Timothy woke up quite groggily that morning. It was apparent that he’d been up for way too long the past few nights and he had needed the sleep. He felt that something was off about him but he couldn’t quite figure out what it was. It was probably simply him being overly tired. He yawned as he slowly opened his eyes. What he saw surprised him a little. He got up and looked around himself to make sure his eyes weren’t deceiving him. No… it was definitely true. This was not his room.

Timothy frowned as he got up. There was something heavy hanging off his chest and it felt like there was something missing but for now, he deemed it much more prudent to inspect this mysterious room. Where was he? Whose room was this? He could have sworn he fell asleep in his own room last night…

There was a desk with a laptop on it that definitely wasn’t his. There was a large closet that looked at least twice as big as his own. There was a purple carpet on the floor and the bed that he’d been sleeping in was a lot lighter in colour than his own. There was even a washtable with some morning routine stuff and… was that a handful of make-up items? Next to the washtable stood something tall with a cloth draped over it. However, the cloth wasn’t big enough to cover the whole thing and from the bottom, Timothy could see that it was a mirror. As he lifted the cloth up, his jaw dropped at what he saw.

Staring back at Timothy from the mirror was a girl. A girl with blonde hair that reached down to her mid back. Her cheeks were poofy and her eyes were hazel brown.

Only now did Timothy look down at his body. Surely this had to be some kind of trick! However, sure enough, he saw two bumps in the shirt that he’d been sleeping in. Next up, he reached down with his hands to carefully check between his legs and found a vagina there rather than the penis he’d expected there to be.

Timothy started panicking. How… what… when… why… There were so many questions that he didn’t know where to even begin asking them. Thus, he did the only thing that popped into his mind: he started screaming.

Mere moments later, there was a knock on the door. This only caused Timothy to panic even more. Who in the world could this be?!

“Y-yes?” Timothy asked. His voice was definitely a lot more feminine than his own had been.

The door opened and in walked a grown man that actually looked a little bit like the girl Timothy currently was. He was holding a cup and a piece of paper. “Alright, Emma. Where’s the spider?” he asked.

Timothy looked at him with wide eyes. Almost instinctively, he tried hiding his new breasts. Did he just call him ‘Emma’? Was that the girl’s name? And was this man the girl’s father? “S-spider?” he asked.

“Only a spider can make you scream like that!” the man said with a chuckle.

Timothy gulped. He had to think of an excuse and fast. “N-no… sorry, I… it was just a nightmare,” he blurted out.

The man looked down at his cup and paper and then shrugged. “Well, I can’t exactly catch dream spiders with these,” he said.

Timothy let out a nervous chuckle at that. “Sorry…” he stammered.

The man grinned “No problem. Make sure you get yourself ready though. We don’t wanna be too late,” he said.

Timothy gulped a second time and looked very uneasy. “Late… for what?” he asked.

The man tilted his head. “The zoo, remember?” he said.

    “A-ah… right!” Timothy said.

The man narrowed his eyes and leaned in a little. “Are you sure you’re okay, Em?” he asked.

Timothy backed off a little. “Y-yeah… it must still be the nightmare, that’s all!” he blurted out.

The man appeared satisfied with that answer for he shrugged and turned around again. “Alright, kiddo. If you say so. You know you can tell your father anything, right?”

Timothy nodded vigorously. “S-Sure, dad,” he said. Did he really just call this strange man ‘dad’?

The father smiled over his shoulder and went down the stairs, vanishing from view.

Quickly, Timothy closed his door and leaned against it. He really had to calm down and put all the facts in order here. The most important thing here was the fact that he was now a girl apparently called ‘Emma’. Looking back into the mirror, he truly was fully female. There wasn’t a shred of masculinity that he could detect there. That was already strange enough. Then there was the fact that he was in a completely different house, with a completely different father from his own. There was but one conclusion to draw from that all: He was now occupying somebody else’s life.

