You've never seen a woman quite like the one behind the desk in the small office. Beautiful to a fault, her pointed ears revealed themselves despite her long red hair. It took a moment for her to look up at you, finishing with a few notes.
"Are you my one o'clock?" She asked. "I'm Ms. Harrow."
You shake hands, and she offers a seat across from her. The office is small, cramped. You wonder where, exactly, you would be working. The brochure claimed a full fairy tale land. But, thinking about it, where would such a place even exist? So you ask her.
"Oh, we have our ways," came her cryptic reply. "I see you've done your pre-screenings and aptitude test, excellent. That saves us so much time. Before we begin, do you have any questions? Most people do; it's an odd sort of arrangement we have."
She waited patiently for your question, nodding along, knowingly.
"Ah, yes. You will be able to continue to live your normal life. In fact, we pride ourselves on our work/life balance. The fairy tale land exists in a kind of offset state thanks to our Honored Guests. So you'll be able to come home after a day of fighting dragons, cursing princesses, or whatever it is you wind up doing, and have a full sixteen hours to do with as you please."
You think you understand.
"Do you have any ideas as to what sort of character you might want to be? Now, I do have to advise you, main characters are harder to come by, and much more work. Trust me, for a new hire, you don't want the stress of a main character."
You tell her your idea, and she quirks her mouth in a smile.
"You know, I think we can do that."
She slides over a stack of papers, ready for you to sign.
Will you do it? Will you become a fairy tale character, Ever After?
