Show off
Lilly knew what she had to do. She needs to strut her stuff, and make everyone she knew jealous.
She texted her friends Kendra and Marie to meet her at their favorite cafe. She was so excited. She grabbed her wallet and keys and headed out.
Out of curiosity, she checked her ID. It showed her new appearance. Luckily it still had her age. She was a bit worried about people mistaking her for a teenager. She did look like she was just barely 13 years old.
She got to the cafe and found her friends sitting in one of the outdoor tables, waiting. She walked up behind them.
"Well what do you think about my new look?" She asked, surprising them.
Kendra is Lilly's best friend. She's always been a bit of a tomboy, and even went through a punk, emo, phase in highschool. Marie has always been more into fashion then the other too but it was a more mature gothic fashion. That said, Lilly was still sure they'll be super jelly of her new beauty.
They looked over at her and smiled. Kendra was the first to say something. "You look like you're ready to go back to school."
The two laughed, then Marie said "I hope you found a cute princess backpack. Your teachers will find you just precious."
The two joked as they always had about their friends childish appearance. They really found her to be cute, and it seemed like she never ages, however her almost snobby attitude, and constant bragging, got annoying at times. Ripping on her tends to be the only way to get her to shut up.
For Lilly however, this was the first time she had ever been put down by her friends like that. It jabbed her right in the heart and made her tear up.
Her friends saw her begin to cry. They didn't think they where being that hard on her this time. Immediately, they began frantically apologizing.
"Sorry, sorry, you look really cute today. Did you change up your hair?" Kendra guessed. She knows complementing her will just make her talk for hours, but it's better than her crying.
After, they calmed her down, Lilly began going on and on about the new thrift store she found. Her friends were just happy, she wasn't talking about new beauty guru's she found on YouTube.
Lilly's life went on relatively normal going forward. She had found a new perspective on beauty and fashion, and she looked like a teenager for most of her life. It only got annoying for her when people wouldn't believe her ID was real.
The end.
