"But Buford, that would mean..." Phineas wanted to say.
"That I will be wiped from the playing field. Yes, I do know that but I expect you to handle things from now. You know my strategy!" Buford said.
"I do but..." Phineas had a little trouble with a certain step in Buford's plan. A step that would grant his team victory for sure, but also a step that would lose him something precious: his queen Isabella.
"Okay, I know it's hard for you but you just have to be strong. I was strong when I saved you guys from that giant octopus so why can't you!" Buford said. Buford saw it in Phineas's eyes: he was not going to like giving up on Isabella, even if it was just a game. On one hand, that was bad for the game but on the other hand, it was good news for Isabella. Still, for an only-recently-converted-bully-into-mister-nice-guy to get something done that Isabella and Ferb have been trying for years... it felt strange.
Ferb noticed Buford's doubts. He didn't know exactly what Buford's strategy was but since Phineas was having extreme difficulty with it, he could only guess sacrifices were going to be made and not just sacrifices, but one particular sacrifice: Isabella.
"Impressive" Ferb thought. This also brought him to the next conclusion: Buford was having difficulty with pulling this off. Even though he's always had this nice side of him, it must be hard for him to suddenly show that, even voluntarily.
"Okay... Buford, make your move" Phineas said.
"Okay then!" Buford said and he moved forward, making himself a treat to Megan, but entering the danger-zone of both Megan and Milly as well. This would be the beginning of the end!
"Hmm, I wonder who this fedora belongs to. There's something oddly familiar about this fedora though... I just can't seem to lay my finger on it..." Doofenshmirtz said out loud.
Perry, who had been hiding behind one of the inators all this time, saw that his fedora had finally arrived. He was happy to see it back but now, he just had to get it from his nemesis again.
"Well, it would make a nice cleaning cloth" Norm said.
Perry's eyes widened. He was going to use it for cleaning?! He had to stop him from doing that! He decided that it was time to get out of his hiding spot now!
"Hmm, maybe but... wait, who is that?! IT'S WHO-EVER THE PLATYPUS!!! You know, hiding all this time from me wasn't very nice of you! I've been looking all over and now you suddenly turn up, just like that! And what for?!" Doofenshmirtz yelled. Norm knew that this was the sign to get out of the room quietly.
Perry looked at Doofenshmirtz as if to say 'you gotta be kidding me'.
"Wait, you were the one to replace my picture with these posters, weren't you! Now why would you do that?!"
Again, Perry just stared at him. Doofenshmirtz got annoyed and went into an all-out assault. Perry easily dodged him and tried to get his fedora back. Just then, Doofenshmirtz pulled away, making Perry hit a steel bar behind him, causing him to get dizzy.
"HA, that will teach you! There's only one platypus that can stop me and that platypus is NOT you! MUHAHAHHAA" Doofenshmirtz yelled out loud. Perry was sort of touched by what he said. It meant that Doofenshmirtz looked up to Perry... in a weird way. Just then, Perry was being trapped again in the same trap as before.
"Excellent. Now that I have you in my trap again, it's time to find out where you hid my photograph! So where is it!" Doofenshmirtz demanded, putting the fedora in his lab-coat.
Perry clattered, indicating that he wasn't going to tell him soon. This was going to be a repeat of that time when Doofenshmirtz needed the keys for his craft fast which Perry hid under his foot. If that was the case, then this was going to be a loooooooong day.
This was her moment of truth. She was wearing Jenny's beautiful dress and shared Candace's strong determination. It was going to be a great date for sure!
"Thanks for dropping me off mom" Stacy said.
"Of course honey" Doctor Hirano said with a smile. "To think this wouldn't have happened if Candace wasn't so cunning."
Stacy laughed with her mom. A few years after Candace met Stacy, Stacy just had to tell her mother about what exactly happened and how she didn't know Candace at all. Her mother could only laugh.
"Oh I can't believe this. You're going on your first serious date!"
"Moooom, please stop that. I don't want to look bad in front of Coltrane." Stacy had gone on dates before, but they were never as serious as this one.
"Oh right, I'm sorry dear. I'm just so excited!"
"Well could you save that for later?" Stacy teased. Her mother laughed again.
"Ah, we're here!" Stacy said with a smile which got only broader when she saw that Coltrane was already there waiting for her. She could wait to get out of the car and go to him but since her mother wanted to properly say goodbye and wish her luck, she had to wait.
"Now Stacy, I'm very happy for you and you know it. You have great fun with this boy and if he turns into a pervert, you know what to do, right honey?"
"Scream like mad, yeah yeah, I know. But Coltrane isn't like that! I mean, he's best friends with Jeremy!"
"Oh that doesn't mean anything for a young boy. You know when I was your age, this guy named Phil was..."
"MOOOM, please! Stop it! Would it relax you if I hired a private detective to keep an eye on him or something?"
"Oh you know I'm just messing with you honey." She laughed a bit and then leaned over to her daughter, gave her a kiss on the forehead and wished her the best of luck. Finally, Stacy could leave the car.
"Goodbye mom!"
"Goodbye Stacy!"
Stacy then wanted to turn around to head for Coltrane when she was startled by the fact that Coltrane was already behind her.
"Whoops. I didn't mean to scare you" Coltrane said with an apologetic grin
"It's okay" Stacy said with a smile.
"You look lovely" Coltrane then said upon inspecting her dress.
"Thanks! You too!" Stacy replied.
"Thank you" Coltrane answered. "Shall we go in then?"
Stacy nodded and followed her date. Step one: first impression through clothing - SUCCES!!
When Candace came home, her busting-sensors went haywire again. Seeing as her brothers were still busy with their project of the day, she had to bust them soon! Only now could she see what their project was. She should have KNOWN that it was an enormous version of the chess-game they played that morning. "AHA! I KNEW you were building something huge! You guys are SOOOO busted!!" Candace yelled at the boys and she quickly took her phone. She then dialed her mother's cell-phone.
"Uhm... who is that?" Megan asked Ferb who she was standing next to at the moment.
"That is our older sister Candace" Ferb replied.
"And... why is she so agitated?" Megan asked.
Ferb just shrugged but gave her the impression that she was always like this.
"And of course you call again while I'm in the middle of baking a crêpe sucré, making me ruin it again" Linda said over the phone.
"But moooom, the boys have built a LIFE-SIZED CHESSBOARD in the BACKYARD!!!" Candace replied.
"Candace, how many times have we gone through this?"
"Mom, you don't need to keep reminding me of the candy bar you could have bought for those nickels! Now will you PLEASE come home!?"
Linda sighed. "Candace, class doesn't end for another hour or so. Why don't you relax and hang out with Stacy."
"Because Stacy is having a date with Coltrane..."
"Oh how nice for her! Well then, why don't you follow her example and go out with Jeremy?"
"But Jeremy isn't available right now."
"Then what about Jenny?"
"She's off to return a lost fedora."
"Well, then you should just try to relax without any help."
"Oh FINE, but don't come complaining to me when you once again find the backyard completely empty except for Phineas, Ferb and their little annoying friends!" Candace then hung up.
Linda stared at her phone in awe for a while. Did her daughter just switched roles with her or something? Seeing the cook again quickly got her mind back to cooking though.
Candace groaned and went inside again.
