(Man to Woman)
It had all started with a kiss. Stephanie had stood on her tiptoes, her lips just grazing against Michael’s. And… Nothing. No spark, no glint of even the slightest tinge of arousal. The worst part was, Michael had picked up on it almost immediately.
To be fair, they had been expecting it. Stephanie was a self-professed bisexual, but in the sense that she admired both men and women. She’d gotten it off to women plenty of times, but the thought of being aroused by a man had never crossed her mind before meeting Michael. That had been her first clue, but she had still wanted to give a serious relationship a try.
They had started off as casual friends, spending years as just that. But that wasn’t quite enough for Stephanie--she had wanted physical intimacy. And that had led to a moment Stephanie would never forget, the moment she had felt nothing from the touch of his lips on her own.
And even though he’d been expecting it too, Michael hadn’t been able to keep the disappointment from his face. It was only just for a second, but his tight-lipped look of heartbreak had cut straight to Stephanie’s core. So she’d started to do some research. After all, he had been a good friend, and had deserved more than that…
Stephanie had returned to her apartment, a small one-story flat, brewed up a cup of coffee, and then went to work. Well, that was the plan. But she’d gotten sidetracked by numerous other websites, and she had found herself watching through some of her old favorite TV series on Netflix.
At around midnight, she’d realized how late it was, at which point the brunette had returned to her kitchen to brew up a bigger pot of coffee. By some herculean effort, she had managed to shake off her procrastination. She had set off to work, lit by only the dim glow of her computer’s monitor.
At first, she’d found nothing of note, just a bunch of books and articles leading to gender reassignment clinics. But she kept at it all night, and found her efforts to be well-rewarded. On the eighteenth page of Google search results, Stephanie had hit the jackpot.
It was almost ludicrously simple: a magical spell to make a man into a woman. Worst come to worst, she’d feel silly for thinking it would work.
But if it did… Stephanie brought herself back to the present, looking over the spell for the hundredth time. She brushed some of her mahogany hair from her eyes, grinning at the words. She felt a little bit guilty about what she was doing… But Michael had said he’d change anything for her.
Stephanie knew that the surgery would be too much for even the two of them to afford--even if Michael would have been fine with swapping genders. She’d never really asked about that, either. He’d said he’d change anything, but men could be so delicate about their delicates…
Yes, Stephanie hadn’t asked. But with magic in the mix, she didn’t need to. This ‘spell’ was the perfect solution! If it worked.
That was the only possible problem with this plan—which wasn’t too much of a problem in itself. After all, if the worst thing to happen about some online spell is that it doesn’t work… Stephanie looked over the spell for the dozenth time.
It looked easy enough.
All she had to do was give him the tea she’d just brewed, and wait for the results. Making that little potion had been suspiciously simple, too. Apparently, nine-tenths of all magic was believing in it. And hell, had Stephanie ever believed in it.
The end result was a nice cup of ‘Transgender Tea’, as the spellbook read. One cup would be enough to make anyone from man to woman—or vice versa. The catch was that it took a few days to fully transform someone. At least, traditionally it did.
According to the spell, Stephanie could speed up the ensuing changes via an ‘incantation’—she’d chosen to just make a cheer as practice—but what was the fun in that? No, Stephanie would enjoy this coming period of change. Besides, she wanted to break Michael into his new body.
And speaking of, he was due any minute for another date.
A knock came from her door and she bounced up from her chair, hurriedly dashing to answer. Her eyes lit up as she opened the door, then dimmed as a postman arched his eyebrow.
She rushed to catch her breath, holding up a finger to postpone whatever he had to say.
“Um… You were expecting someone different, I presume?” He laughed, handing her a package. It was a watch she’d ordered for Michael after his changes.
Stephanie sighed with mild irritation, a patient smile on her face. “Yeah, sorry…” Well, that was less than exciting. On the other hand, she did put two-day shipping on that box so she really only had herself to blame.
“Have a good one!” The postman waved as he turned to head back to his truck.
“Oh! Thanks!” She waved to his back, pulling the door closed behind her. No sense in being discourteous just because she’d been disappointed.
“Hey, wait!” The door stopped prematurely with a soft thud as a foot slipped between it and the frame.
That was Michael’s voice! Stephanie turned with a huge smile. Sure enough, he was just behind the door, struggling with a box of his own. Although while hers could be tucked under one arm, his was absolutely massive. She could barely see Michael’s face behind it!
Stephanie’s eyebrows shot up to her forehead, and she hurriedly pushed her door the rest of the way open, using her free hand to help leverage the box indoors.
