(Man to Charizard)
(Woman to Dragonite)

Grant beamed, a childlike giddiness filling his veins. The young man was given a rare chance, one allotted to very view Pokémon trainers. Today, he was going to join the nation’s premier Dragon-Type gym.

All that was required of him was a simple test, and not even one that required the use of his own monster companions. As a matter of fact, the gym had even recommended he’d leave them at the nearest Pokémon center.

“Are you ready, trainer?”

The young man grinned, looking up to the large, green-lit screen above him. He had no doubt that it was a one-way mirror, meaning his examiner was watching him. “Of course. Whatever you ask, I guarantee you’ll know.”

“We’ll see about that. Name a Dragon Pokémon that isn’t a Dragon-Type.”

Every ounce of Grant’s confidence slipped from his chest in an instant, and his mind went blank. What did they mean by that? He hadn’t anticipated that. “Uhm.” He began, struggling to think about first Legendaries, then other similar Pokémon.

“Charizard.” He settled on eventually. “Wait, do its Mega Evolutions count?” His heart sank as he realized he might have just flubbed the question, and a strange electric tingle coursed through him from head to toe. He chalked it up to nerves.

“Only if you chose Mega Charizard. Very good response. Now, how tall is a Charizard?”

Grant wasn’t prepared for this. He gulped, his brow furrowing. “Well… They’re shorter than the average person.” He began, feeling the room begin to grow around him. A look of concentration spread across his face, and he set the odd feeling of his clothing to the back of his mind. “I want to say… They’re a little over five-and-a-half feet? But they’re two hundred pounds or so, I know that for sure.”

His gut began to swell next, as did his thighs and calves. It left him with a distinctly pudgy shape, though his arms remained as thin as ever. The man grunted, fanning at himself and looking to the glass worriedly.

“We’ll accept that. What color is a Charizard’s skin?”

“Um.” He closed his eyes, before nodding to himself. A sense of unease filled his skin, and he looked back up to the emerald-lit panel, a natural sensation flowing back into his form. “They’re orange, but not entirely. Their wings are green, and their chest is cream. I think it’s because of their skin, which is like a cross between scales and flesh.”

His own skin crawled as he spoke, losing its shade of human flesh in favor of the colors he’d just described. His shoulders ached, twin wings slowly sprouting from them, pressing against his shirt. Their tips tore through the fabric, and he grunted.

For a moment, he’d felt an iota of concern. He thought about looking back towards his wings, but the green screen above him glowed brighter, fixating his attention on it. Now that he looked at it closer, he could see that there was a faint spiral to it, one that brought his attention closer towards it.

The young man stared deeper into it, his blue eyes reflecting its glowing light. A trickle of drool slipped from his lips as his skin finished its discoloration, taking on a more rubbery sheen as it fully transitioned into the hide of a Pokémon.

“What made you think Charizard was a Dragon?”

The question snapped him to reality, and an easy smile settled along his features. “Well, you know. They have claws, fangs, those wings I mentioned… A draconic snout…” He looked back into the swirling green screen, and that calming sensation flooded him once more.

His heart beat gently in his chest, a steady pounding filling his ears as they drew to points. Then they pulled back towards the back of his skull, becoming the twin horns of a Charizard. He could still hear from them, so the feeling of having the mirrored objects wasn’t enough to jar him from the viewing screen’s hypnotic effect.

His neck clicked quietly as it grew, a natural sensation to him despite how utterly alien it was. He flexed his jaw as it began to extend outwards, his orange nose filling his vision even as it lifted into a proper snout.

Grant could feel his teeth sharpening in his snout, and a low growl slipped from past his lips. His new snout curled into a Charizard’s approximation of a smile, leaving him closer to a Pokémon than to a human.

Slowest of all, his hands began to change. His fingers and toes curled as they hardened, the middle digits receding into his skin to leave him with three claws per hand and foot. He absently clicked them against one another, eagerly awaiting the next question.

“Very good. Are there any characteristics you’re forgetting about?”

“Wrrgheell… Therrre rrrys the trrrail.” Grant rumbled as he spoke, picturing a Charizard as clearly as though he was looking at one. It was almost like the image of the Pokémon came more naturally to him than to his own human visage.

