(M to Mastiff)
Nick swallowed, suddenly more anxious than he’d been all day. “P-pardon?” the young man asked, looking to the blonde.
“I said, you can scoot closer, if you’d like,” June said, patting the cushion beside her. She looked to him with a playful, expectant grin.
For some reason, the idea of sitting on the couch beside her filled him with disquiet. Sure, they got along great, but… He and June had just met.
And sure, she was gorgeous. Sure, she had a soft, sultry body that looked even better in yoga pants. But… What was he thinking about, again?
“Hey, Nick? Come on, I want to talk more Disney.”
That was the push he needed. Nick dropped beside her, and felt an almost electric rush pass through him. He chalked it up to nerves, and to the fact that he was sitting so close to a woman that might very well be his crush.
“That’s better. I was starting to worry if your ears worked,” June laughed. She reached her hands to the sides of his head, playing with his ears.
Nick quietly whimpered, taking a good deal more pleasure from her touch than he’d anticipated. He chalked it up to being under her spell, a metaphor that held rather literal roots.
Little did he know, June was a witch, and a good one at that. The gentle warmth of her fingers was changing the man beside her, stretching his ears to the point where they flopped over.
“You know, I really like Lilo and Stitch,” she hummed, still toying with her plaything. “There’s something funny about the idea of people mistaking an alien for a dog. I’m sure those kinds of species mix-ups happen all the time, though.”
“O-oh?” Nick reached his hand up to his tingling ear, playing with its long and floppy length. Part of the spell she’d cast made him totally unaware of the changes to his body, and so he was left in a blissful ignorance.
“Mhmm. I mean, there’s plenty of people who mistake racoons for cats at night, right? And of course, you know there’s people who confuse breeds of deer. Why, I’d even go as far as to say that some dogs might even be confused for people.”
“You mean, some dogs might be confusing to people, right?” Nick asked, unaware of why his heart was beating so fast. He chalked it up as part of having a beautiful blonde petting him. She knew it was his pulse assuming a canine rhythm.
“Hm? Sure,” June laughed, “after all, it would be ridiculous to think that someone might live life on two legs, totally unaware that they’re better suited for four… Wouldn’t it?”
“Yeah.” Nick gulped, suddenly aware that his mouth was too dry and too damp at the same time. He felt thirsty, but couldn’t stop drooling over the woman in front of him.
That was the sign June had been waiting for, the point where her spell was past its tipping point. “Want something to drink? You can get some water down the hall, to your right.”
Nick nodded, in a trance. He slowly rose to his feet, mumbling a thanks that left some drool dripping down his chin. He wiped it away with a blush, stumbling drunkenly through her house.
A part of his brain told him that something was wrong, that he’d seen a kitchen on his way in. That part was soon distracted, as he stumbled and fell onto his hands.
“Wh-wha? Why can’t I walk?” Nick asked. He couldn’t help but voice his concerns, as June had a fondness for hearing her victims’ last thoughts. Just another part of a very powerful spell. “Weird… But… Thirsty…”
Nick crawled down the hall, taking a right as instructed. He was good at following diretions. Or… He thought he was.
“Why’m I in the bathroom?” Nick mumbled, confused. He gulped, still dying of thirst. “But… I guess that’ll work,” he added, looking to the sink.
Nick fumbled his attempt to stand on two legs, pawing at the sink and using it to lift his body up. The handles didn’t make sense to him, though. He knew that he should know how to use them, but for the life of him he couldn’t work out how to turn one with his hands.
“Not good…” Nick muttered, looking at his palms. His fingers stood straight out, as he knew they should. He couldn’t imagine curling them around anything, so how was he supposed to make the water run?
A gentle trickle of water met his larger ears, to the young man’s right. He turned his head, and was met with a toilet bowl, sparkling clean.
“June’s toilet…” He mumbled, falling off the sink. Embarrassed, he crawled towards it, heart racing faster and faster.
He peered over the rim in a daze, looking at his reflection. His tongue lolled from his mouth, and started to swell, engorging and turning a bright shade of pink.
“Thirthy…” He slurred his words, impeded by the embarrassingly large tongue hanging past his chin. He leaned in towards the water, and his tongue drooped towards its surface.
Nick didn’t want to do this. He was thirsty, but there surely had to be another way besides-
The tip of his long tongue touched the water. That was all it took to scatter his thoughts, and leave him lapping hungrily at the bowl. Though he couldn’t remember how to use his hands, human instinct deep within him brought him to cup his thumbs around the rim of the bowl, letting him lick away.
