(Woman to Dog)
Alice sighed melodramatically as she searched eBay. The Xbox One looked so good, but the price was killing her. She looked around the room to find it empty, and sighed again.
“Did you just sigh twice?” Her brother, Luke, leaned in from the kitchen to give her a funny look.
“It’s nothing.” She said quickly. She already owed her brother more money than she’d like to admit, and didn’t want to loan more from him. Though he kept telling her it was okay, she still felt guilty about it. It’d be easier to deal with if she had a job, but somehow her art history degree didn’t lend itself to employment. Especially after that incident at the museum.
Alice returned her gaze to her online search. Someone was selling one for only fifteen—no wait, that was just the box. Jerks.
“That doesn’t look like nothing.” Luke’s voice came from beside her ear, and she jumped slightly with surprise.
She squealed at him. “What did I tell you about that?”
“Something about not doing it?” He grinned and patted her on the head.
She scowled at him, but he shrugged it off.
“Hey, I’m only here for another week before going to Rome for spring break. You’ve only got until then until you’re stuck alone with Mom.” Luke smiled. He had a semester to go until graduation, and until then was living at home. She had to give him credit, it was much cheaper to live off campus, plus dorms didn’t like pets.
As if it was reading her mind, his dog barked as it ran into the room, heading straight for Alice. Luke laughed as the dog licked her face, despite her attempts to keep him away.
“You know, Reginold’s gonna be lonely with me gone.” Luke walked over to his German Shepherd and pet its side.
“Wouldn’t that be a shame.” Alice drawled, but she scratched Reginold behind his ears nonetheless. The dog’s tongue lolled out of its mouth as the siblings spoiled him.
“And if you want some money for a new console, I hear dogsitting pays pretty well.” Luke looked up at her with a playful smile on his face.
Alice blinked in confusion. “Wait... You don’t mean that you’d pay me to keep him company?”
Luke nodded. “That’s exactly what I mean. It’d be a pain in the butt to find someone he likes as much as you, and besides, you need to pay me back somehow, right? Pretty sure the art museum won’t hire you again after what you did to that kid.”
“Ass.” She grumbled under her breath. That tween had been asking for a good smack upside the head; it wasn’t her fault his parents were pussies that never taught him manners.
Reginold cheered her up by nuzzling her cheek, and she gave him a soft smile, kissing him on his nose. “Well, Reginold’s much more of a gentleman than most men I know...”
Luke bit back a remark about her not knowing any other men, instead changing the subject slightly. “So, all you need to do is walk him three times a day and feed him twice. Do this and I’ll wipe your debt, and maybe even give you some money on the side.”
Alice looked up at him and smiled. That was a piece of cake! “Of course I’ll dogsit for you!”
Luke grinned. “Thatta girl! I’ll get all of the stuff you need, you just sit back and keep up that job search!” He winked at her as she stuck her tongue out at him.
Reginold saw an opportunity and quickly licked her tongue, and Luke’s laughter echoed through the house as Alice sputtered indignantly.
A week passed, Alice doing chores around the house to justify her living at home. Her mother didn’t mind the company, but anyone with eyes could see that Viola was getting tired of her daughter not looking for work.
Finally, the day of Luke’s departure came. Alice’s eyes were wide as she gazed upon the three massive boxes her set up for her and his dog. He caught sight of her expression and laughed. “You know I can’t help but spoil my puppy. Or my big sister.”
“I don’t see how this is spoiling me.” Alice muttered flatly.
“Well...” The sides of Luke’s mouth twitched upwards as he smiled. “You wanted a certain something so badly, and I felt it’d be a shame if stores sold out of them.”
Alice couldn’t help but perk up as she caught onto his meaning. “You didn’t...” She muttered, her eyes wide.
“So, I decided to give your pay in advance, and in a form that I think you’d enjoy a little more than just cash.” He opened up one of the boxes labeled ‘Toys 4 Reginold’ and pulled out a brand new Xbox One.
“Oh... my... God!” She squealed with joy and squeezed him in a tight hug. This was probably the best surprise he’d ever given her.
He laughed, pushing her away to gingerly put the console back in its case. “Plus, I decided to splurge a little bit and get some games.” He rubbed the back of his neck with embarrassment. “By which I mean all of the games.”
Alice was close to hyperventilating with excitement. She gratefully accepted the paper bag that Luke proffered, taking deep, calming breaths.
Luke laughed, pulling a copy of Titanfall from the box. “Hey, come on! I have some ulterior motives here; I want to play these too. That said, I don’t doubt that you’ll have any trouble beating most of these in two weeks.” He smiled, offering her the game.