“This has to be a dream!” he hissed to himself. It was still so surprising to him to hear a girl’s voice come out of his mouth. He pinched his arm to the point that it actually left a mark but try as he might, there was no waking up. This was reality. He really was this ‘Emma’ girl… whoever she was. And apparently, ‘she’ was going to visit the zoo with ‘her father’.

If all of that was true, then… what of his old body? Did his old life cease to exist? Or had he, perhaps, switched bodies? That would mean that the real Emma was going through a similar experience right now back at Timothy’s home.

What was Timothy supposed to do now? He was going to help out his mom at the flower shop. Was he Instead just supposed to go along with Emma’s father? Pretend that he was Emma and have a fun day at the zoo? It wasn’t like there was much else he could do…

Timothy was shaken out of his thoughts again by the father’s voice shouting from downstairs. “The bathroom’s free, Emma!” he called out.

Timothy yelped. “T-the bathroom…?” he repeated to himself softly.

Timothy had to search around the house quite a bit before he finally found the bathroom. Emma’s room was apparently up in the attic and the bathroom was one floor down. He was glad he didn’t run into the father a second time because he wasn’t really wanting to answer any more questions that Emma was supposed to know the answers to.

He locked the door behind him and was instantly met with a very sinking feeling. He was going to have to take a shower here and wash himself, which meant…

He gulped as he looked at himself in the bathroom mirror. If he really was occupying the life of someone else, not to mention a girl rather than another guy, then he really shouldn’t be looking at her body. He had always despised it when his classmates would talk about trying to peek into the girl’s changing room at school. This felt like a full step beyond even that! He felt gross even just thinking about it. However, he couldn’t exactly not wash himself.

Carefully and slowly, Timothy lifted the nightgown that he’d been sleeping in over his head. There really was a pair of breasts hanging from his chest now. He truly had an hourglass figure and, sure enough, there wasn’t any sort of bulge at all down in the panties that he was wearing. He hesitated even more as he pulled it down and stepped out of it.

Now fully naked, he could not really help himself. He looked at his new body. At Emma’s body. He even twirled around to see it from all sides. There was only one thing that was even more surprising than his new body and that was the fact that, at least a part of him, actually liked this. This body that he now occupied. The body of a girl that had to be roughly his own age of sixteen. Perhaps being this Emma, for now, wasn’t all that bad…?

Timothy quickly shook himself out of these thoughts. What was he thinking?! He was a guy! He was Timothy! And he was currently lusting over somebody else’s body!? Well… no, that wasn’t entirely true. It didn’t feel like lusting. He wasn’t getting turned on. It felt more like… like this was right somehow?

Regardless, he quickly dove into the shower and turned it on. The shower itself went okay, if a bit fast. He still felt very weird and awkward about touching his own body to wash it and he got very confused when he had to wash his hair and saw all of the different bottles of shampoo, shower gel, and other such products, most of which appeared to be unused and unopened. What was he even supposed to use where? And how?

In the end though, Timothy stepped out of the shower refreshed and clean. Again, he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror but he paid it no heed this time. Instead, he picked up a towel and began drying himself. This did send more sensations through his new body. He realized that he felt a lot softer than he was used to. He was also a little bit smaller and, of course, he felt that certain parts of his body were now a lot more sensitive.

Afterwards, he looked at the towel. In movies, he’d often seen girls wrap towels around their bodies like a sort of robe. It took Timothy a few attempts before he managed to do so himself. Then he found what appeared to be a hairdryer and inspected it. He had never used one of these before. How did they even work? Being a girl was harder than he thought…

When Timothy finally arrived back in Emma’s room, he let out a sigh. He had survived his first female shower. He had even used the toilet and probably used up way too much toilet paper afterwards. Not to mention the fact that touching his new vagina just felt very awkward.

But despite all of that, there was something even more worrying about Timothy’s current predicament. He… wasn’t particularly missing his old body. He wasn’t concerned or sad at the fact that he no longer had a penis. He didn’t freak out over the fact he now had breasts. He even felt that he liked his current voice a lot more than his old male one. Even the small act of drying his hair with a hairdryer was actually a lot more fun than he had anticipated.

