“Okay, I feel like I’ve waited long enough for my turn,” says Stargizar as he walks on over to the calendar. He takes a quick last bite out of the gingerbread girl that was Laura and prepares himself for whatever transformation is to come for him.
Swirling sweetness, red and white, curled on one of its ends
Often used with eggnog drinks, a treat to share with friends
Stargizar can’t help but peek over at the gingerbread woman that was Laura. The one he had just taken a bite out of again. “Guess I’ll be joining her then,” he says.
“Yes, but not quite,” I say. I of course already know what is coming up but it is fun to keep everyone in suspense. Naturally, some of the others might already have started making the correct guesses themselves.
Regardless of any of that, the calendar door has been opened. The rhyme has been read, meaning the transformation has already taken hold. And indeed, it is starting to become apparent starting at the tip of his head. It is a little hard to tell at first but it soon looks like red and white lines have started circling around his head, reaching downwards.
The swirling stripes of red and white travel down his body at great speeds. Nothing of his skin is spared as the conversion reaches all the way down to the tips of his toes. He can’t help but look at his arms for a moment. Arms that look like they are getting a little shorter. “Well that’s something you don’t see every day.”
As many before him have done, he begins shrinking down as well. Shrinking to the point where his pants are falling off rather quickly. But… no, that didn’t just happen because of the shrinking. No, it is because of the fact that his legs are actually merging together. Not only that, but it looks like he is forced to get down on his knees by the transformation. Something that he quickly complies with.
“Wait, didn’t the rhyme say ‘sweetness’?” Stargizar curiously decides to lick the back of one of his hands while he can still reach them. Interestingly enough, even his tongue is a red and white swirl. “Whoah!”
“Do you… taste nice?” asks Wolf, sounding rather gullibly.
Stargizar chuckles. “Why not taste for yourself.” His skin has started smoothing over a little as the shrinking continues. His merged legs are now very much curling upwards behind him meaning that others have to hold him up a little lest he falls over.
His arms completely disappear into his body while the rest of his clothes fall off of the transforming Christmas confection. Of course, his arms aren’t the only human features that are quickly vanishing as he is becoming more and more into what has now become quite obvious: A candy cane.
Stargizar has also become quite small now, although still decently bigger than most normal candy canes. Curiously, Megan decides to pick him up by the curled tip that used to be his legs, causing him to hang upside down. “It’s okay that we get to lick?” she asks.
As Stargizar’s neck and face have started smoothing over, he uses the last of his mobility to nod. “I’d… love that…” With that, the transformation concludes, leaving behind nothing but a candy cane. A treat to be enjoyed over Christmas.
And of course, the others waste no time to grant the new candy cane’s final wish before his transformation. Several people give him a good lick to enjoy the sugary taste, knowing that everything grows back right away. Iris even sneaks in a bite but it is no cause for alarm at all.
Eventually, the candy cane is placed next to the gingerbread Laura, to be enjoyed by everyone whenever they please. At least, for as long as they are still able to do so because as the days go on, the amount of untransformed people is dwindling one by one.
