(F to Mothra)
(F to Ghidorah)
(F to Godzilla)
“So, now that we’re on a beach getaway, I think you all know what that means!” Paige demonstrated why she was considered the most ‘bouncy’ of her friends, both in personality and… In another, less civilized manner.
“Tanning and a prime amount of ‘Don’t Bother Victoria’ time?” The head of their impromptu coven popped her beach chair open and dropped into it with a contented sigh. The brunette shook out her hair, curling her toes in the salty ocean spray.
“We can’t exactly game out here, it’s too bright,” Nicole, the third of the group, sighed. “Not to mention that we can’t even play card games, because of all the sand.”
“Precisely why most witches collect spells, rather than Magic,” Victoria smirked.
Paige frowned. “I don’t get it.”
“Capital M.”
“I do get it!” Paige clapped her hands, a faint flush spreading across her cheeks to match her hair.
“Sure,” Nicole said flatly. She returned her gaze to Victoria, a faint smirk on her features. “So, really. What’s the deal, huh? You know I’m Asian, so I don’t tan. And you had to have known that Paige wouldn’t dream of letting a beachside opportunity for transformation go unanswered.”
Victoria smiled. “Correct on both accounts. I’d thought you’d like to see just how you two stack up in a set of monster transformations.”
“Like titans?” A small cloud of dust marked where Paige had dashed to Victoria’s side, and she currently sat at the woman’s foot like a puppy begging for a treat.
“What, like Attack on?” Nicole snickered, only to flinch at an audible whine from Paige. “Learn to take a joke! I know what you mean, we just saw Godzilla the other day.”
“It’s not my fault I can never tell when you’re being sarcastic and when you’re just being stupid!” Paige stuck out her tongue, regretting the motion immediately as Nicole magically covered her in sand. Once she’d managed to spit most of the grit from her mouth, Paige shot her friend a baleful grin before continuing. “You know that you are sometimes! Like when you thought that King Kong wouldn’t stand a chance against the monsterverse!”
“Hey.” Nicole glared, sending another magical gust Paige’s way. This time the other witch was ready for it, and the sandstorm barely affected the woman. “And come on, really? You’re the one being dumb here.”
“No I’m not! They’ve done it before!” Paige pouted.
“Sure. Back when it was guys in suits. But now? We’ve got a CG monster that can literally breathe atomic fire. They don’t make barrels big enough for Kong to throw against that.”
“Nice reference!” Victoria chimed in from the sidelines, smiling from her chair. She conjured a martini, quietly sipping it as she looked to the two squabbling witches.
“W-well, they’ll have to get more physical, is all!” Paige stamped a foot on the ground.
“Face it, you’re letting your love for DK cloud your judgment. And honestly, in a fight between Kongs, I know who I’d put my money on,” Nicole said with a grin.
“Are you literally trolling me?” Paige was getting exasperated now. “Victoria, tell her she’s wrong!”
“Maybe, but that doesn’t make my point less valid! Victoria, put her in her place!”
“Victoria this, Victoria that! I… Well, I’m not even going to pretend that I don’t love it, because I do. But that doesn’t change the fact that you two need to learn to settle disputes when I’m not around. You’re witches, so if you’re not going to act like it, then I’ll have to act for you!” Victoria clapped her hands as she spoke, and two miniature suns flared to life in her palm. One of them flew at Nicole, while the other took its time sinking into Paige’s generous chest.
Ironically, Paige was the first to change.
The redhead let out a small groan, her eyes squeezing shut as twin pressures formed along her collar. Somehow light still pierced her eyes, and she cupped her hands up to her face. As she did, she caught sight of her palms moving in her peripheral vision.
Somehow, she could still see with her eyes shut. Either somehow her eyelid privileges had been revoked, or she’d grown extra eyes. Curious, Paige opened her main set of eyes, finding that Victoria and Nicole looked a fair bit smaller than they’d used to.
“Uh…” Paige began.
“What?” She asked, through a mouth that wasn’t one she was used to using.
The girl looked to her right, yelping in shock as she came face to face with her reflection. “Wait, I have two heads now?”
“Three, but I get if you’re a bit distracted to count. This is awesome!” Paige said from her left.
Paige turned again, beaming as she realized what was happening. All three of her heads reflected the smile, and she looked back to her friends to find that they were smaller still. “Three heads totally means GhidorrRRGH!”
Her three throats ached as though they were sore, and with good reason. Her necks stretched longer and longer still, growing until each was as long as her body—which was impressive, given that her body hadn’t stopped growing.
Unbalanced, she fell onto her hands, feeling her stretching fingers splay below her. The webbing between her fingers crept towards their tips, even as her arms shrank in towards her sides. She dug her forming wings into the ground, noting that they were colored in a vibrant red, white, and blue.
It brought a smile to her left head, and a grin to her right. She was turning into the Ghidorah from his original appearance, complete with the bulges beneath her left and right heads that housed the original actor’s arms. They felt remarkably like her breasts, if breasts were intended to supply her heads with spewable lightning.
