(Man to Vaporeon)
(Female to Vaporeon)
“So… What are these, again?” Ash looked into the box, a nervous laugh escaping the trainer from Pallet Town’s throat. He looked up again, arching an eyebrow at his friend, Misty.
Usually she was the one for more down-to-earth ideas, but this time it seemed like the orange-haired beauty had settled on something outrageous. A new trend was sweeping Kanto: costumes that were capable of transforming people into Pokémon. Ash hadn’t thought too much of it until Misty had ordered them a pair, insisting they try them on in her gym.
Now, surrounded by the waters of Cerulean City’s finest pool, the two were down to their bathing suits, looking at the crystal clear surface. Or, rather, Misty was the one staring at the water. Ash kept his nervous glances fixated on the box with two costumes in front of him.
Misty finally noticed her friend’s unease, and she turned to him with a smile. “Something wrong? You know, you do still owe me for that bike, and this would go a long way to making up for that.”
Ash blinked, his worries momentarily forgotten. “Wait, what? I thought you’d forgiven that?”
Misty laughed, pulling out a blue suit from the box. “I only put off your loan, you know.” She giggled, sticking out her tongue. “Besides, I don’t remember anything about you making any payments at all towards my bike."
Ash gasped. “N-no fair! Didn’t Nurse Joy fix up your bike for you? Why should I owe you anything for that?”
“It’s the principle of it, dummy!” Misty said with a smile, even as she slipped her legs into the new suit. “Besides, what’s wrong with becoming Vaporeons? I thought you liked Eevees.”
Ash groaned, knowing when he was defeated. He picked up his own suit, beginning to slip it on one leg at a time. “I still don’t like the idea of becoming something that Pikachu is super-effective against…” He groaned, his last vestiges of defiance crumbling.
“And that’s why he’s with my sisters.” Misty chuckled, slipping her suit up to her shoulders. It felt a lot better than she’d imagined, like warm and wet latex molding to her form. Then again, she really shouldn’t have expected anything less from something that would make her into a Vaporeon.
Ash noticed this sensation too, but unlike Misty, he was caught by surprise. His eyes widened at how magically wonderful the suit felt, and he trembled with a faint pleasure. It was like stepping into a warm gel bath, one that hugged his every muscle, sliding over him and embracing him soothingly.
“That’s not what I thought would happen.” He chuckled a little nervously, sliding into his suit a little faster. If this was how it felt to get into the costume, he could scarcely imagine how it would feel to transform!
The two trainers zipped themselves up to their necks, and they looked at each other with a soft smile, slipping over their hoods with a grin. Ash kept his eyes closed for a few moments, then opened them when he realized that he didn’t feel any different.
Misty greeted him with a small laugh. “Having fun?”
Ash blinked, frowning at her. Was she teasing him? “I mean… It’s nice to wear this, but I don’t think it’s working.”
Misty nodded with a small smile. “That’s because you need to click the little Poké Ball on your wrist. Each one gives you about an hour’s worth of change.” She smiled at Ash happily, clicking the button on hers.
A second after she did, a tremble ran through her body. Ash watched with wide eyes as her costume’s tail began to twitch from side to side. A loud clicking ran through the room as her hips and shoulders popped, and she fell to all fours, her arms and legs reshaping to better fit within her costume’s confines.
The muzzle of her costume began to flex and move more naturally, and Ash suspected that her face was stretching to fit it better. Sure enough, the next words out of Misty’s mouth were a set of ‘Vaporeon’s, and her frills shook a little bit, as though she was flexing their new nerves.
Then she started to shrink, and Ash yelped in surprise. He should have seen it coming: the suits were supposed to offer full body transformation. However, that didn’t keep it from being any less surprising when it started to happen before him. Like seeing someone part a sea or walk on water, this was a miracle to behold.