Much to her surprise, it was heavy. She’d expected some weight, but not nearly as much as it had held. The brunette huffed, very nearly off-set by what she’d just helped lift.
Luckily for Michael, Stephanie had some experience with lifting on the cheer squad. She straightened herself out reflexively, just like if she’d caught one of her plus-sized friends.
“Um…” Stephanie began, trailing off as Michael opened his mouth to speak.
“So before you go rethinking about being anything more than friends, I brought DVDs. We still need to do our movie marathon, right?” Michael said it in a rush, the words that he’d been practicing since this morning coming out in a mixed jumble.
He’d been nervous since the day before, when their date had ended in an awkward kiss that left her running back to her apartment and had him up all night worrying. It looked like he’d lost some sleep too: there were dark bags under his eyes and his own hair was in the awkward tangle of being unwashed.
Not that Stephanie looked any better. Her light brown hair was in a disarray, its curls currently bordering a frizz. But that said, at least she’d been able to change into a new outfit.
Michael was wearing the same clothes he had been last night, the set a little more than wrinkled. He noticed this himself with a nervous cough. “Movie marathon?” He repeated himself numbly.
The only response he’d failed to plan for was the soul-crushingly awkward silence she was giving him.
“Oh!” Stephanie blinked, realizing she’d been staring. “Of course!” She nodded eagerly, helping Michael set the box down on her coffee table. One of the perks of a first-floor apartment was that it made moving things like this easier. “But first… I have a new tea recipe I’d like you to try out!”
“New tea recipe?” Michael huffed, plopping himself down on her couch with a sigh. “Since when do you make tea?”
He looked back at her with a friendly smile, remembering when she’d last tried to cook. “Anything like that attempt at a cappuccino you brewed? I’m not sure I’m up for another stomach pumping.”
“Oh, hush. My grandma gave me a recipe.” Stephanie laughed as she lied. She walked into her kitchen, leaving Michael to catch his breath.
That was perfect: if he was tired he’d guzzle this down no matter what it tasted like! It smelled fine enough to Stephanie, but like hell she’d try drinking it. If the effects were real, she’d rather not change genders, too—the whole point of this was for some blessed girl on girl.
She popped out of the kitchen, sashaying her hips seductively. “Go on, don’t hurt my feelings!” She said, holding out the steaming cup for him to take.
Michael smiled appreciatively, combing his right hand through his hair as he took the warm cup in his left hand. “None for you?” He asked, taking a sip of the drink. His eyes widened, and before Stephanie could come up with another lie, Michael downed the entire drink.
With good cause, too! He couldn’t quite place the flavor, only that it was something completely surreal. Perhaps this was the mythical sixth taste people could perceive?
He placed the cup on her coffee table with a wide-eyed grin. “That was amazing! How in the hell did you get your hands on bubblegum flavoring?” It was the first description that had popped into his mind, and it actually fit. It tingled his tongue like the snapping of small bubbles; and it was sweet, to boot.
Stephanie blinked, a dawning smile on her face as she pondered his words. Bubblegum? Interesting… “Stick around and you’ll see.” Stephanie winked at him, settling onto the couch to cuddle.
Michael’s eyes somehow widened further. “Does… Does that mean?” His heart pounded as he realized she might have reconsidered rejecting him ‘for his own good’. He couldn’t stand when people did that.
“It does.” Stephanie winked at him; frowning as she caught a whiff of his unwashed body. While it certainly wasn’t anything too uncomfortable, it definitely didn’t bring any roses to mind either. “But first I say you need a shower.” She added with a small grin.
“Oh?” Michael lifted an arm, wrinkling his nose almost immediately. He was a good deal more critical than Stephanie was, likening his odor to something on a skunk’s magnitude. “Oh! Sorry!” His face colored with embarrassment. “I was hoping you wouldn’t notice that. “ He mentioned, his face colored.
“Yeah, which is like hoping for a firefighter not to notice their stove’s caught aflame.” Stephanie sniggered as Michael flushed noticeably.
“I mean, you didn’t have to put it quite that poorly. I’d have accepted ‘wet dog’, though.” Michael laughed, clamping his arms down at his sides.
Stephanie laughed, pushing him off of her couch. “Tell you what, stinky. Take a shower here, you can use some of my soap!”
Then smell absolutely divine, Stephanie added mentally. She had a huge selection of shampoos and conditioners, and she couldn’t wait to see which Michael chose.
“Really?” Michael blinked in surprise. “I don’t have a towel, you know…” He trailed off, privately hoping she’d either have one for him or would let him use her own.