What was going on? Why was he thinking like this? Were these thoughts a part of his body swap? Well, no. He didn’t feel all that different from before. He was still Timothy. But then why did he accept this new body so readily? Earlier when he looked at himself in the mirror, he did not do so to lust over a girl’s body. No, he was looking over his own body. He was admiring himself with disbelief. After all, he could not believe that he could look so… so pretty.

Goodness, what was up with him! That wasn’t any way for a guy to think, was it? And yet, here he was…

Timothy let out a sigh as he walked over to the closet. When he opened it, his jaw dropped once more at the sheer volume of clothing that was piled up here. Jeans, sweaters, vests, leggings, socks, underwear, a surprisingly large amount of scarfs. This all looked so much more varied than his own closet back at home. He usually just wore denim jeans under a black shirt. Now that he was a girl though… perhaps he could get away with wearing something a bit more outgoing?

Timothy surprised himself with how eagerly he started digging through all of his options. There wasn’t anything too out of the ordinary but it was still a lot more varied than what he owned himself back at home. As he dug through one of the piles, he was surprised to find a bra in pieces? Timothy picked up the rags and held up the pieces. Why would Emma cut up a bra like this? What is that all about? And it looked like such a nice bra too…

Though he was curious about it, Timothy put the pieces back where he found them for now and kept on digging. Eventually, somewhere at the bottom of one of the piles, he discovered a yellow dress with a floral pattern on it. It was probably the most feminine piece of clothing Timothy could find which made it stand out against the rest of the closet’s contents. Dresses and skirts appeared to be lacking. They were there but most of them were kind of plain, which actually surprised Timothy. He thought that all girls liked dresses and skirts but apparently that wasn’t really the case for Emma.

Regardless, Timothy looked over this dress. Curiously, he walked over to the mirror and held the dress in front of himself. He had to admit, it would look incredibly cute on himself. Well, on Emma. And if he was going to be a girl, then he might as well go all out with it, right?

Timothy went on to pick out a pair of matching underwear and after struggling to put on the bra, cursing several times under his breath about it, he finally was dressed up fully. He decided against attempting to put on make-up but he did find a nice bracelet that he decided to wear. He could not believe that the cute girl staring back at him through the mirror was Timothy right now. He never thought that he could look like this. That he could… be a girl…

“Stop it, Timothy! This isn’t you! This is Emma’s body!” he hissed at himself. He couldn’t let himself get swept up by all of this! But he could not deny that he was feeling a lot better about all of this now. That he liked this a lot more than he should have. And it wasn’t even that he thought it was hot. No, that wasn’t it at all. No, a part of him felt that this was… right somehow. That this was as it was meant to be.

The turmoil he was going through was once again interrupted by Emma’s father.

“Are you done up there, Emma? Come and eat your breakfast!” he said.

“I’m coming, dad!” Timothy shouted back. This was all so strange. He was calling Emma’s father ‘dad’ and he was feeling at home about it. The world really had to have turned upside down or something.

“It’s on the table,” the father said. He had his back turned to Timothy as he was baking his own breakfast.

Timothy went to sit down at the dinner table. His ‘father’ had made sausages and an egg on some bread, as well as a glass of orange juice. A stroke of fear went through his head at that since he knew that he was allergic to oranges. But… if Emma’s father had made it here, then that meant that Emma wasn’t allergic to it?

He began eating quietly and took a tentative sip from the juice as well. Sure enough, he did not feel any sort of reaction from it.

When Emma’s father turned around with his own plate, he halted and stared at Timothy for a moment.

Timothy’s eyes went a little wide as he looked down at his body. Had he done something wrong while getting ready? He was a guy, after all. He wasn’t experienced in the ways of girls at all…

“Is… something wrong?” he asked, getting increasingly worried now.