One second Misty was the size and proportions of a normal human, albeit with the appearance of a Vaporeon. The next, her hips and shoulders had reconfigured, throwing her to all fours. This wasn’t the end of it, though: her arms and legs began to get smaller and smaller as the rest of her body shrank, dwindling her down to the size of a common Pokémon.
The new Vaporeon looked up at Ash with a trill of laughter, pawing at her wrist with amusement. Ash got the image and triggered his own suit, his finger clicking into the small Poké Ball that was just under his palm.
Immediately a shiver of sensation ran through his body; a warm flowing feeling that coursed over him like the suit was melting into him—or rather, that he was melting into the suit. The rubbery faux-Vaporeon skin became his own; he could feel his hands become paws; even his face felt right in the muzzle.
However, the oddest thing about this change would have to go to the tail of his suit. It felt like he was flowing into it, his muscles and nerves connecting to the long aquatic tail, letting it flit from side to side. He trembled in surprise, turning around to see that he had full control over this new appendage.
‘Ah!’ Ash yelped, the noise exiting his throat as a loud “Vaporeon!” He blinked in surprise, working his new muzzle and shaking out the frills along his head. He couldn’t believe that this was happening: he was really changing into a Vaporeon! Which meant…
Ash felt his heart hammer with excitement, and he smiled as a shudder ran along his body, falling to all fours as if he’d been born to stand on paws instead of hands and feet. His whole body felt so natural to change like this that Ash barely noticed as a gentle pressure applied itself all around him, compressing him down to a smaller form.
The costume tightened, molding his image to be that of a perfect Pokémon, and Ash loved every second of it, sighing contentedly as he worked out how to best stand on four legs. The most surprising aspect of this change was its fluidity: he didn’t expect how elegant it was to be perched on paws.
‘You look great!’ Misty’s voice chirped, even though his ears told him that a Vaporeon was saying its name beside him.
‘I do? Wait, I can hear you?’ Ash stared in surprise, his eyes wide. ‘Do these costumes let us talk to Pokémon?’
Misty chuckled, the laugh sounding flowing and melodic through her new throat. ‘I don’t think so… I think this is a new language that’s been designed for the suits. Like, people wearing them share a mental connection, and while we can pick up a few words of Poké-speech, we won’t be able to grasp it fully.’
‘Oh.’ Ash said, a little disappointed that he couldn’t use these suits to speak to his own team. Then he perked up, remembering he had a new body to explore. He darted back and forth happily, testing out the range of motion of his form. It was surprisingly agile, his tail giving him a good degree of balance instead of unbalancing him like he’d thought.
He was having a good deal of fun, right up until a jet of water smacked into his side. Caught off-guard, Ash fell into the pool with a surprised burble.
For just a minute of panic, Ash realized that he didn’t know how to swim in this form—the instincts weren’t coming to him! Then, with a joyous laugh, he realized that he could breathe underwater. He paddled with all four of his paws, his tail sweeping elegantly from side to side, bringing him back to the surface of the pool.
Misty stood waiting for him, her head perched on her paws as she watched in amusement. ‘By the way, you can use any move your Pokémon would know. All you have to do is think it, and it’ll happen. Like this!’
She rolled onto her back, spitting out a jet of water that almost reached the high ceiling of her gym. Then the trainer rolled back onto her paws, looking at Ash with a huge smile. ‘That was Water Gun.’
‘So… If I think of Surf?’ Ash grinned impishly, the image of the tidal force sweeping through his mind. As it did, the water around him rippled, and a titanic wave appeared behind him.
‘Wait, what?’ Misty yelped, her eyes as round as saucers.
The wave crashed down on her, sending her deep into the water with Ash. He laughed, concentrating on using Dive and exploring the bottom of the Cerulean gym’s pool with Misty. Much to his surprise, there was a beautiful coral display, deep enough to not be touched by battles. He swam through it happily, admiring the gorgeous underwater scenery.
