Jack was a sensible man, but as with all sensible men he had his weaknesses. For example, if he saw a game he liked, then he would buy it. Or if his ex-girlfriend sent him a text saying 'If you want to fuck, come 2 my place in 5', then he would somehow make the ten-minute drive to her apartment last a mere five minutes.

The latter happened to be the case now, as the brunette hammered the brakes on his car, burning rubber as he peeled into her driveway. The car had barely stopped before he shot out of it, knocking on her door in what he thought was a calm and collected manner; but what was actually like a starving, illiterate man's response to a 'PULL' door at McDonald's.

Ashley opened the door with a seductive smile, dressed in a short top and thin jeans. Her golden hair glinted like a halo as she gave him a radiant smile, and she began to speak with the dulcet tones of an angel who was ready to bone. "Well, you came quick... Though I supposed you're used to hearing that."

Suddenly Jack remembered why he'd stopped seeing her in the first place, and his eager smile began to sour. "You know, since you wanted me to drive over; you could have turned down the bitch a little."

"And here I thought you liked bitches." Ashley sniggered, laughing at some joke Jack didn't quite get. As if to clarify, she added, "But I suppose I'm thinking ahead."

"I don't get it." Jack said, beginning to get the impression that he'd have been better off at home.

As if she was reading his mind, the woman opened her door a little further, waving him in. "But I suppose you want to have a little 'private time' with me, don't you?"

Jack went from thinking from his one head to the other, and he immediately stepped through the threshold. His reward was hearing the door clicked locked behind him, and he turned in confusion. "Wait... So are we doing this in the bedroom or...?"

Ashley shook her head, smiling at the man with a chuckle. "Oh, we're not doing this anywhere. See, I have to tell you, I heard that you were telling my friends what a bitch I am... Right before hitting on them. That's not really the behavior of a man; it's more the insipid antics of a dog."

"Well, this has been a real treat." Jack sighed, moving to head past Ashley back outside. "But you know, look at the time-"

"Sit."

Ashley's words came like the crack of a whip, and with all the promise of pain should he refuse. Before Jack knew what he was doing, he dropped onto his hands and feet, squatting on his haunches like a dog.

"Wha?" He began, blinking in surprise.

"Good boy." Ashley said with a grin. She stooped down to Jack and began to pet his cheeks, a smile on her face that didn't reach her eyes. "Good dog."

"Whrrrrut arrr yooo..." Jack trailed off as he realized how speaking had become hard, and he looked back to Ashley onto to find his attention immediately diverted elsewhere.

While he'd intended to look at his ex and ask her what she was doing to him, a strange sight had derailed his train of thought before it had even left the station. The brunette's peripheral vision had revealed an unsettling sight: his nose and mouth were stretching away from the rest of his head, forming what could only be described as a muzzle.

"Ooh, I like that." Ashley smiled, playing with his nose as it darkened, becoming a black and spongy nose not unlike that of a dog's. "But I think that we could do a bit better... I want you to look as dumb as you are, so let's make you a little drooly."

Jack started to ask her what she was talking about, but the second he opened his mouth a long and floppy tongue spilled past his lips, dropping past his chin. He groaned loudly around its thick length with discomfort, feeling how long the appendage had gotten; then he began to drool.

It wasn't anything like Jack had experienced before in his life. Sure, there were times that he'd been particularly thirsty and had begun to salivate at the thought of water; but this was that same sensation to the tenth degree. He could feel water pooling in his mouth, spilling past his lips as they became dark and rubbery; soaking his shirt.

"Wufff'rrre ooo doooin?" Jack managed, his every word causing him to spray saliva from his mouth like he was an open faucet. He blushed with humiliation even as golden fur began to itch its way out from his pores, covering his face and hiding his blush.

"Hm? Well, I wonder..." The woman chuckled and pressed her hands against Jack's shoulders.

The oddest sensation began to sweep along Jack's body, one of growth in some places and shrinking in others. By the time she'd let up the pressure on his shoulders, he began to realize that something was very, very wrong.

The transforming man looked down to his squatted posture, seeing how natural it looked for him to be kneeling like this; how much it looked like he was looking from a dog's point of view. All of his clothes were larger on his body, looking very much like he was a pet whose owner had dressed him in a man's clothes.

Jack looked back up to Ashley for mercy, letting out a loud and sloppy "Woof!"

She giggled as he covered her face with drool, wiping it from her with a chuckle. "Okay, that's enough of that... I think I might just have you drooling whenever I want... Like when you deserve it, you dumb mutt."

Jack whimpered and lowered his lengthening ears at that, feeling them grow larger on his head and flop over. What did she mean by that? He didn't know why now, but he didn't like the feeling of being scolded... It made him feel hurt inside...

