A young woman sat in her living room. She sat in darkness, the only light was the laptop she was typing on. Hannah Scott was her name, and she had a passion. Dolls. Dolls we're everything to her. All throughout her house dolls sat and smiled innocently. Plush, porcelain, plastic, all were welcome in her home, even the paintings on the walls were of dolls.

Most thought she had a slightly obsessed passion from her childhood, but they didn't know the half of it. Her love for dolls was more than nastolgia. Her love stems from a very important doll.

A glass doll who sat in Hannah's bed. Her name was Penny. They met one fateful day at a thrift store, Hannah's mom brought her to when she was six. The little girl saw the beautiful doll regally sitting on a shelf. It was love at first sight. Hannah just about begged her mother for it until she saw the price tag "free" her heart filled with pure joy.

Penny, to most, was just a doll. Blonde hair in two braids tied with pink ribbons. A light pink, extravagant, princess dress, with matching shoes. Just a normal porcelain doll. The only thing that stood out was her face. Hannah's friends and family often pointed out how creepy it's very realistic face was. This didn't matter to Hannah, she loved the doll more than anything.

One night when Hannah slept with Penny, her entire life changed. At first she thought she was dreaming. She had become a doll, laying down in a dark room being held close by a sleeping little girl.

She couldn't move, she didn't want to. She was happy to be loved. She layed there the whole night until sunrise. Sunlight peeked in through the window. Her mother knocked on her bedroom door and came in "Penny time to get up sweetie, get dressed for school."

The sleeping girl woke up "Okay mom." She groaned. Her mother left the room and the girl got out of bed and turned to face the doll. "Morning Hannah"

Penny picked Hannah off the bed. She was real, and now Hannah was the doll. She wasn't scared, the only emotions she felt were happiness and love. Penny hugged her and her mind melted with elation.

"You have shown me true love and care. Now it's my turn. From now on you are my doll, and I'll love you forever." Penny whispered in Hannah's glass ear. "Be a good girl while I'm at school, okay."

She sat the doll on the bed and swept her brunette hair from her glass eyes. Before getting dressed and leaving the room.

Hannah remained a doll for six months before she became a human again. Just as promised, Penny had given her nothing but love and care.

She didn't understand why Penny forced her back to her old life. Was she not good enough a doll? Hannah had grown depressed. She was so happy, why'd it have to end.

She kept asking the doll for answers, but now words left those porcelain lips. She tried to forget it, but she couldn't. Nothing felt as wonderful, as being a doll. Eventually she begged Penny to be a doll again.

Finally it happened. She was staring up at the ceiling. She knew she was a doll again, but something was different. She didn't know why, but she knew she wasn't the doll she was before.

She felt a hand gently lift her up from the table. A familiar blonde girl stared at the doll. "Hannah? What happened?" The girl holding her wasn't Penny, it was Barbie. "Why are you me?"

Both were confused. Finally Penny spoke. "I can't be human right now, my doll. I'm sorry. I understand, and I'm sorry for making you suffer through humanity, but unfortunately you can't be a doll just yet. I can only give you this gift for short intervals."

Barbie stood confused, she had never been human before. Now she was a six year old girl holding the girl who use to play with her. This was very strange.

A knock on the door stole her attention. "Barbie, it's almost time for bed. Put your toys away and get in your pajamas." Hannah's mom called through the door.

"Okay!" She called back. She picked up some of the other dolls off the floor and put them in the toy box. Hannah ended up buried under her other dolls. The same feelings of happiness and love filled her plastic being.

Throughout her childhood she spent more time as different dolls then she had as a human. She collected more dolls, so she could experience every kind.

She now sat in her living room buying the last few dolls she'll ever own on her computer. Penny has told her that in a few weeks, finally they can swap for good. Hannah will finally get to be Penny's doll forever.