Curious, she angled her three heads upwards, trembling with delight as the tingling in her bosom grew and grew. Her mouths opened, and crackling energy spewed from them into the sky. The force was great enough to bring change to her heads, her teeth sharpening and her faces stretching into reptilian snouts.
Small, spiny scales bristled along her body as the torrent continued, and her hair clumped and hardened into a fringe around her neck and the three distinctive horns that settled as her ‘crowns.’ Paige had always wanted to be a queen, after all.
Her pert buttocks, now each the size of a small sedan, stretched like putty, muscles connecting to the base of her spine to provide the changing girl with a twin set of tails. She slapped them at the ground eagerly, causing a massive torrent of sand to erupt from behind her splayed feet.
Her toes spread and stretched, curling and digging four trench-sized furrows in the earth below herself. Paige didn’t know which of her toes she’d lost in the process of becoming Ghirorah, and she frankly was too excited to care.
“GRROOAURGHH!” She thundered, both literally and figuratively, looking around for her friends to find that they were as small as ants compared to she was. Her left and right head snickered with arrogant hubris, and she nipped her middle head at them to remind each just who was in charge.
Meters and meters below the changed girl, Nicole rested her hands on her hips. “Damn, can’t believe you wanted me to turn into something like that. Sucks to be Paige, but I’m not planning on getting all… Well, you know. Plus-plus-plus sized.”
“You poor thing, my spell hasn’t finished yet,” Victoria purred. She grinned, clicking her fingers.
Immediately, Nicole whirled her way through a dozen counterspells at once. The auditory influence of the snap was shut out immediately, as was any wind disturbance from the motion. Dozens of magical barriers erupted around Nicole’s body in preparation for—that was a pretty light.
Victoria bounced a small orb of flame in her hand, chuckling under her breath. “Putting you in your place never gets old. You always think that you’re on top, but all it takes is a simple spell and you’re drawn to change like a moth to a flame.”
Nicole nodded, absently, her eyes glazed as small, furry antennae slowly slipped above her wide eyes. Said eyes only grew wider and wider, eyelids receding as they glassed over into multifaceted lenses. Her insectoid eyes were wide and emotive, expressing a curious innocence with regards to that little flame.
“Shame you can’t really understand me so well, because I would like to apologize for some mind-play. I know you don’t like losing yours—but I also know you’d never allow yourself to fully change if you were in control of your body,” Victoria chuckled, launching the small ball skyward.
Nicothra looked up, spreading her arms wide. Like twin parachutes deploying, they unfurled into a set of massive mothlike wings, complete with a second set that erupted just below her hips. She thumped them down with enough force to dent a massive crater in the beachfront.
Victoria coughed, a shimmer around herself marking the magical barrier she’d laid to keep herself from being sandblasted. Even with it up, she still got more than a little dust in areas she’d rather keep clean. Her nose crinkled, and she picked at her cleavage idly, wondering if it’d be worth a spell to whisk that dirt away.
Miles in the air, Nothricole caught up to the little ball of fire. Her feminine figure had swelled into a more buglike carapace, though it held a sleek elegance to it thanks to the 2019 adaptation of her form. Her mouth split into a beaklike set of mandibles, and she opened it wide to swallow the flame whole.
The results were instantaneous, as six sharp-taloned insectoid limbs burst from her body. They kicked with an inward delight as Mothra explored her new body and—new body!? She was going to KILL Victoria.
Mothra’s happy mood immediately soured, and the fact that she still couldn’t remember her own name infuriated her to no end. A contented roar from below alerted her to Paige’s presence, and she swooped down, berating her friend with an insectoid chatter.
Paige, to her credit, didn’t burst out into laughter. From one of her heads. The other two guffawed at how indignant Nicole-Mothra looked, and she play-nipped at her friend. Then one of the chatters made an unquestionable comment about Ghidorah’s parentage, and Paige hissed.
Paige was perfectly fine with any insults that came her way—but mockery directed at Ghidorah? She wouldn’t stand for that! Her three heads were perfectly suited for delivering a withering insult, one that would have made Victoria blush had her human ears been able to comprehend what “Grawwhlhruoughrrawl” meant.
Victoria cleared her throat loudly, and the two monsters paused their little vocal squabble to look to the woman on the beach before them. “I propose a magical duel! You two both transform, and take out your issues as only we witches can. Knowing how indecisive you are, I decided to take the initiative and choose your forms for you.
“For Paige, Ghidora. I figure someone so excitable could use a couple extra heads to keep her from making mistakes. And, as for Nicole… Well, we all saw the new movie. I know that in a normal fight, Mothra would get obliterated against Ghidora. So, let’s see if you’ve gotten any moves to back up that mandible-y mouth of yours, buggo.”
Nicole! That was her name. The mothlike Titan let out a delighted noise, before turning her attention towards Paige. Though she didn’t want to give Victoria the satisfaction of doing as she asked, she also didn’t want Paige to be able to gloat about a victory by default.
