"So Norm, do you know where who-ever the platypus went? Since you were the one stupid enough to fall into his trap, you should know" Doofenshmirtz asked his robot with an irritated voice.
"I do not know. Shall we go to the park together sometime?" Norm said.
"No, I'd rather not" Doofenshmirtz said. "Well, it looks like we... wait, now that who-ever the platypus isn't here anymore, I can continue with my plan!"
"And that is how you get rid of pests" Norm said.
"You know, I have to work on your speaking program one of these days... Anyway... " Doofenshmirtz coughed in order to start his dramatic voice again. "Now Norm, with just ONE simple click of this button, I will spread my face over the ENTIRE TRI-STATE AREA."
"Wouldn't a tv-broadcast be simpler?" Norm replied.
"Oh now you decide to say something that makes sense" Doofenshmirtz grunted. "And btw, there you go again. Just like last week with that idea of just throwing those marbles out of the window. You just don't understand the concept of being an evil scientist! Anyway, even though it's sad that Perry the platypus is not here to stop me and that his stand-in who-ever the platypus has just left... WE CAN BEGIN." With that, Doofenshmirtz pressed the button to start up the process.
Right away, the poster began duplicating itself, after which it was shot around the entire tri-state area.
"Wait a minute, that doesn't look like the photo I took... what is this? A LOST poster for a fedora? I didn't place that there right? Hmm, this fedora looks kind of familiar... nah, nothing comes to mind" Doofenshmirtz said.
Perry, who was already hiding again, rolled his eyes and just waited for somebody to knock on the door.
"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, we now present to you the LIFE-SIZED CHESSBOARD!!! and the cloning machine over there" Phineas said excitedly over the megaphone.
Everybody cheered (except for Baljeet, who only smiled).
"Wow Phineas, I look great." Isabella said upon seeing her own piece.
"Thanks, I look great as well Isabella, though I don't know whether that's a compliment or a self-centered remark" Phineas laughed. Isabella blushed again and then giggled with him.
"Well, it would be bragging if I said that you look great" Isabella said. "Or would it."
At this, Phineas showed his mysterious smile again. He had been pulling this smile before but not as much as he had done in the past week.
Adyson coughed and Phineas and Isabella were pulled back into reality. The fireside girls just smiled.
"So eh... Isabella and Phineas..." Megan said loud enough for only Gretchen and Ginger to hear, making a heart with her fingers.
"Yes, yes they are. Only Phineas doesn't know it yet." Gretchen said.
"She's been flirting with him ever since they met, but so far, there have only been a few answers" Ginger said.
"Oh the poor girl. Ok I won't tell anything to Samantha about that, promise" Megan said.
"Aaanyway, all of the fireside girls should go over to the cloning machine to make copies of themselves. There are two pieces of each of course. Buford and Baljeet, you go after that. There's supposed to be eight of you. Megan, Ferb, Isabella and me can already go to our pieces" Phineas said. It didn't take long for everybody to get into position, even though Buford had a little trouble with seeing himself seven more times. Not even this intimidated Baljeet though. Buford was on the verge of giving up.
Megan was impressed and excited. "Wow, I can't believe this. This is just so cool! How could anyone hate this."
Ferb looked at her, smiled, thought "another person happy" and returned to stare at his brother.
"Well, if white begins, black wins so go ahead Ferb!" Phineas shouted.
Ferb put his thumbs up and thought of a strategy. He then made a gesture to one of the Baljeet pawns to move 2 steps forward.
"Okay" he said and he was off.
"You're going down, Baljeet-6!" all of the Bufords said. Baljeet-6, of course, didn't reply. He tried as hard as he could but he could not keep his mind on the game. Ferb pressed a button, passing the turn over to his step-brother.
"Okay Buford-8, you go 2 steps forward as well" Phineas ordered.
"Fine" Buford-8 said and he was off. Phineas then passed on the turn to Ferb and thus, the game started.
"Eww, that color is so passé." "Are they still selling that?" "Who would want to walk in that?!" "Didn't you last night?" "Moving on!"
The girls didn't seem to find any good enough clothing for Stacy's date tonight. There had to be something, right?
"Hmm, what would you say about this skirt?" "Nah, it's too short" "What about this blouse?" "That barely covers anything!" "Ooh what a cute scarf!" "Cute for in the winter perhaps"
This went on for quite a while until something flew against Candace's head. "HEY, what is this!"
"Hmm, it looks like a LOST poster. Let me see it... have you seen this fedora... if found, bring it to this address..." Stacy read.
"Hey, isn't that the address of that tall purple building downtown?" Jenny said.
"Hey you're right! But... how do you know that?" Candace asked.
"I sometimes go by those houses with flyers. I've never been in that building but I did pass it quite a lot. But how do you know it?" Jenny replied.
"Well... when I had to get tickets for..." Candace wanted to say but Stacy cut her off saying "Phineas and Ferb"
"Well anyway, I haven't seen a fedora here, have you?" Candace said.
"No, no I haven't" Stacy said.
"Uhm... I did... back at your place, Candace" jenny then said.
"You did?" Stacy and Candace looked at her.
"Yes, I took it with me. I thought it looked cute" Jenny replied.
"Hmm, well, then we know what we're gonna do after this" Candace said.
"You know, you're more like your brothers than you think" Stacy teased. Candace frowned at her, which only made Stacy giggle some more.
"A. NY. WAY... we still haven't gotten you proper clothing. Remember, the date, the crisis" Candace said. This brought Stacy back to reality.
"Oh right, I'm so sorry" Stacy said and the three were off again.
"Wait you two... we've already checked the entire mall by now" Jenny said. "Don't you think it would be best to go to either my or Candace's home to look for something there? Mine might be a little bit tight on you but you and Candace have the same proportions."
"Hey, good idea, Jen" Candace said.
"Thank you. I do try on the occasions I do hang with you two" Jenny said. The other two did feel a little guilty hearing this. Jenny was left out quite a few times over the summer.
"Wow, Jenny, I'm sorry. We're not really good friends to you" Stacy then said.
"I'm sorry too. I never really realized it" Candace said.
Jenny started laughing. "You do realize I don't answer your calls too much either right? I'm mostly on strike or something"
"Hey, you're right" Candace and Stacy said.
"Besides, didn't you like to make fun of soap operas like the scene you just pulled?" Jenny then said. They all laughed and then, they were off again, back to the Flynn-Fletcher house.