He began to whine even as a tail slinked out from past his backside, slipping with ease past the  loose waistband of his jeans. New muscles and nerves settled along its length as he tried to tuck it between his legs, finding the denim of his jeans to be a singularly upsetting obstacle to his tail's range of motion.

"Aw, does puppy not like wearing human clothes? Well, that's just fine by me." Ashley cooed in a sickeningly sweet tone, her every word laced with condescending sugar. "I bet little Boxer wants to get out of those awful rags."

Jack whined in confusion, distracted by his body, his ill-fitting clothes, and now by the new nickname she'd given him. There were simply too many things ailing his mind that he couldn't focus on a single one of them! "R-ruff?" He whimpered, his ears drooping a little lower as he struggled to determine what bothered him more.

During his momentary confusion, the last of his brown hair lightened to a bright gold and his eyes darkened to a rich brown. With that, his remaining human features were forever replaced with those of a golden-furred dog, one with a tendency to drool.

"Oh, or did I not tell you? You're not Jack anymore. You're Boxer. My dumb dog needs his dumb doggy name, doesn't he?" Ashley spoke with overwhelmingly cruel delight, reveling in Jack's conflict; in his indecision.

Her words allowed a lance of reason to strike through Jack's mind, and he began to growl lowly, backing away from her. Granted, the motion was a little hard with his human clothes on; but his backwards paces were able to at least remove his shoes and socks.

Ashley gasped in mock-surprise, chuckling with delight at the open hostility on his face. "Oh, or did you forget that you're a Labrador Retriever now?"

Jack growled a little louder at that, planning to somehow escape her clutches. He had to run; had to get away somehow so he could find where he could be safe!

Again, Ashley seemed to read his mind. She clapped her hands, the thunderous crack focusing Jack's attention on her as she said six words that changed Jack's life forever. "Boxer is my dumb, drooling dog."

Just like that, the man's mind was obliterated, blown away in an instant by the same magical force that had changed his form. His old life as a person forever vanished, now replaced by years and years of obedience lessons; lots of training and pampering flooding his memories.

"Ruff!" Boxer barked loudly, slobbering as he began to drool once more. He wagged his tail madly and looked to Ashley with wide and trusting eyes, loving her and trusting her unconditionally, as a good pet should feel towards their master.

"Good dog, you're a good dog! Aren't you just the dumbest, drooliest dog around?" Ashley cooed, petting Boxer's cheeks and bringing her hands to the strange person-things that were draped around his form.

The human known as Jack would have been a little upset at her words; at her actions. But the dog, Boxer, simply loved that he was getting affection, loved that he was being talked to by Ashley. He panted madly and wagged his tail harder, wriggling his body as it was freed of the restrictive things, liberating him of their constraints.

"Rrowff!" He barked again, prancing around in small and dumb circles; happy to be free at last. He amused himself by running around a little more; then hurriedly bounded towards Ashley, nuzzling her legs and licking her hands over and over.

Ashley, Ashley, Ashley!!! Boxer loved being with Ashley; he loved being pampered by her and playing with her and... Boxer paused and tilted his head, only to whine loudly and scamper to the door, pawing at it with need.

"Aw, does my puppy want to go potty?" Ashley cooed. "You'll need to go outside for that; my doggy would never make a mess in his master's house."

Funnily enough, Boxer had retained enough of his human intelligence to understand her words; and he nodded rapidly, flopping his tongue and ears alike. The motion coated the bottom of Ashley's door in drool, but he didn't care. He had to go! He was a good boy, and good boys went outside! He didn't want to be a bad boy!

"Does my dumb and drooly Boxer need to go outside so he can poop like the animal he is?" Ashley crooned, giggling as Boxer nodded once more.

He whined louder and stared at her with wide eyes, only to bark happily as she began to walk to the door. "Ruff!" He exclaimed, pushing out from the door in a hurry and looking from side to side anxiously, wondering how he should go about doing his business.

"Right by the tree, boy! Come on! Go to the tree and relieve yourself so we can go walkies!" Ashley chuckled, and Boxer hurried over as asked.

"Ruff!" He barked again, hurrying over to the tree and squatting down, panting dumbly as he relaxed control over his bowels. As a person, he'd no doubt have been mortified to defecate out in the open like this; but he was nothing more than a dumb dog now, and thus didn't care.

After a few seconds of squatting over, he was done; and the dog dashed back to Ashley, panting stupidly and wagging his tail.

"And pee. Don't forget to do that, okay?"  Ashley reminded the dog, and he barked loudly, bounding back to his tree and lifting his leg.

