(Woman to Chimpanzee)

Li smiled as she paced through the exhibits at her new job. This was her first real day on the job, and she was totally killing it. Who knew working the ape exhibit at the National Zoo was so easy? Hell, all of the animals seemed to love the guards—even though they were a little cautious of her. She’d just need to keep at it, and she’d be friends with them for sure.

“You like how things are going, kiddo?”

The voice of her mentor startled her into the present, and she grinned at the middle-aged man leaning on a wall across from her. He was swirling a small test tube in his hands, and the Asian girl looked at him with a wry smile. “What’s the lab stuff for, Tommy?”

Tommy straightened up, holding it out. “Tonight’s your first night working alone, right? This is a little rite of passage for you.”

Li picked it from his hands, looking at the vial warily. “What, I have to drink this? What is it?” Bad images of her sorority hazing started to fill her mind; experiences that had left her quite wary of ‘rites of passage’ like this. Were her suspicions correct, she was about to ingest some sort of urine.

Tommy laughed, no doubt reading her mind. “Relax, kiddo. It’s a little transformative juice, proprietary stuff.”

Li smiled. “So… Like TransFun?”

Tommy nodded. “Like that, but with instincts turned up to 11. You drink this, you really change—and unlike other serums, you remember everything when you change back.” He tapped his head. “Makes a difference when you’re wondering how certain animals act, let me tell you that.”

Li nodded with understanding, looking down to the vial. “So… You want me to change into a monkey?”

“A chimpanzee for a day, yes. You did tell me you liked them.” Tommy grinned. “Trust me, you’ll find this is pretty enjoyable. As a matter of fact, more than a few of our animals are employees, so to speak. Doesn’t pay well, but you get housing, food, company… Lotta people get used to it.”

Li bobbed her head again. “I can imagine! But how does the change back happen? Is it safe?”

Tommy laughed out loud. “Remember that tiger cub we had you ‘retrieve’ during training? That was Janny, from HR. We keep a very detailed timetable of when we need to pick up our transformed employees. You have any other questions?”

Li blushed as she looked at Tommy. “Do… Do you mind if I keep my clothes on when I take this, taking them off as I change?” She asked with a small smile.

“Hell, I won’t be watching. Follow me to the ‘Changing Room’, get in a cage, and click the button when you drink the serum. Change takes about five minutes, give or take. I’ll give you ten to get comfy.” Tommy chuckled, walking to an unused corner of the zoo. At least, Li had thought it to be unused.

Her eyes widened, and she hurriedly followed after him, setting off at a light jog. Her heart started to race with each step. She’d always wanted to try TransFun, but she was saving vacation time for it. Now she got the chance to transform at work? This was like a dream come true!

Li smiled as she passed through an unmarked doorway, finding a room which led to an oversized cage atop a small flatbed. “Um…” She gestured, noticing a red button in front of the door.

“Yeah, we need it this big for when someone decides they’d like to be an elephant for a bit. On the bright side, it gives you plenty of room to stretch out and transform.” Tommy grinned at her, giving the girl a thumbs-up. “I’ll be right outside for when you’re done. Hit the button and close the door, it’ll lock automatically.” He paused. “And… Try to have a little fun with this.”

Li nodded eagerly, waiting for her teacher to leave before slapping the red button and walking into the cage. It shut with a reassuring click behind her, and she smiled at it, trusting the doors would remain shut until she was a part of her new enclosure.

If she would be a part of a new enclosure. Li chuckled a little nervously, realizing that she might not actually transform, and this might all be one elaborate prank. Either way, there was only one way to find out…

The dark-haired girl looked down to the vial in her hands, and with a knock of her head she downed it in one go. It tasted oddly fruity, and left a tingling all over her body. Of course, that could just be a placebo effect…

Li chuckled again; then her laugh degenerated into a monkey-like hooting. Eyes wide, Li placed her hand on her chest and wondered if that was just her or a placebo effect of the serum. She had her answer a moment later as her feet started to ache.

Eyes wide, Li looked down to her shoes, grimacing as a pang of discomfort came from within the canvas sneakers. Hurriedly, the girl made to strip herself of the offending garments, her eyes widening as she saw them seem to ripple. It could only be her feet changing, and the girl squeaked as she popped them off to find a pair of appendages that were certainly not her feet.