‘Hey! I think I’ve got something really fun for us to do!’ Misty chirped, swimming up to him and interrupting his reverie.
‘Oh? What’s that?’ Ash asked, his curiosity piqued.
‘We do… This.’ Misty laughed, her form turning to water and dissipating within the pool.
‘Wh-what happened? Misty, are you okay?’ Ash yelped, swimming in small circles in search of his friend.
‘O-oh, you’re swimming in me! This is incredible! Ash, you need to use Acid Armor, right now!’
‘Acid… Armor?’ The second the thought passed through his mind, Ash felt himself begin to liquefy. It was something he’d never even dreamed of experiencing: he went from a full and healthy Pokémon to a puddle inside a pool in less than a second.
There were no words to describe the feeling of being deconstituted—there was just a rush of cool and flowing sensation across his form. He went from swimming in the water to actually being the water within the pool, his body melting into the water, flowing freely through a liquid domain.
He could just let himself seep through the coral he’d been admiring, feeling so warm and content with the world. It was like the water was giving him a warm and loving embrace, while also massaging his body from frills to tail. This beat anything he’d experienced—even Lavaridge’s hot springs.
Quietly, Ash made a mental note to get Misty to travel to Hoenn to try out their suits there. If it felt this good to be in a pool, then it must feel even better to melt into a warm and steamy sauna. He let himself drift for a few minutes, aimlessly floating beneath the rippling surface of the cool waters.
‘Now, let’s have some real fun.’ Misty’s voice cooed, and a faint ripple started to undulate through the waters.
Ash gasped in surprise, feeling himself being gently pulled back and forth by the motion of a simulated current. ‘I didn’t know this pool could do that!’ He exclaimed, noticing that his voice sounded a little muffled, as though he was speaking through a glass of water.
‘Most people don’t. This is a privilege reserved for special Water-Type trainers.’ Misty chuckled, her aqueous form flowing by Ash’s. ‘But in your case, I figured we could make an exception.’
‘Glad to hear that.’ Ash smiled, sinking deep into the warm relaxation that was his new amorphous body. He had no limbs, no sense of self—he was just a stream of water, elegantly flowing through the pool.
Misty joined him, her own form flowing around him and through him until he barely knew whose form was whose. With a small start of realization, he realized that he didn’t quite care. The only thing that mattered was the feelings of calm relaxation that had swept across his body, leaving him to feel so comfortable and at peace with the world.
He was floating in an ocean of calm peacefulness, feeling occasional tickles of delight as Misty’s form would flow in and out of his own. The world was a gently running current full of amazing sensation, setting the trainer’s mind at ease.
Ash could feel every inch of his liquid body, enjoy the cool running of the pool’s water around his own. It was the best time of his life, freely flowing throughout the pool, together with Misty. It was a little like the old times they’d shared together, but now it was so much more thanks to their mutual dissolution.
He let out a bubbling purr from the blob of water that was his body, closing his eyes and just letting himself relax and stretch out, drifting as far apart as his form would let him. Ash was in such heaven, he didn’t ever want this wonderful bliss to stop.
Then doors to the gym exploded.
“To protect the world from devastation!” A female voice loudly announced. Her visage was hidden by the smoke of the detonation, but there was no mistaking the intro to Team Rocket’s motto.
“To unite all peoples within our…” A male voice began, trailing off in disappointment. “Oh, there’s nobody here. I could have sworn I saw those twerps duck in here a little bit ago.”
A third, more nasally voice joined the two, just as the dust began to clear. “Is that a problem? Without those kids in the way, we might actually get a Pokémon today!”
“Hey, you’re right!” The male voice chirped, walking into the room to confirm Ash’s suspicions. He was a tall, blue-haired man with a somewhat dopey look on his face: James of Team Rocket. “I don’t see anyone… This could be our lucky break!”
A redheaded woman followed him: Jessie, his compatriot. “Well, then stop standing around talking about it and get to work!” She snapped, glancing left and right quickly to make sure her partner’s eyes weren’t deceiving him.
