(Woman to Bear)
Sam looked down to the day’s spoils, glowering at the small fish swimming in the bucket beside her. The lake’s waters lapped quietly, as though mocking her attempts to catch a larger prize. She turned her glare to said rippling water, grunting and shifting in her seat.
“Come on, don’t let me come home with just the one.” She muttered to herself, the brunette’s eyes narrowing. She cast her line out again, unaware just how valuable a prize she held-or its effects on a human.
Her mistake was simple, yet consequential in spite of this: she’d held it with her bare hands. In doing so, the fish had released its self-defense mechanism, a natural slickness that seeped through Sam’s skin, flowing through her blood.
An invasive virus was flooding her body, and it was just about time for its effects to kick in. Spurred on by her irritated racing heart, foreign cells kicked to life, multiplying and beginning to rewrite the biology surrounding them.
For Sam, this manifested as further irritation. She scratched at her neck idly, grunting and wiggling a butt that was beginning to swell within her tight yoga pants. Her brown hair lost some of its luster as she began to sweat, a newfound heat instilling itself within her body.
“Haah… Haaah…” She blinked, realizing that she was panting. “Maybe I’ve been outside for too long.” The girl admitted, reluctantly. She turned to the fish beside her, contemplating taking it home as her catch for the day.
But… That didn’t sit well with her. Not at all. For some reason, the girl was hungry-and this little morsel wouldn’t be capable of feeding her even on a full stomach. Her nose dampened as she leaned in close to the small bucket, sniffing deeply and picking up its delectable aroma-a second before the taste soured.
She had no idea that the change in smell was part of the fish’s design, a stink intended to ward of the natural predators of its lake. Said odor wasn’t nearly strong enough for a human to notice… But then again, Sam wasn’t entirely human at the moment.
Brown fur crept up from along her collar, trailing down her forearms as she reached into the bucket. She crinkled her nose slightly, but forced a smile to her face as she looked up to the camera she’d set up on her boat. Fisherwoman or not, she still was a millennial at heart… And what better kind of selfie than one boasting about today’s first catch, whether she wanted it or not?
It was a bad habit, but would prove to be the only clue as to what would become of her. She set off the timer, widening her smile slightly as her teeth coarsened in her mouth. Canines lengthened and widened until they were not only readily visible, but pronounced. They glinted against the flash of the camera, its timer finally running out.
Sam scratched at her chin as the camera’s shutter clicked, then tossed the unappetizing snack back into the water where it belonged-far away from her. “Let’s see about getting me a real meal.” The girl growled, not realizing how deeper her voice was getting.
This was, in part, thanks to the fur creeping across and even growing within her ears. Said ears began to round, her skull sloping to give them the appearance of lifting towards the top of her head. At the same time, irritable ursine thoughts crept into her skull, and she looked down to the fishing pole with a scowl.
For some reason, she couldn’t remember how to use the thing, and that really pissed her off. The girl grunted and swatted it into the lake, before revving up the motor to her boat and steering herself towards land. “I could catch something better myself… Hell, I will catch something better myself!”
Her words were determined, though their seriousness was undercut slightly as she began to pant a second longer. Given the circumstances, it was forgivable: anyone with such a thick, shaggy coat of brown fur would find themselves hard-pressed not to find some sort of relief in this circumstance.
Unfortunately, that circumstance happened to have a transformative effect upon Sam’s tongue. It started to lengthen further and further with each heave of her swelling chest, until soon it dripped past her furry chin.
Her boat gently reached the shore, and the light impact of prow on dirt rocked the girl. A shudder passed through her body, flopping her tongue and jiggling a frame that was a few sizes larger than the petite girl who’d set off to fish this morning. She lifted her swollen butt from the seat, wiggling it slightly as a nub of a tail poked from her spine.
“Going to show those dumb fish just how well I can catch them.” She grunted, stepping from the boat. The motion was a rough one, and she accidentally kicked the craft back towards the lake. But Sam wasn’t in a mental state to appreciate this, hunger claiming her every thought.
She inclined her nose upwards, sniffing at the air and quietly vocalizing as her face began to stretch into an ursine muzzle. It was short and round, but even this slight expansion of her sinuses made all the difference. Now she could smell across the woods, to a babbling brook nearby that reeked of salmon. It was much deeper into the brush than she’d gone before, but she also couldn’t remember being this hungry.