Li cooed, looking down to her transforming feet and wiggling them. Her socks were stretched to their limits, each of her digits lengthened to look almost like her fingers. She stared in surprise as her big toes cramped a little, popping down to her arches and growing to be longer than her thumbs.

Finally, Li couldn’t bear to see her toes covered any longer. She slipped her increasingly hairy thumbs into the lips of her socks, tugging them down with an anticipatory grin plastered on her features. Her smile only widened when she saw that her skin had darkened from its golden tan to a more simian black.

And just as her eyes alit on her bare feet, the rest of Li’s body began to feel… funny. Her clothes all felt a little unnatural on her body, and her skin started to itch all over. The girl idly scratched at her underarms, wondering what this latest change could be.

Then Li chuckled with amusement, realizing that her thoughts had started to get a little dimmer. The Asian zookeeper smiled, shaking her head as she started to strip herself, one arm still fixated on itching her underarms no matter how much she tried.

The increasingly-simian girl trembled, feeling another wave of itchiness sweep over her. It wasn’t as scratchy as before—this was like she was being poked with thousands and thousands of tiny needles all along her body. She squeaked in discomfort, her hands pawing at her clothes as she tried to run her nails all along her body.

It felt like she was having an allergic reaction to her clothes, the fabric no longer cotton but now made of starched cardboard—and big cardboard at that!

Li shivered, unwilling to abandon this sign of her humanity just yet. Instead, she looked down to her arm to distract herself, hoping to see the same gentle arm hairs that she normally had.

To the zookeeper’s immense surprise, she found that the little dark hairs that she’d meant to trim were lengthening; itching like mad as they grew out all along her body and covered her from her head to her toes. It was like there was a billion tiny little fairies poking her with pins and needles, forcing her body to change!

Li groaned again, her hands flying all over her body as her clothes seemed to expand a little more on her. The girl grabbed at her belt to tighten it, scratching at her hairy knuckles for a moment, just enough of a reminder to bring her back to the changes sweeping across herself.

“Ahh! Too-oo-oo itchy!” She hooted, whimpering plaintively as her body grew a thick coat of fur. She fell on her butt and looked at her toes, hoping they’d change more and give herself something else to think about.

Thankfully, her wish was soon granted. Her skin darkened a little more, turning a deep black that was almost the same as her hair. Her nails grew rougher; less detailed as though she’d never had a pedicure in her life. And her toes… That was the most magical part for the transforming zookeeper.

“Oh my Gahh-ahh-ahhd!” She squeaked, bending down to grab her feet with her hands. She was so excited that she didn’t even notice how much more flexible she’d gotten; she was too preoccupied with how skinny her toes were getting and how they lengthened as they thinned out.

It both looked and felt like her toes were becoming fingers; that her feet were becoming hands. And what were hands without thumbs? Li stared in rapt interest as her big toes cracked and popped, moving to run almost perpendicular with the rest of her feet. A small smile ran into her face as she wiggled her new thumb-toe, and she moved her hand down to it, shaking her hand with the new appendage.

Li hooted with glee at how simple the motion was, and she grabbed her other hand with her foot, feeling it pop and shorten into what was basically just a longer hand for her. The girl smiled to herself with pleasure, then widened her eyes as she realized that her clothes were getting baggy on her new body.

That was great; she had to be shrinking into a proper size! Unfortunately, it also meant that her clothes were getting more and more uncomfy. The changing chimp hooted to herself with irritation, rolling onto her back and trying to kick her too-large pants off.

She barely had any effect, and the girl hollered a little more, wrapping her leg-hands around her shirt and her arm-hands around her shorts. With a little more undignified rolling and a lot more effort, she finally tugged the clothing off, getting it just around the edges of her hands. Then she grinned to herself happily, giving a wide-toothed smile to nobody in particular as she let go with all four of her hands, letting the cloth sail off of her as she finished another turn.