Victoria smirked, knowing Nicole’s indecision. They’d been friends for long enough to her to know that Nicole’s dignity and her principles were at war with one another. And, though she’d known Paige for a far shorter time, she also knew that Paige would jump on this like a dog would a bone.
In other words, even if Nicole didn’t want to play along, Paige would rope her into it without a moment’s hesitation. That meant Victoria finally had some sun time, and some me-time. Which, as far as she was concerned, meant that this vacation would be a good one.
“HRROUGH!” Sure enough, Paige bellowed through all three of her heads. She charged towards Nicole, each of her heads coming up with a different plan of attack. Her left head would lunge at the bug’s head, while her right would go for a wing. Her middle, meanwhile, would spit thunder at the space just above Nicole.
It was a good plan, and on someone else it would have worked. However, Nicole played to win, and she spat a thick contrail of webbing, flicking her head from left to right at the same time. The effect was immediate and gratuitously violent: she webbed Paige’s right head, then brought it into the middle head’s field of fire.
Paige’s left head yelped in warning, but it was too late. Paige’s right eyes watched as her middle maw opened her mouth, then with a crackle of lightning she blew a third of her thinking capacity away. Her middle head blinked, stupefied and wondering why she’d just lost her memories of high school.
Nicole knew that she’d confused her opponent, just as she knew this was her chance to strike. She flared her wings wide, diving in close and lifting her sharp talons towards Paige’s stricken body. The sharp scales of Ghidorah’s body weren’t enough to protect Paige from a trio of quick stabs, two to her thighs and one to her center throat.
But that wasn’t all Nicole had done. She also flicked her right wing as high as she could, using it to cast a shadow over Victoria’s sunbathing form. A smug chatter burst from her mandibles, as she proved that she wasn’t only the top Titan, she also could fight and show off at the same time.
Paige didn’t appreciate the gesture, and she lunged her left jaw towards Nicole’s outstretched wing, even as her middle head tried to fend off her friend’s dagger-like legs. Could she regenerate her right head? She wasn’t sure—she’d only seen the original Ghidorah movie back in high school, damn it!
Paige’s ire only grew as Nicole easily dodged her attack, the moth’s wings beating a torrent of sand into the air, obscuring Paige’s vision. She snarled through her remaining heads, surging towards where she’d last seen her foe—which happened to also be directly behind Victoria.
“Oh, hell,” Victoria muttered, seeing the underside of one of Paige’s building-sized feet. Then, with a crash, it landed upon her.
To her credit, Paige’s middle head realized what she’d done immediately. She gasped dramatically, even as her left head chittered in confusion. Her right head regrew during the delay, hissing to ask the others what it had missed.
Nicole, meanwhile, landed on the ground, rolling onto her back and thumping her wings in pleasure. Her legs scrabbled at the air in delight, and she flicked her mothlike antennae to and fro with a delight that could only come from taking revenge on a friend.
Then Paige’s foot began to rise, and the two Titans immediately felt a surge of primal panic. It was that sense of danger that all animals held intrinsically, and was normally reserved for instances of extreme natural disaster.
“HRRREEAAaaAAAUUGH!” A new cry broke the momentary din, a bellow that could only have come from the King of Monsters himself. The sand erupted like a volcano bursting, but instead of lava, Victoria burst forth—clad in the familiar form of Godzilla himself.
Caught off-balance, Paige fell onto her back. Her three heads thumped at the ground hard, and her three fields of vision swam as she struggled to catch a glimpse of her changed friend. Even if it meant she was in danger, she still wanted to see her favorite fictional creature in the flesh.
Much to her delight, she got to see a lot of Godzilla’s head, as Victoria loomed closer. Paige beamed with all three of her heads, and she only smiled wider as Victoria smiled back. In fact, Victoria’s smile was so wide that she was even opening her mouth and oh no.
Nicole jumped a literal yard in the air as Victoria belched atomic fire onto Paige’s prone form, beating the Titan into submission with an impressively overwhelming display. Quickly, she flew beside Victoria, nuzzling the Titan’s large foot in hopes that the canonical relationship between the King and Queen of Monsters might spare her.
Victoria looked down, rumbling and pulling Nicole into a tight hug. Then the hug grew tighter, and tighter still. A loud crack filled the air as an egg dropped from Nicole’s quivering body, thumping onto the ground with an earthshaking rumble.
The witch dwindled down to her proper size and form in an instant, smirking at the egg Nicole’s consciousness had been shoved into; then to the smoldering, albeit regenerating, Paige. That would buy her at least an hour of personal time, after which… Well, she’d figure it out.
At worst, she’d need to change herself again—and really? That wasn’t so bad at all. “It’s good to be king,” she said with a smile and a small burp. She fanned the greenish trail away from her face with a blush, before restoring her splintered chair and falling back into its comfy embrace.
