"So... anyone got the guts to go outside and stand guard?" Aro said, trying to sound funny.
He was immediately answered by some mean stares from the others.
"What do we do now? What if they come here? What if..." Amaya began.
"Okay first of all, let's not panic! I mean, how big is the chance that those escapees actually come here." Ryuu said with a grin.
"Y-yeah, Ryuu's right. T-there's tons of other houses around." Megan continued.
"But... this one's probably the only one with so many possible... victims" Emi said, swallowing in fear.
"Are we going to let this broadcast get us down? We came to party right?" Makina then said. "Let's not worry so much and just enjoy. Besides, if they do show up, we have some strong guys among us and girls with 911 under their speed-dials" she giggled.
Everyone's mood brightened up a bit again until suddenly, a knock was heard on the door. Everybody gasped.
"It's one of the killers!" Lya screamed.
"Ssssshhhhhh! You don't want the killers to find out that we know that they're killers, do you?!" Abby said.
It went dead-silent again when the knocking started again.
"Maybe they're trying to lure is out!" Kumi speculated.
"Or they're trying to see how many people are in the building like this by seeing how many reactions they get!" Dama then said.
Again, the knocking started. This time however, a voice joined in. "Come on, open up!"
Everybody gasped. The killers were forcing them to open the door now?
"It's not funny anymore, open the door! It's starting to rain you know." The voice said.
"Wait a minute..." Megan then said. She then walked towards the door to open it.
"NO! don't do it!" Amaya yelled but it was too late as the door was already opened.
"I thought I recognized the voice. Come in quickly Nion!" Megan said. She then quickly closed the door again after her. Everybody sighed in relief to find out that it was just Nion.
"What was that all about? What's so hard in just opening the door for me" Nion demanded.
"D-didn't you hear of the escaped mass-murderers?" Lya asked curiously.
"Escaped... how could I know of that, I was making my way over here, remember?" Nion replied.
"Well, that's what happened, Ni. Murderers escaped" Amaya said.
"And they're going to come here to kill us all!" Emi said, still in shock.
"Relax! How can you be so sure of that? I mean, it's not like we make perfect targets or something..." Makina then said.
"NO! Don't say that! Now it will happen for SURE!!" Kumi then screamed.
Makina then sighed. "Okay, first of all, we don't need to go out of the house for anything as far as I know. Megan's mom said some could sleep over but I think that she'll allow all of us now because of those murderers... " A few murmurs started to form again. "Secondly, Aro, where did you get the idea of the power going out?"
"Well duh! That's what usually happens on nights like..." Aro started but he was interrupted by a bright flash and a deafening blow, after which the power indeed went out.
Everybody went dead-quiet.
"...these..." Aro finished silently.
Just then, Megan's mother entered the room again with a torch. "I'm afraid the power went out because of the thunder."
"Thunder? But... there wasn't any thunder just now!" Dama then said.
"I diid tell you it started to rain when you left me outside" Nion then said.
"Well yes but... " Dama wanted to reply when another bright flash indicated yet another thunderbolt.
"Well... now it truly is a night of terror..." Lya then said.
"... Uhm... Who wants pie?" Megan said, trying to cheer everybody up.
