The Vanity Table

As Lilly thought it over, the vanity table seemed to be the best place for her new fairy friend. She placed it down in the right corner, after pushing some other stuff aside.

Lilly never got too into makeup or beauty products. A little bit when she was younger sure, but as she got older she saw less reason to worry about appearances. The only reason she has this table is because it was a gift from her grandmother, when she became 16. It was a nice table though.

She got a glimpse of her face in the mirror. Her shoulder length brunette hair, blue eyes, she had a youthful yet mature look. Something didn't seem right. She's always looked like this, but now, she just feels ugly.

Had she always looked so downright hideous. Like some gross, old troll, who belongs under a bridge.

She turned to compare with the fairy. Young, beautiful, elegant. Brushing her hair, red like fallen leaves in autumn. Her eyes, a vibrant forest green. She looked no older than 15 at most. She was the picture of pure beauty.

Lilly needed to be this pretty. She sat down and grabbed the brush. She gently began brushing her hair thoroughly, until the nasty brown color was replaced with red, matching her idol.

Next was the makeup. Using the statue as a reference she carefully did everything she could till her face was an exact replica, down to the last freckle.

She didn't know she was so good with makeup, she could definitely pass for a 14 year old, and it all looked real. It was real she looked closer, there wasn't a drop of paint on her face.  Even her eyes had changed color.

She almost teared up. This was too good to be true, she had become truly beautiful.

She stood up and found she was even a bit smaller. She lost about five inches in hight. She had to show this off. Her friends will be so jelly when they see her flaunt her newfound beauty.

Or is this enough. She looks like an exact replica of the fairy, as a human, but couldn't she look even more like her? Couldn't she BE her?
