When Perry passed all of the children, he thought he'd finally be safe to take off his fedora. Of course, Candace had to walk past him right at that moment.
"Hey Perry, cute fedora... fedora?" Candace inspected it. Was this the same fedora Jenny had found that morning? Was this the same fedora she had seen Perry with when she was infected by the wacky mosses? She looked at the ceiling, pondering over the matter but when she looked back at Perry, the fedora was gone. "Great" she thought "now I'm not only being followed by a talking zebra, but by a fedora as well."
The backyard was silent save for the quiet summer-breeze. It was as if everything was silently watching and waiting. The backyard itself was empty save for a young red-haired boy and a young raven-haired girl. The scenery as it was now started only a few seconds ago when the young girl decided to hug the boy. The boy hadn't expected this. He had been so deeply in his thoughts that reality seemed like very cold water in which he was suddenly thrown, yet it quickly heated up again.
"I-Isabella..." the boy said.
"P-Phineas..." the girl said.
"Okay, so this man that we should hypnotize lives here, right?" Doofenshmirtz asked his daughter.
"Yep, but please stop calling it hypnosis, dad" Vanessa said.
"Well that's what it is, isn't it?"
"I'd call it drastic persuasion."
"Well whatever, let's just use the slave-inator-2 and get out of here" the doctor said and he ringed the bell.
An old man who was clearly wearing a wig opened the door and asked "yes, what can I do for you?"
"Well we're here to hyp-..." Doofenshmirtz started but he was nudged in the side by his daughter.
"... persuade you to keep my boyfriend's dad here in Danville." Vanessa said.
"And who might that be?" the man asked.
"Mister Knightley" Vanessa answered.
"Ah yes. I am really sorry but I had to send him away" the man said."You see, we are currently overstaffed. We don't want to fire people so we send them to other branches of our company which, unfortunately, are based in other cities. Mister Knightley isn't the only one at that. The deal has already been dealt... though... ... so... we.... aaaare........"
Vanessa looked at the man strangely, what happened? When she looked around, she saw that it was her dad who had started up the slave-inator. "Dad?"
"Shh! Okay mister, you will not send mister Knightley to that other branch! You will keep him right here in Danville, you understand?" the evil scientist said.
"Yeees."
"Good! And I also want you to give me all of your..." Doofenshmirtz wanted to say but a stern look from Vanessa was enough to make him change his mind. "I mean... you will forget that this ever happened."
"Yeees."
"Good!" the doctor said and he shut down the machine again.
The man came back to his senses again. "Wew, I'm sorry, must have zoned out there. Anyway, what were we talking about again?"
"We... were discussing mister Knightley's performances" Vanessa said.
"Oh yes, the man that we won't send away to another city, well he's a great worker indeed! But I have to go now and make a call. Goobye" the man said and he shut the door again.
Vanessa turned to her father. "You did it, dad!" She then hugged him.
"Anything for my little girl" Heinz said, hugging her back. "Now, I have a few schemes that might interest you..."
"Oh my gosh, that is so silly!" Megan said, laughing at the thought of Isabella bumping into a tree.
"Just wait until you hear about what happened in the desert!" Katie then said.
Megan was about to say something when the door to the backyard opened up. Right away, the room fell quiet and everybody looked at the door. Phineas walked inside, hand-in-hand with Isabella.
"Hey guys, don't mind us!" Phineas said.
Still, it was hard for everybody to return to their conversations from before since they were all completely shocked.
Ferb, of all people, was the first to speak again. "So, this is what they mean by an 'awkward silence'." At that, everybody started to laugh.
"So how'd this happen, dinner-bell?" Buford asked.
"I-Isabella..." Phineas said.
"P-Phineas..." Isabella said.
The backyard fell quiet again. It had taken her all of her courage but she had finally made her move by hugging him.
Phineas was completely shocked. His best friend had hugged him, right after she talked about love. Even mister Oblivious himself was able to make the connection. Isabella loved him.
Isabella's head lay on his shoulder. She had done it. There was no way back now. She was wondering whether she had made the right choice but that thought was soon proved wrong when she felt two hands on her back. He had returned the hug. Phineas loved her.
The two were finally together which was bound to happen ever since they met as little toddlers.
"Phineas... I love you." Isabella said.
"I... love you too, Isabella" Phineas replied.
"That, my friend, is classified information" Phineas said.
Isabella giggled.
"Congratulations!" Megan yelled. Soon, the others joined in on her cheering and even Buford started clapping.
"Well anyway, it's getting quite late and I think we should all go home" Gretchen then said.
Everybody agreed.
"Well, I'll be seeing you tomorrow again" Megan said with a smile. It felt so great to be able to say that. She, Adyson and Milly left at the same time since they lived near each-other.
On the way out, Adyson quietly said "did you notice... how cute Buford's nice side is?"
Baljeet left with Ginger and, just a few seconds later, followed by Buford.
Gretchen saluted to Isabella and smiled at her before leaving with Holly and Katy.
Ferb smiled at his brother. He was very happy for his brother and neighbor. Every time he had seen those two together, he knew that this was going to happen. It was simply a matter of time. The green-haired boy silently left the room.
"Wow, what a day." Phineas then said.
"You can say that again." Isabella said.
"I do feel bad about, you know, making you wait for so long" Phineas said, placing an arm behind his head.
"Not after last week, you don't" Isabella replied.
Both giggled until Linda said "dinnertime!"
"Well, that's my cue" Phineas said.
"Wait, first..." Isabella said and she leaned in closer. Phineas didn't fully understand what she meant until he felt two soft lips on his cheek. Of course, Phineas couldn't let that go unanswered so he returned the favor.
"See you tomorrow" Isabella said, blushing and she left through the door.
"Yes, see you tomorrow" Phineas replied, blushing as well.