Boxer drooled onto the grass with relief as he let out a steady stream of urine, hearing it spattering against the bark of the tree and the grass below him. Then, just like that, he was done; and the dog bounded back to Ashley with a happy huff, panting in his usual drooly fashion.

Ashley sniggered and scratched her dog behind his ears. "Jack is my dumb, drooling ex."

The words made the dog shudder, and he blinked in surprise as his human personality reestablished itself. Much to his horror, he could remember everything he'd done as a dog with perfect clarity... And he couldn't remember anything of his old life. All he could think of was the life of a dog that he'd led; of the obedience school and the living as an animal.

"Whoops." Ashley sniggered, stroking Jack's cheeks with a smile. "And here I was forgetting to tell you the best part of all of this. You see, you're mine now. If you stray too far from me, or if I leave you home alone, you become Boxer again. If you displease or disobey me, you become Boxer again. And of course, if I want you to... You become Boxer again."

Jack whimpered and tucked his tail between his legs, realizing that his life as a human was forever at an end.

"And that's why I'm gonna go on a walk, and you're gonna follow me. Because if you get too far from me, your inner dog's gonna take over until I let you back in control again." Ashley spoke with a grin on her face, the self-satisfied smirk of a woman who'd won. Then she set off at a quick jog, and Jack let out a dumb yelp of surprise.

Already he could feel his new other self encroaching on his mind, and he raced forward on all fours, bounding beside Ashley in an attempt to keep up. The realization that it was now completely natural for him to move on all fours like this crossed his mind, but he knew there was nothing he could do about that.

He followed Ashley closely until they reached a house that he vaguely recognized; the door to the home opening to reveal a figure immediately familiar to him.

It was Liz! Jack wagged his tail as he recognized the woman, knowing her as one of their mutual friends. Sure, the fact that she liked Ashley had counted against her in his book; but she'd also hung out with him after their break-up. It was good to see a friendly face, maybe she-

"Aw, how cute!" Liz chimed, kneeling beside the Labrador Retriever and scratching his furry cheeks. She looked up to Ashley a second later, her next words filling Jack with dread. "This is your ex, right?"

"Oh, you know it is! I just wanted to show him off to you. Don't worry, he's already gone potty; which means he's up to do some tricks." Ashley laughed, speaking casually, as though they were discussing everyday matters.

Tricks? Tricks?? Jack gawped in shock, his mouth falling slack and drool openly pooling past his dark and rubbery lips. He didn't want to embarrass himself in front of someone he knew, why would he ever-

"Boxer is my dumb, drooling dog."

"RRUFF!" Boxer barked loudly, slobbering as he bounced eagerly in place, panting as he eagerly awaited his master's next actions.

"Hey! Hey there boy! See the ball?" Ashley sniggered, holding out an empty hand, but miming as though there was a ball in her hand.

Of course, Boxer had no idea that there wasn't a ball in Ashley's hands. After all, she had said that she had a ball in her hands, and there was no reason for her not to have a ball in her hands, right? No, of course there wasn't!

"Rowf!" He barked loudly, slobbering as he studied her hand. He still couldn't see it, but he believed her that there was a ball in her hand with all his heart. And if there was a ball, he wanted it!

"Aw, do you want this?" Ashley raised her hand over Boxer's head, making him look up, drool trickling down his golden-furred neck onto his paws.

He whined and wagged his tail harder, opening his mouth wide. Then Ashley flicked her hand into Liz's house, and Boxer barked with loud pleasure. She'd let go of the ball! Ball ball ball! It could be his ball, he just had to find it!

Without a human thought in his mind, the dog set off in search of an invisible prize, wagging his tail and drooling with pleasure. When his human mind inevitably returned, he'd no doubt feel more humiliated than he'd ever been in his entire life.

But for now, Ball! Boxer wanted Boxer's ball! He pressed his damp, spongy nose to the carpet and sniffed it happily, his tail swishing from side to side as he began to try and sniff it out. Just because he couldn't see it didn't mean it wasn't there!

He pressed his nose intently to the carpet, heedless of how the soft hairs tickled his nostrils, and began to crawl around the floor like a caterpillar. Sure, he looked ridiculous; but he had to find his ball!

Boxer searched under the couch, in front of the television, behind an armchair; but none of the places held his elusive prize. He drooped his ears and raised his nose a little higher, giving up for now in hopes that his master could help him find it.

His dog's sense of smell was able to find her in no time. She'd moved from the foyer to the kitchen, and was kneeling on all fours to reach something in the freezer.