“Use mine!” Stephanie winked at him unknowingly granting his wish. “You’re serious about this relationship thing, right?” She added the next bit hurriedly, her eyes widening as she realized what she might have just done. If he wasn’t totally head over heels for her, he’d hardly take well to being made into a woman.
Luckily, Michael had nothing but love for Stephanie, and he smiled like a kid in a candy shop. “As serious as I’ve been about anything! I’ll be out in a few.”
His heart raced as he made his way to her bathroom. She couldn’t be serious about that, could she? Sure enough, her bathroom only had a single towel in it, and Michael beamed with the realization he’d be using the same cloth she did.
It wasn’t a big step in a relationship, but it meant she was as comfortable with him as he was with her. Michael felt butterflies in his stomach, and he turned to Stephanie with a huge grin. He sent one last wave back to the living room before slipping into the bathroom.
Stephanie watched him go, her heart hammering in her chest. She had no idea about how much the prospect of making him into a woman would get her going. Now that it was really happening, she was definitely getting a little toasty thinking about it. Stephanie wriggled a bit on the sofa, trying to still the heat that was racing through her body. She only succeeded in making her heart pound more, and the girl found herself eagerly awaiting her friend’s return.
Thankfully, Michael came back in just under five minutes, toweling off his dark hair. She silently marveled at how quickly men were able to take showers; then she quietly wished that wouldn’t change about him after he transformed.
His hair looked positively glossier than ever, too! Stephanie was sure that had to do with the tea she’d given him. Could it already be working so quickly? There was no way her conditioners were that good!
Stephanie grinned as Michael plopped down next to her. The smell of sweet strawberries wafted in the air, and Stephanie cooed—that was her favorite! “How did you know I like that?” She asked, cuddling close to him.
“They’re your favorite fruit.” Michael replied simply, holding her in his arms. Then, his eyes widened. “Ooh, how about we watch Iron Man 2? On the note of strawberries I mean. Because of that one scene? I’m rambling.” He gave her a sheepish smile, his face coloring a little.
Stephanie beamed back at him. She loved how enthusiastic he was about comic book movies and hoped that didn’t change about him. That said, she could definitely stand for him being a little less scruffy… Stephanie looked closer at his cheeks, squeaking in surprise as she actually saw one of the hairs on his face pull back into its pore.
He turned to look at her, scratching the spot she’d been staring at. “Something wrong?” He didn’t see it happen, but it felt like something had brushed against his face.
“Only the fact that we haven’t started the movie yet.” Stephanie smiled back at him, covering her delight easily. “And the fact that you’re not spending the night tonight.” Was it wrong of her to ask him to stay over? Maybe. Did she care? No. It had been years since Stephanie cuddled with anyone in bed, and she was sorely in need of some hugging.
Hell, she’d probably invite him into the bed even if he wasn’t changing genders!
Michael’s response was a smile and the huge hug she’d been waiting for. Stephanie settled back into his arms with a contented sigh and a pleased grin. She felt him tense, and she looked up to him curiously.
“...I haven’t put the movie in.” Michael said sheepishly, squeezing her a little tighter.
“Mn.” Stephanie pouted, standing up so her friend could set up their first film. Her friend… It was odd, she’d never thought of him as anything more. But now that there was the prospect of being with him, everything was changing.
She couldn’t wait to be more than friends; was this how he’d felt the entire time they were together? Gods; she wasn’t even physically attracted to him yet and already she needed him. This spell might end up working better for him than it did for her!
Little did she know, Michael needed her, too. He’d loved her since he first met her; had fallen in love with her quirky sense of humor. This invitation was like a dream come true for him, and Michael never wanted it to end. This day absolutely couldn’t go wrong for him, he thought with a huge grin.
The day passed quickly, yet left them both with memories they’d never forget. They spent their entire marathon cuddled up together, occasionally shifting to put in a sequel or get a drink. By nine o’ clock, they were both tuckered out.
It was a lot earlier than usual for Michael, but he chalked that up to an all-nighter of thinking up ways to win over Stephanie. And while his mind was more than willing to savor another few hours with her, his body was weak. He let out a faint yawn, his cheeks coloring as Stephanie looked up to him and tapped his nose.
“Bed?” She asked, looking up at him and stroking one of his cheeks. She loved how warm he was against her hands. It was like he was her missing half… Even if the reality was perhaps closer to him being a missing puzzle piece she was forcing into her slot.
Michael smiled down to her, standing and stretching. Stephanie curled up a little, yawning herself. Michael laughed at how cute she looked, reaching out an arm to help her to her feet. “Bed.” He nodded, kicking off his shoes under her coffee table.