“Hrrfl… Mnnghh…” He groaned, slopping wetly at the clear surface, seeing his reflection distort from his tongue’s activity. He could almost swear that his face was getting longer; that there was a darkness creeping around his nose.
It looked like he was growing a muzzle.
“Haha! I knew you wouldn’t resist long,” June called from the doorway. She lounged against the frame, her arms crossed beneath her breasts. They bounced appealingly as she kept laughing.
It was like a bucket of ice had been dumped on the young man. He realized where he was, what was happening to him, and that he couldn’t stop.
“J-June! Thumthin’s wronguh!” Nick fumbled to talk between mouthfuls of water. Despite his horror, his hips started to sway from side to side, wagging his butt.
“Hm? Whatever could that be?”
“Aghm drinkin’ phtrum the toilet rgghhlike rrhh dowwrghh!” His voice lowered in pitch as he complained, and Nick’s eyes widened. A low, pitiful canine whimper slipped from his throat.
“You are. I don’t see anything wrong with that. Do you?” June cooed, walking towards the helpless man.
Her casual attitude and playful tone tore the rug from beneath his feet. Nick felt like he was in freefall, his mind dazed and his grip on reality slipping.
His grip on the toilet seat slipped a second later, as his hands morphed into big, clumsy paws. His palms blimped up into lush, soft pads. His nails overtook his swelling, grapelike fingers. Worst of all, his thumbs pulled back towards his wrists.
The motion drove him to fall forward, face-first into the water. He splashed below its surface, a dazed and dimwitted look on his face as his long tongue met with the cool porcelain of the toiletbowl.
Then he felt a weight on his back, soft thighs straddling his sides. He lifted his head from the surface, looking back to find June atop him, a grin on her face.
“Boys are so easy to play with sometimes,” she cooed. “Especially good boys like you. Whenever I’m in the mood to play with a dog, all I need to do is flirt a bit, and… Well, magic takes care of the rest.”
“Murrghrric?” Nick managed. “Wghlike Dithnee?” It sounded like someone underlaid a dog’s tone to his voice. What didn’t come out as a guttural, growling sound instead came out as a whimper.
“Very good! Mhmm, almost just like Disney. You know, that gives me an idea for a fun name for a Mastiff. How does Walter sound? That’d be a good name for you, wouldn’t it?”
“Mhrrathtiff? Wuhhlturr?” Nack struggled with that. Something about it sounded wrong, because his name was… Nahlk? Nahlker? It was really close to his name, actually…
“That’s right, my good boy… Why don’t you drink up, and tell me what your name is?”
“Nghhalkurr!” Nahlker barked, dropping his head back down towards the bowl and wetly slapping his tongue against the water. He felt his body start to ripple and grow, swelling against the gentle embrace of June’s thighs.
“Good boy!” She laughed, watching his shoulderblades ripple beneath the surface of his skin. His human frame was swelling, distorting, becoming utterly and completely canine.
“Whhrulkuhrrr!” He barked again, dropping his head back beneath the bowl. He liked how the toilet made his barking sound, how it made his licking sound. Everything echoed, and that was fun.
June hummed, stroking and stretching her new pet’s neck. She felt his spine stretch behind her, growing into a long, powerful tail.
“WWHHOOOF! WHHOFFRRGH!” Walter barked, plunging his face into the toilet again, wriggling beneath his June as his body itched all over.
A thick, furry coat grew from his every pore, and he lifted his head from the bowl’s surface, a dimwitted smile on his features.
“Good boy! One thing left for you to do, I think! Give Mommy a kiss!” June laughed, rolling off of him, falling onto her back. She spread her arms wide, motioning her Mastiff forward.
“WOOF!” Walter barked loudly, Nick’s features still visible on his furry, muzzled face. Then he dove atop her, his paws smushing against her breasts and his wet tongue covering her face in drooly, damp licks.
June laughed beneath him, squirming so that his paws fell to her sides. She curled her arms around her dog, pulling him in close, hugging him tightly and watching as the last of his humanity dwindled away.
Walter didn’t notice his nose upturning, growing dark on his muzzle. He didn’t notice his human hair falling from his head, evaporating midair. And, of course he didn’t notice the spark of intelligence forever fleeing his eyes, leaving only a dopey, loving, big dog behind.
“That’s my good boy! Such a good boy, yes you are!” June cooed, flopping his ears with a playful giggle.
Walter didn’t understand what her words meant, or even that they were words. But he knew that it was the voice she used when she was happy with him, and that made him happy!
