Five more doors. Five more transformations. Five more people.

And two of those people seem to be arguing now about who goes first. If Lisa, Liza, and Eliza’s names were similar, Chloe and Chloé truly take the cake. How could one possibly distinguish these names? Well, one way would be for one of them to get herself transformed. You could say Lisa, Liza, and Eliza, or you could say Sweater, Mittens, and bell. That begs the question what the two C’s will become.

In the end, I decide to just flip a coin, resulting in Chloe being the winner. “Hell yeah!” she cheers. It’s quite funny to see someone cheering about becoming an inanimate object.

Alongside the rest of himself, he also has to warm his neck

“Clothing yet again, huh?” says Chloe.

“A scarf by the sounds of it,” says Rey.

A scarf would indeed be correct as the transformation sets in. However, this time, it is not a simple conversion from human into scarf. Instead, Chloe watches curiously as she discovers a piece of thread sticking out of one of her fingers.

Chloé eyes it as well and decides to reach for it. “Can I?”

“You might as well,” says Chloe.

Of course, Chloé wastes no time and pulls on the thread, only for it to pull out more, and more, and even more than that! Everyone is quite confused about where this piece of string is even coming from but it is easy to see that Chloe’s finger has gotten significantly shorter as the thread is untangled.

“Whoah.” Chloé simply keeps on pulling at the string, further untangling more of Chloe’s finger. Then her hand. Then even her entire arm! What they haven’t seen yet, however, is the fact that the thread that has already been pulled out has slowly been knitting itself into a warm, wooly scarf! Well, Chloe herself must be feeling this happening at least.

“How does that feel?” Luke just looks on curiously as this is happening.

As Chloe’s body simply keeps on untangling itself, she is starting to gain a similar expression to that of Eliza from the day before. The look of acceptance and joy of being transformed. “It feels… great,” she says, just as the untangling of her head begins.

And all the while, the construction of a scarf from the thread pulled out of Chloe continues. It is definitely going to become quite a long scarf but that just means that she will be extra warm for whoever wears her.

With so little of Chloe’s body still remaining human, she simply falls apart into a heap of her former clothing now.

“Here’s hoping we won’t have to untangle her from her clothes!” says Emilia.

Of course, that will not be a concern. The thread that is Chloe’s entire body is quite sturdy and strong and, soon enough, it is pulled out entirely. Having transformed completely, the remainder of the thread simply knits itself fully into the scarf that Chloe has now become.

Naturally, I cannot wait to wrap the new scarf around my neck. I do so enjoy wearing clothing that used to be human. They are somehow… more comfortable. Warmer. More intimate.

And Chloe is no exception. She is snuggly wrapped around me and I can just feel how happy she is as a scarf, being worn by me. A joy that she shares with so many of these other transformed people. It is perhaps paradoxical to learn how happy all of these people are, even though their movement, their voice, their ability to choose, and their entire humanity has been stripped from them. Perhaps it is because of their human choice to make it so.