Stephanie giggled, leading Michael to her bedroom. Then she sprang the day’s biggest surprise on him. “No jeans.” She pointed to his legwear, and he blushed. She giggled at that: she’d been waiting to see him embarrassed, and his reaction didn’t disappoint.
“No jeans? But what about-” Michael trailed off as Stephanie’s hands cupped the bottom of her t-shirt.
“I’ll sleep shirtless if no jeans.” Stephanie said simply, yawning as she pulled her top off. She knew she should be more embarrassed, but she was damnably tired. Plus, Michael was the one she’d planned to live the rest of her life with; he’d need to get used to them at some point.
“I really think jeans are a good idea right now.” Michael swallowed, his hands covering his groin. It was like her lack of shame only made him more and more embarrassed.
“Don’t care about that.” Stephanie said honestly. And she didn’t… Though that was mostly from the knowledge his ‘nightly sceptre’ wouldn’t be an issue. She didn’t mind him getting an erection, but she also assumed it wouldn’t be too fun to wake up to something poking her down below.
But Stephanie could live with that for tonight. “You coming?” she asked, rolling into her bed. She smiled, closing her eyes as Michael’s jeans hit the floor.
“Let’s hope not.” Michael muttered to himself, slipping behind her to spoon her. Stephanie settled into him with a contented sigh, and Michael closed his eyes. Tonight was going to be the best sleep he had in his life.
Unfortunately, sleeping with Stephanie wasn’t as restful as Michael had anticipated. This was due in large part to him not getting much sleep. He was just too excited! This was wonderful, he could feel her soft body against his own, savor her contentedly settling back against him. He did manage to get to sleep at some point, even though that was after a matter of hours.
The next morning he woke up more than a little discombobulated, rolling out of bed and stretching. All of his clothes felt a little looser on him; probably because he’d been wearing them for the past few days.
Stephanie was still asleep in bed beside him, so Michael simply kissed her cheek and slipped out. When he was sure she was still asleep, he made his way to her shower, turning on the hot water with a relieved sigh. He really liked her strawberry kiwi shampoo and body wash; he’d definitely need to ask where she got it from.
He paused after shampooing his hair, seeing a matching pink bottle of conditioner. He’d never really seen the point of it before, but for some odd reason it was really appealing today. Probably because he knew Stephanie would like it, and he’d wanted to look his best. Still unaware of the changes to his body, Michael finished off his shower, sighing contentedly at the fruity scent.
He stepped out to towel himself off, then moved to the kitchen. He’d normally make a hearty bacon breakfast, but today he was feeling something lighter… Still, a strip or two never killed anyone.
He placed them on a skillet, then looked for something to add to the meal. He fond eggs and nodded to himself. A nice egg white omelet would really help make Stephanie’s morning as perfect as Michael’s night. Michael broke open a few eggs, removing the yolks and whipping the whites into a good and creamy froth.
He opened Stephanie’s spice drawer while the bacon cooked, pulling out some pepper and onion powder. Those got mixed into the eggs too, just for good measure. Michael hummed happily as he made Stephanie a delicious omelet, pulling out a plate and silverware after a few wrong guesses as to how she organized her drawers. Then he turned to find Stephanie looking at him with a sleepy smile.
“Oh!” His face colored as he held out her plate. “I wanted to make you breakfast in bed…”
Stephanie’s smile grew wider as she walked up to him, hugging him tightly. “You’re too sweet!” She cooed happily. “But I’d really rather eat it at the table, if that’s okay?” She’d just done her sheets and she wanted to keep
“As you wish!” Michael winked, sliding the plate onto the table. He knew she loved The Princess Bride as much as he did. “Anything else I can do for you?”
Stephanie looked up at Michael with interest, propping her hand on her chin. She smiled, popping some of her meal into her mouth and sighing contentedly. Michael really was a good cook; she might need to watch her weight after he changed… Stephanie’s smile grew a little wider as she looked up at Michael. “How about… You clear out the rest of your week?”
His reaction was better than she’d expected. Almost immediately, his face reddened as he stood up straight. Stephanie suspected that he had stiffened in more ways than one, and she giggled again, eating another bite of the omelet.
His hair looked a little longer today; she might need to do something about that in case he noticed. Though that didn’t seem to be a problem right now: it looked like she’d broken him a little. “You doing okay, Michael?”
He blinked as his brain restarted. Then he blinked again. “I. I mean. Um.” He started to nod eagerly, unable to put his happiness into words. His right hand brushed some of his longer hair out of his face and Stephanie tensed a little. Thankfully, he was too distracted to even notice. “I-I mean. Is that. I mean. Yes, but. Really?” Michael blinked as words spilled from his mouth. He hadn’t meant to be so inarticulate. Or had he? It was hard to tell; he had to be asleep and dreaming right now.