She nodded eagerly, holding out her hands expectantly. At the last moment, he snatched it away, and poked her forehead.
“Even with the time you’ll be spending with Reginold.” He emphasized each word, as though talking to a second-grader.
Alice sighed, then nodded. “I get it, I get it.”
“Great!” Luke placed the box in her hand, and she drooled slightly at the sight of the mechanized suit on the cover. “I’ll be leaving now with mom, take Reggie on his first walk in the meantime, okay?” He looked outside to see Viola waiting in the car, a patient smile on her face. “Have fun.”
“Yep, will do!” Alice beamed, waving as Luke ran outside.
No sooner had the door closed, than she had unpacked the console and half of the games in a flash. Her eyes lit up as she caught site of the new Assassin’s Creed game, and in less than two minutes she had the game booted.
Reginold hopped on the couch next to Alice as she began her conquest of the seven seas.
“Do you wanna see me kill some Templars? Of course you do!” She chirped to her canine companion. His tail thumped against the cushion, and she smiled. “Good boy.”
Reginold then looked at the door and whimpered, his tail wagging even more.
“That’s okay, I want to see this guy dead, too.” Alice scratched him again, completely lost to the game.
The dog whimpered again, then set his head down on his forepaws glumly.
Viola pulled the car in a few hours later. It was hard to believe just how much her kids had grown up—even if Luke was growing faster than his older sister. Speaking of... She put the car in park, wondering if her daughter actually had taken the dog for a walk.
A few minutes later, she had her answer. No sooner had she opened the door, than a bored German Shepherd tackled her, licking her excitedly.
“Easy, easy Reginold!” She laughed, petting the dog. A quick glance up confirmed her suspicions: her daughter gave into the temptation of her new game. A little symbol flashed on the corner of the screen, and Viola realized the game was saving. She waited for it to go away, then flicked the TV’s power strip off.
“Mom!” Viola glared venomously. “Why the hell did you do that?”
“First: language. Second: isn’t there someone you forgot to take care of?” Viola looked down to the happily panting German Shepherd by her side. Reginold barked his assent, trotting up to Alice to lick her hand.
“Oh, whoops.” Alice muttered sheepishly, the fire from her eyes vanishing as quickly as it had appeared.
“’Whoops’, indeed.” Viola crossed her arms. “Also, I think you’ve had enough games for tonight. No more until tomorrow.”
Alice bit back a response that was sure to get her into trouble, instead leashing Reginold and heading outside.
“That’s a good girl! I’ll fill his bowl for you, okay?” Viola called to her daughter’s retreating back.
Alice muttered to herself as she walked her brother’s dog around the block. It wasn’t her fault that the game was so good! And besides, she was keeping Reginold great company!
MORE WORDS HERE
The next morning, Viola was surprised to see her daughter awake at the same time she was.
“Well, you’re up early!” Viola smiled at her daughter. The smile faded as she realized Alice was up to have another day glued to the television. “Honey?”
“Mhmm?” Alice mumbled through a mouthful of cereal, rushing her meal in order to get back to her Xbox.
Viola looked her daughter in the eyes. “Don’t forget to take care of Reginold, okay?”
“’Kay.” Alice swallowed her cereal and nodded at Viola obediently.
“Alice, I mean it. I want you to get him a bowl of food before I leave for work.” Viola picked up her coffee and headed upstairs to take a shower.
Alice finished her meal, dropped her dishes in the sink, and promptly started up Assassin’s Creed 4.
Her mother returned downstairs to find her daughter midway through a large naval battle, volleys of cannon fire decimating ships waving the Spanish flag. Despite Viola’s opinions about games, she had to admit this looked particularly impressive, like something straight out of Pirates of the Caribbean.
Still, impressive or not... The older woman glanced into the kitchen to find Reginold’s bowl was empty. That explained why the dog was sitting beside Alice and not chowing down on his morning meal.
“Alice, what happened to feeding Reginold?” Viola said.
The dog perked up at his name being mentioned, and Alice scratched him behind his ears.
“I’m sorry, I got distracted.” Alice said.
“Then why don’t you feed him now?”
“Because I need to get to a save point.” Alice said it matter-of-factly. “The next one should be in five minutes, I promise.”
Viola sighed, then nodded. “Dear, I’ll make you a deal. I’ll feed him right now if you walk him after you get to that ‘save point’. Okay?” She didn’t wait for her daughter to respond, grabbing a bag of kibble and pouring it into the bowl. She added some water as an afterthought, then blew her daughter a kiss on her way out the door.
“Thanks, mom!” Alice called, waving at her as she left.