"Honestly Liz; it's just you and your sister here! Why do you always have to hide the ice cream in the back of the freezer?" The woman grumbled, rummaging through the cupboard.

"Because if it was somewhere easily reachable, it'd be gone? You know-Oh, hi Boxer!" Liz noticed the golden lab entering the room, and she smiled.

"Ruff!" He barked back, darting straight for Ashley and sniffing at her bottom, placing his paws on her hips so that he could get a really good whiff of her scent. From her position, he wasn't really sure that it was her or not, but it sure smelled like her.

"H-hey!" Ashley yelped, laughing and lightly swatting his snout. "You've never been an ass man before; why start now?"

"Aw, he just missed you!" Liz began, though her next words were drowned out by a loud cry.

"PUPPY!!!"

A blue-haired blur tackled Boxer off of Ashley, petting him and scratching him and filling him with the wondrous pleasures of being a pampered pup.

His eyes lolled back in his head from the unexpected pleasure of a synchronized belly rub and a chin-scratchie, and Boxer let his tongue hang from the side of his mouth loosely.

"Hey Mara. Back from classes already?" Liz chuckled, looking at her sister with a smirk on her face.

"Mhmm! You know, you said that college was supposed to be hard, but so far it's a piece of cake!" The nineteen-year-old girl smirked, bringing her hands up to rub Boxer's cheeks. "And I bet you like cake, don't you, you sillybilly puppywuppy?"

Boxer would have recoiled from the doggy speak were he a human, but his doggy brain simply adored the tone of voice Mara had adopted with him! He started to drool a little harder at the thought of cake; then shamelessly licked Mara's face, slobbering over her soft skin.

"H-hey! Stop it, haha!" The girl beamed, looking up to Ashley with a smile. "So I take it this is Jack? I like him a lot better this way."

"He's Boxer now, but yes." Ashley said with a nod, only to laugh as the blue-haired girl pulled out a knotted rope from her back pocket. "Have you been saving that for when I brought him over?"

"You'll find I take dogs very seriously." The girl responded with a smile, scratching Boxer's cheeks and eliciting another loud whine of content.

This was so much fun! There were all these people and they were talking about him and one was pampering him and ROPE. Roperoperope! Boxer froze and stared intently as Mara began to sway the knotted object above him.

"Oh, does Boxer want his ropey-wopey? Well, he'd better get ready to tug-of-war for it!" Mara scrambled to her feet and dangled the end just in front of his nose. "C'mon, boy! Get the rope! Get the rope!"

"Rrrowf!" Boxer barked loudly, his proclamation punctuated by the wet splatter of saliva against the ground. Roperoperope! Forget the ball, there was now rope! He chomped down against it with a happy growl, tugging back against Mara to find that she was surprisingly strong.

"Oh, you're a drooly one, aren't you? I bet you're just the dumbest, drooliest dog there ever was!" Mara laughed, tugging on her end of the rope and giggling as she dragged Boxer a little closer to her.

Drool openly dripped from the sides of his mouth as he struggled to regain control over the little bout, but it was a little harder than he expected! That was good, made play fun! Boxer wagged his tail madly as he pressed all four of his paws against the ground, pulling a little harder against the cord.

"Aw, he looks even dumber now than he did as a person!" Liz chuckled, the soft tone of her words belying the sharpness they held.

"I know, right? Sorry, you might need a mop after this." Ashley laughed in agreement, beaming as Boxer simply wagged his tail.

Some part of him knew that those words were hurtful and would take deep offense once Jack resurfaced. But seeing as how Boxer was the one in control right now, he could hardly care the less! All he wanted was to get his rope, and with a loud bark he pulled back with all his might.

This time, his efforts were rewarded with a yelp from Mara, and the girl tumbled forward, allowing Boxer to snatch the cord from her and prance around the room like an idiot.

After all, what did he care of the words or snide thoughts of humans? He was a dog, a dimwitted Labrador Retriever who cared of nothing but the pleasures that lay within being treated just like the dumb animal he was.

Boxer happily barked as they knelt down by him, covering their faces in slobbery and affectionate licks. Every pass of his tongue coated their cheeks in his thick drool, and Liz pulled back with a slightly disgusted look on her face.

“I feel like I’ve just been slimed!” She gagged, crinkling her nose much to her friend and sister’s amusement.

They laughed, and Boxer huffed happily, delighted that they were happy. He loved their attention, wanted more; wanted to be their dumb dog forever! The Labrador Retriever panted more, wagging his tail and looking at the three women with nothing less than adoration.

Indeed, boxer loved his new owners; and even if the dog’s other personality would much disagree with such a sentiment, there was absolutely nothing he could do about it save live the canine life that was now forever his own.