Susan outright laughed aloud as Michael pinched himself. He could be so transparent sometimes; that was absolutely adorable. “Come here.” She beckoned, pulling one of her chairs next to her.
Michael readily sat, willing to take a quick break to collect his thoughts. But it seemed that Stephanie had anything but in mind, her arms snaking around Michael’s neck as she pulled him into a long nuzzle. Michael’s heart raced to a staccato beat until it felt like it would burst from his chest.
This was really, really happening! The love of his life had finally returned his feelings; he wouldn’t need to be lonely again! How many people could be so blessed as to find their soulmate, their special love above loves?
Stephanie sighed contentedly, feeling his heart hammering beneath her body. “You smell nice.” She breathed happily, reveling in the scent of her own shampoo. She was really happy he chose those bottles. Even if they were a little more expensive than her other brands, a sweet-smelling lover was exceptionally nice to have.
She nuzzled him a bit more, loving how his heart hammered even stronger beneath her hands. And when Stephanie looked up to meet Michael’s eyes, she found them a shade of lighter brown than they were before. She giggled demurely, that potion she’d given him was definitely working.
“U-um. Can we stay like this for a bit?” Michael breathed, his eyes lightening a little more as he spoke. It was like his eyes were literally lighting up with the prospect of spending the morning with her.
Stephanie practically melted, pulling him into a tighter cuddle. “Only if we move this to my couch and put on some movies.”
Even though she’d said that, they still spent an hour in each other’s arms at the table, cuddling until they were both sore from their chairs.
Stephanie was the first to break their embrace, her butt aching from how much she was leaning on Michael. She stretched her arms and yawned, giving Michael a little peck on the cheek as she put her dirty dishes in her washer. To her surprise and delight, Michael helped her out by moving the pan and spatula he’d used for her. Better yet, he was humming contentedly, a song from that new Disney idol.
Stephanie joined in, singing quietly along to Michael’s humming. She’d never been the most confident about her singing voice; but she’d been told it was good before. To her immense relief, Michael smiled and began to sing as well. He was completely off-key, but it was the thought that counted.
Stephanie laughed, trailing her right hand along Michael’s arm. She really did like that about him. For a moment, she felt a pang of regret. A small distressed frown flitted across her face. Was it really right to change him like this? She wanted to love him, but did she really need to change his gender? Maybe it wasn’t a good idea; maybe she should have tried to change her own tastes…
“Something wrong?”
Michael’s voice snapped her out of her reverie. “No, nothing.” Stephanie smiled at him, her purpose reestablished. She’d tried that, but he wanted a physical relationship. And they’d already established she couldn’t handle that... This would really be best for both of them. Besides, he seemed to be enjoying it thus far.
“You sure?” Michael frowned a little, concern plain in his eyes. Which, on that note, seemed to have longer eyelashes…
Stephanie sighed, hugging him partly to ease his concerns and partly to confirm her suspicions. Sure enough, a closer look proved that they were just a little longer than they were before. She’d need to give him an Eskimo kiss at some point.
Collecting her thoughts, Stephanie hugged him a little tighter and nodded. “Mhmm. Tell you what? Go set up the DVD player and I'll do my best to finish up here.”
Michael returned the hug almost immediately, practically melting in her arms. "I was thinking we could start with something a little nicer this time? Maybe something like a Disney-Pixar marathon?"
"Let's call it a date." Stephanie tilted her head up to kiss him. Almost immediately, she noticed how fuller his lips were. Stephanie pulled in for another quick peck: something to keep her going.
She did the dishes in a blissful daze, dreaming about her life with Michael. Little did she know, he was thinking much the same, setting up their next movie with a dumbfounded smile on his features.
Both of them hurried through their work, embracing in the living room when they were done. Then, the two settled in on Stephanie’s couch and held each other close. Stephanie liked the feeling of Michael’s arms around her, and Michael loved how her heart raced whenever he brushed his hands along the backs of her arms.
He had no idea that her hammering heart was also from the secret she was keeping from him. His nails had grown a good deal longer, and Stephanie paid them almost as much attention as she did the movie. The subtle reminder of her work was more than gratifying, and she settled against her boyfriend, content with her life.
The first two movies seemed to pass by in a heartbeat, not that either of the two minded. The bliss they felt at being with one another was far better than any film could ever hope to be. But when the third movie came around, Stephanie began to notice that Michael felt a little… Different.