Viola returned at 10 PM, exhausted after a long day at the gym. The managers asked her to work overtime, since some of the housekeepers weren’t available to close the locker rooms, and then they figured she should teach a few classes if she was going to be late. All in all, she’d give the day about a four. Out of a hundred. Thousand.
She slowly blinked as she realized her daughter was in much the same position she’d been all day. “Did... Did you not walk Reginold?”
Alice looked up. “Uhm.”
“Oh my God, honey! Get to it!” Viola pointed behind herself to the door.
“Mmm but save point.” Alice mumbled. She twiddled the control sticks, her character nimbly cutting his way through a wave of troops. Viola flinched as the pirate on-screen unleashed a particularly nasty strike, ending yet another Spaniard’s life.
“Honey, you said that this morning.” Viola sighed, already knowing her daughter’s response.
Alice lived up to expectations. “Could you get it for me just this once?”
Viola could have lip-synched the response had she the patience. Instead, she pinched her nose with her thumb and forefinger, counting to ten. Then, she went over to the boxes of toys, blinking with surprise as she found a business card lying on top of the leash.
‘Dear Sir or Madam,
Having trouble with an unruly child? Looking for a companion for your pets? Want to experience change like you’ve never dreamed of? Contact Crown Royale Transformation Services at 1-800-278-7267 (Or 1-800-CRTRANS), and we’ll send someone over as soon as we can!’
Viola read over the message twice to make sure she wasn’t hallucinating. “This is really, really weird.” She said to herself. She pocketed the card, making a mental note to throw it away after she walked Reginold. And changed her clothes, too.
She climbed the stairs tiredly, each footfall more of an effort than the last. Idly, she wondered where Reginold was. Then, she realized the dog gate she’d passed earlier was open.
Viola saw that the door to her room was slightly ajar, and she sucked in air through her teeth. “One one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand...” She muttered, bracing herself as she pushed the door open. What greeted her eyes was nothing but pure canine devastation.
The dog had somehow opened her underwear drawer and spread panties and bras across the room, in varying states of chew damage. One of the lamps was knocked down—though mercifully unbroken—and her favorite dress was in the corner, with a new golden stain across it. She sniffed the air with trepidation to find that her worst fears were true.
She considered yelling, but it wasn’t worth the effort. Instead, she closed her mouth, counted to ten; then pulled the business card from her pocket, memorizing the number. She’d make the call when she took Reginold out for a walk.
One change of clothes later, she was on the road, Reginold padding happily along her. She wanted to blame him, but knew that wasn’t entirely fair. Really, she just needed to walk off the stresses of her day, and to give that business a call.
The phone barely rang once before it was picked up. A rich male voice answered her. “Crown Royale Transformation Services, how may we be of assistance?”
“Um... Hi.” Viola said nervously. “I’m having trouble with my kids and need someone to keep my son’s dog company, and your business card mentioned you could help with that?”
The voice at the other end laughed. “Of course! Here at Crown Royale, we do our best to make sure that your every need is satisfied.”
Viola hesitated before pressing on. “About that... What is it, exactly, that you do?”
“Well, we magically transform people into animals!” Said the man on the other end.
She stopped walking, and Reginold whined as he strained against his leash. “I’m sorry... Did you just say you magically transform people into animals?” She repeated his words incredulously.
The man tried ally her doubts. “I get that you’re hesitant, miss. I realize that this sounds a little odd, but I can send over my personal assistant tomorrow to further iron out the details.” She had to admit, he sounded official enough.
“Mm-hmm.” She nodded hesitantly.
“I’ll just need a few details from you first, if that’s all right. My name is Mark, by the way, and I really do hope we can do business.”
“Business.” She mumbled, picking up the pace again so Reginold could work off some of his energy. “How, exactly, will changing my daughter into an animal help my problem?”
Mark laughed again, a deep, rich sound. “Well, you said you’re having troubles with your son’s dog. What if your—daughter, you said? What if your daughter became a dog, too? She’d probably be much more obedient; she’d be a friendly, casual companion; she’d even be able to give your other dog a playmate!” He was good; a natural salesman.
“That does sound nice.” Viola admitted. “But people don’t just turn into animals.”
“They do in my world.” She could practically see the smile in his voice. “I think my assistant will be far more convincing than a phone call. Just give me some details and I’ll whip up a spell, tailored just for you.”
Viola mulled over his words. “I’m Viola Williams. This all started a while ago, but it’s resurfaced recently when Alice—my daughter—got an Xbox One...”
The doorbell chimed twice at about noon on the next day. Viola passed her daughter on the way to the vestibule, finding the girl immersed in trying to collect some glowing in-game icon.