“Oh… no, not at all,” Emma’s father started. “It’s just that I haven’t seen you wear that dress in a long time,” he said.

Timothy calmed down again. If that was it, then he had done a better job of it than he thought. However, there was a slight panic again right away. Apparently, he had decided to wear something that was out of character for Emma. He gulped. “I… figured it was a special day today,” he blurted out.

Emma’s father grinned and sat down at the table as well then. “It is, it is. I guess it’s true that teenage girls change their minds on a whim, huh,” he mused.

Timothy put up a grin while stuffing a sausage into his mouth. As much as he was okay with being Emma for now, he had absolutely no idea how Emma would usually act. He didn’t know how she usually talked to her father, what she’d normally wear, or even if she’d put on make-up or not. He had kind of just hoped for the best but it seemed that he was already being different from Emma.

“Man, how long ago has it been now since we visited the zoo?” Emma’s father asked.

“Uhm… a few years?” Timothy guessed.

“Hah! I think it was more than ‘a few years’. I believe we stopped going there when your mother and I… well, you know the rest,” Emma’s father said.

Timothy did not, in fact, know the rest but judging by what he just said, he could make a pretty good guess. So Emma lived here with her father alone. The question was whether she also lived at her mother’s place every so often or not.

“I’m just glad you agreed to come, like old times. Heh, I remember the days that you’d run up to the penguin enclosure. Your favourite animals at the time,” Emma’s father said with a big, sentimental smile.

This actually made Timothy feel bad. He was apparently depriving Emma of a nice father-daughter bonding trip. Well, it wasn’t like he could do anything about it. He had been thrust into this situation by some unknown power. He wondered what the real Emma was going through right at that moment…

“Well, penguins are cute… and silly,” Timothy said. It seemed that this was one point that he and Emma agreed on. “Did I ever have a dolphin fase?”

Emma’s father placed a hand on his chin as he thought about it. “I believe you did… I’m afraid your mother knows that better than I do,” he said.

    Timothy chuckled. “Right,” he said.

The rest of their breakfast went fairly uneventful. Emma’s father would occasionally just memorize things that happened in the past and Timothy would simply say truthfully that he did not remember it. Emma’s father simply accepted these answers since, apparently, it was all quite a while ago.

When breakfast was done, Timothy decided to help out with cleaning the dishes. Something that was apparently surprising to Emma’s father. However, he didn’t make much of a comment about it.

All of these little differences between Timothy and Emma were slowly becoming a little more apparent here and there by how Emma’s father would react to how Timothy was acting. However, it simply made him wonder about whether he should adjust his behaviour to be more in line with how Emma would act, or if he should simply keep going as he was going. It was going well for him so far after all, and it seemed to make the father happy too. Perhaps life as Emma wasn’t going to be so bad at all…

“No phone today?” Emma’s father asked. They were driving to the zoo and Timothy was just looking around himself to see if he recognized anything.

“Oh! Uh, no. Not today,” Timothy stammered. Right before the trip, he had found Emma’s bag and looked through it. He had managed to find an ID card among others with the name ‘Emma Hopkins’ on it and a date of birth that was maybe half a year after his own. He had also found Emma’s phone but he couldn’t exactly admit to her father that he had no idea what Emma’s passwords were.

“And not even a scarf today,” Emma’s father said.

Timothy raised an eyebrow at that one. “It’s way too hot out,” he said. Seriously? This Emma would wear a scarf, even on a sunny day like this? There were definitely more than a few curiosities about this girl, alright. Not that Timothy himself was all that ordinary, though…

Emma’s father smirked. “You know, you really are acting strange today,” he said.

Timothy gulped. “A-am I?” he asked.

“So… go on then, tell me. What’s his name?” Emma’s father asked.

Timothy felt himself grow red as a lobster. Was he suggesting… did he think that… “N-No! There’s nobody that… I don’t…” he stammered.

Emma’s father laughed out loud. “Alright, Em. If you don’t wanna tell me yet, I won’t pry,” he said.