He was softer, almost cuddlier. His skin felt a little smoother, too. She looked down to his arm, her eyes widening for a fraction of a second before she reestablished her poker face. The hairs in his arm had pulled back into his skin, leaving him as smooth as if he’d been waxed.
"Something wrong?" Michael looked up at Stephanie with a small smile. "And before you ask, you've been trailing your fingers along my arm since we found out who the Big Bad really is."
Stephanie blinked, her heart pounding as she realized she'd been caught red-handed. "'Big Bad'?" She asked with a wry grin, hoping not to betray her nervousness.
"Yeah, you know. The bad guy of a movie, sometimes whose identity remains a secret for-" Michael paused, flinching with realization. “No no no, you’re not changing the subject that easily.” He smiled as he spoke, the gesture reaching his gently flushed cheeks.
“Was worth a try.” Stephanie smiled back, even though hers was a good deal more nervous. “I was… It’s just…”
“Just?” Michael pressed gently, running his fingers along her arm just like she’d done with him.
Stephanie sniggered. “I’m sorry, it’s just that you were using that soap I have, and… Your skin is so smooth now!” She’d seen enough TV to know that the best lies always held a bit of the truth.
Luckily for her, it worked almost perfectly. Almost.
“Oh?” Michael looked down to his arm, buying into her words. Unfortunately, his glance also helped him notice how hairless his arm was. “Hey… did you have something like Nair in your body wash? I’m not a hundred percent on this, but I’m pretty sure I used to have a hell of a lot more hair here than I do now.”
He looked up grinning impishly. “Is this about wanting a girlfriend more than a boyfriend?”
Stephanie yelped with nervous laughter. “Yep, that’s it. You caught me red-handed!” She giggled again, trying to the sound to ease her hammering heart.
“Well, if that’s the case…” Michael grinned at her, running an arm along her shoulder. “How about we go out shopping after this movie?”
Stephanie curled up against her significant other with a smile. “You’re just full of the best ideas today.”
“Only because I have the best girlfriend.” Michael replied with a smile.
Said ‘best girlfriend’ still kept running through moral quandaries. She wasn’t sure if it was the right thing to do, changing Michael like that. These doubts plagued her conscience, all the way to the department store.
Then Michael made a bee-line for the women’s clothing section.
“Oh my God, this shirt is adorable!” He squeaked, picking up a pink shirt with an anime kitten on it. He held it up to his chest, beaming even though it was a size too small.
Stephanie opened her mouth to tell him so; then she realized that it might be the transformation talking. What if Michael would drop a few inches and pounds during the changes? This could be the spell she’d cast working its magic, giving Stephanie a sneak peek…
“I think it looks adorable.” Stephanie grinned. It really was, too; she’d love to see it on him even as a guy.
Michael beamed, bouncing on his heels excitedly. “Oh, hey! And I think it might even be on sale!” He shook his hair out as he spoke, his shoulder-length locks falling into place.
Stephanie blinked in mild surprise. How long had he had that for? More to the point, since when was his hair such a light shade? It had been black for as long as she could remember, but now it was closer to dark grey.
“Sale?” She asked to cover for her surprise. She leaned in and saw that it was on clearance. “Oh hey, I can afford this for you.”
“Oh?” Michael held the shirt a little tighter with a small pout. “I’m not sure that I want to let you do that…”
“Let nothing.” Stephanie beamed, flexing her arms gently to remind him of how fit she was. “This cheerleader could take that shirt from you if she wanted.”
Michael whimpered, clutching the kitten’s face closer to his chest. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to fight her for it; the shirt was just too cute! He didn’t want to risk it tearing; that would be the saddest thing ever!
“But I don’t need to.” Stephanie giggled, patting him on his head. She giggled louder as he leaned into the pets, purring with joy. No doubt the shirt had given him the idea to do so.
Then he blinked. “Wait, what do you mean you don’t need to? I’m not letting you pay for this.”
Stephanie smiled. “I know for a fact that someone left their wallet back at my place.” She said in a sing-song voice. “Plus, I’ve got a membership here. And I know that you’d love to get a good discount on every product at this store.”
Michael frowned. “Well, when you put it like that, it makes it a little bit hard to argue.”
“Yeah it does.” Stephanie grinned.
“And while we’re not arguing…” Michael smiled to himself, a hitherto unknown devious streak rising to the surface. “I suppose these jeans look cute, too.”
He walked over to another clearance rack. It wouldn’t matter too much if Stephanie had spent a little money on him, would it? He’d do the same for her, after all. Besides, it was a little treat, and these were on sale.
