him.

“W-what’s going on?” Kyle asked, blushing. An electric rush coursed through his body, and he shuddered beneath her.

“We’re gonna give you a Walrus Workout, of course! Today Kyle’s gonna get into perfect shape!”

Kyle wasn’t averse to exercise. However, there was a vast difference between exercise and being humiliated in front of a few hundred people.

“Wal-rus! Wal-rus! Wal-rus!” The crowd chanted, only making his humiliation worse.

“First up, tail thumps! Come on, Kyle! Let’s see you thump those legs up and down, up and down!”

Kyle went along with it, though he didn’t know why. He curled his knees and did his best to move his legs behind him, grunting in exertion. It was oddly difficult to do, like he was moving through molasses.

Cherri leaned in closer to him, breathing into his ear so quietly that even her microphone couldn’t pick it up. “Go on, just push through the barrier that separates man from beast.”

Kyle didn’t know what she was talking about, but he wasn’t sure he wanted to find out. Unfortunately, his body seemed eager to continue its little ‘workout’, and he kept lifting his legs up and dropping them down.

A sharp pain filled his lower body, not a muscle cramp, but the discomfort of wearing too-tight clothing. Then the sound of tearing cloth filled his ears, and the pressure eased instantly.

“Good job!” Cherri cooed, stroking Kyle’s cheeks. “Why don’t you look back and see what a good job you’ve done?”

He gasped by way of response, feeling something entirely inhuman twisting through his legs. They snapped together as though they’d been glued that way, and he could feel his thighs rippling outwards. His feet fared little better, stretching and flattening as though they were being squished by a press.

“Come on, roll over!”

Cherri’s command was law, and as she hopped off of him, Kyle rolled onto his back. He looked down and found that from the waist down, he sported a tail, instead of legs.

It was thick, blubbery, and brown. Where his feet should have rested, instead he sported a rather impressive fin, with thick and fat flesh flared around a pinniped’s bone structure.

A wordless, inarticulate scream slipped from his lips, and he thumped his tail up and down on the grass as though that would change anything.

The crowd laughed in amusement, especially as Cherri giggled, “I think he likes it!”

Kyle looked to her in horror and amazement alike, wondering how he’d best run away from her when burdened by a distinct lack of legs.

“Well, let’s keep going! How about we do some Walrus-ups next?” She dropped onto his tail, curling  finger towards him. “You think you can do that for me?”

Kyle considered curling his tail as hard as he could and seeing if he could launch her into the bleachers. Unfortunately, he was just as susceptible to her commands as ever, and began to curl his belly like he was doing sit-ups.

Now that he was watching for changes, the transformation seemed obvious. Each time he curled forwards, he gained another few dozen pounds. Soon his windbreaker hugged his flabby body tightly, but he knew she didn’t want him to stop there.

Kyle let out a cry of exertion that sounded something like “”WHOUGH,” and forced himself to bend towards her again. His belly burst outwards, tearing his clothes off like an explosion and slamming him back onto his back. Ripples of motion jiggled through his exposed body, and he whimpered pitifully.

“Aww, look at that! My tubby boy’s all tired! Well, no reason to stop there! Back on that thick belly, Kyle!”

He did as asked, gasping for breath. The fact that the fall air was no longer cool against his body only chilled him further.

“Please, don’t do this! I’m sorry, I’ll go back and… I mean, I’m not a physical kinda person, but I’ll buy all the merch you want, just please!” He pleaded, twitching his tail apprehsively.

“Awh, but why stop now? Especially when we have hand-clappies! Come on, let’s hear you clap for Kyle!”

The crowd started a slow, practiced clap. He wondered if this was a common occurrence, or if they just thought it was some kind of magic act.

Then he joined along, and found he had much, much worse things to worry about. His hands smacked together as he leaned back on his tail, and each smack of skin on skin flattened them out.

Kyle whimpered, watching his hands before him flare and distort. The webbing between his fingers rose up with each clap, and his arms pulled in towards his sides.

Soon he was swatting a pair of fins against one another, and the crowd roared with applause. He flailed frantically, momentarily free of Cherri’s control, but the motion looked like he was waggling his pudgy fins at them.