Timothy looked away and simply stared out the window, incredibly embarrassed. Great, now he has made Emma’s father think that Emma is fancying someone. He wasn’t! Err… she wasn’t! Goodness, why was Timothy even getting so worked up about this when it wasn’t even his own life? Maybe because, at least today, it actually was his life?

His embarrassment was wiped from his memory shortly though when he noticed something familiar outside of the car. It was a shopping mall that he had gone to with his friends quite often! That meant that he was at the very least still in the same city!

“Did you see something?” Emma’s father asked.

“I just… remembered I still have to buy something,” Timothy replied, thinking fast.

“Well, if you want us to stop at the mall…” Emma’s father proposed.

“No, no it’s fine. I’ll do it tomorrow,” Timothy said, chuckling nervously. “We were going to the zoo, right?”

“Right you are,” Emma’s father said.

Timothy just continued looking around again. Even the simple act of sitting in a car felt so much different in a girl’s body. He could feel the seatbelts kind of cutting into the skin of his new breasts. He could simply close his legs together when sitting without accidentally squishing something. Not to mention the fact that his legs felt so much more freed now that he wasn’t wearing his usual jeans. In fact, it almost felt wrong and he was very conscious of the fact that, while wearing this dress, it would only take a gust of wind to expose what was underneath. However, he still decided to wear it for it did look pretty cute. His legs also felt very smooth. Emma had apparently shaved her legs and Timothy found that he really quite liked seeing that on his own legs.

All in all, this was an experience that he was not soon going to forget. In fact, there was a part of him, however small, that actually preferred this body over his old one. The same part that secretly hoped that this was not a temporary change. He tried burying that part of himself for now but it was there. He could only really wonder what the rest of the day would bring for this experience.

“Two tickets, please,” Emma’s father said.

“Alright. And how old is she?” the lady behind the counter asked.

    “She’s 16,” Emma’s father replied.

Timothy was kind of shaking on his legs. Being out in public like this, he was now surrounded by so many strangers that could see him. He felt as if he should be attracting quite some attention, since he was technically a guy but in a girl’s body. However, he appeared as just a girl for them. He was just a teenage girl now called Emma Hopkins.

Well, it’s not that he wasn’t attracting any attention. He could feel some eyes going into his direction. Something that he wasn’t really used to when he was still a guy. Primarily, there were some other teenage boys that occasionally glanced in her direction. It appeared that Timothy wasn’t the only one who thought that he looked pretty.

There was also the fact that Emma’s father and the lady behind the counter referred to Timothy as ‘she’ and ‘Emma’. This gave him such an alien feeling. It felt like he was being showered in flower petals. As if it had been raining constantly and only now did the sun finally break through the clouds. It was such a warm feeling that made him… happy.

But why was that? Was it part of the body swap? Or had he always felt this way? Would it even still be prudent to refer to himself as ‘he’ or ‘Timothy’? Or perhaps…

“Earth to Emma,” came the voice of Emma’s father.

    “Aah! Y-yes dad?” Timothy stammered.

“You were zoning out there,” Emma’s father said. He looked quite amused.

    “S-sorry…” Timothy said apologetically.

Emma’s father simply chuckled and handed out a ticket. When Timothy looked at it, he saw that there was something extra. Since he had visited this zoo plenty of times as well when he was younger, he knew what it was. “You got us tickets for the planetarium?” he asked.

“Yep! The show starts at 2 so we’ve got plenty of time to see the animals before then,” Emma’s father said.

Timothy smiled. He had never been in the planetarium before so this was going to be a first. It was strange that he had to get turned into a girl for it to happen but he wasn’t complaining. “That’s great!” he said cheerfully.

As the two entered the zoo, Timothy was met by a flush of memories of his own visits to this same zoo. At least he knew roughly where everything was because of that, which did help him out.

“Where do we go first?” Emma’s father asked.

“Well… for old time’s sake… what about the penguins then?” Timothy proposed.

