".. So I thought that you might be interested in tagging along!" Phineas had called up Buford first. Baljeet would be next on the list.
"Just a stupid game of chess?" Buford answered snidely.
"Not any game of chess, THE game of chess!" Phineas said excitedly.
"Fine, I'll just have to call that kid behind the dump to postpone our eh... meeting then" Buford said.
"Okay then!" Phineas answered, ignoring what Buford had just said. "Meet you here then!" he hung up again. He knew that Buford would take any chance to destroy something, whether it was his bike or a huge chess-piece. Baljeet would come of course for the game. He was smart and liked to prove that to others. That wouldn't be a problem but there were still two things that kept him busy.
"We still haven't found anyone to be the queen" he thought to himself. "Maybe Django would like to wear a dress for a day?" Phineas laughed at the idea. "Hmm, maybe Isabella can find a 7th fireside girl to fill the empty spot. I also still need to find out why Isabella was so glad to hear about Ferb missing a queen. Hmm, maybe she already had someone in mind for that? Heh, maybe someone that wants to be friends with Ferb real bad" Phineas laughed to himself again. "Oh, right, Baljeet." He dialed the number of his friend and soon gained an answer.
"Yes, this is sadness speaking" Baljeet said with a saddened voice.
"Hiya, it's me... Uh, what's wrong Jeet?" Phineas asked curiously.
"D- do you remember the girl that came to visit me back when you built that love-boat?" Baljeet said.
"Eh yes, wasn't she called Mishti?"
"Yes, yes she is." Baljeet sighed. "I... I just received a phone call."
"From her? That's good right?"
"No... not from her... it was from her parents"
"Oh, then what did they have to say?" Phineas could hear Baljeet was on the verge of tears. Tears of sadness, not like the ones Isabella had let out back in that night.
"She- she went missing." Baljeet then started crying.
"Aw man, I'm sorry to hear that." Phineas didn't know what to do.
"I mean WHERE could she be, HOW did she even manage to go missing. Everybody is worried sick and I cannot think of the dangers that could meet her! Where could she have gone? It is making my head so twisted..."
"Wow, calm down Baljeet. I don't have the answers to those questions but I might have something to cheer you up."
"I doubt it."
"Well in fact, it's the reason I called in the first place. We were going to play a game of life-sized chess and we thought that you might want to join us." Phineas tried to sound as cheerful as possible again.
Baljeet was silent for a while until he said "Okay, I will come then."
"Great! I'll see you here in a bit then!" Phineas said.
"But promise me one thing. Do not tell anything about this to Buford." Baljeet said.
"Don't worry, your secret is safe with me" Phineas said and he hung up again.

Doofenshmirtz was feeling anxious. He couldn't shake the thought that someone was watching him. Every now and then he would check behind him, shrug it off and walk on again. This went on for a while until finally, a few streets away from his building, he's had it and shouted "WHO-EVER YOU ARE, STOP FOLLOWING ME, seriously, can't an evil scientist walk normally over the streets these days?"
Perry had hidden himself behind a car just in time for Doofenshmirtz to miss him but it was close. He'd have to be more careful from now. Upon seeing the street, he saw that that would be a difficult task. The street was deserted and there didn't seem to be any mailboxes or trashcans to hide behind. What was he to do now? There was only one option: climb on the roofs and follow him from there. In order to do this, he had to fire his grappling gun which of course would cause a bit of noise. He tried to fire it as far away from his nemesis as possible but Doofenshmirtz still heard something.
"What did I just tell you, who-ever! You wouldn't want to get on the bad side of doctor Heinz Doofenshmirtz!"
It was the exact same line that had caused Perry to do just that 5 years ago. He reached the rooftops without any problems and followed him for the rest of the trip. When the purple building was finally in sight, Perry decided to go into Doofenshmirtz's lair before him. That way, he would be there already should Doofenshmirtz try anything.

"So basically, you're saying we will be taking roles as chess-pieces?" Gretchen talked with Isabella on the phone.
"Yes! By the look of it, it's going to be so much fun!"
"Hmm, something tells me there's something more" Gretchen teased.
"What? What do you mean?" Isabella asked.
"Who is going to take the role of the queen for Phineas?"
The line went silent until after a while, Isabella said "... How did you know that that will be me?" she blushed.
Gretchen grinned and the sounds of the other girls laughing was heard in the background. "Just a wild guess."
"Ok, so I am going to be his queen. YAY. But you'll still get to have lots of fun!"
"Hey, we wouldn't want to miss out on this!" Gretchen said. "We'll meet you in the backyard of Phineas and Ferb then."
"Ok, see you then!" Isabella hung up the phone again. Ever since that night, the girls have been teasing her a bit about her and Phineas. They were really glad for her that Phineas finally showed some affection but it was a bit funny to see how she reacted whenever the chat went to Phineas. Of course, they wouldn't want to hurt her so things like that day in Paris weren't mentioned.
Isabella decided to help Phineas out with building the other chess-pieces.
"Say Phineas, can I help you?"
"Of course you can, Isabella! Would you want to work on me?" Phineas said.
Isabella was shocked. Did he really just ask that? "On... on you?" Isabella blushed.
"Yes, we still need to finish my head and the plateau on top"
Isabella suddenly realized he was talking about the chess-piece that would look like Phineas. She could smack herself right now but instead, she just smiled broadly and said "Oh... of course!" She then took some tools and began working.
"Great! I'll get started on you then!" Phineas said with a grin.
Again, Isabella blushed but had to tell herself that it was the chess-piece that he was talking about.
Ferb had been watching the two while also making the finishing touch to another one of the Buford-pawns. He just knew Phineas had no idea that he'd just make Isabella blush madly by saying those things. Still, he couldn't help but give his brother credit for saying something spot-on without even knowing it. He grinned and then went back to work.