Sam made it about halfway to her destination before the changes gripped her most sensitive of places, and she immediately fell against a nearby tree, huffing and gasping for breath. “W-what that?” She moaned, not realizing how each step on her trek had diminished her IQ. “Why… Hot…”
A new hunger bloomed within her heart, and she arched her plumper hips, dry-humping the air. Of course this wasn’t enough, and she turned her chest towards the tree, grinding against its bark. This proved to be too much for her stretched yoga pants, and the friction split the nylon along her crotch, exposing a lush patch of fur.
“Hnnnhyesss…” Her eyelids fluttered as though she was drunk, and Sam bucked at the tree harder, feeling its bark tickle her developing hide. Her stomach pressed out against it as if in yearning, and she huffed as she found herself pressed away from her support.
For a moment, she teetered on the brink of losing her balance, her arms windmilling, hands bloating as pads forced their way from her soft palms. Then, as sharp claws overtook her fingers, her feet burst from her shoes, revealing a similar change had afflicted them. It proved to be too much for her upset posture, and she fell with a huff onto her back and plump ass.
This only sparked a deeper ire, and she curled her upper lip, snarling. “Not clumsy!” She managed, flexing her abdomen in an attempt to rise. Unfortunately, her fall had cost her dearly: her spine was already beginning to realign itself, hips and shoulders shifting to accommodate. In scant seconds, her capacity to walk on two legs and on hands and feet switched.
She wasn’t forced into a quadrupedal stance, but was certainly more comfy with one. And, with her body as it was, she certainly wasn’t able to do a human sit-up. But the change had taken its toll on her brain, and she continued to struggle in vain to make the impossible a reality.
The only thing she achieved in doing so was working herself up more and more. Every motion of her body made her new fur tickle her ursine spade, swollen with need. It was a primal compulsion, and one that lanced its way to her mind in the form of desire. Sam’s cheeks flushed beneath her full coat of fur, and she rolled onto her belly, humping at the ground in desperate vain.
This wasn’t enough, wasn’t close to enough. The pounding of her hips against the earth was enough to stimulate her, but not in any real fulfilling way. Her ears flicked in irritation, and she gouged her claws into the earth, struggling to make it pleasure her.
Ironically, thoughts of masturbation were what returned to her a semblance of humanity. She remembered she could use her hands to please herself, looking to them and letting out a gruff yelp of surprise as her eyes met a large grizzly paw.
“Wharrt thrris?” She whimpered, shaking her head. Her jowls and tongue flopped, and she embarrassedly sucked the latter back into her mouth—she hadn’t even noticed it slipping past her dark lips. A low growl served as her changing throat’s attempt at a whimper, and Sam looked down to the rest of her body.
Her yoga pants were in tatters, and she hadn’t even felt her hat’s disappearance. Even her shirt was worse for the wear, fur poking its way through the stitching in a dozen different places. The brunette placed a hand against her chest with another soft growl, only to graze her paw against an exposed breast.
Her chest hitched, and she let out a loud and needy roar to anything, anyone who could hear her. Only echoes of her voice returned to her ears, and she began to pant with a feverish need. Slowly, the spark of humanity began to ebb, and this time Sam could feel it.
“Nawwr! Nawwrrrt duhmm! Nghrrrt drrrummbuh guhrrrrr!” She tried to force her lips to speak as a human would, but they were so thick, so heavy. In that regard they matched her body, and her thoughts as well. Trying to form sentences was like wading through molasses, and in contrast, pleasure was so easy.
Why should she struggle to think, when acting was so much simpler?
It was a question that would have gone unasked, even if Sam was capable of the act. She rolled onto her backside, wiggling her bottom and bringing her paw from her breast. The rest of her shirt tore with the motion, but she paid it no heed.
Instead, the only thing on her mind was her aching, yearning honeypot. It was so hot, and she knew that the drool on her tongue was mercifully cool… Her head dipped between her own legs, and she was lost.
The girl’s grunted whimpers turned into the feverish snarls of an animal, and she mashed her face against her groin in a frenzy, lost to stimulation. A dam was building, walls of decency barely able to restrain the oncoming flood of ecstasy. Human hair fell from her head in matted clumps as if to visually express her weakening resolve, and as the last hair fell she reached a bliss her diminished mind wasn’t capable of describing.
She was barely even able to appreciate it, succumbing to the throes of passion and arching her back, her shaggy fur swaying. The orgasm lasted a minute, but that minute felt like a lifetime. All human thoughts vanished from the grizzly’s mind, then all other thoughts slipped away a second later. A welcome, warm darkness enveloped her.
The grizzly awoke later, the sun now beginning to dip behind the mountains. She rolled herself to her feet, slupping her tongue against her nose before padding her way towards that delicious-smelling river. She had worked up quite the appetite, and was looking forward to her first catch.