A second later, he grunted as the sharpest sensation of change yet assailed him. This time it alerted him to the fact that his body was changing, and he looked to his backside in a panic. His longer neck craned easily, and a low growl of disbelief slipped out from his jaw.

He watched as the backside of his pants bulged, swelling out longer and longer until it uncomfortably ached against them. A glow settled along the tip of the bulge, and black smoke curled from the top. Too late, he remembered that the tip of a Charizard’s tail constantly burned. The natural torch ignited his pants, and a long scaled tail curled out from behind his pudgy Charizard form.

“GRAU?” He rumbled in plain distress, pressing his smaller hands to his body, then to his neck, then to his face. Now that he was looking at his form, he could see just how much he’d changed, and just how far from humanity he’d slipped.

“Calm down.”

Grant looked up to the glowing screen, gasping as the glowing seemed to increase further and further. It resonated within his skull, and he huffed quietly. His chest rose and fell, and the man-turned Pokémon stared into its surface.

He didn’t know if he’d been looking at it for minutes or for hours, but he eventually came to his senses. The Charizard looked from left to right in a panic, then back to the screen. It no longer glowed green, and now that it didn’t he could see through it.

A Scientist looked down to him, a smile on the man’s face. He spoke, his lips moving in time with the speakers’ words. “This is still part of the test. For your final challenge, you must do to another as we have done to you. If you can transform a Trainer and retain your human mind, you are worthy of controlling Dragons. Should you fail… Well, we could always use another Charizard.”

Grant growled lowly, struggling to speak but finding his changed form unable. Slowly, he settled on nodding. It didn’t entirely sit right by him, but if it meant becoming a Gym Trainer and regaining his humanity… Well, what choice did he have?

Laura shifted from foot to foot anxiously, looking around eagerly. Today the cute brunette would be joining the Dragon Gym, and she’d never been more excited for anything in her life. Truth be told, she didn’t even think she deserved this honor-she’d have settled for a Bug-Type gym.

But when you get offered a chance of a lifetime, you take it.

The girl smiled up to the reflective glass, setting her anxieties to the back of her mind. “Okay! Cooltrainer Laura, ready for her exam!”

“Very good. All you must do to enter the gym,” a booming voice began, “is tame your new companion.”

“Tame my… New companion?” Laura blinked, tilting her head slightly to the right. “Wait, like, you mean you’ll be giving me a Pokémon of my own or something?”

“Or something.”

Laura smiled anxiously, hearing a door open somewhere to her right. She turned towards it, looking to see what her new companion would be. She hoped it would be a Dratini, that was her favorite.

The sight of a small flame doused her hopes of receiving the blue and white monster. Still, Charmander wasn’t too bad of a new friend. She’d always regretted taking a Bulbasaur. The girl patted her knees, looking with a smile towards her new friend.

“Come here, boy!” She grinned. “Or girl! I’d love to meet my new companion.”

She beckoned the animal forwards, slowly lifting her gaze to meet the creature. Her heart pounded in her chest as she looked at a Charizard’s impressive form. Granted, the species wasn’t a particularly tall one, but neither was she. Even though the Pokémon was only a little under six feet tall, she still had to look up to him.

And she knew it was a ‘him’, somehow. There was something in her chest that told her the creature was male, and a flush began to spread across her cheeks.

“You know what to do.” The voice spoke again, and Laura had a sinking sensation in her chest that the speaker wasn’t addressing her.

“Uhm…” Laura looked into the Pokémon’s eyes, standing as tall as she could. “Hi. I’m Laura, and I have enough badges to tame you… But I’d like to be more than just an owner. I’d like to be your friend.” She extended a hand, looking into his eyes.

They were green, and… glowing. Her mind relaxed as she looked to the animal, that warm feeling in her body growing. “I…” She began, but words wouldn’t come to mind. Her stomach ached slightly as it began to swell beneath her shirt, stretching its seams.

“Ghurrf.” The Charizard replied, the sound surprisingly warm to her ears. They began to recede into her head as she struggled to hear more of his tone. Twin prickling sensations massaged her scalp as a pair of long, thin antennae extended from her head. They twitched even as her ears vanished beneath her skin, the new appendages hearing for her.

She stared deeper into his emerald eyes, her antennae picking up the gentle breaths of his strong, sleek chest. Her tender hand pressed against him, her palm swelling as she touched his chest. It was an odd sensation, and one that almost broke her concentration.