“Don’t strain yourself.” Viola smirked as she went into their greeting room. As an afterthought, she closed the door behind her. On the off-chance that Alice were to get up, it’d be best that she didn’t know what was coming.
“Who is it?” Viola called, hand on the doorknob.
“Crown Royale Transformation Services!” A perky female voice answered her. Viola smiled hesitantly. What if she just gave some wackjobs the address to her house? Transformation? Magic? Still, she’d made the call, and would now have to deal with whoever showed up.
Viola opened the door, her eyes widening at the sight before her. A white-haired girl with bunny ears greeted her startled gaze. The girl blinked once, then her mouth made a small ‘o’ with realization.
“I’m Mark’s assistant, Mira.” She bowed slightly. “He sends his apologies that he couldn’t make it, but he was up late preparing your spell, and wanted me to deliver it to you in person. We’re a new business, and we appreciate your understanding.”
Alice’s mother raised a hand to her face with surprise; then she smiled kindly. “I’m sorry for making a face, dear. Of course I’m okay with this, I just wasn’t expecting someone with such... additions?”
The girl, Mira, twitched one of her floppy ears slightly, and then returned the smile. “It’s honestly not that much to get used to, and we feel they accurately convey the point of our business, no?” She reached into her purse and popped a baby carrot into her mouth.
Viola laughed at that. “I’ll have to admit I had my reservations about ‘magic’, but seeing you definitely wiped them away.” She looked Mira up and down, noticing how her ears would occasionally flick towards sounds in the background. “Uhm... Do you want to take this upstairs?”
“Absolutely!” The rabbit girl nodded, her ears flopping vigorously.
The two took a different hallway to get to the bedroom, just in case Alice were to notice them. Not that that was necessary, the girl was too far gone into the game.
“So—” Mira plopped her cotton-tailed rear on the bed, going near-white with shock. “I’m sorry, do you mind if I sit here?”
Viola laughed, waving her hand. “It’s fine. You were saying?”
The girl sighed with relief. “So, Mark wrote up a little spell for you to use. Basically, you just need to read this quick contract aloud, and your daughter will start changing into a dog. It’ll be something really slow; she probably won’t notice too much unless she gets on your nerves. Then, if you want to speed things up, you can say any of the more powerful keywords below.”
“Oh—oh my!” Viola gasped as she looked at the list of magical triggers. “Do I really need to keep calling her a—a bitch?” She flushed slightly at her own usage of profanity.
Mira leaned over her shoulder. “Well, truth be told, those are probably the most potent triggers you could use, so you only really need to say them if your daughter leaves you with no other choice. Plus Mark’s a PS4 fan...” The rabbit-eared girl mumbled the last part under her breath, rolling her eyes. She pointed a little higher on the sheet. “The basic dog commands you see here should suffice for the most part. Plus, they’re easy to remember.”
Viola nodded her agreement. “Quite. So, what? I tell her to sit, stay, heel... And she turns into a dog?”
“Absolutely! Just say the magic words, and we’ll be good to go.” Mira smiled encouragingly.
“Right, and how do I go about paying you?”
Mira pursed her lips slightly. “I really don’t like this part, but you pay us whenever you want to. Ideally, you do it when the transformation is done, or when you think our services are complete, and we’ll send you an invoice. It’s usually a few hundred per transformation.”
Viola’s eyes widened. “You change people into animals... For a few hundred dollars? That’s barely anything!”
Mira shrugged. “Well, there’s something about doing what you love...”
The girl looked downcast, and Viola couldn’t help but try and cheer her up. “Do you accept tips?”
Ears perked up, Mira nodded eagerly. “Absolutely!”
“I’ll tell you what. If this works out as well as you say it will, then you can expect a rather generous one from me.” Viola shook hands with the girl, who was practically bouncing on the bed with excitement.
Mira smiled. “Then, I think our business is done here! Just call us once a week or so and let us know how she’s doing, if you want her changed back, and so on.”
Viola nodded. “All right, will do.”
“Okay, then I’ll be off!” The bunny girl hopped off of the bed onto the floor. She blinked with confusion and hopped up and down a few times experimentally. “Uhm...” She glanced up awkwardly, then fumbled around in her purse for a few seconds. Her ears kept getting in the way, and she brushed them back repeatedly.
“Is something wrong?” Viola tried to hide a smile at the girl’s erratic behavior.
Mira looked up and shook her head, her face a deep crimson with embarrassment. “N-no.” She squeaked, then continued to rummage through her purse. “A-ha! Found it.” She mumbled, pulling out a scrap of paper. She glanced at it, mumbling something to herself that sounded like ‘tibbarr elloh’. Then she looked up at Viola. “Um... Don’t tell Mark about this, please?”
