"Hi Phineas, what'cha doin'?" Isabella had just entered the backyard. The memories of the great night she'd had a little while ago were still printed into her mind and she couldn't help but admire Phineas more and more with each passing day.
"Hi there Isabella!" Phineas said excitedly. Ever since that great night, he'd feel a bit funny when around Isabella. He'd felt funny around her before but it somehow got worse... or better... ever since. He had learned to just shrug it off to be able to talk to her in a normal way. "We're building a life-sized chessboard! Ferb and I want to end a game in a 1-0 for once instead of the everlasting tie." He grinned.
"Nobody ever won?" Isabella asked.
"Not a single time! There's always only our kings left" Phineas said.
"Wow!" Isabella was amazed.
"And since we don't want to stay inside playing the game, we're going to expand it a bit" Phineas said.
"So that's why!" Isabella smiled.
"Yep! But we don't want to keep all of the fun to ourselves! Would you want to join?" Phineas asked.
"Sure! So, what's my job?" Isablla asked curiously.
"You can be the queen! Ferb and I will be kings and other people can fill in the other spots" Phineas spoke. He had lost Isabella after saying that Phineas will be king and she will be queen. Still, there was a chance she was going to end up with Ferb so she kept her attention focused as hard as she could.
".. Buford and Baljeet can fill in for the pawns on either side and hey, if you call the fireside girls, they can fill up the horses, towers and bishops! All we're missing is a queen for Ferb though since Candace doesn't want to tag along... Maybe if we have another fireside girl over to... Isabella?" Isabella was now completely in the air. Phineas had already decided that she would be his queen! She was in heaven and smiled broadly for that.
"Isabella? Are you ok?" Phineas said with a bit of worry and he waved his hand in front of her eye.
"Huh? Oh, I'm so sorry. I was just thinking of eh... something Gretchen told me." Isabella blushed.
"Oh ok, you did hear what I said right?" Phineas asked with a grin.
"Yes. I heard that I will be your queen... I mean... that Ferb still needs a queen." Isabella quickly said.
"Yes" Phineas smiled. Of course he didn't know what was going on but something about her seemed to say "I'm happy!" ever since Phineas had said that Ferb still needs a queen. "What does that mean? Would she want to be queen on both sides? Well, that could be possible because she's a girl and girls always want to feel important right? No, that couldn't be it. Isabella isn't like that. Then what is it?" Phineas thought but he just shrugged it off again like he usually did.
"So eh, do I need to change or something?" Isabella asked.
"Well no. Ferb is already busy and ah, looks like he's already made one of the pawns. Nice work Ferb! It looks just like Buford!" Phineas said upon seeing the created pawn. Ferb just gave him the thumbs up and went back to work. "Anyway, we control the pieces by standing on top of the platforms created on each of them. Whenever you place a step forward, your piece will go forward, when you go to the right, your piece goes right etc. When the other team is playing, you can walk all you want on the platform but the piece won't move. That way, you can walk back when you're too close to the edge" Phineas explained.
"That sounds really great!" Isabella said. "But wait, if Buford and Baljeet are going to be playing the pawns, how can they do that? There's just 2 of them and 16 pawns!"
"Good question. That's why we're going to build a special cloning machine as well!"
"Oh great, 8 Bufords" Isabella laughed and Phineas could only join in "Well I'll be calling the other girls then" she said and waved Phineas goodbye.
"See you in the afternoon, Izzy" Phineas said and he went back to Ferb. "So, got an idea for your queen yet?"
Ferb was thinking of Vanessa of course but quickly refrained from thinking that and just pulled up his shoulders.
"Hmm... oh that's right, we still need to ask Buford and Baljeet whether they will join" Phineas said and he picked up his phone.
Candace had just arrived at Stacy's place, still carrying an angry face. She rang the bell.
"I'm coming... oh hey Candace! I'm glad you're here! Come on in" Stacy said and she pulled her in. Only then did she see Candace's face and said "Oh forget about your brothers for once, we're trying to find me an outfit today."
"Oh okay, you might be right." Candace replied.
"Besides, in all their inventions so far, nobody has been hurt, right?"
"I got hurt several times!" Candace said
"well yeah, but that's mainly your own fault" Stacy said.
"Okay OKAY! I get it!" Candace said, pushing her friend to make her stop.
Stacy just laughed. "Aaanyway, clothing crisis, upstairs, now!"
"Right, let's get you fully prepared for tonight!" Candace said and she smiled again.
The two went upstairs into Stacy's room, walked over to the cupboard and began searching for some good-looking clothes. This proved to be an uneasy task for the girls. Soon, the room was covered in tops, skirts, jeans, scarfs, dresses, socks and many more clothes that you can find in a girl's closet.
"I can't believe it, we've been through almost all of it and we still can't find the proper clothes!" Stacy said.
Candace joined in with a hysterical tone "There has to be something cute!"
They searched the heap for a while until the bell rang. Stacy freaked out "It's him already?!"
Candace peeked out of the window "No, it's not. It's Jenny"
"Oh phew" Stacy calmed down again. "I'll go open the door then."
upon opening the door, Jenny said "Hi Stacy. I heard Coltrane was going to ask you out and knowing you, you and Candace are currently looking for a nice outfit and since the strike against the whale-hunters won't start because the leader fell ill, I thought I'd help you."
"What a good friend" Stacy smiled.
"I know, right?" Jenny smiled back. They walked upstairs again where Candace was waiting for them.
"Hi Jen" Candace said.
"Hiya Candy. Wow, it's so strange to be doing something for Stacy now" Jenny grinned.
"Haha, very funny" Candace said with a smile. "Stop picking on me you two!"
The others laughed. They then resumed their search again.
Doofenshmirtz is taking a picture (evil jingle style)
Perry had made his way to the photo-studio where presumably Doofenshmirtz was making a new photo of himself. He hid behind the very same mailbox that was his hiding spot five years ago. He looked at the shop and indeed saw his nemesis taking himself a new picture. It was exactly the same background and Doofenshmirtz had held the exact same pose. When he exited the studio again, Doofenshmirtz was looking proudly at his picture. He had great plans for this picture here but something didn't feel right. It was as if someone was looking at him from behind the mailbox. When he checked, Perry had just ducked away again. Doofenshmirtz just shrugged it off and walked back to his building. Perry secretly followed him.