Li beamed with pleasure as she gazed upon her newly naked form, scratching herself and hollering with content. Yeah, this felt a lot better—she finally felt natural in her changing body, and the chimp-girl was free to scratch at herself and act like as much of a monkey as she wanted.

Li smiled, stretching out her arms and marveling at how perfectly hairy they were. That said, there was definitely something missing... She frowned, looking down to her hands to piece together what was odd about her body.

Then, with a faint cracking and popping, her arms began to lengthen. The chimp-girl hooted with amusement as her arms made the distinct transition from the delicate arms of a human woman to the long and gangly limbs of a chimp.

Li laughed louder, rolling around and practicing running on all fours around her cage like a chimp. To her surprise, it was remarkably easy. It was almost like she'd been born to move like this!

Some small part in the back of her head chimed in to tell her that this was simply the result of her back reconfiguring to better allow monkey-like movement, but the girl ignored it dutifully. Instead, she focused on how easy it was to stoop and hunch like the animal she was becoming.

Her eyes widened as she realized another thing she should be able to do now. She could climb! Li gripped onto the bars of her cage with all four of her hands, slowly scaling it with a dumbfounded smile on her face.

It was incredible how easy this was; her new limbs were so strong and powerful! “I'm a climbing gah-ah-ahdess!” Li hooted to herself, grinning as she swung gaily on the upper bars of her cage like a kid on a playground.

She could have kept this going for hours too, were it not for her face beginning to ache. The girl dropped nimbly to all four of her limbs, snorting and huffing in distress as she pawed at her face.

Why was she aching like this, wasn't this her normal—oh! The serum! Li shook her head, remembering that she still had her normal face. She smiled dumbly as her lips began to thicken, puffing up gently as they stretched out to a simian muzzle.

It was like her head was playing tug-of-war with some unseeable force, and the force was winning. As her muzzle came in, it shrank her skull and the girl whined with slight distress at the feeling of her head shrinking and lengthening at the same time.

As if to complicate things more, her nose flattened out on her face, its bridge sinking back into her muzzle even as the tip grew larger, surrounding her big nostrils as they expanded. She picked at one of them as it grew, 'ah'ing faintly to herself.

She would have dug her other hand into her nose as well, were it not busy massaging her jaw. While her upper jaw had stopped growing, her lower jaw was still extending, getting longer and longer with each passing second.

Li hooted softly, blowing her lips and running her thick tongue along them and her changed teeth. To her surprise, they felt right; natural. She loved the sensation of her monkey tongue over her teeth, and she smiled to nobody in particular to express how much she loved it.

The zookeeper had lost most of her mind by now, but that bit that remained was full of pleasure and delight alike. Life keeping the monkeys healthy was replaced with life as a monkey in her head, but Li still held onto her sense of identity.

Even if she didn't have that much of a sense as to what she should look like... The girl pulled on her ears to lengthen them to a more 'proper' position, letting them grow much larger on the sides of her head.

Finally, they reached a perfect size, and only two things were left. Her breasts, and her tummy. Luckily for her, the change decided to take care of both of these at once, and Li hooted with pleasure as she looked back at her smallish breasts, finding them already receding into her body.

And as they diminished, her tummy grew, getting a little chubby just like a chimp should have. She hooted with pleasure at this latest change, pawing at her flat simian teats, then jiggling her small monkey gut.

Li loved this change most of all, and she hooted with amusement at how much fun it was to play with her own body. Her head felt so much lighter now, like she was sinking into some abyss of becoming an animal...

The girl blinked as she realized she couldn't really remember her name, and she scratched at the top of her head in mild confusion. It started with an... What was the letter for it? Come to think of it, what were letters?

The chimp blinked and scratched her head as she tried to remember what the zookeepers called her. That was important, wasn't it? That she responded to... Koko!

The name came into her brain suddenly, shocking her blank mind and overwriting what little remained of Li. The girl had no idea that this body came preprogrammed with its own name, and she was quickly swept away in favor of the chimp.

“Oooh ooh ah!” Koko hollered, itching her right underarm as she climbed the walls of her cage. She was a monkey, a perfect chimpanzee! This was her life and she loved it! The chimp climbed happily, swinging on the bars with a vacant smile on her face as she entertained herself.