Viola laughed out loud. “Of course.”
Mira nodded, still beet-red with embarrassment. “Well, now I’ll be off!” She hopped up and down again, and this time she passed through the floor, vanishing without a trace.
Viola gasped, running over to where Mira was, patting the floor. “How did she—magic. Right.” She rolled her eyes, then glanced over the list of magical triggers again.
“I, Viola Williams, hereby accept this contract with Crown Royale, and will transform my disobedient daughter into a German Shepherd.”
She felt a tingling of power run through her and grinned from ear to ear. It was time to go downstairs and give her daughter a piece of her mind.
“Alice, honey?” Viola called down the stairs.
“Yeah?” Alice paused her game. She knew that tone—it was the tone her mother used when she wanted to have one of her talks.
“I think it’s time we have a conversation about the way you’re leading your life.” Viola walked down to their living room, her feet thumping gently on their carpeted floor.
Alice let out an exasperated sigh. “Mom, I don’t want to do this right now. Or ever, in fact.” She added the last bit as an afterthought; though she felt it didn’t need to be said aloud.
Viola frowned, looking at her daughter sternly. “Well, that’s too bad, because you’re going to listen, and listen well.”
Alice’s ears twitched as they drew to points. She frowned, remaining silent. Her ears, on the other hand, were slowly sliding to the top of her head. Even if they weren’t quite where a dog’s would be, anyone could tell they were perked up, ready for conflict.
Viola had to bite back a smile as one of her daughter’s now-canine ears twitched, waiting for her to continue. She started with the obvious. “You haven’t been taking care of Reginold.”
“Is that what this is about?” Alice growled with irritation.
“This is about so much more than that, but this is a start.” Viola said.
“Oh? Like what?”
Viola retorted. “I don’t know, about you losing your last job? About how you’re not finding another one, and you called a five-minute search online a ‘job hunt’? About how we gave you one simple job to do while Luke was away, and you couldn’t even do that?” Her voice had risen by the end of her tirade, and she had to take a few deep, calming breaths.
Her words had a similar effect on her daughter. With each sentence, Alice’s face grew redder and redder, and she balled her hands into fists. Her legs popped as she flexed them, her ankles elongating, giving her a second joint below her thighs.
Viola continued her tirade, lowering her voice. “You’re lazy, selfish, and you can’t even take care of a dog, let alone yourself.”
Somehow, the fact that her mother wasn’t shouting only made the words sting more. Alice stood up sharply, her controller falling to the floor. “Shut up!” She wobbled slightly, but passed it off as her legs having fallen asleep, or her anger at the situation. “Shut up, shut up, shut up!”
“Sit!” Viola shouted back.
Alice sat on her haunches obediently. Then, she blinked. That wasn’t right. What was going on?
“Speak!” Her mother chirped, a grin spreading across her features. These keywords were something else!
Alice responded with gusto. “What the fuck is—”
“Hush!”
Alice’s jaw snapped shut, and her eyes widened with fear as she found herself unable to make any sounds.
“Speak like the bitch you are!” A hint of red crept over Viola’s cheeks. She’d rather not the trigger be so rude, but she had to admit, there was something liberating about calling her daughter a bitch.
The girl in question blinked in confusion, then her pupils dilated as the words sunk in. “Arf!” Alice tilted her head upwards as she yipped excitedly. She blinked and shook her head with confusion. “Arf? Rrruff ruff ruff!” She tried to talk but found herself unable to make more than barks and growls. She looked up to her mother fearfully.
“Good girl!” Viola scratched her daughter behind her ears, and Alice leaned closer to her fingers, each brush sending waves of pleasure through her body. For a fleeting moment, she forgot about whatever magic was affecting her, instead thinking on how pleasurable her mother’s fingers felt. Except it wasn’t just her fingers, she felt as though she had more skin for her mother’s fingers to reach. With a start, she realized she had dog ears—no, more than that! They sat atop her head, black on the outside and brown on their sensitive insides.
She shook her head and looked down. Her legs were distinctly canine in appearance, and did she have paws? She looked at her feet and noticed her toes seemed swollen, her feet slightly shorter somehow. She whined in confusion, and looked up to her mother.
“Oh, come on. Don’t give me those puppy eyes now.”
Alice’s eyes burned, and she closed them, rubbing at them with her hands. When she opened them, she realized her vision had gotten markedly worse, and everything’s color was off. Had she been able to look into a mirror, she would have found her viridian eyes had shifted to a rich brown, the pupils dilating permanently.
“There we go, now you’re getting it. Paw.” Her mother held out a hand.
