Christmas eve has finally arrived. Emilia and I have enjoyed this day together a lot, with just the two of us. Well, it’s not exactly just the two of us, but everybody else here could only really be silent observers.

But now, the time has truly come for the final door to be opened. The final transformation.

Emilia is about to open the door with a shaky hand but I stop her before she can do so. “Huh?”

I do not say anything as I reach for the calendar door together with her. I have been waiting for this exact moment for a while. Transforming all of these people takes a lot out of you. So why not relax a little in a most pleasant way.

Together with her, I open the door and I proceed to kiss her on the mouth.

As we let the magic enter our bodies, there is a look of surprise on Emilia’s face. She had not expected this at all. On top of that, this will be the first time she has ever been transformed, and it was going to be inanimate.

But I have experience with the process and I know what kind of transformation is in store for us. I just hope that we end up looking nice. I wrap an arm around her neck while placing my other hand on her cheek. All the while, we are being surrounded by a bright light.

Emilia, in response, closes her eyes and simply returns the kiss. She presses herself into me, wrapping her arms around my sides.

The light enveloping us is not just for show of course as both of us can feel our bodies stiffening. Hardening. Our movements, which had been sensual just moments ago, are getting slower. It is taking more and more effort to move our arms, our hands, and even our tongues in each other’s mouths.

The clothes that both of us are wearing are hardening just like Emilia and I as we are turned into simple statues. Figurines. Stone imitations of humans to be admired and looked at.

I manage to sneak a peek at Emilia’s face. She has already mostly been converted into stone. Her movements have ceased almost completely and there is little to suggest that she had been human before. There is a joyful look on her face that I know she will be bearing for the duration of the transformation. This in turn makes me take on a similar look. I just barely manage to close my own eyes as well before the conversion into stone locks me into place fully.

And just like that, there we stand. Emilia and I, locked in a kiss. A kiss that will last for quite some time.

However, this is not yet the end of the transformation for us as the light that envelops us flashes before slowly dimming down again. As it dims, Emilia and I find ourselves in a different location, and as a much smaller size. Or well, not entirely. Both of us have our eyes closed so we can’t exactly see but we can definitely feel something. It is snow, falling down on our heads.

Emilia might wonder where we are. Are we outside? But I of course know exactly where we are. She had made a comment about how something felt missing back on day 3, when Doli Fay became the snow falling down within the snowglobe. Well, that missing spot has now been filled.

And so, the transformation concludes with two figures, statues, standing in the snow, within a snowglobe, within the living room, locked in a kiss together.

‘Merry Christmas,’ I think. I know that she can hear me. It is no surprise thanks to our physical connection. We are two and yet, we are one statue now.

‘Merry Christmas,’ I hear back coming from Emilia.