“Check it out, ten bucks! I’ll pay you back for it, don’t worry!” Michael grinned up at Stephanie, his eyes already flitting to new sets of clothes. He had no idea why everything he picked was out of his size; only that it felt right. He could always lose a little weight. And maybe shrink. He’d iron out these minor details later.
Meanwhile, Stephanie was soon finding herself buried under a mountain of clothing. Even though the whole thing cost fifty bucks at the most, she was getting a little irritated that he was giving her everything to carry.
It was almost like they were a stereotypical sitcom family, and she was the man in the relationship! Which would make Michael the woman… Stephanie blinked in surprise, her cheeks coloring. This was the spell at work!
Suddenly she found Michael’s antics much less annoying and much more endearing, and she bounced her way to his side. She picked out a pair of short shorts, noticing an embroidered kitten that matched the one on the shirt he’d just picked out.
“Hey, Michael?” She held it up, laughing as he squealed aloud.
He cleared his throat a moment later. “I mean. That same sound, but in a much more masculine manner. Anyways, can you please get that for me? I’ll do anything!” He was practically drooling, glancing from the shorts to her back to the shorts again.
“Well…” Stephanie trailed off, knowing that any protest was doomed to die. “Sure, why not? I’ve been meaning to spend some money lately, anyways.”
“Really?” Michael grinned. Before either of them knew what he was doing, he embraced her tightly, kissing her cheek. “That’s wonderful, thank you so much!”
Stephanie’s face colored, and her heart started to hammer in her chest with the realization that she had no idea what to do in this situation. Obviously, the proper response would have been to hug him back, but he wasn’t her girlfriend yet, but he was her boyfriend, but she did like him, and… Her head started to hurt from thinking about it.
Luckily for her, Michael realized the oddity of what he’d just done as well, taking a few steps back and blushing immediately. “I-I mean.” He stammered. He had no idea what had come over him; it wasn’t a very masculine thing to squeal and hug her like that. Then again, it had felt so natural that he hadn’t paid it so much as a second thought at the time.
“Um… Don’t mind me.” He laughed nervously, running his hands through his hair. As he did, each strand lengthened, bringing the hairs down almost to his neck. Heedless of the wide-eyed stare Stephanie was giving him, Michael tucked some of his hair behind his ear absently.
“Wouldn’t dream of it.” Stephanie muttered numbly, trying and failing not to stare at Michael’s head as his hairs lightened, giving them a more silvery hue. Then Michael pressed his hand against her forehead and she flinched in surprise.
“W-What’s that for?” She stammered, swatting away one of his hands.
“You were staring, silly. Maybe we should get you home… After buying me my clothes, of course.” Michael grinned and winked, slipping his arm around Stephanie’s.
She smiled back at him, kissing his cheek. “I think I’d like that.”
Of course, their cashier gave Michael more than a few suspicious looks. The changes had left Michael looking distinctly masculine, but with enough of a feminine aura to merit a second glance. And a third and fourth, apparently. Thankfully, Stephanie was able to keep her boyfriend’s attention away from the mall employee for long enough to ring up their purchase successfully.
She led him back to her car, putting their bags in the trunk, then revving up the engine. As she did, the radio clicked on automatically, and a catchy pop tune started to play through her speakers.
“Ooh!” Michael beamed as he recognized it. “It’s that new Carly Rae Jepsen song!”
Before Stephanie could change the channel, Michael began to sing along to it, his eyes shut as he got into the music. All thoughts of moving to another station were lost as Stephanie noticed how Michael’s skin seemed to glow; his hair seemed to shimmer in the light.
But… More than that, it looked like his chest was starting to swell. While he’d never been as fit as she was, Michael had never had anything close to breasts. But now he was working on a set of A-cups, from the look of it.
The cheerleader gawked for so long that she almost burned a red light. Only Michael’s squeak of distress was enough to bring her back to the present, and she slammed her foot on the brakes hurriedly.
“Jesus, are you sure that I shouldn’t be driving?” Michael gasped, his chest hiking and unintentionally drawing more attention to his growing bust.
“Um…” Stephanie shook her head to keep herself from staring further. “Yeah, I’m sure. Sorry, I’m just a little out of it.”
“My singing tends to have that effect on people, yeah.” Michael grinned, going back to the song if only to keep himself from worrying for his life. Today he was really nailing all of the notes; it was a lot easier to sing in a similar tone to Carly.
This didn’t slip Stephanie’s attention, and she giggled softly, taking them the rest of the way back with a little more attention to the road. It paid off, and she didn’t come anywhere close to another accident, parking with a self-satisfied grin.