Ash felt a cool running sensation pass through himself, but he was too busy glaring at the Rockets to pay it much heed. Of course they’d come in here on his day off. Worse, he didn’t have any Pokémon! Ash mentally grit his teeth, then blinked in surprise. Where was Misty?
“Hey… What’s a Vaporeon doing in here?” The third speaker popped his head through the doorway, lugging a huge hose behind him. One of the world’s few talking Pokémon: the Scratch Cat, Meowth.
The Rocket Pokémon was staring right at a recently-reformed Vaporeon whose frills were on edge, glaring at the intruders. Ash sighed mentally. That explained the rushing sensation he’d felt… He should have expected the Gym Leader would defend her home turf.
Meowth dropped the hose with a grunt, stretching its back in an overdramatic fashion. It looked up at its cohorts with a sneer. “And why am I the one who always has to carry the heavy stuff?”
“Less chatty, more battling. Apparently this little cutie wants to defend the gym all by itself.” Jessie sneered, pulling out a Poké Ball. “Arbok, go!” She tossed it forward with an overly confident smile on her face, beaming as the purple cobra landed on the ground before her.
‘Ash, come on!’ Misty shouted in a series of “Eon”s. She grit her teeth, growling at the encroaching danger.
“Meowth, what’s it saying?” Jessie looked down to the team’s translator.
To her disdain, the cat Pokémon shrugged. “I’m not sure, my Vaporeon’s apparently a little rusty… I think it’s challenging us to a fight.”
“Well, two’s a fight, but three’s where the fun begins!” James called, tossing out a Poké Ball of his own. “Weezing, let’s do it!”
His own Pokémon floated in the air, a grin on both of its faces as it saw how outnumbered its opponent was.
The grins soon faltered as Ash reformed himself, leaping from the pool to land next to Misty. Thankfully, it was easier than he’d thought: he simply had to think about ending Acid Armor, and just like that he was a Vaporeon again.
Unfortunately, he was a Vaporeon about to fight a pair of trained Pokémon. ‘What should we do?’ He asked, sending a worried glance to Misty.
‘What do you mean by that? Shouldn’t you know, Mr.-Champion-In-The-Making?’ She called back, evidently having picked up the phrase from one of the hangers-around at her gym. The transformed trainer nimbly sidestepped a telegraphed Tackle from Weezing.
‘Well, yeah… But you’re the Water-Type trainer!’ Ash shouted, narrowly dodging a Poison Sting from Arbok.
‘Fair enough. Ice Beam, on three!’ She called back, leaping to Ash’s side. ‘One! Two! Three!’
“Oh, I got some of that! I think she said Ice Beam!” Meowth chirped, proud to fulfill his role.
Then the trio of Rockets’ eyes bulged, and they chorused in unison: “Ice Beam!”
Ash and Misty opened their mouths wide, the air crystallizing before them in a small orb. Then, a lance of frost energy struck out from their jaws, smacking into the Rockets and their Pokémon, freezing them solid.
Of course, it didn’t stop there. The wintery onslaught continued, and before the Rockets fully realized what was going on, their frozen forms were hurled back through the air, tossing them all the way back to Viridian City.
“Looks like Team Rocket’s blasting off again!” They screamed, vanishing into the air.
Misty huffed, glaring at the pinprick in the sky that marked the villains’ departure. ‘Mess with the best…’ She said cockily.
Ash laughed, playfully swatting her with one of his paws. She batted him back, letting out a soft and happy yip.
‘Still, all of that fighting’s left me in the mood for a relaxing soak. Care to join me in the pool?’ Misty asked with a small chuckle, her form already beginning to melt away.
Ash responded by using Acid Armor himself, his laughter joining hers as they once more flowed into the warm, rippling waters. Ash had to admit: this was definitely one of the best ways to spend his day.
