“Well, with Eileen transformed, I think I wanna be next,” says Iridius. They had been staring at the pretty Christmas lights for some time now. At one point, they even tried talking to Eileen  but of course, there was no way for the light spirit to answer. Now, they opened door 6, decently bigger than Laura’s door, to let the transformation overtake them.

To celebrate the holiday, some might hang this from their door

But add it above the fireplace and it will add to this room’s decor

“Above the fireplace?” Iridius ponders aloud. It is a little cryptic and not very obvious right away. What will they become? What form will they take on?

“I think you’re becoming green, like Corey!” says Sarah.

“I’m pretty sure you’re becoming quite round as well!” remarks Eliza.

There is a look of surprise on Iridius’s face. “Round?” they ponder. But it is definitely true. They are starting to become a little round. Curiously, Iridius lifts up their sweater to get a closer look at what is happening, only to be surprised that their belly button is expanding?

Upon seeing their look of momentary panic, I reassure them. “It is okay. It isn’t painful, is it?”

“No… no, I guess not,” says Iridius as the hole expands more and more, to the point that one is now able to see right through them into the other side. What they haven’t noticed yet is the fact that there are more changes happening to their body. That is, until Megan comments on it.

“Your hair… it’s becoming red!” she remarks.

“For real?” asks Iridius as they reach up, only to run into an unexpected surprise. Their arms had been retracting all this time and are just a little bit too short to reach their hair! At the same time, their legs have been retracting as well and they have gotten a lot shorter. All the while, their form is rounding out more and more while, much like with Corey on day one, small, needle-like leaves are beginning to sprout out all over.

“Are you becoming a doughnut?” asks Vin confused.

“No… a wreath,” Iridius says as they realize it themselves. Indeed, they are correct, right as some of their clothes are beginning to fall off uselessly. Christmas ornaments begin growing out of several spots on their body while their red hair is starting to combine into some kind of fabric. It doesn’t take long for anyone to see why that is, as all of it gets tied into a lovely ribbon.

They are quickly losing more and more of their ability to move as they are now no longer able to stand on their own two feet. Luckily, I am here to pick them up while the rest of their transformation occurs, fishing them out of the remainder of their clothes.

As their head is starting to retract into the wreath that is their new body as well, Iridius speaks up one last time. “Well… merry Christmas.” And just like that, they are silenced as they surrender themselves into the form of a Christmas wreath. A lovely piece of decoration to be hung up on the mantelpiece. Nothing less, nothing more.

Their transformation concludes soon enough as their form has turned into a circle of interwoven conifer branches with red and silver Christmas ornaments and a ribbon hanging from it. There is even a little bit of white powdered snow visible on the tips of the leaves.

“Lovely,” I say as I go to the fireplace to hang them up there, further adding to the Christmas vibes of the room.

“Very nice indeed,” says Johann. “Christmas decorations always put a smile on my face.”

“Why yes. I agree,” I say to him.
