“Who’s taking door number 5? Because if no-one else will, then I’d like to go for it!” says Eileen. It seems that she had been waiting for her turn quite eagerly and now, it was finally there. Her door on the calendar is quite a bit smaller again. Smaller, even, than the door that turned Laura into gingerbread. The eager Eileen takes a quick last bite out of the latter before embracing her own transformation.

A Christmas tree is just a tree without its Christmas lights

So we must illuminate it to brave the dark winter nights

Eileen tilts her head, a little confused. What kind of transformation will this be? Well, I know what it will be, of course. I straighten out my new dress a little while I wait with anticipation.

And I do not have to wait long for everyone begins noticing changes soon enough. “Are you getting brighter?” asks Iridius.

“Brighter? What are you ta-wha?!” Eileen gasps as she, too, now notices that there’s a faint glow coming off of her. As if the luminescence of fireflies is coursing through her veins now.

But the faint glow soon increases in intensity. To the point where it is actually starting to become a little difficult to look her way without narrowing one’s eyes.

Serena chuckles. “Anybody got sunglasses?” she asks.

The others laugh as well but it is honestly not the worst idea as Eileen is becoming quite bright now.

Eileen seems excited now as she grows brighter and brighter. What she does not realize yet though, is the conversion that her body is actually going through. That is, until some of her clothes begin falling off her body uselessly.

“Eek!” she cries out while trying to cover herself. Of course, none of that is necessary as she is now surely a little too bright to look at. How did that happen? She hasn’t shown any signs of shrinking and yet, this happened.

Carefully, Eileen bends down to try and pick up some of her clothes to cover herself. However, her hand appears to go right through her clothes. “Huh?”

“It is because your body has converted into pure light,” I say with my eyes closed.

“Pure light… whoah…” It is indeed true. Eileen’s humanity had been stripped from her as she is now a being of pure, white light. “But why? I can still move… and talk…” says Eileen.

“For now,” I respond while I conjure up a long cable with several, coloured light bulbs on it. Interestingly enough, there is no way to plug it into the wall. Of course, I know the reason for that as I point its end in the direction of Eileen.

“... Oh… heh… don’t worry… I’ll make the Corey tree look pretty,” says Eileen resolutely. She stretches her arms as she prepares herself for her new purpose. Then, she walks up to the cable and touches its end. What happens next actually goes insanely quickly. Light, after all, travels faster than anything and to the naked eye, the process seems instant.

In actuality, the spirit of light that was Eileen gave up her humanoid form and everything that came with it in order to jump into the cable. Her new home. Her whole being quickly enters every single lightbulb to truly make a colourful spectacle. White light, after all, contains every single colour on the spectrum. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, even violet.

Within the lightbulbs, Eileen id no longer as bright, making it safe to look again. Of course, everybody couldn’t help but admire the lovely Christmas lights.

“I’ll help put her in the tree!” says Ruby eagerly while she takes the cable from me.

I smile. “Yes. The tree does need decorating.”