Her hands were swelling, rounding out, and losing their human definition. Even her fingers were changing, receding towards her palms. As they did, a trio of small claws extended from between her fingers, and she wiggled them instinctively.

The Charizard opposite her growled dominantly, with something that sounded like prideful delight. Laura’s heart soared at that, a smile curling her lips. She didn’t know why the Pokémon was happy, but the thought that she’d been the source of his happiness was too good for her to pass up.

Laura’s heart pounded in her chest, and she bit at her lip anxiously, looking into the Charizard’s eyes. She felt an irresistible urge to feel him against herself, and so she pressed her chest against his chest. As she did, her gut ballooned outward, snapping her skirt and tearing through her shirt at the front.

The Pokémon rumbled with delight, a look of surprise on his handsome orange face. Newfound boldness and strength filled the girl, and she pressed harder against him. Her legs and arms bulged with bulk, a deceptive fat covering the hard muscle of a Pokémon-a Dragonite, to be specific.

Her species-to-be was much stronger than a Charizard, and he fell onto his backside with an adorable huff. Laura tackled him, arching her back as a pair of twin wings burst from her shoulders. They fluttered slightly, as a large tail forced her legs apart-her tail. She wriggled it delightedly, stiffening in surprise as the Charizard snaked his own tail around hers.

It was a little detail, but it was one that left her speechless. She pressed her pawlike hands against his sides, panting hotly as he cupped her cheeks in his claws. She could feel the sharp tips against her cheeks, but it didn’t hurt.

Then he pressed his lips to hers, and her world exploded into bliss. Laura could feel his large pink tongue gliding along hers, swelling her tongue within her mouth. She could feel her jaw broadening and coarsening, all the better to kiss him with.

Her skin took on a jaundiced yellow hue, then darkened further until it was the proper shade for a Dragonite. As it did, her pores closed along her scalp, sending her hair cascading around her cheeks like rain. It also exposed the top of her head to the cool air of the Gym, allowing her skull to grow a small and sharp horn.

Laura pulled her head from his, pausing to give his glowing green eyes a long look. Her tongue hung from her mouth, still connected to his tongue by a thin rope of drool. She felt so right, so perfect! The golden shade of skin covered the remainder of her chubby Dragonite body, and she went in for another kiss.

Thoughts of her life as a human slowly slipped from her mind, wiped clear by the lime glow of his eyes. Instead, she thought of herself as a Pokémon—as his Pokémon. She pressed her claws harder against his tubby chest, the portly Pokémon delighting in their shared chub.

Grant looked to the Dragonite before him, a blush across his own cheeks. Her eyes were blank and glazed, utterly vacant—and she looked beautiful. He went in for another kiss, his face growing warmer as he made out with the Dragonite who’d just been a cute human girl.

The only thing that indicated she was once a Trainer was a tattered shirt that clung to her body, a body that began to swell, from head to toe. His eyes widened as he kissed her, feeling her paws gripping behind his head, pulling him closer in for a deeper kiss.

Her shirt split as she grew larger than Grant’s Charizard body, two feet taller and two hundred pounds heavier. It let her easily hold the Charizard beneath her, her relentless kisses numbing his mind. A warmth flooded his body, and he slowly began to reciprocate the kiss.

“Tame your new partner, do not be tamed by her.”

The voice from above spoke, but Grant paid it no heed. Instead, all he focused on was the Dragonite in his arms, and the warmth of her strong body against his own. Together, they would make such wonderful partners… Such wonderful mates.

The thought was welcome within his mind, even as he began to lose it. He slowly began to think of himself as more of a Charizard, and less of a Trainer. He didn’t need to be a Gym trainer when he had such a lovely Dragonite to call his own. All he needed was her.

The two maintained their kiss, a greenish glow mirrored in both of their eyes. The two continued to embrace one another, to kiss one another, and to lose one another’s minds until there was nothing left but a pair of Pokémon fit for a Dragon-Type Gym.

“Pity, but a predictable one. Tell the Leader that we’ve a breeding pair for him—and make a note that this pair is inseparable.”

The voice spoke again, and neither Pokémon paid attention to it. It wasn’t giving their docile minds a command, and its words weren’t nearly as interesting as each other’s company.