This seemed to have pleased Emma’s father as a proud grin appeared on his face. “You read my mind!” he said excitedly.

Timothy could not believe how much fun he was having. He loved seeing all the different animals. He loved reliving some of his own old memories. He liked seeing the penguins, the lions, the reptiles, and possibly his favourite place, the butterfly house. Something that was actually a little surprising to Emma’s father but then, he had gotten surprised by his daughter’s behaviour today so much that it no longer really phased him.

The planetarium show was equally fun. It was a show about the solar system and what it was like on other planets. Timothy had always been fascinated by astronomy so he already knew a lot of the things but it was still fun to see it all in a planetarium.

All the while, Emma’s father was beaming with pride and joy. He was having a great time, for he got to enjoy this bonding experience with his daughter. Again, there was a sense of guilt that Timothy experienced, for he was robbing the real Emma of this experience. That said… he was actually growing quite happy as well himself. He was beginning to like Emma’s father a lot. Almost as if the man really was his father.

It was after the planetarium show that they were sitting on a bench in the food court when Emma’s father proposed to get them both ice cream, leaving Timothy on his own for a moment. It gave Timothy some time to himself, for he had a lot to think about and consider.

First of all, though it had been less than a day, Timothy was already so used to being female. The sensations that had felt so alien to him this morning now felt as normal as the simple act of breathing. The breeze blowing against his exposed shoulders and legs was actually quite pleasant on such a warm day. The only thing that he did not like was the gawking he got from some of the boys around. Did girls have to deal with that all the time?

Secondly, there was the fact that, throughout it all, he felt that he was being treated differently. As a boy, Timothy often felt ignored. A part of the background. Of course, he was partially to blame for that himself, for he tried not to stand out all that much. Now, however, he felt welcomed and liked. People let him pass with little issue and he wasn’t getting bumped into all that much. It was nice. Very nice. The only thing he didn’t really know was whether this was the case because he was female, or because he felt so much more confident and comfortable with himself now that he was female.

Which brought Timothy to the third thing on his mind: the fact that he was enjoying this so much. That he felt so good about this. He had tried to hide this part but it had steadily increased over the course of the day. He felt confident. He felt comfortable. He did not feel the awkwardness that he’d normally feel when out in public. And it was all because he was female now. Every time he looked down at his female body and every time people called her a ‘she’, Timothy experienced what he could only describe as the best feeling he’d ever felt. It was like watching a fireworks show at a summer festival. Like being cuddled by a thousand puppies. He felt so right about this. And it made him wonder if other girls felt this way as well.

But throughout it all, there was an ever diminishing part of his mind that grew concerned and worried. These feelings of joy and happiness. These strange sensations that he couldn’t quite describe. Were these deserved? Were these right? He wasn’t born a girl after all. Why couldn’t he feel these same sensations of joy and happiness in his own body? Nature had given him a penis. Did he deserve the body that other girls were just born with?

It almost felt wrong how right this all felt. Somewhere in the back of his mind, Timothy could hear the voice of his mother, telling him he should ‘man up’ and stop trying to live in a fantasy world. That all of these feelings of joy at being female were just childish that he should grow out of. Not to mention the fact that this was Emma’s body. This was Emma’s life.

It was these things that kept Timothy quite busy whenever he had some time alone. He did not have the answers at all, no matter how hard he thought about it. Heck, he didn’t even know whether this was an alternate reality or if he had swapped bodies with the real Emma.

“Uhm… hey there,” came a male voice from behind Timothy.

Timothy turned around to see a teenage boy, standing at least a head taller than him if not more. “Hello?” Timothy said in confusion.

“Are you here alone?” the boy asked.

“Uhm, no. I’m here with… with my father,” Timothy said. He still hesitated on calling Emma’s father ‘dad’.

It appeared that this boy saw that hesitation as a sign that the girl he was trying to hit on was making a bad excuse for he kept on trying. “Well, I was just wondering if I could get you a drink?” he asked.