“What now?” Michael smiled, following her from her car into her house. He flipped some of his hair over his shoulder as he walked after her, not noticing how it had lengthened even further.
“How about we see another movie?” Stephanie asked a little nervously, ready to put the shopping trip behind them. She didn’t want to admit just how much his hug had made her heart flutter. Again, there was that damnable guilt nagging at her: was she really doing the right thing? Were these feelings for him just from the potion, or had she had them all along?
She brought herself to the present, following her question with: “Something I haven’t seen before.”
Of course, Michael had no idea that she was thinking of such things, so he immediately lit up, picking out a new Marvel movie. “I know just the one; it’s probably my favorite superhero movie, even counting The Avengers!”
“Really?” Stephanie blinked in surprise. “That sounds great. Does it have any romance?”
“Yep!” Michael said with a huge smile. “It’s science fiction, action, comedy, and romance…”
“Four things that every movie needs.” Stephanie finished for him with a grin. “I’ll microwave some popcorn while you put it in.” And, while she was at it, she might as well get comfy… She added the last bit mentally with a secret grin, eagerly anticipating Michael’s reaction.
“Fine by me.” Michael grinned, changing her TV to the proper channel and fiddling with her player. A few seconds later, he had the picture running, and he sat down on her couch, mouth watering at the scent of buttered popcorn wafting in from the kitchen.
“Oh my God, that smells divine.” He called, his eyes lighting up as Stephanie sashayed in, down to her underwear and a t-shirt. Michael stiffened in more ways than one, smiling nervously as Stephanie sat close to him. Thankfully, his erection was pretty easy to conceal today, and he was able to hide it as she snuggled against him. He’d just slip into the movie and use that to calm himself down.
Unfortunately, the film had the exact opposite effect on the changing man. A little into the second act, Michael chewed on another handful of popcorn, staring at the screen with wide eyes.
Had Chris Pratt always been such a good-looking guy? Michael knew that he’d lost weight, and he’d seen this movie in theaters, but… Maybe it was the Blu-Ray talking. Yeah, that had to be it.
Michael kept looking at the screen in rapt fascination. For the first time, Michael found himself a little envious of Zoe Saldana, how come she got all of Chris’s attention? Then he immediately found himself guilty of Chris Pratt, for very similar reasons.
He shifted in his seat gently, doing his best to hide an erection from the thought of being caught in a threesome with the both of them. That would be paradise. No, it would be beyond just simple ‘paradise’.
Quietly, he thanked God hat his hard member wasn’t showing through his jeans. It felt a little less erect than usual, but that was hardly an issue right now.
Stephanie looked over to Michael and chuckled quietly to herself. It looked like he was ogling both of the leads in this flick, and that was definitely a good sign. Well, mostly… She pursed her lips as Michael licked his own.
Maybe the mental shifts weren’t such a good idea. It was bad enough that she had to worry about her girlfriend eying other girls; but guys, too? That was a little bit much… On the bright side, Michael’s eyes might have flitted to the male lead, but they lingered on the leading lady. So there was hope for him yet.
In fact, there might be a little more than just ‘hope’… Stephanie smiled a little, looking up at her boyfriend. She thought she’d heard him rustling behind her, and sure enough he was fondling his new breasts absently, staring at Zoe Saldana even as his bust expanded further.
Stephanie let him play, one of her own hands slipping between her legs to pet at herself. It looked like the changes would happen faster than she’d ever dreamed, and to tell the truth, it was a little hot seeing Michael groping himself.
The movie’s end came sooner than either of them expected, and Stephanie chuckled, looking at her lover who was now more female than male. The two and a half hours had done a lot to change him—probably thanks to the ‘stimulation’ he was giving himself—and he now had a womanly body to match his chest and hair.
Stephanie couldn’t wait to cuddle against it, and she grinned to herself. “What say the two of us settle into bed for a nap?” She purred, running a hand along his new curves.
“Sounds good…” Michael started. “But first I think I’d like to head to the bathroom and freshen up for you.”
“Come back soon.” Stephanie laughed. “I’ll be waiting in the bedroom for you.”
She watched him go with interest, then tossed the last seeds of their popcorn in the garbage. She smiled, already anticipating how good it would feel for him to press his body against hers; to cuddle closely and lovingly.
Then Michael screamed from the bathroom. Stephanie jumped in surprise, her blood running cold. Had something happened? She had to make sure he was okay! She ran to the room, meeting him halfway.
“What’s wrong? Michael, I heard you… Screaming…” She trailed off, seeing the condition her friend was in.
