“It’s gonna have to be my turn now!” says Ruby eagerly. I’ve been noticing over the past few days that she became quite giddy, especially after Eileen’s transformation into a light spirit to decorate the tree with. Naturally, I already know what’s going to be behind door number 10 and I know that she’ll be joining Eileen soon enough.
Our lovely tree has pretty coloured lights for all our adoration
But a Christmas Tree is incomplete without its decoration
“Decoration, huh?” ponders Ruby. “I wonder what kind?”
I chuckle while I go and place some soft pillows around her feet. I know what is to happen after all.
Chloé tilts her head. “It looks like… you’re turning quite colourful,” she mentions.
Ruby looks down at her arms and, sure enough, there are patches of her skin that are changing colours. There are red spots, silver splotches, and even some that appear to have a golden sheen to it. Curiously, she begins looking over more of her body and she finds that it is happening absolutely everywhere. Even her fiery red hair has begun shifting in colour slightly.
“Whoah,” she exasperates as the different colours are taking on an entirely different material as well, becoming a lot more shiny as they reflect some of Eileen’s light over by the Christmas tree that was Corey. Not only that, but it is starting to look like each little patch is beginning to form… bulbs? Like little mosquito bites, there are small lumps forming everywhere that are quickly growing.
Ruby tilts her head a little as this is happening, really quite curious as to what exactly she is turning into. “This is… a strange transformation.”
“It’s not painful, is it?” asks Emilia.
Ruby shakes her head in response as she uses her hand to feel over some of the bulbs. Well, what is left of her hands. Her fingers appear to have retracted into her hands, which are becoming quite spherical as well. “They’re… so smooth,” she says.
It all comes to a head when Sarah walks up to Ruby. “Really?” she asks as she feels one of the bulbs in Ruby’s right shoulder, only to accidentally remove it from her body in its entirety. As she looks at what appears to be a red Christmas ornament, she gasps. “WHOAH, SORRY!” she cries out.
Ruby chuckles. “No… it’s okay. I think that was supposed to happen,” she says as another Christmas ornament simply falls out of her left leg onto the soft pillows below.
I nod with a grin. “You’ll make the tree look lovely,” I say to her.
“Cool!” says Stargizar while quickly snatching up some more ornaments that she picks out of Ruby’s body and walks on over to the tree to start hanging them up. The others follow suit, slowly picking apart the quickly transforming girl and using her to decorate the tree.
Of course, Ruby is able to feel all of it. Each little ornament is a part of her body. Each ornament holds a part of herself and she is able to feel each and every single one of them.
The best part, however, is what is happening to her face as it seems to have started morphing into something decently bigger than a simple orb. Something much more drake-like.
“Do hang me… somewhere nice,” she says as her teeth grow into fangs. Her ears became more like wings and her hair actually seems to turn into a tail. And then, it all freezes into a christmas ornament looking quite like a dragon. Where before stood a girl now lies a bunch of Christmas ornaments that the others here are slowly hanging up in the tree.
I myself of course pick up the drake-like ornament and hang it somewhere in the middle of Corey the tree.
“Must be nice, to be such lovely decorations,” says Luke.
“I couldn’t agree more,” I respond.
