“How…how can you say that? I just told you I was a person turned into a doll by a machine.” Lisa protested as the giant held her box and looked down on her, as she was uncomfortably small and confined in this box prison.
“No, I know. I get that, and I’m sorry. But I really screwed up with my girlfriend, and she loves to collect toys. You’ll be a great part of her collection.
“Aw, thank you!” Lisa said, cheerily.
It had been like that since she stepped on the AutoBoxer machine. It did more than box her up, it did something to her mind. Now she was happy to be called a doll, to be complimented and adored. At least, until her more rational mind took over. “Listen, I’ll help you find the perfect toy for your girlfriend, whatever it takes. Just, take me to the machine in the back room, and turn me back into a person.”
The man holding her box frowned and looked down the aisle, toward where Lisa knew the door to the backroom lay. “I don’t know, I don’t want to get into trouble with the store. How did you use the machine in the first place, if it’s in the back?”
Lisa sighed, “I got…nosey. The door was open and I saw an employee use the machine. He put a cute old rag doll on this pad, hit a few buttons, and then it was all cleaned up and boxed. I just wanted to know how it worked. Well, I figured it out, I guess.” She fidgeted some, as much as the twist ties holding her to the backing board allowed her.
The man sighed. “It sounds to me like you got yourself into this mess.”
“But—”
“And the machine, whatever it did, turned you into a really cute doll.”
“Thank you! It’s so sweet of you to say so,” Lisa said automatically, feeling the increasingly familiar rush of pleasure at her adoration.
“Listen, I don’t want you to freak my girlfriend out. So could you just, instead of saying that you were turned into a doll, maybe tell her you were a doll brought to life?”
Outwardly, Lisa nodded. “Of course! As a doll, I’m supposed to do whatever I’m told.” Inwardly, she cringed, her stomach tying into knots. She didn’t want to be bought, to become a possession, but whatever the AutoBoxer did to her saw to it that’s exactly what happened. When it put her in this box, it made sure there would be only one way to get out: with an Owner.