Her expectant smile seemed at odds with the situation, but Alice wanted to obey her. No, she had to fight! This resistance was fleeting, as her body promptly betrayed her, obediently placing a hand in her mother’s open palm. Alice could feel her own palm swelling up, becoming the leathery pads of a dog. Her thumbs slid painlessly back towards her wrists, and her fingers shrank back into her palm. Alice’s manicured nails grew rough and long, and she whined as she was left with the paw of a dog.
“Other paw?”
Alice closed her eyes, whimpering as she felt the changes overtake her other hand. Expecting the sensations didn’t change how uncomfortable they felt.
“Good girl!” Viola beamed, then twirled her finger. “Roll over!”
Alice barked a denial, baring her teeth instinctively. She growled at her mother menacingly.
“Well, that won’t do...” Her mother looked down at the list of magical keywords. “There we go... Act like a good bitch!”
Viola’s eyes widened as she felt her head tingle. It felt like advanced thoughts were harder to come by now, like her brain was becoming dumber, more simple-like. She barked in confusion, then she barked again with happiness as her mother scratched her behind her ears. Alice’s leg beat against the floor, and she nuzzled her head against her mother’s talented fingers.
“Now, roll over.” Her mother said it sternly, looking the dog-girl in her slightly glazed eyes.
Alice nodded eagerly, then started to do small log rolls on her back across the carpet. She felt the room getting unbearably hot, and looked down to find tan fur poking its way through her skin, covering her from head to toe in a short coat of hair. She whined as she realized the heat wasn’t going away; she wasn’t sweating!
Subconsciously, her tongue lolled out of her mouth, and she gasped as a cool sensation ran its way across her body. She lay on her back, closing her eyes as she continued to pant. She wanted to feel more cool air on her tongue, more happy coolness!
As if responding to her thoughts, her tongue flattened out, stretching until it flopped across her furry cheek, nearly onto the carpet. Her eyes rolled back in her head as she found herself breathing deeper and deeper. It felt so good, like there was her own personal fan in her mouth.
Viola laughed at the sight of her daughter drooling dumbly on her back, her arms and legs held up like a dog’s would be. She considered taking a picture, but decided she didn’t want to be that mean. Instead, she rubbed her daughters belly, laughing further as the changing girl barked happily, her tongue flicking up to lick her mother’s hand.
Viola smiled. “Looks like someone’s a good girl now, right?”
Her daughter barked, rolling onto all fours. She nodded her head, her tongue flopping up and down. Alice blinked, then used the longer appendage to lick her own nose. She yipped with excitement as she realized the new full range of motion her tongue had.
Viola chuckled and walked over to the box of Reginold’s snacks. He definitely wouldn’t mind losing a treat if it meant gaining a playmate. “Does this good girl want a treat?”
Treat? Alice’s eyes widened. A treat? Where? She yipped again, practically bouncing on her paws with excitement.
Viola held out a milk bone, and Alice panted dumbly at the sight, drooling madly. Her mother set it on her nose, and it slid off. Alice bent down to eat it.
“No!”
Alice froze as her mother shouted. Alice’s ears flattened against the side of her head. Did she do something bad? All she wanted was a treat. She looked up with confusion. The treat was right there! It was just asking for her to eat it! She started to whine plaintively, her tongue hanging against her chin.
“You may have it only if you keep it balanced until I say that’s enough.” Viola placed the treat on her nose again.
Alice remained perfectly still her eyes crossed, focusing on the treat. In her peripheral vision, she could see her nose darken slightly. She blinked with confusion, then noticed she could see more of it. Was her nose growing? She watched the changes continue and realized it wasn’t her nose, but her entire jaw. She could now see more of the fur on her muzzle, finding it a rich black compared to the tan of most of her body. This confirmed her suspicion: she was becoming a German Shepherd, just like Reginold.
The bottom of her lip slid past her tongue, then her teeth. She realized she was able to fit the long appendage in her mouth now and fought back a happy yip. She could feel her nose pushing back into her new muzzle, and she twitched her nostrils as a cold, wet feeling came over it. She carefully licked it, then realized she could smell her tongue, her saliva, even a little of her lunch.
Alice took another deep breath and barked with astonishment. The treat fell off her muzzle, but she didn’t care. There were so many scents she never knew existed! She could smell everything she used to, but so much more! The carpet now had hints of the fibers it was made of, the dirt outside, Reginold’s fur. She could now smell her mother’s shampoo, soap, even her laundry detergent! She continued sniffing at the air, panting wildly as she accustomed herself to a world she never knew existed. Then, she pressed her nose into the carpet, drinking in its rich flavors.
Viola sighed, and Alice looked at the woman expectantly, her ears pert and expectant.
“Close enough. Go ahead.” Viola said.