“Poor boy, I know this isn’t how you wanted your day to go,” Cherri cooed, dropping onto the small of Kyle’s large back once more. She pressed her warm bosom against the back of his head, and hummed. “But don’t worry. You’ll like this part.”

Her delicate hands worked along his throat, and Kyle gurgled as his neck expanded. It pulled back as it broadened, and nearly doubled in size.

“What are you-” He began, only for her slender fingers to slip past his mouth. Her thumbs rubbed his upper lip, even as her fingers played with his teeth.

“Why, silly, it’s our post-workout massage! Soon there’ll be only one thing left for you,” Cherri giggled in that too-sweet voice.

Kyle didn’t have a response. Even if he had thought of one, he’d have found it rather hard to say, with his canines lengthening inside his mouth. His teeth ached as they thickened into what he knew were tusks, and the man felt them slipping well past his cheeks.

“Hrugh!” He huffed, groaning at the weird sensation of always having two teeth outside of his mouth. His upper lip tingled as she massaged it further, and he felt whiskers poke from its swelling surface.

“Pweathe!” Kyle lisped, thanks to both his whiskered swollen face and his tusks. “Uh’m uh hoomun!”

“I know, but people can change. Haven’t you ever heard that before?” Cherri chirped happily, bringing her hands back around Kyle’s head to rub at his scalp.

Her fingers were still wet with his drool, and Kyle crinkled his nose as he felt his hair moisten. Then it shrank back into his scalp, in a singularly unpleasant experience he had no desire to repeat.

“Guh!” Kyle flapped his fins, clapping them against his face and swatting at his tusks. His flippers were so big, and that let him wrap them around the oversized teeth, feeling their smooth enamel.

It distracted him from how his head was reshaping. His skull shrank and broadened at the same time, squeezing his brain like a vise.

Kyle tried to tell himself that it wasn’t the size of a brain that mattered, and that it was the number of creases that affected thought processes. Still, he couldn’t deny that he felt a sudden hunger for fish.

“That’s a good boy, Kyle,” Cherri purred in his ears. She tugged at them with her fingers next, kneading them in her hands before pressing against the sides of his head, leaving him with only a pair of small holes.

“Hoomun, nuht wuhlruth,” was his feeble, addled reply.

“Aw, sure you are.” She giggled, bringing her hands to his nose and cheeks once more.

Kyle had never studied walruses in close detail before, so he was unprepared for just how monstrously large the front of his new snout would be. He gagged as his sinuses expanded and realigned, accommodating an inhuman, albeit cute, visage. At the same time, his upper lip swelled like it had been stung by a hive of bees, bloating until he could actually see it if he crossed his eyes.

The crowd laughed, and Kyle realized how silly the expression must look on his face. Abashed, he covered his face with his fins, and succeeded in tickling them with whiskers.

“Aw, he’s embarrassed! Well, you know what to do! Give him an old-fashioned Walrus Chant, folks! Let’s hear it for Kyle!”

At Cherri’s command, the crowd stood up, clapping their hands. “Wal-rus! Wal-rus! Wal-rus!”

Kyle shook his head, a fuzziness to his thoughts not dissimilar from overtiredness. He found it difficult to fixate on more than one thing at a time.

“Wal-rus! Wal-rus! Wal-rus!” Cherri clapped beside him.

Kyle’s tail started to sway back and forth, and he reached back to clap his fins together. It was hard to remember why he was upset about all of this. It was hard to remember much of anything.

“Wuhl-ruth!” It took him a moment to realize that he’d joined in the chant. By now, though, he was so swept up in it that he couldn’t have fought it if he tried. “Wuh-rOUGH! WUGH-OUGH! WHURRrrRROUGH!”

It sounded like he half-burped every bellow, but his addled brain was too stupid to feel embarrassed by it. Kyle dimwittedly flapped his fins together, bellowing and showing off his fat pinniped body proudly, just like the good mascot he was.

Unfortunately, it didn’t really do too much for his team’s skill level, and they lost 2-5. But as a consolation prize, Cherri gave him lots of fish and belly rubs, so the dumb walrus took that as a win.