Timothy looked at the guy. Did girls have to go through this often? He fidgeted a little in his seat and adjusted his dress a little. “No, thank you. My dad is getting us something,” he said as he began trembling slightly.

The guy started smirking a little. It made Timothy incredibly uncomfortable. “It’s okay, you don’t have to be scared around me,” the boy said while chuckling. “I just want to-”

    “She said no!”

Timothy was relieved to see Emma’s father stand behind the boy, carrying two sorbets and looking incredibly pissed off.

“Dad!” Timothy cried out. It was the first time that day that he felt genuinely about calling the man ‘dad’.

“A-ah… sorry, sir, I was just-” the boy stammered but he was already backing off.

“Get away from her! No means no!” Emma’s father snapped.

“Y-yes sir!” the boy yammered. With that, he turned around and started leaving the food court with his tail between his legs.

Emma’s father sighed and placed the sorbets on the table Timothy had been sitting in. “Blasted boy…” he muttered.

Timothy couldn’t really help himself. He felt a tear welling up in his eye but he forced it back down. It actually surprised him how easily that tear came up. Back in his old body, he found it very difficult to actually cry. Now, though, something so relatively small gave him such a rush of emotions… “Thanks, dad,” he said, his voice still trembling a little.

Emma’s father nodded. “Some people need to learn how to take a hint, I tell you,” he said.

Timothy nodded in agreement. Only now did he look at the sorbet. In an instant, his earlier fears and uncertainties vanished as instead, there was now a spark in his eyes. He quickly grabbed one of the bowls and started eating. “Hmm… delicious!”

Emma’s father grinned. “Hah! See, I knew I remembered your favourite!”

Timothy licked his lips as he dove into the sorbet with lemon and banana flavours. It seemed that this was something that he and Emma had in common as well!

Emma’s father started eating his own as well. He took a few bites without saying anything but finally, he spoke up. “Em, I wanted to say… I’m glad you agreed to come with me, and that you appear a little more comfortable with yourself today,” he said.

Timothy looked at the man, quite surprised.

“I know you may think your old man to be a bit sentimental. I probably am.” Emma’s father chuckled at that. “I know that you’re no longer that little girl anymore you once were. Every girl grows up one day and all. I was just… scared, I guess. Scared that I wouldn’t get to be a part of your life anymore,” Emma’s father said.

Timothy gulped down a rather big spoonful of ice cream, almost giving him brainfreeze. He had only known Emma’s father for the length of that morning up until now but he couldn’t help himself. Tears started welling in his eyes again but this time, he was unable to stop them. A tear rolled down his cheek which kind of freaked him out and he hurriedly wiped it off, only for it to get replaced by a new tear.

Emma’s father scratched his neck again and looked quite apologetic. “I’m sorry, kiddo! I’ll wait until after you’ve eaten next time,” he said, chuckling to himself again.

Timothy couldn’t believe what he was going through. His mind told him that this man wasn’t his father. That he wasn’t Emma. However, his heart told him that, for however long this lasted, he was Emma. That this was his father. And in that moment, Timothy decided to listen to his heart instead. He leaned into the man for a hug and simply let his tears flow. “... Dad…” he mused.

Timothy felt the father’s arms wrap around him in return. They just hugged in silence for a moment and Timothy could swear that he heard an ‘awww’ coming from somewhere behind him. He had never hugged his father, or his mother for that matter, in such a manner. Charged with such emotion. In fact, he had never really been much of a hugger at all. However, yet again, the fact that he was now in a female body somehow made that so much easier. Why was that? Was it just because girls were more emotional? That girls were more keen to hug? Or was it the fact that he was now so much more at ease in this body that he felt so much more comfortable showing his emotions?

“Now… go on, Emma. Don’t let your sorbet melt!” Emma’s father spoke as he broke off the hug again. He appeared to have some red in his eyes as well.

Timothy couldn’t help but chuckle at that. “I’ll… I’ll get you back for that,” he said.

Emma’s father hollered at that. “Looking forward to it!”