Alice needed no further encouragement, chomping on the treat hungrily. As she chewed it, she could feel her teeth lengthening, and her taste buds changed to better accommodate the flavor of meat. Her saliva felt a little thicker as she continued to chew the treat, and she swallowed the contents of her mouth.
She could feel her throat changing, then her stomach as the snack made its way down to her gut. She whimpered slightly, patting her gut with a paw experimentally. It felt like all of her insides were reshaping now, fitting themselves for her new form. Alice wheezed slightly as her ribs cracked, and her lungs shifted to better suit her new form.
Viola looked at her half-dog daughter, thinking something was a bit off. She snapped her fingers as she realized that her daughter still had her shorts and t-shirt on. “Silly girl, dogs don’t wear clothes!” Viola chuckled.
Alice barked in agreement, sitting on her haunches expectantly.
“You’ve almost got it. Up, girl, up!” Viola flicked her finger upwards.
Alice obediently balanced on her hind-legs, her arms wobbling slightly to steady herself. She licked her mother’s arm as Viola slipped off her shirt, exposing her furry body to the air.
Alice folded the shirt, taking a step back to look at Alice. The girl looked smaller without it, though that might be a trick of the light. No, Viola realized, her daughter was shrinking slightly, her shorts and panties sliding down thinning hips, her bra hanging loose on her form.
“Good girl! Walk over to mommy, okay?” Viola patted her thighs encouragingly.
Alice barked, eager to please. She took a few wobbling steps forward, stepping out of her shorts. Her hips clicked, and she found herself needing to concentrate more on staying upright. Then, her left paw got caught on her panties, and she fell forward, her arms and breasts soaking up most of the impact. She looked up to her mother and whined guiltily.
“That’s okay, girl. Let me help you with that.” Viola knelt down and slipped off her daughter’s underwear. The second cool air touched Alice’s sex, she felt it pucker, sliding up closer to her anus. She whimpered as it quivered slightly, its dark surface moistening slightly as she realized the purpose of its new position. As an afterthought, Viola unclasped the girl’s bra, too—if only to distract her from the changes to her daughter’s nether regions.
Alice yipped her thanks, nuzzling her mother’s hands as Viola scratched her canine cheeks.
“Now, beg!” Viola held up a treat, and Alice’s eyes lit up.
The dog girl sat on her haunches, holding her cupped forepaws out for the treat. She whimpered slightly as her shoulders and elbows snapped, bringing her paws apart. Her wrists snapped, forcing her palms downward and she realized her arms had fully become that of a German Shepherd. Alice didn’t mind that too much, since it meant she’d be getting a treat soon. She panted happily at the thought, small flecks of drool dripping onto her still-human breasts.
Viola tossed Alice the treat, and her daughter promptly started munching on the snack happily, whining every now and then as her chest got in the way of licking up crumbs. “Good girl!” Viola bit back laughter at the sight of the dog with human breasts, and resolved to fix that. “Does Alice want a belly rub?”
Alice didn’t need to be asked twice; she rolled on her back, her limbs dangling above her as she panted expectantly. Viola set to work, massaging the girl’s ample bosom. Alice whimpered as she felt her breasts disappear back into her body. Viola scratched her belly, too, and Alice could feel six more nipples blossom below her vanishing breasts. No, not nipples—teats. She barked happily at the thought of nursing puppies, glad that she’d still be able to without breasts.
Viola realized that her daughter was almost a complete dog, save for one detail. “Chase your tail, dear!” She chirped.
Alice tilted her head slightly, whining in confusion. Then her peripheral vision caught sight of a small, black-furred object by her hindquarters. What was that? She had to get it! She yipped eagerly, turning to face it. Much to her chagrin, it turned with her, and she found herself spinning in small circles, barking eagerly. As she continued to turn, her tail continued to grow, until it was half the length of her body.
Another dog answered her calls, and Alice’s ears flicked upright. She barked again and panted excitedly as the dog responded again. Was that Reginold? Did he always sound so sexy?
Viola sighed slightly. “Well, looks like we finally woke Reginold up.” She tossed her daughter another milk bone. The new dog munched happily on the treat as Viola went to the box of leashes. Viola blinked with confusion as she noticed there was a new leash in the box, accompanied by a maroon leather collar. There was a note attached to it, and Viola smiled as she read it to herself.
‘Dear Viola,
We here at Crown Royale would like to thank you for hiring us, and have included a complimentary gift that we hope will help you out with your new pet.
Only the best,
Mark and Mira’
There was a little metal paw under the collar, emblazoned with the name ‘Alice’. Viola walked over to her daughter and fastened it around her neck, marveling at how it was a perfect fit.
Alice shook her head, her ears flopping slightly as she accustomed herself to her new collar. She barked as Reginold rounded the corner, no doubt rushing to see his new playmate.
The male dog barked with confusion as he tried to process how this new bitch had the same scent of one of his owners, albeit with a more canine tint to it.
Alice yipped eagerly, padding over to Reginold and licking his nose. The larger dog blinked in surprise, then licked her back. He angled his head to the door, and Alice barked her assent, looking to her mother. Wasn’t it time for their walk?
Viola rolled her eyes. “Maybe I should’ve realized that this means one more dog to walk. Well, can’t be helped, I suppose.” She leashed the pair of German Shepherds, opening the door.
Alice hesitated at the doorway, unsure if she should go out without clothing. She had fur, but little else in the way of covering herself. Except for her collar... She resolved that that would have to be enough. Though just to be safe, she’d have Reginold go first. Plus it let her look more at his balls—what was she thinking? He was her brother’s dog! It just happened that he had nice balls, and who would she be to deny herself such a view?
She walked after him happily, every now and then getting a good look at his sheath.
Viola noticed her daughter’s looks, chuckling to herself. “You know, that cock would be a pretty nice fit.” She noticed her daughter’s pussy quiver, and she smiled. “I think you’ll enjoy being Reginold’s girlfriend for the next few weeks. You might end up more than that, too. Have some candlelit alone time, make a few puppies... Motherhood changes people, you know.”
Alice flattened her ears guiltily, whining a protest.
“No, no, I know. You’d rather be friends.” Viola scratched her daughter behind her ears. “Just like I’d ‘rather be friends’ with Ryan Gosling.”
A blush crept up beneath Alice’s fur as she caught on to her mother’s meaning.
Viola grinned as she continued to tease her daughter. “Mmm, I’d love for him to take me around the block! That big, strong body, his whiskers against my face... let me tell you, that’s a fine piece of tail.” She grinned with mirth; she didn’t know dogs could look so uncomfortable. “I wouldn’t mind having his kids; let me tell you that.”
Alice’s blush increased, though time it stemmed from a heat between her legs. She endured her mother’s ribbing, keeping her attention focused on Reginold. With a little effort, she could think about him in a less sexual way, instead thinking about what they were going to do after the walk.
Before she knew it, they were back outside their house.
Viola led the pair of them to the backyard, locking the gate behind her. She undid the dogs’ leashes, letting them run free in the yard while she went inside. She walked out with a box of toys, and the pair’s eyes brightened visible at the sight of the myriad of brightly colored playthings.
“Now Alice, I can trust you to keep Reginold from misbehaving, right?” Viola looked her daughter in the eyes.
Alice barked, nodding vigorously.
“All right, then have fun! Try to keep your paws off of him!” Viola grinned, then she went back inside to take a well-earned nap. Two weeks without putting up with her kids, and Alice was guaranteed to keep Reginold busy... She could live with that.
Outdoors, Alice barked happily, eager to play around with her new friend. She danced around him nimbly, loving the way the grass felt on her paw pads. She yipped excitedly, turning to Reginold. Outside was much better than inside! There were so many things to do, what did he want to do first?
Reginold sniffed at the air, then barked excitedly, his tail wagging.
Alice barked back at him, tilting her head to one side. She flicked an ear as she looked at him, then her nose picked up his scent.
He wanted to play Tug-of-War!
She yipped eagerly, bounding her way to the overturned box of toys. A moment later, she held in her teeth a long rope, knotted at various intervals along its length. She clenched her jaw on it tighter, a muffled bark emerging from her throat.
Without further ado, he chomped on the other end, and they played for several long, hard, sweaty minutes, until Reginold was satisfied with conquering her yet again, pulling Alice towards him with ease. The larger canine had much more experience with his body, after all.
Reginold laid down, and she whimpered as she was forced down beside him, his knot pulling her with him. He cuddled up to her, licking her apologetically, and she licked his nose back. It was fine, after all, he was her protector; her playmate. Even if she was supposed to be dogsitting him...
Inside the house Viola stood ramrod straight, her face pale with shock. The dogs outside had woken her up, and she looked out to find that she really shouldn’t have looked out. She wanted to shout at them to stop, but knowing them that wouldn’t have done anything. Plus, she swore to herself she’d never be the kind of mother to ruin her kids’ games.
Viola fell back on her bed, running a hand through her hair. She didn’t know if Reginold had been neutered, or if the magic she cast on Alice had her spayed. Either way, she should probably gear up for puppies if the two kept getting along so well. For now, though... She bit her lip, then jogged downstairs to play that pirate game. She could use a distraction.
